View Full Version : Most savage beatings ever!!!

Who got the worst beating you have ever seen? Was it Spidey vs Juggernaut? Hulk vs whoever? JLA vs Doomsday? What are some of the most savage beatings you have ever seen?
Me, I would go with the recent Invincible vs Omniman in Robert Kirckman's Invincible # 12. Invincible was beaten to within inches of his life by his own father. and if that wasn't enough, thousands of innocent bystanders got killed in the fight. It was a dragon ball Z level of punishment the kid took. And the whole battle was heightened by the emotional element of the whole thing. The betrayal, the anger, the guilt, made it even more powerful. One of the best i've ever seen.

Right. :o
The Hulk's whole schtick is laying down insanly bad ass kickings. He beat The Abomination into a coma for two years once. He cracked his skull open on another, ripping his eye out of his head in the process. His fight with Wolverine in the Six Hours mini was brutal, mostly for Wolverine. The Hulk vs. Thor in Thor #385 was pretty hardcore.
The Hulk fighting his "shadow version" for 11 hours straight. It was pretty funny because his evil shadow thing was going all out on The Hulk for 11 hours, and The Hulk hadn't even lost his breath in that time. :D
Juggernaut vs. Venom from The Madness mini some years ago. Hmmmmm, Thor and The Juggernaut have had a couple of really good throw downs too.

That's what I said, bith battles. First one was around Hulk #300, second one way 20 something issues later. Both times The Hulk pretty much took on all of Marvel Earth himself, and won.
Hulk wasn't mindless when he fought Onslaught either. Common misconsception. ;)

Yeah, he killed Supes each day as he went back through time.
The heroes discovered the secret of Hyper-Time or some such nonesense.( Time not being linear, or branching, criss-crossing at times) I mean, all they had to do was ask Reed Richards, right?:)
How was he killing Supes? Just physically kicking his ass until he died?

He was imbued powers by the QUINTESSENCE. He deepfried him, gave him a kryptonian virus, impaled him with a Krytonian metal shard, and even turned him into living kryptonite ( to die slowly)
He basically treated Superman the same way Superman could treat a normal human!
Wow.
Why'd they give him those powers? Aren't they supposed to be damned near all wise or something? :D

I forgot the actual reason why ( Hmmm.. Might have to read it again).....maybe to fix the whole Kansas blowing up thing, not completely sure.
Gog was a minister named William, of a Church completely devoted to Superman as its messiah. Clark sees this and feels obligated to tell William ( who, by the way, as a boy was the sole human survivor of the Kansas incident) that he is not the messiah and tells him that through his previous inaction (Kingdom Come) might have been the cause of it.
.....So logically (in William's warped mind) if Superman is not "christ", he must be the "anti-christ". Whew!
Basically, thats why!:)

yup and she nearly dies. It was around Uncanny X-Men 328 or so.
I've always thought the Spidey Vs Lizard from Torment (spiderman 1-5) was brutal. It's the only time in comics I found myself shakey after reading it because I felt for the character so much.
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that The Fury was pretty much the most bad ass character ever during Alan Moores little run. All of the remaining hero's of Earth-238 are huddled together, villians and all. The Fury's breaking through the wall. Captain U'K's talking to her husband.
"Don't you understand?!!?! We aren't going to win this time!"
Fury breaks through, and just decimates everyone. Captain U.K's husband gets her in this dimensional transporter thing, and just has enough time to send her away, before The Fury gets his throat in his hand and crushes his throat to death, right in front of her. The Fury killed dozens of super hero's in minutes. Kids (The MiracleMan family) woman...everyone. Just went through them, silently annihilating everyone in the most efficent way. The Fury beating up Cap was insanly brutal as well. Cap gets the drop on him, Fury doesen't even bother to turn around, he just smashes him in the face with his hand, beats the living **** out of him while he proceeds to kill a bunch of people in the Special Executive. Beats him up later on as well, he's just got his head in his hand, kind of dragging him around. Just...wow. :(

This is from Miricale Man (Marvel Man) right? I always wanted that series, but the only copies of collected editions I saw where $200 dollars plus, and I aint hurtin that bad to read it. I did read in a Wizard where one of Miricale Man's side kicks went nuts, got god like power, and killed a bunch of heros in a massive fight. he was stopped only after getting a steal girder or something teleported in his head or something. Then Miricale man crushed his head, just the description of that one event made me beg for a reprint of the series. ( All this is as best as I can remember from a secondary source so if anything is wrong please correct me.)
Yeah, the youngest member of the MiracleMan family was left normal, the oldest one was left with amnesia. He met up with "Kid MiracleMan" years ago. He'd remained in his powerful form for years, it had taken over. Kid Miracleman didn't kill a bunch of hero's, he just kicked the **** out of MiracleMan, I mean, bad. I just can't describe it. The way the bruises and the blood were drawn, damn. Fight ended when he accidently said his "magic" word and he was transformed back in a 12 year old human. Absolutely great comics, some of the best, ever. I've read just about everything MiracleMan related as well, got a wee bit more to go.

The most recent battle between Hulk and Silver Surfer had the most badass, savage beating ever. It goes something like this: Hulk sees SS and he's like hey, that's one of my friends... And SS starts beating Hulk's ass out of nowhere! So Hulk and Hulk's friends are trying to beat up SS when Hulk finally broke the control disk that was forcing SS to fight Hulk...
SS: "You... Broke the disk. I'm... Free. Thank y--
(Hulk smashes SS into the ground) FTOOOOM!
Crowd: (*Cheering like crazy) "Rrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Hulk keeps smashing...
Crowd: "Rrrrrraaaaaaaaaaa--" *CRUNCH!*
(Everyone's facial expression turns from excitement to shock and horror and everyone in the stadium goes silent)
Hulk: "Grrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
KRRRRRAAAAAAAAKOOOOOM!
Crowd: "..." (Everyone's mouth is still hanging open in shock)
It was so great for so many Hulk fans to see that one guy that has always beat the Hulk get his ass kicked like that.

That's what I said, bith battles. First one was around Hulk #300, second one way 20 something issues later. Both times The Hulk pretty much took on all of Marvel Earth himself, and won.
Hulk wasn't mindless when he fought Onslaught either. Common misconsception. ;)
why do you think he wasnt mindless???
the beating ult hulk gave ult abomination in ultimates 2 #12....infact most of those fight were awesome but a bit short to count as a beating...i guess the kamakzi super soilders taking down the giant men was good.the best part of it was one of the giant men staring a kamakazi in the face as he flew through his eye.

My favorite continous fight / serious beatdowns -
Xmen versus Phoenix rounds one and two,.. followed by Xmen versus the imperial Guard where they get whooped,.. followed by their getting up without licking their wounds and fighting Phoenix again.
After that,....................
Spiderman versus The Hulk where he thought the Hulk had something to do with the death of MJ.
After that,...
The Korvac fight,..
After that,..
The Squadron supreme fight where it became Thor versus Ironman when Thor got taken over by the Power Prizm,...
Oh yeah,.. Tony lost pieces of Armor in that one.

Was that really a beatdown, though? I don't remember all the details since I only saw the fight once, a long time ago, but as I recall, Iron Fist kicked BP's ass up, down, and sideways, but BP ultimately managed to win by snapping Iron Fist out of it, didn't he?
Vanguard07
04-10-2007, 09:44 PM
Yeah. Iron Fist was basically kicking the crap outta BP for a long while till BP pulled some sort of satelite strike or something (hazy on the details). Either way BP was so messed up by the end of it that his suit was in and he litterally coudnt maintain consciousness at all. To me it counts.

The fight where wolverine goes beserk on gray hulk and basically punches a massive hole through his stomach. That was pretty much wolvie at his most savage.
The Ultimates vs Hulk and Ultimates vs Thor were also insanely brutal, and realistic to boot.
What about when Juggs smashed a bar on a drunk, heartbroken collossus?
And Hulk pwned the crap out of Gladiator, which made me think of Gladiator as kinda a chump, to this very day. No fight has ever made me think less of a character than that one.

Yeah that whole ISSUE was brutal....he kicked the crap out of everyone. When he throws a burned blob straight on top of pyro, and snaps quicksilver's neck.
Death/Wolverine vs Hulk too, where Wolverine almost beheaded hulk and had him in fear for his life...I felt a little sorry for hulk there :(

Gotta agree that has to go down as the most graphically brutal fight I've ever seen in a comic. Don't forget the carnage they caused too, destroying much of central London along with thousands of civilians (The ruins and corpses all left to rot as a memorial on Miracleman's orders if I remember right).
And prior to the battle too, where the innocent child version of Kid-Miracleman is forced by the prospect of rape to use his trigger word to change to his older (and thoroughly evil) powered self was also gruesome to say the least.
And MiracleMan killing little Johnny at the end too.....
Jeez, that was some grim stuff by Moore.

LOL So basically hulk gets his ass whooped when the guy is under control, but when he comes to his senses the Hulk takes the fight to a guy who really doesn't want to fight anyway?
