I say sure we have, just about as much as we've seen alot of the characters you seem to know so much about in action

but i'll start being direct from now on, cause i fear my subtlety is giving you a false sense of superiority

I assume you read the Pein/Jiraiya fight

considering the situation and information flow and home field advantage of both characters
did you or did you happen to notice how much more of a fight Jiraiya had to put up when in comparison to his opponent?

if you didn't I'll tell you, Jiraiya went "all out" (minus Gamabunta)
Pein in fact almost didn't break a sweat.
I don't think anyone here can tell me the full extent of what peins eyes can do or even what he is...

don't tell me about knowing anything more than a few tricks that character can do when he's in a fight where he clearly has the advantage.
an advantage gained by a few things, but in jiraiyas defense not knowing he was attacking avatars.

you don't know enough about Pein to make the claims many here have

you don't know enough about Itachi...when's the last time you've seen him go full tilt in a fight?
when's the last time you saw him fight?
all you've seen is him wipe people out with some powerhouse moves
and of course his rep.
same with Pein, his rep
same with Madara, his rep.

but in actual fact you don't really know what's he's capable off

here I am saying the 4th is a powerhouse bucause of a few powerhouse moves that dare i say are up there on the scale
one against the most powerful demon/beast
the other against any army that looked at him funny
(another being his invention of a powerhouse move)

face it, unless your a hypocrite, you know as little about the characters you say are strong as i know about the character i say is.

what's more, that doesn't change the fact that Jiraiya, who knows plenty about what both of those characters are capable of due to his spying(but minus a few secret jutsu's here and there)
was ready willing and able to take them both on at the same time

now he may just be a cocky/arrogant idiot
but at the same it takes a lot to have a character skilled/smart enough to only let himself be severely injured twice in his lifetime and in decidedly overt ways, believe himself capable of defeating both of those two.

The spoiler script that contained the deal with Itachi besting Sasuke and stating that when the field of vision is 0, the Sharingan is useless, I seriously find that one to have the most viable sequence.

From the picture, it seems he's ABOUT to take Sasuke's eye, but with a snake emerging from the curse seal, that throws a twist and probbaly Sasuke's salvation.

Personally, I'd appreciate any of these but the one I named at the top seemed the coolest to me, not to mention the most probable.

Seeing as we have no prior 'eye transplant' sequences to go on, I suppose it's possible that they would develop the same.

So, it's not the fact that all Sharingan's MS look different, just that everyone we've seen with the MS and has a different Level. Itachi has base MS, Madara has EMS, and Kakashi has a Hybrid in my opinion. He's not a true Uchiha, and he has no one for reference as far as any power ups are concerned for his Sharingan. I'm sure he knew of the ways the get MS, but found an alternate root since he's not an Uchiha, and does not have a brother to kill and steal eye's from.

I didn't want to shoot down Itachi's post by saying that. Tobi shouldn't be Obito because of the fact that there has been several statements that he is Madara. Curious question. Didn't they say that Madara always kept his MS on? Or did they say he always kept his Sharringan on. If the former is true then when we first saw Tobi's Sharringan it should have been in the Eternal Mangekyou stage. If the latter was true then I did alot of typing for no reason.

P.S. I would like to think that if Obito had grown up and obtained the MS that it would look exactly like the MS Kakashi has. Grant it there has been not substantial truth to either confirm nor disprove my statement, but I don't think that the fact that Kakashi isn't an Uchiha would affect his MS design. This whole Obito's death was that catalyst for Kakashi's Sharingan is pretty much fanfiction in my opinion.

1. Kakashi has never stated that obitio was his best friend, but I will reference back in a bit.
2. Kakashi didn't kill Obito.
3. Kakashi didn't even have the Sharingan when when Obito died. I highly doubt that Rin would seriously do the transplant with Obito still alive. Then again, we never saw the transplant. Either way, during the "death process" Kakashi had not obtained the Sharingan yet.
4 Considering it's radically different look, I believe it was gained a different way. I believe it was stated that Kakashi had been doing lots of training while Team 7 was training/away/being molested by creepy snake men, anyways.

I was wondering about Itachi's Mangekyou as well. It is different from the original manga look. It could be artist's error though. Imagine how he could mess up on Kakashi's if that's the case. It is still possible that they could be refering about someone else, but I doubt it. There has never been any direct nor indirect proof that he could be Obito. I do not believ Zetsu knows Tobi is Madara. I think the only Akatsuki that know Tobi is Madara are Pein (Because he's the "leader" and had a we saw him have a convo with Madara prior to the Jiraiya/Pein fight. And of course Itachi knows, because he said so himself. Last time we saw Zetsu and Tobi together was after the Sasuke/Deidara fight, and Madara was acting like Idiot Tobi, and how God-like Madara. I think's how we will be able to tell the difference between the persona's.

Zetsu clearly said he wanted a snack afterwards, which opens up a whole new window into his character. And how ironic that I've been raising questions about Zetsu and here Kishi is with my answers, or at least a few of them.

As to the actual scene, I'm looking forward to Itachi going full tilt as much as Zetsu is. Seeing that he was able to break out of the mountain toad's belly, which Jiraiya said was impossible, it should be a blockbuster in this fight.

They said his eyes WOULD surpass Itachi, not that he was already beyond him. Given the years and even the anamoly that is Sasuke's progression, Itachi should still be several feet above him.

I want to see Ameratsu live up to it's name dammit. It was cool last time but it really seems like a 'winner take all' manuever with no one able to survive direct contact, better not see Sasuke block it or some such.

You are technically correct ... which is the best kind of correct. The only problem I see in your thoughts are that I don't think that Oro could help him to much in fighting the MS. I think his cursed seal gave Sasuke the power to over come the Tsukuyomi. We have yet to see either side pull out all the stops in this fight to make a good decision on the out come.
Though I have a good idea that Sasuke will win because of the "Main Character Jutsu" lol

1.) Yes he did after realizing he would never defeat Itachi.

2.) He was training Sasuke as a vessel, as the body in which he would be reborn with even greater power and to carry out his ends. Sasuke was the one that was dead set on obtaining the power to kill Itachi even if he had to give up his body. So only one of them was training soley to defeat Itachi.

It's not as if Orochimaru was training him in techniques specifically to kill Itachi and we've seen no proof of that. The cursed seal is a very powerful weapon, but it was not given soley to combat Itachi, it was for power, pure and simple.

3.) Yes, the Curse Seal increases and seems to change his chakra to something far more sinister. That does NOT however mean that he has more chakra than Itachi, it's never been stated just how much he has or the scope of his ability.

You're getting carried away on the Sasuke Train. Itachi still has far more abilities than we've seen of Sasuke and his level still contains things that Sasuke didn't even know to be possible.

For example, when Itachi managed to summon a kage bunshin in the middle of hand to hand combat, Sasuke was completely shocked and taken aback and remarked that he didn't know he could do that.

Until I see more, Itachi simply underestimated Sasuke, but I've seen nothing to say he's been surpassed. Of course it seems that Kishi is dead set on it happening, but I've yet to see the proof.

For further speculation I think its going to be Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura who take down Pein and Zetsu :)

That's funny because I thought it kicked major ass and I don't like Sasuke at all. I mean come on, some actual fighting with no genjutsu. It was aggravating to see that Sasuke was gaining the upper hand soley based on the fact that Itachi's eyes were failing him but that's to be expected when dealing with Sasuke, who Kishi has the biggest hard on for.

This was probably my favorite since this fight started, watching Itachi's eyes bleed as he unleashes Amaterasu = Brilliant.

If I had the MS, I'd at least start fights with ninjutsu or taijutsu. The illusions should be a fight-ender; ESPECIALLY if it causes eventual blindness. You don't see Rock Lee opening up 3+ gates to tie his shoes lol.

Just read the last chapter. Pretty awesome, I love how they showed Sasuke and Itachi doing the hand seals at the same time, but showing itachi is way faster by bluring it.

The first portion was good but ruined by the fact it was only genjutsu. Itachi's inability to defeat Sasuke in his current state and have to resort to Amaterasu so soon is irritating to extremes. However, this was a foregone conclusion, foreshadowed several times in the series, most prominent among them, by Tobi. Zetsu also seems far more impressed with Sasuke and he also seems to be quite hungry.

All in all, it's gotten better as far as action, but the way it's being executed leaves much to be desired.

I agree with 99% of this post.

Itachi's legacy, his rumored ability, the statements made by other characters repeatedly, very little of it matches up with what we've seen from Itachi in this fight. The man has destroyed half of the Uchiha clan alone and he can't seem to get over on one alone, his younger brother who hasn't even elevated to anything near his most powerful form?

Don't get me wrong, he's done some pretty cool things like using the kabe bunshin in the middle of a hand-to-hand battle and for a short time making Sasuke look like a child.

This is ITACHI, the basic centerpiece and driving force for a large art of the story, not just Sasuke's and he's being wasted.

I'm enjoying the action as I said, but the execution is what's lacking.

Yeah he is definitly being wasted. When he showed up in Konoha for the first time in ages the shinobi he faced where actually scared of him and his ability. and he took on some of the best trained shinobi they had on his own.

and now he's having trouble with sasuke, who should by any means be as powerful as this fight is making out. part of me want this to still be an illusion just so it would restore everything and could have Itachi on top and then Kick sasuke ass and he wouldnt know what hit him cos he wouldnt know what was real.

Yes. I know about that. But a character can be inspired by more than one influence like goku is inspired by both the monkey king and superman. Jiraiyas perverted nature as a martial arts master, the fact that he teaches the main character their version of a kamehameha, added to the fact that he also teaches naruto in the art of toad style like roshi teaches goku turtle style makes me believe he was inspired by roshi aswell.
