The art kicks HUMONGOUS ass in this book, but i dnt like the way batman was just a shadow seemd almost like he was avoiding drawing him, but still kicked ass!!! cant wait to get my hands on the special edition :D

I don't know, i always found one of the most menacing and evil things about batman was his appearance in full, rather than hiding in shadows he instill fear with the vision of himself, but i love the art in arkham asylum and think perhaps it wouldn't have worked as well with a full view of bats! Just my two-cents :)

I don't know, i found it disconnected me (the reader) from batman a bit, and lost his human side, which to me was the only resaon he DIDN'T belong in arkham, he still had a human part to him

I think it showed him as a force. That line "Stronger than this, stronger than madness." exemplifies that. If he had been just the scared boy in the costume he thought he was at the beggining the Asylum would have consumed him and he would have been just another inmate. But he found out he was more. He kind of proved that nut of a doctor right in that he was more than just a man. They gave him an almost mystical quality. I really enjoyed that as I LOVE the macabre aspect of Batman.

I suppose you have a valid point, i just didn't connect with the art for batman, the rest were perfect they emobdied the characters IMO perfectly, all as i said except for batman, for some reason i did not like how he was presented, perhaps he was to dark in this book for my likings, but i do not think it should of been done differently the book is almost perfection

His face got scarred through an explosion, not acid (BTAS). Right before the explosion occured, he was unconscious with half his face touching the ground. Hence the reason it looks like a straight line....because of how his face was positioned during the explosion.

Not when it comes to Dave McKean. Sale's Joker is weak. He lacks menace and is exagerated to the point of appearing cartoonish. I love Sale, and I love that he draws a Batman universe that is almost dreamlike. However, his Joker is weak. His Two-Face on the other hand is fantastic, as is his Scarecrow, Poisen Ivy, Riddler, and Batman.

WHAT? Jim Lee can't hold a candle to the likes of Norm Beryfogle, Eduardo Risso, Darwyn Cooke, Neal Adams, or countless others. He is too technical. There is none of the macabre and mystery in his work. It's great for Superman, but his Batman is increadibly dissapointing.

I don't collect the comics, I only get them when they come out on trade paperback (for cost and I just don't really care about collecting them). And since nowadays we can't really afford a bunch of TPBs and the most recent books in the library is the Fugitive arc, I'm not really well versed in modern Batman. :(
