hey guys, I havent posted in a while... stuff sorta piled up on me, so ive been busy...but yeah, this fight needs to get going. its boring me to tears right now.

Pretty decent chapter but a few questions:

1.) Aside from how hard it is to detect, just what made that Orochimaru arsenal substitution require so much chakra as to wipe Sasuke out?

2.) One of Itachi's eyes was devoid of the MS after that last Amaterasu, the one used to perform it of course. It looked 'blank', devoid of even base Sharingan, what's with that?

3.) Is it just me or did that last shot of Sasuke look like he had revealed the MS finally or was it just strange brush strokes?

As I said, decent chapter, the most aggrivating thing is that Amaterasu seems to have been an enormous letdown. On the high end of the upside, Sasuke and Itachi both are exhausted and Sasuke was forced to raise his level momentarily.

Agreed. It's a fantastic jutsu, it simply wasn't used correctly or in a way that showcased it abilities completely aside from engulfing flame and playing heat seeker. I wanted to see it eat through rock and steel, eat CHAKRA or something cooler like that.

The fight is definitely getting more interesting, more climatic. Itachi's best jutsu was completely misused so it only makes sense that Kishi makes Sasuke's out to be the greatest thing since kunai.:csad:

As to the substitution, that's true and it's very Orochimaru-esque but still, it doesn't seem as if it was great enough to completely wipe his chakra reserves.

As for Ameterasu, I would have been disapointed in it if Itachi wasn't holding back. However, as Zetsu said, Itachi wasn't going all iut with it. He was holding back as to prevent damaging Sasukes eyes.

Bah! It wasn't THAT lame, it was rather ironic and fitting seeing the element of the Uchiha clan.

Holding back or not, that technique did not deliver in full in relation to it's hype is all I'm saying.

It's supposidly a third MS technique because I think Shinto was an ancient japanese religion or something and the two current MS techs are 2 of their 3 gods and Susanoo is the third.
Though I thought Itachi is out or really low on chakra so I don't know if he can pull another MS tech off. Otherwise with Sasuke weak maybe Itachi should use Tsukiomi again?

My guess why he said that was because of the speed lightning posseses. I don't believe that they said Kakashi did it on purpose. I think he might have accidently hit it with chidori back then. I personally don't think that Gai would attest to it unless he had seen it with his own eyes.

i dont think it matters what level sasukes eyes are at. kakashi leveled up an eye that wasn;t his, so itachi can easily do the same.

Whew, been really busy.

In any case, I'd say I'm pleased with the way things are going. Sasuke pulls off Kirin, I don't like the guy but I loved the methodical nature and execution of the jutsu, and Itachi remains standing.

Not only that, Sasuke's frustration is finally showing itself as he comes to see that it won't be so easy as he'd dreamt to take big brother down. He's upped the ante and raised his level, which means this is only going to get better. Zetsu just gets more and more interesting and with the commentary, proves he's got a mass of intelligence.

With Itachi poised to showcase the exact specs of this new jutsu of his, I hope it has some offensive assets as well. Although it was good to see that Itachi basically mocked Sasuke with his 'vision' comment, I have a bad feeling Sasuke will find a way around this jutsu, just as Itachi did his. Chakra or no, he'll pull something out of his ass.

In the meantime, I look forward to Itachi continuing to get his due.

I think his seal is now being made to work like Naruto's demon chakra. When he runs out, he can draw on it. Not the way the Seal was originally placed but it'd be just like Kishi to do something like that to make it comprable to Naruto.

Just in case anyone is wondering.

Currently no company in the US has the license for the second Naruto series, Naruto: Shippuden. VIZ, who licenses the first series anime and all 220 episodes of the series as well as the manga, does not have the license yet for Shippuden.

So it wasn't a matter of skipping the fillers and going right into Shippuden. Because even if the fillers were skipped, VIZ still doesn't have the rights to release Shippuden yet AND Cartoon Network has no broadcast deal in place to air it.

That was anime filler when Kakashi used gate 1. Canon-wise it never happened. Anyways, no doubt Zetsu spied on the match between Gai and Kisame or Kisame told Akatsuki about Gai if he was that fast. In either case, it seems doubtful that Kakashi intentionally did this feat.

That's not necessarily true. We know Kakashi knows about the Eight Gates because of his convo with Gai during the Chuunin exam. He also knows how dangerous it is. Kakashi probably knows it, and knows better than to use it.

I expected more, and considering how Jiraiya and Shikamaru turned out to be, I had high hopes for Itachi. He's no better than Orochimaru

Because after reading the whole manga all these years, and hearing all the hype about Itachi, and how strong he is, how young his sharingan developed and advanced, and being an Anbu captain at only 13, and how he killed an entire clan, and joined one of the strongest Missing Nin Orginization in the entire series, we expected more. Itachi has been portrayed as too much of a badass to be such a linear character with a now linear fight.

Heh, I fail to see the base for the 'linear' argument. He's a villan, their roles tend to be methodical, a systematic quest for a single goal. Welcome to the world of Villany. There are those that fit outside that box every now and again in Anime but those are the exception, not the rule. Fitting into that niche and looking damn good doing it, not to mention a nice backstory that's always proclaimed his need for power and advancement and it's far from disappointment. If you want to throw everyone that fits in that category together, you're basically not going to have much of list for bad guys to choose from.

Should he be doing better? Of course, but he's been destined to fall to his brother because Kishi loves him, period. It hardly cheapens him.

But hey, everyone has their own bone to pick.

Well think about it, he mostly uses Genjutsu and he only has 2 trump cards incase that doesn't work, Ameratsu and Susanoo. He's no where near on par with say Gai, Lee, or even Naruto in hand to hand, he's a ranged fighter take away his range and he's done.

I think that makes for a very interesting chapter, but on a Sasuke hating note:
Running out of chakra and having a reserve supply is Naruto's shtick. It is one of the things I grew to like about Naruto. Of course the star of the show Sasuke gets to have a similar ability. lol

I think his seal is now being made to work like Naruto's demon chakra. When he runs out, he can draw on it. Not the way the Seal was originally placed but it'd be just like Kishi to do something like that to make it comprable to Naruto.

Man, this really shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

My point is that he decides to use ranged attacks but has shown clear efficency in battles that require him to be in close. Simply because he's been shown using more of one over the other doesn't disqualify the other. When it comes down to it, Itachi is just as deadly 2 feet away as he is 200 feet away.

Haven't read it yet. Quite frankly, I'm disappointed with the majority of what's been happening, Since Team Yamato/Team 8, and Jaraiya left Konoha.

Since Kishimoto stated this is Sasuke's year, I've really been thinking hard about dropping this for a while. I'm might go back to Bleach. That's beginning to pick up again.

But right now, I'm super disappointed. Kishimoto has made Itachi out to be a big ol' *****.

Heh, it was much better reading and seeing it properly, but the spoilers were dead on. I'm loving this, Itachi is steadily and relentlessly dismantling everything thrown at him. He's reduced Sasuke's chakra to 0, basically punked out Orochimaru, and now is headed to his prize.

I'm still of the opinion that Sasuke will win but just how is a mystery to me and I find it hard to believe that it will be that easy to be rid of Orochimaru's presence in Sasuke. On that note, with him sealed, will Sasuke still be able to use whatever abilities he gained from absorbing him?

I look forward to the next chapter and more of Itachi's badassery.

Not to mention having the sharingan means you can copy the fighting style and predict the movements of whoevers fighting you anyway. Technically Sasori was replaced by Tobi (I say technically because I believe he has his ring). Do they have the rest of the tailed beasts? By my unofficial count they have 6. If in fact they haven't gotten 8 they would have to pick up a couple of people to do the extraction technique. Unless they plan on using all of Pein.

And Sasuke did survive by pure luck. If Orochimaru hadn't tried that stupid stunt, Sasuke would've not received the ultimate Orochimaru techniques and thus, Itachi would've won before.

Damn, I had a long weekend. Oh well, better late than never.

This chapter was sweet, it solidified everything I've been saying. Not only did Sasuke win by default, he won with Itachi coming into the battle suffering some unknown damage. This is great, not only did that chimp Sasuke pick up the default he picked it up on an Itachi that was clearly not 100%.

So basically he barely survived, Orochimaru didn't, against Itachi at less than his best, so he would have been completely owned even more so had Itachi not been set with a handicap. Seems Kishi has a conscience after all.

As for Shino, it kicks ass he's back in action but if he's not killed outright just to prove how tough Tobi is, I expect to see him nearly comatose in a chapter or so.

Damn, I had a long weekend. Oh well, better late than never.

This chapter was sweet, it solidified everything I've been saying. Not only did Sasuke win by default, he won with Itachi coming into the battle suffering some unknown damage. This is great, not only did that chimp Sasuke pick up the default he picked it up on an Itachi that was clearly not 100%.

So basically he barely survived, Orochimaru didn't, against Itachi at less than his best, so he would have been completely owned even more so had Itachi not been set with a handicap. Seems Kishi has a conscience after all.

As for Shino, it kicks ass he's back in action but if he's not killed outright just to prove how tough Tobi is, I expect to see him nearly comatose in a chapter or so.

You have a point about Shino, but Tobi hasn't done any offensive moves short of kicking Naruto once. Maybe if Shino gets serious enough Tobi will do something.

i think its gonna be the case that Naruto finally becomes hokage and he brings sasuke back from "the dark side" and sasuke becomes his Top anbu. or somthing like that

yeah...i suppose that would be one hell of a character development...sasuke become hokage of his own ninja town? and resurects the Uchiha clan?

meh all i know is i dont think Naruto will be ending anytime soon. after this akasuki stuff is done i want another time skip and another huge threat.
