Has any one been reading Invincible? I just can’t wait for the next issue to come out, even if its late. What do you all think will happen?

i just got Invincible #12

Written by: Robert Kirkman
Art by: (A) Ryan Ottley and (C) Bill Crabtree
Color: Full Color
Pages: 32
Format: Monthly Ongoing Series
Price: $2.95
Order Code(s): FEB041318

The Concept:

Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age, except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. And now he¹s begun to inherit his father's powers. It all sounds okay at first, but how do you follow in your father's footsteps when you know you will never live up to his standards?

This Issue:

"Perfect Strangers," Conclusion. Mark's world comes crashing down around him. After the events of last issue, Mark is left wondering how he'll survive. You have front row seats as Mark comes face to face with the most deadly foe of his short-lived superhero career. It's all been leading up to this, and you do not want to miss this

I just finished issue #12. After I first read that shocking last page of issue 7 with the Guardians of the Globe I figured there would be some rational explanation... and sure we got the explanation but it wasn't anything like I expected. Seems Kirkman isn't afraid to shake things up a bit.

And anyone who likes Invincible (or zombies) should check out Kirkman's The Walking Dead, really great book too. I have no doubt that Robert Kirkman will be one of the biggest names in the biz few years from now. :)

I finally picked up the first two trades recently, and I really like it, although Image's Noble Causes is my favorite of their superhero books. Any fans of Invincible or Fantastic Four, or X-Statix would do themselves well to check out the Noble Causes trades, and the upcoming launch issue of the ongoing series in July.

hey, random question...Spoiler I guess.

In issue 8, theres that whole business with Samford and Samson at the funeral...something about the Guardians "abandoning Samson when he needed them most" (not verbadim)....what was that all about? I think i missed something. Heh yeah, so if someone could help me out with that, Id appreciate it. Thanks

Invincible is a deceptively simple looking book. There's nothing simple about it. It's everything a superhero book should be. I hope it says this good.

Noble Causes is great too. I'm glad to hear its returning in full color and as a full series, not limited tales. Its on my pull list!

Well, they explained that Samson lost his powers and instead of sticking with him, they just voted him off the team.

Check out Kirkman's Walking dead. It kicks major @$$. Great Zombie book. Not about like, a big zombie attack, but what happens after. How do you live in a world, overrun buy brain sucking dead people? It has been a really great book, and I didn't even like horror books up until I read this.

Also he is doing a Savage Dragon mini "God War" And a Super Patriot mini " War on Terror" I bought the first two issues and they are pretty good. I been meaning to get into Savage Dragon, with this mini from Kirkman, I finally got a good reason.

Anybody get issue 15? pretty good. It turns out that because Omni Man killed the Fish king guy, Invincible has to marry his wife and assume the Throne of Atlantis. it's pretty wild. He has to defeat a huge monster then do the do with the fish chick right in front of a crowd of people. Of course he doesn't go through with it. Her servant has been in love with her the whole time and they work out a way for fish lips to nail the queen. We also get a more indepth look at Monster Girl and her problems. The new recruit to the Gardians Bulletproof is about this close to yelling sexual harassment. Funny thing is, it turns out she's 29 and because of her powers she's been aging backwards. And what else...William finds out that Eve is a superhero, you think he woulda known. whatever, he makes her take him out flying like he did Mark. And her words to this. "This is so Gay". Good issue, it also tied into Kirkman's Superpatriot mini.

damnit i missed that one, why can't any of the comic shops that are around me get more then 2 of this title, i mean they get like 50 of spawn and no one buys that.

but i did get 16 seems like something big is coming up with (whats his name) close to finding out who killed the gog and all those guys from the other dimentions being gathered.

Comic-Con 2005: Invincible Joins Marvel
At least for a one issue team-up with your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
by Hilary Goldstein

July 16, 2005 - At today's Cup O' Joe panel, Joe Quesada made an exciting announcement for Robert Kirkman fans. Kirkman's own creation, the superhero Invincible, is going to join forces with Spider-Man in November's Marvel Team-Up #14. This is not an Elseworlds-type tale, but instead a story taking place in Invincible continuity. We caught up with Kirkman before the announcement to discuss the specifics of this unexpected crossover.

IGN: How did this unique opportunity come about? Was it something you approached Marvel with or the other way 'round?

Robert Kirkman: After Team-Up got extended past issue 12 I wanted to do something really cool and just out of the blue, I mentioned to Tom that if they wanted to use Invincible in an issue of Team-Up I knew the guys who owned that character and I could make it happen really easy. To my surprise, Joe Quesada seemed intrigued by the idea. It really was a long shot, I never expected them to go for it--but they did.

IGN: Without giving the plot away, what is it that allows these two characters from different universes to meet up?

Kirkman: Well if anyone is reading Invincible regularly they know there is a villain named Angstrom Levy who has the ability to travel to other dimensions. That has a little bit do do with it--but I don't want to give too much away.

IGN: Marvel has over 5,000 characters to choose from, aside from his obvious popularity, why is Spider-Man the perfect fit for an Invincible team-up?

Kirkman: Aim for the top, man. You think I'm going to have him teaming up with Solo or something? I went for the gold. The opportunity to see Spider-Man and Invincible on a cover together was too much to pass up. Although, more than just Spider-Man appear in the issue. As with ALL issues of Marvel Team-Up--anyone can show up at any time, they don't all have to be on the cover.

IGN: Is this just a fanciful tale or are there plans to have this affect continuity -- either in the Marvel Universe or the Invincible universe?

Kirkman: This is set firmly in Invincible continuity, and will even be reflected in future issues of the title--without infringing on any Marvel tradmarks of course. This is going to be a big deal for Invincible.

IGN: Should we take this as a sign that Invincible might be changing publishers, perhaps not as a regular Marvel U book but as part of Marvel's Icon's lineup?

Kirkman: No, not at all. I'm more than happy with Image Comics and can't see myself changing publishers any time soon. Image has stood by this book from day one and to leave now that it's gained a small bit of popularity just wouldn't be right.

IGN: Do you think this will blossom into a recurring event? Any hopes to say, team up the X-Men with the Walking Dead?

Kirkman: There are currently no plans, but never say never!

The Question

Dude. No one's responded to this in houres. Spiderman and Invincible are crossing over in an upcoming issue of Marvel Team Up. Not only is that a cool cross over, but it's a historicall one. This is the first intercompany cross over in the Marvel Team Up book. Pluss, it's going to be apart of Invincible continuity and probably Marvel continuity. Somone be exited!

This is the first intercompany cross over in the Marvel Team Up book. Pluss, it's going to be apart of Invincible continuity and probably Marvel continuity. Somone be exited!

Invincible newbe here.

All I know is that I love MTU and wish Kirkland wrote Spidey full time. Well, when I heard about the upcoming crossover in November, I figured it wouldn't hurt to do a little homework and get some background story on this Invincible guy. Well, after reading nothing but praise (here and elsewhere), I figured it wouldn't hurt to test the waters a bit. Maybe an issue or two. Well......

I just bought the hardcover on ebay! :D I'm pretty pumped about it! (Hope I haven't set my expectations too high and end up being disappointed.)

I thought it was a great price. Especially after I started pricing back issues. (Buy it now was $21.95 and $4.50 to ship.) Plus, it was a family owned comic book store, which made it all the better.

Can't wait! I'll let you know how it goes.

The thing that I love about the series is how fresh Kirkman keeps it, when he knew he had a hit, he could have played it safe and continued with the same formula, but he mixed it up and told a great story in doing so, each issue is better than the last, and it's always taking risks.

Okay. After reading the hardcover I asked my my favorite comicbook store guy to put it on my pull list, and sent him on a quest for all back issues after #13. I was able to get my hands on everything except 14 ... which was problematic. See, I have this thing about reading everything in order, and so I tried to resist starting in on my stash until I had found #14. I tried real hard. I really did! Next thing I know, I'm closing the cover on 23 and wondering where the heck 24 is. (Is it late or was it out of stock???) I swear, I havent inhaled books this fast since I bought the full run of the Untold Tales of Spider-Man series. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see what Peter Parker thinks of Mark Grayson in MTU!

I love this book! Along with the classic coming of age theme in the forefront, there's just so much fun background stuff to pick up on! (anybody else notice Immortal's wife? :D ) I love the multiple plot lines weaving around each other. Never a dull moment! This is old school comic book writing at its best. I'm glad I came on board!

25 was an awesome hit on the series, Science Dog was kinda poor, he just got knocked to the ground, jet pack busted and he out. To bad he turned out to be an alien that needed help from Mark. I wanted it just to be science Dog, not some guy dresses up as him.

Can you Believe it...TODD NAUCH drew the Monster girl story, damn I was impressed thinking it was someone else, but Nauchs work here didn't really look like he really cared, it was another gimmick to him I guess. still cool to know he drew in it somewhere.

the story at the end with Science Dog was wicked, and kinda funny, he'd been gone a month but returns in forty five minutes. I just thought that was weird.

Nothing short of my ballsack falling off, being attacked by gnomes with spoons and then having a bum spit old wine in my mouth would stop me from getting comics...

what if you lost your job and couldn't get another one for a year?

Anubis

You could always bum some cash from your parents, or wait for the trades and read them at boarders.

of invicible? depends

if it's in perfect condition, but says "Larry's wonderful world of comics Limited Edition" you paid too much

but, if it's in Mint condition and doesn't say taht, it's a good deal, that book can fetch, like, $50

I don't think so. Back when Nolan first revealed his true nature, he specificly stated that his race's blood was so pure, any offspring they have with other races are almost 100% them anyway (the name of their race is escaping me...) that's why he was able to concieve with the bug people and still have a human looking kid

Elijya

yup, there're two different editions of Invincible #1. The original, which is worth $50 and upwards right now (in perfect shape) and the reprint, which has the Larry's Comics stamp, which is worth $15, tops

Elijya what the Shadaloo Europe ?

Elijya
10-07-2005, 04:39 PM
here on hype (and on many message boards), sometimes users form 'groups', which are largely arbitrary and just for fun (I see you're a member of Lost Souls, which is another one). In this case, Shadaloo is the longest lasting group on Hype, started by the poster E. Bison in early '04 based on the fictional organization from the video game Street Fighter
