I've watched the first episode (Japanese version, not sure if there's a dubbed one, probably wouldn't even bother with it anyway) and am now downloading the second one.

If that first episode is any indication, there's two aspects of this show: action/drama and comedy. When tries the action/drama part, it's pretty good. When it tries to be funny, it sucks.

I noticed all that.

But I just didn't care about Lee winning to be honest.

His speed was impessive after he took the wieghts off (And what the hell were those things made of?http://img37.photobucket.com/albums/v113/Vegenom/Smilies/wtf.gif) but I think because the opponent was just one of those "I'll stand here and be invulnerable" types the fight just wasn't brutal enough for my liking. :o

How could you not want Lee to win? His determination should be admired. He has no natural talent what so ever but works harder than anyone else to achieve his goal to become a ninja. You didn't feel for him at all? cold blooded MONSTER!!:mad:

I think its because you never really saw the build up and character development of both Lee and gaara in the previous eps. By then you should really want gaara to lose and Lee to win.

Lee is a side character anyway, he only turned up in that season.

You should watch NARUTO vs NEIJ

Neij uses a SIXTY FOUR hit combo on him:D

In fact just watch it from the damn beginning at least 10 eps. If you don't like it then, there is no hope:(

Not really, the revenge theme is one that's ripe in anime and kung fu movies. And he's more of the typical silent but badass anime character.

Yeah, but surely if he wanted to remain in conrtol, Shukaku would have pulled Gaara back in. It's just a bit convienient that Gaara remianed outside.

And I'm also a bit iffy on the whole Hyuuga Head/Branch family thing. I understand that:

The Branch family's only purpose is to protect the Head family.

The Curse Seal is a weapon of sorts for the Head family to use against the Branch. And aslo Seals up the Byakugan after the Branch member dies.

What I don't get is how the families were chosen. It said that Hinita's father became the Head family because he was slightly older than his twin, Neji's father. How does that work?

Does that mean Hinita's little sister will join the Branch family because she isn't the oldest? Probably not. the only way any of this could make sense is that the Twins were the first ever Hyuuga to live in Konoha. Which I doubt.

Also, what good is the seal (in terms of protecting the secret after death) if a Head member's body is examined by it's enemy?

Actually I've been watching it for a while, I just never knew there was a thread on it here.


My question isn't about him dying, there is no doubt each Hokage is dead because of that technique. I've seen every episode so far and read pretty far into the manga but not all the way. On some of the Naruto sites I go to they say that technique has another price.

The Sealer and the Sealed remain in the death gods stomach for eternity fighting each other (obviously not the case for the fourth). Just wondering if any of you knew if that was true.

Wow, Tsunade is horrible at hand-to-hand fighting. Granted she is amazingly strong, but whats the point if you can even touch your enemy.

She didn't even seem to know any offensive ninja techniques. It doesn't make sense that she would know only healing techniques. She must have learned some offensive fighting at the academy.

I never said that was the only reason, but it is probably contributing. I know having your ports configured badly on DSL can cause BT to go slow. I would suggest checking tech forums and such, I have seen a few tutorials on configuring your computer to work best with BT.

I don't know about that, Vegeta has been known to give up a few times. He ran from Frieza and gave up after Brolly nailed him just to name two. His battle of wills with bebi was a bit redeeming, but I'm not sure how he would handle 72 hours straight of being stabbed by katanas or reliving his worst memories.

Goku might be able to do it, he has never given up.

Yeah but katanas don't do jack to a sayan in the phsycial world so I don't see how mental ones would do anything either. Since the pain is supposed to be the same. Sayans can take ALOT of pain. Besides Goku is telepathic, hell ROSHI is telepathic

The Katanas aren't real, it's an attack on the persons mind directly, so their physical durability is meaningless. They experience the pain as if they were actually being peirced by the swords.

No doubt they can take a lot of pain, but everyone has limits. I would say 72 hours of swords stabbing each part of your body again and again would be a bit much for anyone to take.

Goku's been severely beaten before, he took the pain, but none of the things he's gone through have been constant torture for 3 days straight. Not to use a movie as proof again, but when fighting Brolly, Goku was screaming out in pain, so obviously it had some effect.

Most of his fights (despite lasting forever in the real world) never last more than an hour (take the fusion for example, only Li Shenlong lasted the full half hour).

As Nathan said, Itachi could also have him being pounded on by a DBZ villain in his mind for that amount to time. All minds have their limits.

There something I was thinking about pertaining to Rock Lee.

We all know he can't use ninja techniques, but given his abilities with Lotus he obviously has some control over his Chakra. He was able to release the Chakra gates and increase itse flow. He just can't mold his Chakra into the seals. But I was thinking about moves like Rasengan, do you think he could use that since he requires no seals, just control?

Even if he could use it, I doubt they would write it that way, since his main role is to be the TaiJutsu character, the one who fights with his body, but any thoughts on that?

Even if it's hard as a rock, Lee was moving so fast the environment was tearing up around him. With that kind of momentum and his strength Gaara's bone should have shattered.

Then why didn't the sand left on his body move around? You never see it move (unless you count the motion of falling off his body). With the power behing his movements he could have just thrust two fingers forward into one of the small gaps in the armor of sand and punctured into Gaara's body. If the shield of sand coudn't keep up with Lees movements in his normal state, what makes you think that the armor of sand can keep up with him during primary lotus.

I only mentioned Primary Lotus since that was the reason for him opening the gates. Remember, the sand could barely keep up with Lee after just removing the weights, let alone with the four gates opened.

I'm not sure if you notice, but the shield of sand couldn't keep up at all, with the speed at which Lee was moving Gaara, the shield was nowhere even near his body. Lee could do whatever he wanted as long as he still moved at that speed and the shield would be useless.

Suppose he just hit him in the chest to go in one direction then in the back for another, he would still be moving faster than the shield could keep up, and certain areas would receive the full force of Lee's strength.

But ok, I'll lay off that point for a second. He's hitting him all over and bits of the armor all over his body was falling off. So why not attack one of the gaps in the armor. Hitting one or two of those spots would have put Gaara out of the match.
