Yeah its 616, I got the 1st few issues of Toxin but got bored of it and didnt have enough money to keep getting it. Apparently though it got better after I dropped it so it might be worth getting the TPB when it comes out.

What is TPB?

Also, why is the symbiote of Venom in these series a killer? I always thought the symbiote was a good guy and protected the innocent (of course not for Peter since Brock has a psycho mind as well as the symbiotes love-hate relationship for Peter because of the seperation)?

In what I read today, Venom was saying how Carnage could kill anyone, just not Toxin because it was the same species. It totally went off the 616.

Yes mate, I made that amalgam up in my head. I thought, "What if Super Man had the symbiote"? Since it enhances the persons powers, he would be stronger. Also he can take the shape of various things and could web sling.

It is part of regular continuity apparently. I read something a while back & it meantioned the 'Venom' mini series was pat of continuity. Although it really wouldn't bother me if it wasn't. Muh...

It's a stand alone mini series call Toxin. Ends this month. TPB out in November.

What issue and in what comic is the Superman Vs. Venom? I thought that was just fan art when I saw it...Venom wearing sunglasses and all. I don't understand how Venom can even remotely compare to Superman. Not to bad mouth my favorite character, but c'mon...it's freakin' Superman!

I agree, I liked the art but the rest was wack. Supposedly this was 616 but the symbiote never acted as if it was 616, I really disliked it.

Erm, I loved the art on the Toxin miniseries, and the story was okay. I hated the villain concepts, but I thought the character of Toxin and Pat were just excellent and innovative. The villains were what brought it down.

...unlike a certain Venom series that involved clones, aliens, and one of the most terribly contrived stories ever strung together involving the symbiote.

Personally I think it's the other way around. 'Toxin' has been very well written & the conflicting attitudes & approaches between Pat & the Symbiote have been great. The artwork on the other hand has been very hit & miss. 2 back to back pages showing the same characters can look totally different. Not good.

The conflicting attitudes of the symbiote and Pat in regards to Pat reacting more vigilante like? The characters didn't look any different to me IMO, they all looked the same. Venom clone on the other hand, I would understand that statement on that comic.

Nothing special at all really. It's just a tribal star design of some sorts that Vapor showed me awhile back. I showed the guy & he did it for me. :up:

Actually the guy who does my tattoos is a really nice guy & I wouldn't wanna subject the poor man to the sight of my bare ass...I'm not that cruel. :p

Yeah, I've been thinking about what I can do next & to be honest I've not got a clue... & after today it'll be awhile yet before I go back for another. Ouch!
I actually enjoyed my 'LP' tattoo but this one I just sort of persevered through. Thankfully it only took 30 minutes.
I do eventually want a Venom tattoo (again on my leg) but that wont be for awhile yet.

Just finished all of them now, pretty good comic IMO, but really short. I really like the ending and how they didn't destroy the Amalgam universe, but kept it alive because all the characters had their own lives that were real to them as well.

Can anyone tell me the names of the Amalgam universe, prior to All Access?

I came here, this forum and the doc ock thread, for more than one reason. I liked the pictures, and it hyped up the movie even more.

After all of that, it was a mix of afterglow and just a good sense of community with a few people from the thread...

and I can't help but feel a bit of disappointment whent he community...deletes itself :(

Agreed, that would defeat the purpose of the symbiote. He would have to have some resistance to injury. i.e. as seen when Eddie was hit by a train.

Don't know if it absorbs them exactly but it sure as hell can stop them. Remember when Peter had t he suit on first? He got shot twice whilst driving the limo & he basically just laughed it off. Symbiotes kick ass! :cool::up:

Toxin is regular Universe & Venom (this one anyway) is Ultimate Universe so what applies to one wont necessarily apply to the other. Which can sometimes be good & other times bad.

For those of you who own an original copy of ASM#300 how much did you pay for it???

A new comic store opened in my area.That's four I have now btw :p :D Anyways this new place specialises in old comics.The place is filled with them.So I was in heaven.I went in on my own as I wanted to look at my own pace and not feel obligated to rush if I had a friend with me.

Anyways I was looking thru the old ASM's and came across ASM#300 for 4 euro,whatever that is in dollars I don't know.Then they had a section for more rarer comics that were 6 euro or more.So I wandered over to have a look.And there was ASM#300 in there for 30 euro.

LMAO! Same comic at two different prices.Venom's first appearance.If I was a die hard Venom fan I could of had it for 4 euro.If only I could find an Ock classic for that price ;)

It is a Horizon model that I got off ebay...slightly modified. I am a fan of the big eyes and whipping tongue, and the original just wasn't doing it for me.

The symbol is graven into the vinyl, but trust me it's not much easier than painting it from scratch. Painting that spider takes longer than the whole rest of the kit put together. It's just a nightmare; the paint wants to go all over the place, you have to keep fixing it.

Thanks. So I take it you just primer the entire body first with the black and then finish it off with the Spider. Id imagine how hard that thing is, must be harder on those customs since they are like 6 inches.

That symbol was the biggest pain in my ass. I do it over and over. You have to have alot of patience.

I wanted to make the tongue whip up like in the new Ultimate Venom picture Venom UK had on that snowboard, but the tongue off to the side just looked better. I'll probably buy some other kits and transform them into Venom. I saw the Horizion Joker kit, that would make a good Cletus Kasady for all you Carnage fans. Just my opinion.

Can you believe they have a movie out now called 'Venom'? I was excited for a brief second before they were crushed. I thought it was a well kept secret for them to put it out like that, then I found out it's just another stupid horror flick.

I know. I'll probably end up seeing it; I can't pass up a horror movie, even if it looks like crap. I have NO idea why they called it Venom; it looks more related to zombies then anything.

Has anyone picked up 'Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects' (out now on XB, PS2 & GC) yet at all? Come on, fighting game with a fully 3D Venom! Who looks pretty bad ass if you as me. :cool::up: Although he is missing a finger for some reason....lol

the spider symbols are green he has a a upside down triange then a few small ovals over it and each other his eyes are the same and hes has green lines in the shape of metal plates with techno lookin shapes inside some of them and two curvey lines going up his fore head. Its really complex

You know what confounds me?

Why do some people hate the mouth full of razor sharp teeth and a that long tongue, Venom is fragging fierce. It's awsome to see him like that, friggin if something like that appeared in an alley one night if I were taking a walk my knee's would buckle and I soil my pants.

As I've said in the past, IMO Mark Bagley does the best Venom & he was the 1st to give him fangs & a long ass tongue. It's when the artist gets a tad carried away & gives him a tongue as long as one of Ocks tentacles that it starts to get stupid.
