Since we know that Minato (4th Hokage, for those that don't know) seperated the chakra of the kyuubi within Naruto... how easy is it going to be for Pain to remove Kyuubi.

I think this is going to be a huge factor in the coming chapters... and could be a huge set up for Naruto defeating Pein.

As far as Nagato, I think he and Madara will be the final villains. And that will be the team up fight for Sasuke/Naruto.

- Team Gai could show up.

- Everyone (random leaf-nins, Hinata, Kiba, etc.) holding back, because they don't want to be a burden, can now jump in since Naruto is currently out of it.

- Cloud messenger team could show up.

The Rinnegan (however you spell it) might also have been too much for him, and he HAD to control other bodies because his was becoming frail. Or it could be that he didn't want to see friends die, had a Sasori episode where he was bringing back friends as puppets like Sasori did his parents, and like said above this is the bi product of either his powers weaking him, or he neglected his body so much to control them it became weak.


Gotta admit....not what I was imagining. I was thinking Naruto would beat those 6 Pein bodies, then eventually have to find the real Pein body and Pein himself be more powerful than any of the other 6 bodies. Looks like he can't fight by himself anymore, with the others having figured out Pein's trick kinda, I'm starting to think Pein/Nagato might not be breathing after this fight.

Also wanted to say I think Nagato is shaping up to be another in the mold of Gaara and Naruto. He almost seems to be Naruto gone wrong in some respects. He's seen tragedy like Naruto is now, he wants peace like Naruto and Jiraya, and he's a 'chosen one' like Naruto, he just went down the wrong path like Gaara (but in a much more extreme way).

I was starting to think it would turn out that Nagato would be Naruto's ultimate enemy, Madra as Sasuke's, then Naruto and Sasuke have one last battle, but not as pure enemies. Seems now that Nagato might not make it to the last arcs of Shippuuden.

We're probably going to see Naruto reaching out to him like he did to Gaara at the end of the Konoha Invasion arc. Who knows ? Nagato might change for the better only to be killed off by Madara. Madara probably already has this thing figured out. With Zetsu at his side. I find it hard to believe that he didn't. He's waiting to make his move when Pein/Nagato is no longer useful to whatever his cause may be. Good **** overall.

Naruto can't feel his chakra because the assumption is that he's dead. Not taken. I think there's more involved in "taking" the body than just picking it up, and slinging it over your shoulder.

We know the bodies need to be taken to the tower in Rain. We haven't seen Kakashi move from under the debris since that particular scene.
In order for anything to be done after the body makes it to the tower, Nagato needs to be there, since he's basically the puppet master. It's already been proven that Nagato is pretty much right over Konoha.

So, why, again, do you think Kakashi has been taken?

on the plus side, unlike DBZ death actually means something

something i've always wondered is how kids turn into their adult counter parts in this series
i mean the jounin's seem so different from the genins in the early chapters(watch the show) and we're being told that everyone used to be brain dead genins
it's really interesting

apart from Sasuke and Jiraiya, whom pretty much stay the same person (Jman has like 4 seconds stretches of adulthood at a time)

Japanese language is all about hitting the bushes and not attacking the point directly, while conveying the point precisely. Kishi obviously doesn't want to say "Kakashi's dead" because it's not "polite". He's saying Kakashi is no longer there and not saying that he died, but this doesn't make Kakashi any less of a corpse.

There's no much room for theories with all of what it has been given. Besides, it was time for Kakashi to pass away since Naruto and Sasuke already surpassed him.

I agree with your post, but this part made me chuckle a bit thinking of something else that goes along with what you're saying.

We have a clear death with Shizune, see her soul sucked out, and have Konoha's top experts on the method clearly say She's dead, and yet it's still heavily debated on the net. Shizune (even tho I liked her) is not a main character, she's a support, and yet ppl refuse to consider that she's dead.

Then you have an ambiguous death of a main character, with double talk, misdirections, and no clear image of the death shot, and an image of one of the slugs on his body that Tsunade sent out to protect ppl (why would the slug protect a dead body?). Yet it's a closed case with a lot of ppl, it's just accepted that Kakashi died. Personally, I highly doubt Kakashi went down with a whisper.

So not having seen a clear shot of what happened, I'm going to put her on the same list as Kakashi. It would be unpredictable if Hinata died, as she is to Naruto what Chi-chi was to Goku in a sense. However they've set up a Sakura and Naruto romance all of Shippuuden, and that's what Naruto really wants. So if they set those two up, Hinata's main love interest role is gone, and that's all she's been for awhile. So as much as I hate to say it, she is kinda cannon fodder now despite her role in the original Naruto (just like Kiba, atleast Tenten has a role as Neji's girl). So it's possible, but I'll wait.

Awesome chapter all around. Never thought the person to tell Naruto who his father is would be his actual father. Always thought it would be Jiraiya (when he was alive of course), Kakashi or Tsunade. It should be a interesting conversation between the two next week.

The more and more it carries on tho the more I realize Naruto will probably never get that same connection that Killer B had with his tailed beast. The Fox seems willing to had over power in self interest up to a point, but Naruto can't control the higher levels.

However, this current arc has the feeling of an end to one thing and the beginning of another. Like it would be a perfect place to start a new chapter with the rebuilding of Konoha. They could always leave that for the end of the manga of course (i.e. skip ahead 5 years in the last few pages, showing a hokage Naruto in a rebuilt Konoha), but I doubt Naruto would set off for Akatsuki while ppl are lying half dead and the Konoha in rubble.

Then of course there's still Danzo's role in things. Will he try and take over Konoha in the chaos, if he does will Naruto be imprisoned? This manga really is at an unpredictable point atm IMO.

Yep, he still has one clone left to summon. But I think Nagato will just die out or retreat only to be kill by Madara. The guy wasn't looking too good the last time we saw him. Blood coming out the mouth and whatnot.

I only remember the key part from that chapter. Completely forgot about the ying & yang stuff. Maybe he sealed the other half in Naruto's mother. I mean her status is still unknown. And she's the only person I see that would willing subject themselves to such a technique. She gets the other half sealed in her and bails Naruto just to avoid the possibility of the 2 halves merging. Unless Sasuke's dad or a young Itachi secretly came forth and offered up Sasuke. :huh:

I was thinking about the other half of the Fox, maybe that's what that reaper technique took when the 4th died. It was said that the technique the 3rd used on Orochimaru was the same as the 4th used on the Fox. The reaper thing took Orochimaru's arm (would have taken more if it could), maybe the reaper took half the Fox and the 4th stopped it after that so he could seal the rest in Naruto before he died.

I actually ragged on Naruto pretty good, but I kind of like it now. Of all the writers out there, it was Stephen King's books that got me into Naruto. 3 in his dark fantasy series The Dark Tower had excessive flashbacks/sit-down-and-chat moments and after reading those I decided to give Naruto another go.

It depends how it plays out. Konan and an half dead Nagato could retreat. Then Madara kills Nagato off, causing Konan to defect to the only threat to Madara.

Nagato dies out. Konan retreats back to Madara, who simply doesn't give a ****. Thus pissing Konan off, who then flees back to Konoha.

Like I said. It depends how it plays out. Who knows, maybe she's like Kakashi, who once said something about revenge being stupid.

you mean turn all the bad guys good? well naruto prolly does that the least. I mean, the only really bad guy that he turned good so far was garra, and than the sand just sorta followed suit when they turned good. (just like the followed suit when they attacked kanoha.) and most of the badguys just get killed off. and more good guys have gone bad too. like sasuke, orochimaru, heck, even pain started out as more of a good guy.

As for all long going animes converting enemies to friends, I'd agree with most of that list, but I wouldn't put One Piece in it personally. All of Luffy's nakanama were essentially good guys in sad or difficult circumstances. Franky and Robin are the only ones who would remotely come close to 'bad guys' at first, but Franky was more like a rival, and Robin actually had good intentions.

I didn't really like this chapter. But, what can you do. Nagato was a waste of a character, in my opinion.

I am happy that kakashi isn't dead, although it would have made for more drama for him to die. I do wonder, though, was the convo about kakashi being a consideration for hokage, should something happen to tsunade, forshadowing. I can't see them giving it to naruto just yet. Plus, there's going to be conflict with Danzou with in the next arc or two. Could this be the time for Kakashi to take over?

I was the same at first too. Now that we've seen Nagato in his full 'glory', I'm not sure he'd stand a chance sadly. At first I thought Nagato was some uber badass, hell, I thought he'd be the ultimate villain for a long time. I mean he did destroy Konoha. His 6 bodies were good fighters, they did take down Jiraiya, Kakashi, Shizune, and a lot of others. It's just that once Naruto found out where he was the fight was over. I'd imagine Neiji or a Sharingan user could find him easy enough. Madra would probably see thru his technique, run right towards him, and have Nagato in a brain freeze before he could react.

On the other hand for a non Sharingan user Pein was a great test for Naruto to put him on that next level since Naruto had to go thru all the bodies first. I just think Nagato would have been better served if he was still physically fit himself.

even if you find out where his main body is(the one that's probably not as worthless as it appeared to be when naruto found it) the other bodies aren't gonna just take a lunch break while you make your way over there

plus you can't really put them down because their formation keeps the important reviver in the back and the energy eater in the front...and the village crusher in the middle...
(and the giant animal summoner somewhere in there too)

Honestly, I'd rather see Naruto end up with Sakura at this point. In Naruto, no, IMO she was too *****y, and too blinded by Sasuke. Now, I think Naruto and Sakura have formed a deep bond and kinda deserve eachother for all they've went thru. There have even been hints that Sakura is finally coming around, plus Naruto's always like Sakura. For Sakura to just get brushed aside, and then eventually go back to Sasuke would be such a waste and be a huge setback for her character.

Hinata on the other hand just got the guts to tell her biggest secret to the person she was the most afraid of hearing it. It's time for her to prove she's not just the girl who blushes and likes Naruto, and become a much more developed character.

They both happened before recent events. I just cited Gaara's death since it was the first death that ended up with someone being revived We've now seen two sets of instances of techniques bringing ppl back to life. I mean if Sasuke were to die next saga, I probably wouldn't take it serious and expect someone to revive him rather than seriously think about the death of an important character.

Jiraiya and Asuma's deaths were well done ones, and ones that are what should have happened to Konoha. Asuma's death pushed Shikamaru to be more, same with Jiraiya's death to Naruto. With Konoha they just lost material possesions, and will probably be bitter towards Nagato rather than saddened and seeing the useless of fighting.

It's not a huge gripe, and I'll still read and enjoy the manga, it just took the potency out of death in the Naruto world to me, if no one else.

we will have to disagree

for one, the true "cheapen" would be if the layered and vital characters died deaths in such a way that those K-man and S-lady died. And to do so alongside hundreds of faceless other characters
(man what if the 3rd and Jiraiya were in the village too and they crushed, would that not feel a little cheaper then the deaths they actually got?)

the 3 previous deaths of vital characters in the series have been some of the most moving moments in manga lure, and you would honestly have Kakashi,
instead of have a chapter to flesh out his death like asuma, and resolve many of his inner conflicts like J-man with a boat load of closure...
just go out the way he did?

that would be "cheap"

with garra and kakashi, and Shizune, the deaths weren't "death" they were just situations of a fight
not so much different from when someone flatlines and David Hasselhof preforms CPR
in the world of ninjas that can stop your heart with a look, old lady bringing Garra back was much more like miracle CPR (with a price) to a character that was flatlined then ok let's bring back Captain America because sales are lacking 5years after we killed him, or "goku's not dead yet, we can't bring him back with earth balls AGAIN, so lets go use the balls of another planet"

if they brought the 3rd back now it would cheapen everything that came before

but even Nagato said it
"I still have time to SAVE everyone I killed when i got here"
not so much like when he revives his own bodies
implying that death really works like someone sinking in an ocean, if you get to them fast enough and you have the rare jutsu, you can sacrifice you life and save them

if this was Dragonball, they'd be wishing Asuma back as we speak
or even the 4th

in conclusion

1 - The deaths Kakashi and Shizune had would truly be cheap if left unchecked
when it comes to not feeling "robbed" of your money as a reader, one can only ask that characters they've grown to love experience deaths that have a good sense of closure
and to this day that's one thing Kishi has been doing better then anyone(especially in the anime when that sadness and sorrow track starts playing)

that's why i was one of the many advocating that Kman wasn't "dead"

2 - kishi isn't DC and marvel, who do clean ups to their universes' "worthless characters" on a mass scale and call it "crisis this or secret war that"
what happened to everyone in that village in hindsight was analogous to the god of death sweeping through taking everyone and ten minutes later facing the rhetoric of a the boy who can change people...
so he undid his work

moreover a good chapter should never have more then 2 main characters dying, that would be..."cheap"

Just read this weeks manga, both Shippuuden and Bleach felt short this week. Looks like the spoilers you feared were right. The first half of this week's manga was awesome, the second half not so much. I think everyone here guessed Danzou would try to pull a power grab and become Hokage...I just didn't think Konoha was so easily swayed. I mean that dialogue...

"I say Kakashi"

"Kakashi? Yeah, he's awesome, trained by the 3rd, he's powerful, he trained the guy who just saved all our asses!!! Woot Kakashi!!!!".

He's going to get there and find the guy who (I'm pretty sure) ordered all of the stuff with the Uchiha's to happen in the first place in power.

I'll be pissed tho if Sasuke gets there and Naruto's weakened still so he gets another easy win over Naruto. Or if he beats Naruto flat out at full strength. After all naruto's been thru, and all the training, and Sasuke just being handed skills by Itachi...I'd like to see Naruto totally outclass Sasuke and Sasuke having to run away with his tails inbetween his legs admitting Naruto was the better man that day.

- The cloud team were pretty funny.

- If the ****in' high council or whoever the **** they were knew where Danzou was during the whole the ordeal. They'd take Kakashi. Such ******** I tells ya'! Everyone put their lives on the line while this dude hid like a *****. And he gets awarded the 6th hokage position! :cmad:

- I'm glad Sasuke is coming. Since Danzou is hokage now. He'll be easy to find & kill off since everyone will expect him to be on the front line. He can't hide in the shadows like he did when Pein came to town. He'll lose all credibility & what little respect he has from everyone that isn't ROOT.

- If his first orders has anything to do with Naruto in a negative way. He's (Danzou) ****ed. The village will most likely split than follow any ****ed up orders that would harm Naruto.

My guess is still a pretty old one, Danzou's linked with Madra (brother, shadow clone, who knows). He convinces everyone to put Naruto under guard. He gives the, "Naruto is too powerful, and important to Konoha to risk. We can't let Akatsuki have the savior of our village who also happens to hold the 9-tails." speech.

Without Tsunade to aruge it the council easily agrees. Weakened Naruto is locked up under house arrest. Meanwhile Sasuke arrives, and Danzou secretly gives him the keys to the city so to speak. Sasuke runs amock. Eventually Naruto finds out and Kakashi busts him out. Meanwhile Sakura talks to Sasuke and at some point Naruto shows up.

Or something like that lol. Realized I was rambling on too much so had to cut it short :). BTW, I wonder if Naruto will go back to the frog place so he can leave more clones under that oil? As of right now he shouldn't have any xtras to help summon his sage chakra in a fight.
