Is it okay that I'm still holding my breath for Naruto to learn a Fire Style: Exploding shadow clone technique, or something to that effect? I hope he learns a jutsu that he can spam like shadow clones, but isn't ridiculously overpowered.

I always figured that Water would be his second jutsu style. I know that doesn't do anything cool with his clones, but I just wanted to put that out there.

Yeah, the general consensus from most is that it will be water, (hey exploding water clones like how Itachi did ain't bad either though). But I was still hoping it would be fire for three reasons. Naruto is a head first brawler type which I was always of the thought that water takes an elegant hand and intelligence to use to it's full potential, like Haku (every water jutsu we see him use) and Zabuza (using hidden mist jutsu, water prison jutsu). Of course Kisame and Suigetsu kinda prove me wrong there. But also, Naruto is from the land of fire, and it would be a shame if he didn't learn at least one fire jutsu. Even though Asuma's a wind type, and Kakashi's a lightning type, they both know fire jutsus ver well. Lastly, the kyubi chakra seems to be a fire type in itself. Naruto stating it was burning him when he went two tails during the Deidara fight.

Getting fire isn't copying Sasuke. Most of the Konoha ninjas, even the hokage, can use fire jutsu since they are from the land of fire. Jiraiya seemed to be the best at using it, in fact. And if you don't want Naruto completely countering Sasuke, then the only element left is earth (since water counters fire, and lightning is a jutsu Sasuke is a prodigy at manipulating), which I don't see Naruto using. Not to mention earth would be useless against Sasuke, whom Naruto wishes to defeat. He'd never willingly learn to manipulate it.

Control over the very battlefield is hardly useless.
At the risk of repeating myself I'm more interested in transformations and other ways of utilizing his demon.
We're getting ahead of ourselves, even without a second element he has to master the wind rasengan and develop his own jutsu. I also wonder if he'll ever learn about what made his father so powerful (or did I just miss it?) and maybe pick up a trick or two.

I never said control over the battle field is useless. But as for the kyubi. I'm still indifferent to that. Naruto doesn't like using it anymore and it seems likely that he will lose it to akatsuki in the future, anyway(though through dem he will live somehow of course). It also seemed like his wind jutsu has been decided. The Fuuton Rasenshuken, which still needs completion, but he could also use a second element jutsu to aid him in battle, since Sasuke can surpress kyubi and counter fuutonrasengan with raikiris.
As for why the fourth was so respected and what made him powerful? The main thing was his time/space jutsu, the flying thunder god, as seen in Kakashi Gaiden. It's a story arc only in the manga for those who only watch the anime. But I hope Naruto doesn't learn that technique. I always liked the fact that Naruto wasn't that fast. Learning that jutsu will make him ridiculous.

Hahaha, the Kyubi already makes him ridiculous. I doubt he'll lose it (they'll get close?), though now I'm wondering how Garra is adjusting to life without the demon, emotionally and what it's done to his powers. Will he finally learn to move his ass out of the way of attacks?

I thought they expanded on shadow clones when they revealed he learned what they did once recalled. They've taken hits before and not disappeared until he released them. I'd like that to be a running gag, Naruto having clones running all over the place... This is getting scary-close to my comic so I'll stop there.

Naruto has a huge amount of chakra without the Kyuubi so the shado clones won't bee affected. If he lost the Kyuubi powers that would be cool, but that has already happened to Gaara so I doubt that would happen.

He's also an inefficient chakra user. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he have four times as much as Kakashi, but isn't Kakashi considered to have a low amount of chakara? He wouldn't be able to make more than a handful of clones before he'd start running out of chakra. He'd also loose his accelerated healing and end up in bed as much as Kakashi, though if he was smart that give him plenty of time to talk up Sakura.

not really, i think its the direction he should go and probably one of the only ways he could become as powerful if not more powerful than sasuke. and its not like its just gonan be random, he has a reason to because its his father technique. he would have to become uber powerful to become hokage and defeat pain anyway.

Forget the time skip happening anytime soon or at all. This training session doesn't sound like it'll take that long that it'll require a time skip. It just sounds a lot like the element training Naruto had with Kakashi & Yamato, except this time he'll have to die.

I think that's because fans of the series can never agree on who's black, who's tan, and who's indian in some series. So, the writers try to make the black characters clear by making them as stereotypical as possible in manga/anime. Though luckly, Raven (tekken),Tousen, and Zomari dodged the stereotypical bullet.

I've been getting pretty bored by the anime so I finally said screw it and I read the manga (from Naruto vs. Sasuke before the time jump) and finally got caught up. It honestly amazes me too at how I'm excited for the series again. The Naruto anime was letting me down since Naruto went from someone who improved during the bell fight with Kakashi to an idiot who trips over his own feet, while the manga just shows a steady maturing of his character. I guess you guys were right and I should have been reading the manga all along, I just didn't want to spoil the anime since I planned on sticking to it.

One question tho, I didn't fully understand the Kyuubi yin/yang deal. So half of the Kyuubi is sealed (the part we see speaking), and Naruto has the other half? I'm not fully getting it for some reason.

I wonder why Danzou is only shown with one eye like Madra. Just popped into my head, but I wonder if there's a connection. Both Madra and Danzou want control of Konoha, and Danzou had a say in the destruction of the Uchiha's right? Madra was also angry at the Uchiha's for them turning their backs on him, and he knew all about what and when it was going down to confront Itachi.

I'm not saying their the same ppl, but what if Danzou was Madra's bro or something. Madra (if he is to be believed) didn't kill his brother when he took his eyes, what if he only took one eye. That would explain why Madra only shows his right Sharingan, and why Danzou has his left eye covered (either it's gone from being plucked out, or so no one would realize he had a Sharingan eye).

Anyway just another theory that popped in my head that can be tossed in with the other 1 mil Naruto theories.

I skipped a few weeks as it was becoming a snooze fest IMO, and I come back to watch the hour special to find out Sora is some kinda Kyuubi hybrid? He was injected with Kyuubi chakra remanents and is as powerful as Naruto, demon cloak and all? I guess it's slightly better than all 5 chakra elements kissing lady, and the promise of a Kyuubi vs. Kyuubi fight sounds good, but still seems a bit silly. Either way I hope the filler winds down soon so the anime can get back on track.

Even tho Sasuke isn't my favorite character, I do look forward to his and Naruto's next fight. With the way Naruto's improving, not just in technique but in mind as well, plus with him getting sage chakra, I expect it to go down like this -

They test eachother out, Sasuke gets all cocky after the first round. Naruto gets a smirk and says things are different this time, and Sasuke agrees thinking he's got things easily rapped up with the Mangyo coupled with the last time he whupped up Naruto's whole team. Then Naruto goes Sage Chakra forcing Sasuke to go out, then we go back to the status quo of Sasuke wondering how Naruto got so strong and having to take a step back again :). Tho I wonder if it's too much to ask for Naruto just to decimate him with a fuuton rasengan? Heh.

BTW earlier someone said Pein's new body is Haku, and I think that fits. IMO that's probably how Naruto figures out where Pein's real body is when he fights him, the same way Jiraiya did. By seeing Haku's ice mirror technique in action and seeing his face he'll put it together is my guess. Tho I have to admit it'd make it even more dramatic if when Pein invades Konoha he kills someone important and loses 2 bodies, and to make up for it he takes whoever he kills and makes them a new body along with Jiraiya's body to make up for the 2 he lost.

The entire point really did fly right over Sasuke's head didn't it? He finds out his brother gave up all he held dear to protect Konoha and prevent a war. So what does Sasuke do? Tries to start a war and destroy Konoha. Lol, Itachi's rolling over in his grave. Itachi had the power to capture Naruto, but kept putting it off probably because he saw how much Naruto cared for Sasuke, funny how Itachi turned out.


In fact, even tho Sasuke's a genius at fighting, he's possibly the most stupid char in Naruto heh. Loses his family, so he betrays his pseudo family and tries to kill his new 'brother' because he hates his old brother. Finally gets respect for Itachi, so he repays Itachi's and his gift by destroying that which Itachi gave up everything for. Has now achieved his life long goal, Orochimaru is gone (to our knowledge), yet he seems to always need a goal so he makes up a new one on the spot instead of going back. There's being confused and mixed up, and then there's being square peg - round hole retarded.

Heh, didn't think about them crossing paths in Konoha. Pein holds up Ino's head and asks if Sasuke knew her, then it's revealed he secretly liked her stalker attitude. Then Sasuke sits in a corner and cries for the rest of the year.

Wanting revenge because someone killed the ones you loved is not infantile or emo. In fact, I'm sure it's a common trait all humans would feel in that situation. In fact, it's the most common modus operandi for a character in pretty much every single fictional story. I think, like most interwebers, you just don't like Sasuke for whatever reason, and unjustifiably bash him because of such.

Even tho the fight isn't my favorite, I think it's doing what it needs to now. It's showing Sasuke's not some uber guy who can beat everyone just by looking at them like the begining of Shippuuden was making it look like it would be. He lucked out against Deidara as he almost died, and lucked out fighting Itachi on his death bed who actually wanted Sasuke to win. Now he's being tossed around like a chump. However in the end he'll win, he'll pull out some new Mangekyo Sharingan signature maneuver and incapacitate the 8 tails. It's just that it's doing it in a way that doesn't make Sasuke look Hokage level, but still makes him look like a threat to Naruto.

Sasuke always felt to me like Gohan from DBZ. While Naruto and Goku had to recieve special training to get more powerful, Gohan simply got angry and boom he's a DEM, and Sasuke simply was given uber genes (Sharingan hax, and Orochimaru wanting that Sharigan so he taught him forbidden jitsu and enhancing him with drugs).

BTW don't get me wrong, I don't totally hate Sasuke. I'm fine with the revenge of his clan, a LOT of heroes have had similar stories and backgrounds. I think it's just the way the author gave Sasuke everything and he took it for granted. All the girls in the village wanted him, he's a genius, born with a hax genetic code, wanted and trained by a Sanin not afraid to teach him the uber stuff, everytime he's losing something new happens to his eyes and makes the fight a breeze. It probably is a swerve. Having Sasuke say that just to turn into some uber badass hero at a critical moment and help fight Pein or something. The author has a hard on for Sasuke and won't make him a fully hateable character to Sasuke fans.


However, taking this last chapter as face value, that 5% of me that still cared for the character is out. He already agreed to take KB knowing it would cost Bee his life. He's alrdy spitting on what Itachi did, despite Itachi having the harder time and Sasuke just wallowing in self pity. He's more powerful each time. Now, if he is telling the truth, he's going to kill innocent ppl just because they live in the same village as the Elders.

Sasuke has become as relateable as Orochimaru IMO. I'm not sure how Sasuke fans can still defend the guy at this point and talk like he's some uber avenging do gooder. Sasuke followed Orochimaru and has taken on his "anything it takes" philosophy, just as Naruto became like a little Jiraya, and Sakura a bit more like Tsunade.

That's what I'm seeing. Even though the cloud-nin said her partner was trailing Sasuke's group. I think Zetsu will eat his ass up before he gets a chance to report back to the Raikage. Thus leaving Raikage no choice but to head to Konoha instead. 3 kages throwing it down. :wow:

I'm also gonna to take a wild stab and say Orochimaru comes back and gets Madra's body somehow. They built Oro up for so long, no way he has such a minor presence in the second half of the series. While Tsunade's death is a given. I'm not too sure of what will become of Gai since Kishi said that Lee didn't need to grow up anymore. I'd like to see at least one of the senseis, besides Kurenai who already has a spot reserved due to her pregnancy, make it to the end of the series. Since Asuma bit it, that leaves Gai & Kakashi. Kishi's hint of Kakashi's future being blue pretty much confirms he'll be joining his comrades on the other side. Immortal Gai ftw! :o

If I had a choice personally, Kakashi would live. Naruto has alrdy lost his family and Jiraiya. Both Naruto and Sakura alrdy have a sadness in them over Sasuke leaving. Sasuke lost his entire clan, and Itachi. Sakura will probably lose her mentor in Tsunade. So I don't think team Kakashi really needs another loss to make it any more emotional, they have plenty of that already.

Guy on the other hand could motivate Neji, Ten-ten, and especially Rock Lee. All of which have had minor presences in Shippuuden. I'd like to see those three turn it up a notch as Neji and Lee were impressive in Naruto, but haven't been too impressive in Shippuuden.

I do think Kakashi's death would be more memorable and sad. However I think Guy's death would add more overall by making his students go all out in revenge like Asuma did Shikamaru, where Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke alrdy have more than enough motivation. I also think Kakashi would make a good Hokage temp replacement until Naruto is ready to take the mantle.

This week tho he mentioned he now has a power strong enough to destroy Konoha, no need to mention it mentally where no one can hear unless he meant it. Sasuke's a popular character despite how he annoys some of us, and I thought the author would do something to salvage him and make him a good guy again. I'm just starting to have trouble seeing what it could be other than a cop out deal during a fight with Naruto where he realizes friendship overcomes all and he suddenly forgets about his clan, bro, the ppl he's killed, his betrayals, and helps Konoha.

It seems the version I read made a mistake in their trans. Because Naruto already has rasengan (which he still hasn't perfected btw), and that's a jutsu that already blows crap up. This jutsu appears to do the same thing based off what we saw this chapter, which seems pointless. I can only hope Naruto's "that jutsu" is something more verastile than just blowing things up.

I'm happy that I was proved wrong. I thought KB was brought in solely to get pwned by Sasuke, yet he did the pwning and even Sasuke's 'win' turned out to be a fluke. He's still alive, and will apparently still play a part in things. It also makes me think KB is going to be a ***** to kill as he can just sacrifice a tentacle each time he's near death. He also seems to get along with his tailed beast enough it'd give up an apendage for him.


Also seems Pein wasted no time in destroying Konoha.

I don't mean to keep guessing, but with the current turn out. I'm gonna say Raikage goes after Akatsuki and is killed. Pein kills Tsunade. That leaves Naruto to lead the charge of a select group of Konoha ninja, and Killer Bee to lead the group they introduced last manga, and they team up to take on Akatsuki.

Seriously, I'm glad he's out and about. While he has a good relationship with his tail demon. He lacks what Naruto has, the right to roam freely as oppose to being kept in the village which the Konoha elders wanted. This will definitely lead to them meeting one another.

And Pein ... geez. That **** the long hair Pein did was sick. Pulling the dude's soul out like that after reading through his brain. :wow: Of course it seems to only work when the he has an hand on you. So long distance attacks should keep him in check. :o

Ya, had to search for it, but it's chapter 415, page 15. The Frog Sage says the Sage Chakra takes in energy from outside, so instead of getting tired you actually recover more quickly. However I might have been wrong and the Fox may still make him recover more quickly because the Frog Sage said, "We...The demon fox's chakra makes the recovery even quicker." So maybe it wouldn't hurt if he was taught to control the Fox. However the Sage Chakra (according to the last chapter) seems to make him very resistant to damage, add in constant recovery and he may not need the Fox anyway. However if the Fox's powers add to it, Sage Chakra + controlled Kyuubi I guess would make him very powerful.

I guess I just didn't remember it right, I thought they said it made him recovery faster than the fox, but it was that he constantly recovers.

I'm guessing the pwn Pein route since she had flashbacks about Naruto being 'the chosen one'. Atleast it looks like Naruto's ready since he learned his frog fu basics. Tho I was hoping he wouldn't have to wear the elder frog on his shoulder...but after the explanation it does make sense.

I'm mixed on Kakashi vs. Pein. Jiraiya lost to Pein, but that was against all the bodies. Kakashi is facing off against just one, but at the same time it's the main Pein body most of us recognize Pein by. Kakashi should be able to hold his own for a bit atleast.

Also was interesting that it hinted that Kakashi's sharingan picked up possible hints of Pein behind him. Maybe during his fight Kakashi will learn the truth and be able to give Naruto the last hint he needs to figure Pein out. Tsunade also looks ready to fight Pein.

I do hope that the fight between Kakashi and Pein lasts a long time though Kakashi basically got owned, using up two raikiri's. He also got stabbed in the shoulder with one of the chakra receivers and was blown away with ease along with his summon while Pein just stood there.

IMO this is looking bad for a few characters,

Tsunade gave her defiant hero speech, can be found before many a' characters deaths. She had flash backs of Jiraiya, and talked about leaving it to the new generation much like Jiraiya and Sarutobi before their deaths. Also Danzo stopped the frog, and Danzo has been very against Tsunade. So I could see Tsunade dying because Naruto didn't make it back to help (i.e. her definantly denying Naruto's whereabouts to Pein), and Naruto later finding out he didn't make it back in time because of Danzo.

Also worried about Kakashi's fate. He has 2 Pein's on him, and has yet to even hurt one. The next Manga's entitled, "Kakashi's hope" meaning Kakashi is in a very desperate situation and something happens, or he figures something out.

Either way it's looking like a build up to Naruto coming too late, and getting back to a Konoha in ruin.

I was wondering when Danzou would show his ugly mug. My guess is that he wants to save the village his way to gain favor from the elders. Unless he's going with the "if I can't have it (Hokage/Konoha), then no one can" ideology. Which would mean he's just gonna let Pein have his way with Konoha and then his group would rebuild it from the bottom up.

Can't wait to see how Kakashi handles the current situation he's in. He can't even touch the lead Pein. Now he has the advanced human puppet Pein to deal with. His "hope" better not be where he's hoping that Konoha will prevail without him now that he's dead crap. :cmad: He can't die yet. :csad:

The Cloud team that the Raikage sent should give Konoha some time. They arrive in time to join in the party. And stall long enough for Naruto to arrive in the nick of time to save everyone's ass. Except for Tsunade. :csad:

Anyone check out the latest episode ? We finally get a clear picture of what Pein should look like (in terms of color) & what he sounds like. It makes sense that he's pale as a corpse. And I guess the voice fits. I wasn't expecting much expect that he would sound bad ass.

Maybe what Jiraiya figured out was how Pein bounces around so they can triangulate where he's currently at....I don't know, it's hard to figure out where they're going with Pein's secret. I mean I doubt he's just hovering around a tree watching, or hiding underground. There's got to be some next level **** going on with where Pein's hiding.

Well I'm not sure if Naruto has a defense against Amaterasu yet. He can use his nature chakra to dispell tsukiyomi but maybe his new wind attack and blow amaterasu back at Sasuke or somewhere else.

Looks like Kakashi has two Pein's to fight now. His other lightning attack looked pretty cool. I do wonder what Danzou's plan is as well.

When I was watching the latest episode. I noticed that the statue that Pein was sitting on has the Rinnegan. Don't remember the manga showing that bit. Since we now know the black piercings serve as a transmitter. Could the huge ass statue be where the signal is coming from ?

Sort of. I say sort of because I see Itachi's power, that Naruto now has in him, being the difference. Naruto on his own. I say not yet.

Without the elder frog Naruto can't summon sage chakra in battle (since you need to be still). If Naruto can find an opening and hide to summon it, I'd say he could take Sasuke. Sage chakra Jiraiya took on all of Pein's bodies at once, and managed to kill one. Sasuke on the other hand damn near blinded himself using Amaretsu once, and still didn't kill Killer Bee with it. He will only use it when he really, really has nothing else to do, hell it took him being 'killed' twice to pull it out (even then the demon fox cloak might neutralize it).

Now Naruto without sage chakra, he has improved a lot. In his fight with the Akatsuki with multiple hearts, he showed an improvement in his use of his shadowclones as distractions while waiting for an opening. His Futon Rasengan would kill Sasuke, but hurt himself as well. However I'd say Sasuke takes Naruto without sage chakra atm.
