Whats everyones fav moment. Two stick out to me. And thats from early on when Conan and Andy start laughing. Then it started in slow- mo with them still laughing and Andy looks over at Max and Max has a shot gun that he shoots Andy with. Conan then says you son of a ***** and pulls out a gun and shoots Max. All of it was slow-mo and had me on the ground laughing.
The other is Harission Ford seeeeeeccreeeeets.

Remember Whale Week from 2 years ago? At the end of the week Will Ferrell came out of the whale as Robert Goulet, did a short interview - sang Lover Boy then just ran behind the curtain.
As a Canadian, his week in Toronto was his best and hope the show returns one day.

I had the best dream last night.
First I was watching The Daily Show and it was 'The Best of Steve Carell'. Even had Jon Stewart look younger. For some reason my mind made up hilarious segments and I remember seeing the Produce Pete bumper
THEN my dream shifted to Late Night, Conan was up in the audience at the top of the stairs. A fake prostetic leg was being passed up the audience and Conan wanted it taken out of the studio by security. He was talking to the audience improvising etc, just hilarious moment and Conan had this look on his face thinking what is going on. I can't describe it that great, or remember much. All I can remember is if it did actually happen it would be the greatest moment ever in the show's history.

This was perhaps the most bizarre interview I've ever seen on Conan. I knew it was going to be crazy, so I recorded it, and thought it was worth transcribing
(First few sentences missed)
CONAN O'BRIEN: Yeah, this is a real treat for you.
HARLAN WILLIAMS: A real treat. I'm here in the middle of, what is it, level orange that we're at?
CONAN: We're at code orange, I guess.
HARLAN: You know what it is for me, Code Orange is not only a state of preparedness, but its also what I call your hairstyle.
CONAN: Oh, really? You think this is Code Orange? Why?
HARLAN: Well, cause you got like your red hair and its standing up, like, alert, and on (audience laughs.) Instead of getting duct tape together they should just hand out Conan O'Brien wigs, and kids could put em on and hide under school desks
CONAN: That's a good idea.
HARLAN: I don't know what I got, but I got it.
CONAN: so, do you have a problem with anything else going on here(puts hands on face), or do you think Conan O'Brien's looking OK?
HARLAN: I'm a little jealous of your chin.
CONAN: My chin?
HARLAN: Well, because you've got one(rubs chin). I mean look at this, man. I'll never play the violin, man. You could play the cello, man.
CONAN: Yeah, me, I could get right in there.
HARLAN: I got no chin- when I drool, it goes right down into my underpants.
CONAN: How terrible for you.
HARLAN: I tried to give like an Italian guy the fungula. the other day.
CONAN: Yeah, that's how they swear at each other (NOTE:they seem to be referring to when you put you fingers under your chin and then flick them out).
HARLAN:And I got no chin, and it went right in my eye.
CONAN: Well, don't do that anymore.
HARLAN: Yeah, no fungula for me.
CONAN: You, I've talked to many times, I know about your life, you're from Canada-(audience members cheer)- well, there you go. Now, you';re living in Los Angeles. How are you handling the transition-a Canadian living in L.A? Is it difficult?
HARLAN: It's kinda tropical there. You got your coconut trees and your pineapple shrubs-
CONAN: (laughing)There's not a pineapple shrub.
HARLAN: Isn't there pineapple there?
CONAN: No, there's not a pineapple shrub. What are you talking about? Where's my dictionary?
HARLAN: Maybe that's why that old lady said "Stop spraying whipped cream on my bushes, you bastard!"
CONAN: (after prolonged laughter) You say the dumbest things(continues cracking up)! Now, so, but is it a hard transition. You say it's tropical. I mean, you're not used ot that in Canada.
HARLAN: Well, what happens is you get critters in your house. A lot of spiders and ants and creatures. And you go to sleep. The other night I could feel things crawling in my bed. So I flick on the light and there's Barry Manilow and David Hasselhoff.
CONAN: (after more laughter) Even you're enjoying that one.
HARLAN: Yeah, that one was a... a Double...uh...
CONAN: Double Whammy there
HARLAN: No.
CONAN: Sorry.
HARLAN: Double Swedish Treat, is what I was going to say.
CONAN: Now, the Oscars have been announced.
HARLAN: Yeah.
CONAN: You're in show business. What's your take on this Oscar thing?
HARLAN: I don't know. About everyone's going nuts for "Harry Potter" and "Harry Potter's Twin Towers."
CONAN: Do you like the "Harry Potter" movies?
HARLAN: No, everything's wizardly now. Even like, Hans Blix and Boutros Boutros Gali-Gali... (seems to trail off) But what I'm getting at, Conan-
CONAN: Yeah, if you could tell me what you're getting at we'd all be thrilled.
HARLAN: Well, everything's becoming magical and wizardly now. Like the other day I woke up and thought I was a magical wizard. Here's what happened. I was over at the mall just wandering around and I had to do a tinkle. So I went into the mens room to do a tinkle. I don't know if you or any of the fellas in the crowd are in the middle of doing a tinkle and all of a sudden some of that weird mysterious underwear lint gets stuck in the eye of the cyclops- (huge burst of laughter)- and I went to do a tinkle and two of 'em came out! I thought it was a magical wizard, man! I thought I had Harry Potter penis!
CONAN: (amidst laughter and laughing himself) what are you talking about?
HARLAN: Come on, you ever done-
CONAN: NO! I'm not gonna- even if that happened, I'm not gonna go "Yeah! That happened!" That's insane! I'm not gonna talk about my Harry Potter tinkle penis! It's crazy! You're a crazy man!
HARLAN: It's nutty-nutty-nutty-McFudgy stuff.
CONAN: What?
HARLAN: Well, you just said crazy, which is-
CONAN: No, your trolley went off the tracks. Mine was on the tracks. You're an insane person.
HARLAN: I love all the stars here. Every night when I watch your show I look at all the little speckles in the sky. And if you squint just right, just right, it almost looks like thjose cute little dots on Morgan Freeman's face. (Huge laughter) Those cute little dots he has.
CONAN: Those are lovable dots. That's what they're like for you? So your viewing experience is very different form everyone else's.
HARLAN: Well you asked me about movies.
CONAN: Yeah, I guess this is all my fault. I said "How are the Oscar picks" And next we're looming at Morgan Freeman's face in the sky. That means I'm cuckoo, huh?
HARLAN: How dare you rape me with your lunges.
CONAN: (Cracking up) I didn't lunge at you.
HARLAN: He just lunged at me! It's like I was here talking to Cujo or something.
CONAN: This Friday Harlan's going to be performing at the University of Florida, and Feb 20-23rd- I did not rape you-will be at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco. You know what, it's seriously, I always just thoroughly enjoy it, always really funny. Harlan Williams.

It's actually funny because most of what you see is hand picked and written by Conan himself.. well, he has a team that he works with and believe it or not puts more work in his show than we actually think, Leno does the same. Just the other day I took the NBC Studio tour in New York and was annoying the guide with my questions but they didnt seem to mind. So it truely is the Conan O'brien show.
And about the guests thing. it dosent even bother me.. I don't watch it for the guests. I tune in every night to see Conan and it dosent matter if they are big or not because they are funny reguardless.
I really loved the interview the other night with Brittany Murphy when she was mentioning she likes guys to hold her and Conan did a short impression of a giant holding her on his side walking with an angry face.. man, I couldnt stop for 5 minutes straight.

Night owls have lost one of their own.
Late Late Show host Craig Kilborn gave notice Thursday after five successful seasons on the CBS talker.
The network had purportedly been in talks with the sardonic talk-show yakker this summer about extending his contract, but Kilborn has apparently decided to shift to a career behind the scenes.
"It was easily the greatest job I've ever had, and CBS was very generous in their offer to re-sign me," Kilborn told Variety. "But I simply want to try something new. I can now focus on writing and producing different television projects I haven't had time for.
"And this is cool: I will continue to wear makeup in my everyday life."
Sources say he's expected to take his final bow at the end of this month or early next month, sending CBS and the show's production team, David Letterman's Worldwide Pants, scrambling for a replacement.
The first name suggested to fill the empty chair by Industry watchers is Conan O'Brien, NBC's Late Night host whose deal with the Peacock expires in December 2005. While NBC hopes to keep O'Brien at its Rockefeller Plaza studio, the self-deprecating funnyguy has been open about his desire to switch to shift time slots
But it's hardly a done deal. O'Brien is likely to look for some type of guarantee that he'd be groomed to take over Letterman's spot when the Late Show host steps down, which isn't due to happen anytime soon. And since O'Brien has another year on his contract, CBS would be forced to make do with guest hosts until the redhead could come aboard.
Meanwhile, Kilborn leaves his post on a high note. The show's audience has grown 34 percent since he took over in 1999, averaging 1.7 million viewers this season. He's also regularly trounced time-slot competitor Jimmy Kimmel Live, though O'Brien remains the 12:35 a.m. leader.
No word yet on what specifically Kilborn will be doing after next month. The original host of Comedy Central's Daily Show, he got his big break in the early '90s on ESPN's Sports Center. Since then Kilborn's also dabbled in feature films with a role in last year's Old School. He'll also appear in the upcoming Wes Craven werewolf thriller Cursed.
--------------------------------
His show was good but when you're up against a quality show like Late Night it'll be tough. Very surprised to see him go just after five seasons. Now the question is who will replace Kilborn? Viacom owns CBS and Comedy Central so could they have Jon Stewart replace Kilborn once again? Bringing Conan over ala Letterman and have him wait in the shadows until Dave is ready to leave would be something. If Conan stays it'll be hard, maybe even impossible to compete with Consie.

Has anybody else seen that pilot? If that was a hit or moderate success, Consie might have never gotten his own talk show. Still wouldn't have do to bad with Lookwell, probably would've played a recurring role. Great show try to find on ebay or watch on Trio.

Conan is cool! I think his best comedy skits are "Desk drive", "If they Mated" and "Actual items". These are the funniest ones and I would love to see more of those in his monologue. Conan is funny and maybe someday i would like to see him in a movie.

Plus Consie would probably move to LA :( And no more Leno gets all the glory jokes :(
But perhaps all the Little Jay Leno we can get :)
And maybe Andy could return :)
Damn why couldn't CBS just make a gold statue of him and assure him Letterman is out on his senille ass when his contract is up.

Well i'm happy for Conan. Sure things are going to probably change but its going to happen and I have every little bit of faith Conan will make it great and enjoyable he makes sure he never disappoints and he never will. He'll put back the pizazz the Tonight Show lost when Leno took it over. Conan reminds me of a 'todays' version of Carson for some reason, he'll make the show the best it could be and may even do things Leno would never do, yank some balls. I'm not worried at all.. Consie knows what he's doing. He'll bring the Tonight show to it's all time height.

Classic Dave on Trio is something to watch if you can. I've seen Leno as a guest three times and they got along great. One day it would be great to see Letterman make an appearence on the Tonight Show. He was a guest host.
It seems to me that a good portion of Leno fans aren't Conan fans. Mostly that has to do with age and I guess people watching his show and being turned off. They'd rather read typos and listen to Kevin laugh then watch Triumph and read new state quarters. I've been looking and most polls show that Consie isn't that much of a favourite. But thats still another five years and his fanbase of younger people will only grow.
Now the question is who will be the new Late Night host to follow in the footsetps of 80s Letterman and Conan? Watching NBC on a Friday night at midnight (cst) just won't feel right in five years. Or I could just move to the east and then his show would come on to a time I'm used too.

i think everything will be alright. he wont lose his edge and become watered down. the censors let up on things as the years pass(unless something happens at superbowls) and i have no doubt conan can carry on. it might take him a little bit to get the feel of it;as he did with late night. i had worries when andy left, that was a big change i thought, and i feared the worst, but it just got better. he will prevail!! :bomb:

You're wrong. Leno and Conan are always leading in the ratings for their timeslots. Leno wanted to announce it now so Conan knows he's not going to get screwed over by NBC in a behind the scenes fiasco.
Shifty
09-28-2004, 03:18 PM
Or that NBC loses Conan to another network. Kilborn leaving probably jump started this whole thing. Yes times change and in 2009 more material could be acceptable. Bill Maher said on Conan he was the first to say "sucks" on TV. "This weather sucks." He was on the Tonight Show performing standup used it, producers went beserk, nothing happened, Carson used it a few days later.
But I don't see Conan introducing a new series of stamps and having a dog named Prison Rape being mentioned.

Wiseman, in the 18-49 ratings, I think Leno is slipping. I can't find any ratings info on the Net. However, placing faith in Conan being around in 5 years is kinda funny. NBC better have protection around him 24/7 so he doesn't slip on soap in the shower, or have a severe car accident.

Actually it's fairly normal in the industry to plan stuff out that far in advance to keep an asset. It's just usually not done so publicly. 5 years really isn't that long for someone who has been loyal to NBC for so long. NBC is making sure they don't have another Carson/Leno/Letterman situation.
