And no, the Tsunami Venom series was not "best forgotten." Every time I ask people why they say that, all I get is a lame "Well, Wolverine's in it. So I don't like it." Look past the omnipresent Wolvie and appreciate this story for what it is: a whole lot better than a lot of what we're getting these days. The only forgettable thing about it is much of the artwork.

And yes, the dog did wear the symbiote for a while.

Cheers dude. This one now takes the lead on my fav statue list now ahead of the Diamond Select McFarlane inspired one. It's that good! :venom:

The detail on it (as you mentioned) is fan-f**king-tastic! From the skulls laying in the green, slimy water to the blue tint to Venom himself it's just perfect...spot on. Oh yes, & it weighs a freaing TONNE! I kid you not, if i dropped it the ground would crack more that this baby would!

That's the only problem with these full size statues, they do cost a bomb! But if you have the extra cash & can afford one it's so worth it in the end. I don't know how much he is in US $ but he cost me £150, which for something this size is about right.
It's a good job I get paid today though, just had to fork out over £800 for car insurance (little 'bump' I had jacked the price up something chronic! grrr) & now this arriving, I think I've spent my whole pay packet in the space of 3 days! Which is a new record for me I think. :)

That 3rd picture is the best by far. I've never seen a picture where Carnage out shines Venom, but Carnage really looks magnificent in that piece. The bird flying into the window at the top could have been excluded.

Nice Sculpture V_UK! Check out this one I just added to my collection. A lot of people I've talked to don't like this style of Venom. Personally, It's my favorite version. I like the gross oversized claws and general gerth of Venny. It makes him more intimidating in my opinion.

Thanks. Personally I really don't like that statue of Venom at all & wont be adding that one to my collection any time soon.
The size, colouring ect on him is fine it's just his feet, which are like hands (WTF?!?) & the fact that his index & ring fingers seem to have merged into one. Also not a fan of the way his face has been styled. Looks like he has a beak to me. lol

You're not the only one watching that Mediacom stuff on eBay closely; prices have come down a bit, but not enough. For instance they were wanting $300 US for Carnage, and now they've come down to about $200 ]since I have yet to see one sell at any price]. Big of 'em, hey? NOT

I'm still not paying even $200 for something manufactured as a toy. I dont feel it's well enough made for that kind of price.

UK- accolades for the awesome pics where you show the back of that model. For me, the narrative element with Spidey hiding in the water really makes the sculpture. Now that I know just who Venom is scanning for, and how close his quarry is (perhaps about to reverse the roles?), I am really entertained and impressed by it.

Yeah, having Spidey hiding from Venom in the sewer like that is indeed a very nice touch. Although I'm guessing that Venom knows Spidey is there & is just toying with the wall crawler. Wait for him to pop his head up to see if the coast is clear before knocking to clean off his shoulders. :venom:

LMAO! Some people on ebay really take the piss when it comes to the price tags they slap on things & yeah, I saw a few Venom's go for around the same price as mine (apart from one that had a BIN price of $90 before shipping that went unsold).

Ping, I've noticed you soliciting symbiote pix, both here and on KMC.

The vast majority of us have been scanning and collecting pix for years now. We've done a billion searches, we've shared scans and original fan-art amongst our relatively small circle, in short it has taken us a lot of TIME to amass the substantial backlog of symbiote-related stuff that we possess, and we had to gain the trust of other fans to do it.

By all means collect the symbiote art that you see and like, but it's not like other fans have this obligation to post their entire backlogs of art just so YOU can pick them up too. We had to work for our pix, and work to gain the trust of artists specializing in this type of thing, and so do you.

Sandman isn't anywhere near the same level as Green Goblin or Doc Ock. The only other Spidey villain who could come close in generating the same amount of hype is Venom. One look at the S-M3 forums will tell you that.
So yeah, I agree that the announcement of Sandy as the next villain is a bit underwhelming after the good Doctor but I do like the idea of Sandman in a spidey film.
THC sure as hell looks the part, has the voice & is a good actor so there's no doubt in my mind he'll nail the role just as Defoe & Molina did with their parts.
Anyway, who couldn't see Sandman coming a mile off? lol

I'm pretty new to the hype (posting not viewing) and consider myself very intelligent and am very excited about you know what possibly happening (sorry guys). I'm not a band-wagon jumper, but am with the majority since *you know who* is my favorite character, through good times and bad. I've been collecting spidey since the early 80's and I can't help to be excited about any character that happens to grace the screen, good decision or not.

Back to the Club House...I remember reading USM, issue 35, when it first came out. I hadn't seen venom drawn by Bagley since the 90's, which was the style I fell in love with most. I remember turning the page and seeing the following picture. It sent chills up and down my spine. My favorite symbiote was back (even though it's really Peter)! When I saw the original art up for sale I jumped all over it. Here it is:

I'm still not sure how people are thinking IT is going to happen when we have three villains now who look extremely close to their comics-counterparts, but #4 is supposed to suddenly deviate in every way... wha....? Huh....?

Perhaps I am older, jaded.... I have a lifetime of seeing stuff wrecked onscreen behind me, and I'm a little tighter with my praise. But that's just me.

I just don't like the idea of my favorite villain being bastardised for the sake of a few extra $'s. Which when it comes down to it, is what this is all about. As long as it brings in the green that's all Arad & Sony give a crap about. :down

Okay, if anyone remembers that I was working on a story about a symbiote I created, "Chaos" I lost track and motivation because of work and life. But now it's officially going to be re-launched prehaps this weekend, I have fresh idea's and I feel re-energized. I'm going to re-post the prologue and chapter one, revised of course in a new thread. I've also re-created Chaos in a sense, his motives, his powers...but his looks are the same from what you saw. Blue symbiote with black, tiger like stripes. He still has a black, evil face with those striking white eyes and that lovely grin. Just minor changes, really. Just for a fresh start really, if anyone is curious. I just posted in Venom_Uk's thread to let people know, of course.

This is just a sketch I did earlier about the character i've created, "Chaos" showing that during the various stories i'll be posting soon that he indeed, will have run in's with various other symbiotes. Not all at once as depicted in the picture, but just to show an idea. In addition he'll be facing off with wolverine, since Joseph(Chaos) lives in Canada as well. Eventually he'll end up in New York, because as any good secret goverment corporation wanting the symbiote for "biological weaponary" and we all know evil villains escape. So he'll be duking it out with Spider-Man for quite a while, Silver Sable, the Hulk and even the Human torch. This is just a run down of what to be expected.

Okay onto the sketch, take into consideration i've had no formal training and whatnot, I just draw free-handed and what comes to mind. Yes I know it's not perfect etc but that does not mean I can't post it up. Dang, I just wish I could color it or something, that would be cool. Sorry about the blur, I don't have a scanner so i've used a digital camera. I hope Venom_Uk doesn't mind me posting this here, but it has Venom in it as well lol.

Powers: Josephs powers come from the symbiote. The being can mimic any type of clothing, as well as blend in with the surroundings. The symbiote has augmented Josephs physical abilities to superhuman levels.

Abilities: Joseph can produce cohesive plasma masses which are highly corrosive in nature, being able to destroy any and every material known to man. Joseph can also animate portions of the symbiote itself to form tentacles. Additionally he can use his sharp claws to climb walls and other surfaces.

Limitations: The symbiote is vunerable to both sonics and intense heat.

Additional Notes: "Chaos" himself is a manifestation of Joseph's darkside. All the rage and sorrow that has accumilated in his mind, he is able to project this "darkside" through the symbiote. Because the symbiote is bonded with Jospeh mentally and physically on such an incredible scale, Joseph's higher brain functions shut down and "Chaos" takes over becoming a very deadly, disturbed individual who is very cunning and ruthless.

Biography

Joseph Osowski was an outsider, he was never really prosperous in the real world either. He was a young man whose family was murdered by a violent street gang and he was the only survivor of the brutal attack. He was stabbed, and then he was shot in the side of the head, shattering his skull and scarring his face. But in an incredible act of recovery, he survived. But that was the least of his worries. Everything he held dear to him was taken away. Two years gone by and things only got worse, he couldn't take it anymore. He was on the brink of suicide, he decided he would end it all. He went out in the middle of the night to take his life, when by chance a comet came crashing to earth. Curious he went to investigate, not aware of the malevolent lifeform waiting within. An alien symbiote was within the comet, seeking a host. It found Joseph, bonding with him in a furious fusion of man and alien. Fueled by pure rage and hatred for all who hurt him, Jospeh calls himself Chaos and the world will pay.

"I'm stuck in this blasted cell, thank's to that spider-man imbecile. He wasn't successful the first time, so he had to look up my past. Thought he could pull a little detective work, so he came around the second time and got into my head. How dare he do that? Who does he think he is? We are disorder, death and destruction in the flesh! That's when he tricked us with that infernal device, it nearly tore us apart! But I promise him, next time he won't be so lucky. I guarantee you, oh yes blood will flow through the streets. Because this world is full of nothing but transgressors, perverts and victimizers. Mutants and other scum that are polluting our killing grounds, they all must die! Innocent or guilty, they will all be slaughtered in the path of Chaos. It's only a matter of time time before the layers of outer serenity crumbles and the inner wrathfulness spills out and consumes all in it's way".

From what I understand this series of Spider-Man Classics isn't hitting the shelves until January 2006 but this one is probably from the Japan or Singapore. They get everything months ahead of the west.
No way is it worth $30 though, especially as it's apartently being shipped 2 per case which'll make it pretty easy to find. Definatly worth waiting until it hits your local toy stores & paying, I'm guessing, $8 for it then. :up:

To be honest, I've found the product's forums here to be the best for toy news ect. So I get the majority of mine from there...which I believe in turn comes from Fwoosh! lol

BTW, I put some Christmas lights around the place. Damn I hate burned out bulbs...But it makes it look pretty festive now, especially at night time.
