Woo! Indeed. The Club House seems to be standing the test of time pretty well I have to say. Well over a year old & still going strong. So like you said Electro UK, here's to another 50 pages of Venom greatness. :venom::up:

So a BIG thank you to anyone & everyone that has contributed to this thread along the way. You've helped make this thread what it is today.

No problem sugar! It's my pleasure! ;)

From the last issue of 'Venom: Seperation Anxiety' showing the conflict between Symbiote & host. Which we've seen alot recently with Toxin but is often over looked with the likes of Venom & Carnage.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/Venom_uk/Eddie06.jpg
See, even without his Symbiote, Eddie is still a force to be reconned with. Don't spill his pint!

Ah yes, that was a great arc. I truely enjoyed Venom when drawn by Bagley and written by DeMatties. Deadly, humorous and very, very cool looking. Too bad he hasnt had such chemistry between artists and writers since then, IMO.

This lil' Venom is from the the Spidey Stunt system series 1 (http://www.toybiz.com/2005/spider-man_classic/72367.jpg) & comes complete with 0 POA. Yes, that's right, 0...& on top of that it's based on the the rather crappy Venom figure from Series 4 (http://www.toybiz.com/image_dump/70034.jpg) of the SMC range but thankfully doesn't come with the blue 'wash' the SMC4 one did.

There is a lot of talented artists here :D thats why im putting here the "rules" for the contest of the Deviantart“s club Symbiot-Cluster;
We really wants u all join it:

Current Contest: Symbiotic Crossovers
-------------------------
We had an idea for a new contest. This time around we'd like to see your impression of how another character would look if s/he were being taken over by a symbiote.
Whether the character you choose be from an Anime, Cartoon, Game, Singer ect. it's up to you. You can have them bonding with the original Venom suite or they could be bonding with the Carnage symbiote, or with any symbiote of your choosing.

The winning design will more than likely be the most intelligent design rather than how well it was drawn.

This club will show more activity the more members we get so all should consider joining in with this contest. We'll add all enteries to our gallery for final judging.

Again the contest winner will receive a picture by me. This time, however, I'll draw whatever (excluding provocative material) the winner wants and I'll color it as well.

The contest has no set date yet but there will be one next year. So you've got more or less a month to figure out what you want to draw.

And do try to bring more people to this club. Like we said. The more people that are in this club the more activity there will be.
-------------------------

Join us, i think it will be funny, and maybe we can do a website to post our art and fics, and all :venom:

....But does anybody care? This is the relevant question :)

She was raped years in the past, if I'm understanding the story correctly... we didn't see anything happen now. It's all a bid to somehow increase her popularity by 1. making people feel sorry for her and 2. making fanboys imagine The Act Of Violence in all its salacious detail [fan-art! we need fan-art!].

Didn't get to see that, but we did get to see Venom reduce her nose to its component molecular structure, and to that I say:

Okay fellow Venom fans, the reason I posted this queston in here is because the other thread is way to "congested".

What is your opinion on the supposed "black suit"?

That thread is indeed much too large to even attempt to grapple with. The fact that its 95% spam isn't helping matters. My thoughts [since you so rashly asked! :)]:

I've pretty much written this movie off in my head, so the black-suit thing hurt less than I expected. However...

it was a nice piece of artwork, I liked it. But what it symbolizes makes me LAUGH. Here's why...

People have been whining "Oh, Venom should be an evil twin of Peter!" and it is looking like Raimi took that statement seriously. I think we may be about to see a Venom who is indeed a literal all-but-twin. The person wearing the suit is going to look like MacGuire, and the "suit" itself may well completely abandon the symbiote we've seen in the comics, becoming merely a black lookalike to the movie costume we know so well.

Will movie-Venom be a huge, snarling alien threat or.... a little guy who looks like a black mirror-image of movie-Spidey?! BWA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is so f***ing funny I could almost fall off my chair laughing!

People ******ed about organic webbing, did they? They ******ed for *TWO YEARS* about GG1's costume? Now they're [i]REALLY gonna have a reason to ******, and I think that is nothing but rough justice. 160-lb. 5'6" Venom, God save us all, that is gonna be the most ridiculous thing we ever clapped an eye to.

[Hey, if you don't laugh about this stuff you'll end up throwing things across the room in sheer rage :)]

Symbiotica
02-24-2006, 10:55 PM
Plus one more thing...

The death of Captain Stacy is one of Spidey's foundation stories. It's extremely important, since it helped shape public opinion on him [in the books.] He's never been able to actually shake blame for Stacy's death, at least to my knowledge.

Regardless of whether or not they kill Gwen in the movie... er.... the person responsible for Stacy's death is actually Octavius, as hardly needs be said.

But we're a movie too late for Octavius to be involved. So whoever ends up killing Stacy, it will not be he.

This merely points out how wrong this whole Stacy thing is, if they were going to do this why not have done it in movie 1, Octavius could have killed him in 2 [instead of talking about Tennyson] - and *now* we could bring in MJ, as would be correct according to the timeline? Things are so bollixed up right now they are never going to get this straight.

If Stacy dies it's stupid because his real killer is not present. If he does not die, its still stupid because it breaks with continuity... a no-win situation.

[....."twin" Venom, bwa-hahahahaha I just may die laughing.]

NOTHING about this movie is getting my blood flowing. Not one single thing. How sad is that, when a Spidey man doesn't even get excited about a new Spidey film but one that his favorite villain is 'surpossidly' appearing in? I'll probably clean up Venom's dentition one of these days, but that's really low-priority on the totem-pole of Things To Do, so it'll be a while. This toy is surprisingly limited in poseability, for as many joints as he has.

But you have to balance that against the possibility of not getting the desired item at all; its why I preordered RAH Carnage. He'll probably be cheaper later, and I'll regret it. But it seems more often I say "...tomorrow," and never see the item again. Or if I do, its $300 on eBay.

Up until Sideshow collectables announced that they would be bringing over Medicoms RAH Marvel series to the westen world, these figures where limted to only 1,000 pieces. Which made the rather high-ish price tag somewhat understandable & easier to stomach. Now it's just a right kick in the balls...& wallet. :(

Oh well, f**k it. I've had mine for almost a whole year now or so & it's one of the original 1,000 Venoms released so that's gotta be worth the extra £20 or so...hasn't it?
Actually, thinking about it, I only paid £81.59 for the figure itself, the rest was P&P costs from Hong Kong. Hmm...doesn't sound quite so bad now. :) lol

there isnt any need ot worry because if he is eddie. were going to have to dea lwith it. topher might prove to be worthy of the role. his likeness to eddie is far, but all weve seen him play was a skinny nervoud kid... in a comedy no less. perhaps hell produce as well as tobey who at first.. looked like a terrible choice regardless of likeness.

R.I.P Eddie Brock/Venom

You were the one true comic book character to drag me into the world of Spider-Man. The world has been cruel to you by the like's of which will go unnamed and whatnot, and now Topher Grace will be you in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. You were what true terror was all about, but now you will rest. Forever and ever, you will be the one true Venom, the 616 of course.

Why do I try anymore? Why defend a character which i've grown up with? Why defend a character that had got me interested in comics books in the first place? So in a movie, he can be played by Topher Grace? All for what, so I can come back again later and repeat my input over again. I can only explain in detail only so much until it becomes silly. I don't even know if it's worth it anymore. Do I accept the "change", **** no, I don't and never will.

You never know, we may all be plesently surprised. Venom's whipping tongue may show up and just brighten everyone's day.

With all the toys out there, they obviously know what he is supposed to look like, except for the motorcyle picture...when I saw the picture of Venom in a leather jacket and pants with the spider logo on it, I thought, cool they are replicating his clothing from Amazing Spiderman 375 right before he battles Spidey in the amusement park. But no, they gave him a damn helmet and a motorcycle. WTF?

Why they always put superheros on motorcycle toys is beyond me. I was in Toys R Us the other day, and there were 2 new Spiderman toys and both of them included a giant motorcycle. Not to mention the 3rd one I saw that included a motorcyle which had been on the shelf forever, and there were plenty of them. What the hell is with motorcycles? Why would Spiderman ride a motorcycle???

I agree with what Doc Ock just said, that 'Eddie Brook' does indeed look more like Jimmy Olsen from DC.

Gopher for Eddie is a bad choice full stop. If they make him like he is there then they're not even trying to bring the real Eddie Brock to the screen! They're trying to bring a "What if Eddie got the suit before he was mego-coolo" version... and that's not what we want!

He's very hypocritical in that respect but it just adds further evidance to the fact that he's incredibly selfish & unpredictable. Which is one of the main reasons I think Venom kicks ass, you really have no idea WTF he's gonna do next. Totally unpredictable! :venom:

Don't you guys get it? Movie!Brock doesn't have to look like a large, mean, intimidating guy. He just has to look like a rival for Mary Jane's affections!

Movie!Venom won't try to hurt anyone except Movie!Spider-Man, and it'll be solely in order to steal the excruciatringly gorgeous Movie!MJ away so he can make pretty speeches and leave his jaw resting on the floor through half of a film's length like Movie!Peter did (this is without the transformative properties of the symbiote, by the way). For 'Spider-Man 3,' it'll just be Movie!Brock in civvies, and he'll be a villain in his own right because he's trying to make time with Movie!Peter's woman, which will make him lose his superpowers for another hour of film time. Only when Movie!MJ pats Movie!Peter on the head and says "I'm yours Tiger, honest, now eat your chocolate desert that that creepy but brilliantly written and plotted girl Ursula made for you" will he get his powers back and save Aunt May from Movie!Sandman (brilliantly named by Ted Raimi as Bugle staffer Hoffman, of course) and his Movie!Wife and child (which is a vast improvement over the cheesy comic book version, who just had a mother he loves but no friends or significant others... that's so unrealistic for a violent criminal).
The film will end with Movie!Peter doubting his right to be with Movie!MJ while he's Movie!Spidey, but he'll keep it to himself while Movie!MJ swoons over her lukewarm theater reviews and natters on about what would make Peter's filthy hole of an apartment more suitable for her to live there. Movie!Peter's closet space will be reduced to just enough to hold his tuxedo and his original red and blue, torn-all-to-hell Movie!Spidey costume. Meanwhile, Movie!Brock, who was bitten by the exact same genetically-altered vampire/were-spider that bestowed its hideous traits onto Movie!Peter in the first faithful adaptation of the classic love saga that is Spider-Man. Remember, the spider was last seen alive, rather than dead like in the comics. It's better this way, since superheroes and villains are just too unrealistic to have more than three ways of bestowing superpowers in a movie franchise. Anyhow, Movie!Brock has just figured out, after 3-4 years, that he has the ability to lift tons and leap several meters, and can therefore cut back on his yoga and Tai Chi. He's looking in the mirror and crying over the fact that his noble act of holding the door for Movie!MJ (when she went to the Daily Bugle building to tell Jameson he's unreasonable to be angry that she stood his son up, leaving him unable to trust women ever again, and wasted hundreds of people's time and thousands of dollars that could have gone to good causes like spreading Masked Menace awareness) did not convince her to leave Movie!Peter and marry him. You see, Movie!Brock lived for many years in the house on the other side of Movie!MJ's from Movie!Peter's. He, too, loved Movie!MJ since she was 6 years old. Isn't that romantic? So, yeah, Movie!Brock found one of Movie!Spidey's costumes in the trash (from when Movie!Peter saw Movie!Brock holding the door for Movie!MJ, lost his powers again and tossed his uniform, again), spray-painted it black, altered it a little so it wouldn't fit so loosely on his own slim but terrifying frame, and names himself Movie!Venom. He names himself this because he feels like he's dying from a poison bite every time he thinks of Movie!MJ not being in his slim but terrifying arms.

In 'Spider-Man 4,' where we will actually see Movie!Venom in action, the villain will put Movie!MJ in danger (for a change), and Movie!Venom will be there to save her, and then a few more times throughout the movie. This will cause Movie!Spidey to lose his powers a couple more times. More details as they become available.

P.S.: Chocolate Cake Girl is actually a spy for Jameson. She's keeping an eye on Movie!Peter to find out more on Movie!Spider-Man. You know what this means... Movie!Scorpion!

Eddie Brock is an impressive & intimidating guy with or without the Symbiote. In the comics, for example, he's taken on many a thug/guard/henchman without the Symbiote & totally kicked their asses. THAT'S Eddie Brock. The kinda guy who you know could, & probably would, kick your ass.

I think I really need is plastic surgery all over myself :O :(

Go watch some 'Nip/Tuck,' darlin', then consider that idea again.

I can tell you from personal experience (which I admit is mere anecdotal evidence and doesn't make an arguable case) that even if you aren't "very attractive" by society's standards, there's always the possibility of finding someone who will want you for what's inside and what's on the surface.

For the sake of honesty, I must report that there actually is a general standard for attractiveness that is basically hard-wired into human beings. It's actually mostly universal, so when people show pictures from National Geographic with women with a dozen rings around their unhealthily-elogated necks and claim that every culture has different standards of attractiveness, that's not a reflection on inherent psychological desires. However, when you see fashion magazines with stick-figure women on them, that also isn't the average standard for attractiveness, either. Beyond that, it's still just an average, and hundreds of millions of people don't just go for that archetype.

Plain English: there's a "perfect" shape for a woman in society, but it's not the one most people think of, and you don't have to be that shape to find acceptance and companionship.

Just so someone might be fooled into thinking we're still on topic-- I think Eddie Brock would agree. Despite his psychoses, hypocrisy and violent nature, he's really a sensitive guy when it comes to innocents. :o

Not as sexy as the boom-microphone of a headset in front of a female mercenary's open mouth while she's shouting. :o

No problem, darlin'. I'm not expecting you to change your self-paradigm just from reading what I wrote, but I think you know that extensive plastic surgery isn't a real solution to your problems. Hell, it's outrageously expensive for one thing, but even if you had the money, would you really want to be liked for something that had been done to you, rather than who you are and what you look like as an unaltered human being? If they offer you an adamantium skeleton at reasonable prices, I say take it, but plastic surgery that changes how you look is pretty creepy and nasty in many people's eyes. Again, watch 'Nip/Tuck' and you'll probably change your mind right off, just from disgust.

I couldn't begin to tell you how to improve your self-esteem (I think it's just remotely possible I have some issues with that myself...), but I can reiterate the fact that there's plenty of possibilities for someone who looks like you (whatever you look like, I wouldn't know) and behaves like you. Even surly, ugly, misanthropic, critical bastards can find love, so a sweetheart like you should have a lot of opportunities.

Well since you put it that way;

VINO

V- VENOM
I- IN
N- NAME
O- ONLY

So Venom In Name Only, which refers to Topher Grace which will be Rami's "vision" of Venom.

LOL

But to answer Wolvenom's question, I don't think he's going to be a hero, anti-hero OR villain; he's going to be "Peter Parker's twin." We're going to have two guys who look almost identical, similarly sized, probably wearing the same outfit [one black, one red and blue], who work for the same employer, duking it out for some silly reason that has nary a thing to do with revenge.

I don't think the symbiote is going to be separated at any bell-tower and lurk around for a while, sulking and thinking about what to do next, I think it's going to jump ship to "Brock" while Peter is fighting someone else and so where's its motivation coming from? Why would it jump in the first place...? just totally FUBAR...

Great new avatar btw, Venom UK.

If I recall correctly, and there's a slim chance that I do, Drooley's comment didn't make sense to me at the time. What I said in response was, as Venom_uk pointed out, a maxim for all situations.

I just purchased a new bottle of JD earlier today so I can get drunk again, i'm gonna watch the Spider-Man animated series (Venom SAGA 1-3) so I can re-live the one true "VENOM", and rid of the VINO nonsense from my mind.
