I'm a big Ultimate fan anyway & I really like Bendis take on his origin. Even though it has very little to do with his original 616 origin, I feel it works pretty well & fits in with the USM 'feel' nicley.

Never be better than the original Venom though. ;)

I just broke the f*****g head of me damn Medicom Venom! :eek::(:mad:

I was only changing the heads over (like your surpose to be able to do!) to take a pic of it with the other head on, & the bloody thing broke! Where the neck ball joint goes into the head, the narrow opening for it got ripped out! ARGH!!! Needless to say I almost filled my pants when this happened, but thankfully after some time fiddling about with it (& a lot of super-glue) I managed to stick the head back on & 'cos of where it broke you can't even tell that anything every happened. Few! :D
Bastard bloody thing though. When you pay almost £100 for something you dont expect it to break so damn easy!

Venom_uk's Real Action Hero's (Medicom) Venom Mini Review...


First off let begin by saying that the 'Warning: Adult collectable. Not a toy.' label is there for a damn good reason. This is defiantly not something you can play with & you have to be pretty gentle even when posing it. This is something that you put in a cool looking pose & sit back & admire.

As an adult collectable it works just fine, it's very poseable (the POA on this eludes me right now sorry) & you can put him in some really nice looking action poses. Although why they felt the need to not give him articulated ankles is beyond me!
Also, if you happen to put him in a rather obscure pose which there’s no way in hell of him standing up in, he comes with a clear display base that has a pole with two hooks so you can stand him up that way instead.

The only other problem apart from this piece being a bit 'fragile' in places, is with the hands. Something must have gone wrong somewhere down the line 'cos this area of the figure wasn't given enough attention. They look just fine, no problems there, it's just getting them to stay connected to the forearm where you come into some trouble. The hands themselves come in two parts, why god only knows as it could have quite easily have been done in one, & its where the two part meet the problem lies. When you push the hand peg (see picture below) into the hole in the forearm, the majority of the time it just ends up getting pushed back into the hand. Unless you pull it some way out, basically jamming the two pieces together. Not how I think they where suppose to go together. Having said that, that is the only major complaint I have about this piece.

Visually this piece is just awesome. Based on Todd McFarlane’s Venom, with a little bit of 'creative license' from the makers (see the chest spider for example), this is without a doubt, the best Venom figure out there on the market. The head sculpt is almost picture perfect to McFarlane’s drawings, beautifully done. The alternative head not so much. Even though I do like Venom with a long tongue, this one just looks odd & the teeth are just huge! Taking inspiration from some of the more recent Venom designs rather than the classic look. Same can be said for the long alternative hands. Best to stick to the classic look in my opinion.
It's just a shame that only 1,000 of these where ever made & that they weren't released outside of Japan. The world needs more of these Venom's damn it!

The figure also has a thin, stretchy material over it's body, apart from the feet, hands & head, covering up all the joints making it look very smooth, neat, & just a little bit sexy. It's this unique feature that makes this Venom figure standout from the crowd in my opinion.

Overall this is an excellent collectors item but is far from being perfect.
If you can get hold of one though, grab the sucker & don't let go! You will not be disappointed.

Honestly, it makes you want to despair, the entire situation with the movie if that's how things are going to turn out. I am not kidding in the least when I say that my interest-level in it has decreased by at least 90%.

And i knew that Venom thread was going to turn into a morass of ankle-deep fecal matter.... but you may have noticed, since that "Hobgoblin" latex mask got posted in there the idiots have pretty well stfu :D That was brilliant, 4life. Great picture, and the other one almost as good - that's just what that idiot NinjaCarm wants to see, a black goblin with slimy skin. LOLOL that boy is such a mouth-breather.

I just bemourn lost opportunity for Venom... and for us. Because to be truthful, I have almost no interest in seeing the film as things stand now. I'll just buy "Batman Forever" on DVD and content myself with that :D Why? A big reason is I don't want to watch Franco mangling Dafoe's former work. Because he can't be what Dafoe was in that role, and everybody out here knows it. Even his supporters know it.

Carnage is now my favorite villain, but there's still a special spot in my heart for the Dafoe movie Goblin especially. I care about seeing that legacy left intact, and I say if you cant beat something, best leave it alone. Franco as HG is like, you know, finding out "The Evil Dead" is being remade. Why the f*** would you redo a thing that's still perfectly good? You'll never recapture that special charm, so leave it the **** alone~!!!

The only thing that would salve my feelings right now is news they're developing a spinoff franchise for Venom. Please God, let that happen: new director, new direction. We deserve it.
