I just purchased a new bottle of JD earlier today so I can get drunk again, i'm gonna watch the Spider-Man animated series (Venom SAGA 1-3) so I can re-live the one true "VENOM", and rid of the VINO nonsense from my mind.
Now that, to me, sounds like one quality night in.

JD - Goooood.
The Venom Saga on DVD - Goooood.
Expelling VINO from your mind for any amount of time - Goooood.

That's true Sym, I just wanted to post some symbiote spider-man pictures for the heck of it. Let's just call it the "genesis" of Venom. As much as I like the new "black costume" for Spider-Man, i'd rather much prefer they used the original black suit. But oh well.

And too think that Topher Brock will be Eddie Brock...it distorts the mind, and it can only bend so much. Honestly, why Topher? They had Norman, Otto, Flint, Harry all casted right on the head of a needle. So where the **** does Topher come into play? I dunno anymore, it's just not worth it anymore. Why do I even bother anymore.

It makes you wonder what drugs Raimi is on.

How he can follow such perfect casting choices with such a massive ****-up is simply beyond my comprehension. Nothing lasts forever, I guess.

I bother for the simple reason that those dolts in Spoilers deserve to have their cages rattled. Honestly, its like they're brainwashed in there.

Hate to say it, but if Gopher really is Venom [I am still not 100% convinced], I hope that movie crashes and burns harder than the Hindenburg.

Yep. Does make ya wonder "WTF?!?" this time around, 'cos like you said, up until now he's had the casting pretty much spot on. In some cases I really can't see anyone else playing certain roles in the movie.

I give these people a golden, well-thought out idea. The SM-3 forums have lost all hope, they're just obsessed with their VINO. Maybe i'll present this idea here, to give it a second breath of life.

Imagine;

Brock is at the church in front of the alter, on his knee's praying for forgiveness for thinking of suicide. He is such a wreck, on the brink of sobbing and his mind is filled with nothing about the failures of his life, and his ultimate hatred of spider-man and everything he believes that spider-man has done to him. Of course we hear the church bells above ringing (well, we know a ceartin web-swinger has just rid himself of an otherworldy being).

"Forgive me" Brock says, his voice deep with sorrow.

Without warning a drop of black lands right in front of Brock, and yet another droplet of black. Eddie looks up and see's an amphorphous form descend from the ceiling, Eddie screams but it's too late as various tendrils whip out and wrap around his arms and legs, restraining him. It closes the distance, Brock is screaming in pure terror and panick, thinking that this is the end. The symbiote slithers over his entire body, overwhelming his form, and soon terror begins to take shape as it conforms to his body.

During this whole process, racing through Brocks mind aside confusion and fear, he hears a voice, yet it's not a voice. It's something he understands, as if something is communicating to him. Flashbacks of every little miserable thing flashes through his mind, as well as the terrible stuff. But it all leads to one thing, and that is Spider-Man. Soon Brock see's in his mind countless worlds and the unknown...and the symbiote reveals something to Eddie, Peter Parker...is Spider-Man, your greatest hatred

As the symbiote finishes merging large, souless white eyes form. An inhuman mouths forms, filled with crooked, jagged teeth and a tonuge lashes out. A large distored spider-like shape forms on his chest and back, a symbol of hatred. Putrid saliva spills out from his jaws as he lets out a horrible shriek which echoes throughout the building, and throughout the nearby streets. It goes beyond anger, it's so loud and cruel that we know a very bad storm is brewing. We should be worried, for Peter. Various birds fly from there perches and they streak across the night sky.

The sky is the limit now.

Tis indeed true. I totally retcon'd Millars crap from MK:SM in mt 1st post (bwahahaha!!!) & I was part of the Sinister 5 for a while during the 2nd (I think!) season. Venom's changed hands a fair few times since then though I think...& now you're taking control I can see from your sig. Do Eddie proud dude. :venom::up:

I will do :up: He's one of my favourites to write at the moment.

Right now if your interested, Eddie tried to commit suicide again because he wanted more from his life than just a crusade against Spider-Man. While in hospital, he began and obsession with a nurse. Now he’s ringing her house and turning up at her work, following her in the street and beating her boyfriend ****less.

The initial idea is that without the symbiot, Eddie as no power he’s just a guy, and what I’m doing is showing him coming to terms with that he has to have that power, to be someone.

Interesting direction you've taken Eddie there. Eddie does have a soft side to his personality & he definitely has an obsessive side, so him being infatuated with a woman like that isn't at all out of the question, IMO.

Meh, I found it worth a read when Venom was duking it out with Superman, it was funny especially when Venom was wearing those sunglasses, lol. As for the fact that Venom held his own, in my opinion, who gives a ****, it's a comic book. If people were that pissed and upset they need to seriousily think over their life's and see what went wrong.

... you know, I have a question - seriously.

Why are those goofs over in Spoilers so extremely upset that their precious Venom might not wear the white spider-emblem, or have any white markings at all? I mean, we've already got the proverbial 90-lb. weakling playing "Brock." After that, what on earth do a few white markings matter? We already well know from past precedent that they're going to make changes to every costume. There is no sense fussing about it - it is 100% going to happen.

In my opinion the changes are usually good ones, so its not like I'm one of these "it must be exactly like the books, down to pink pointy elf-shoes!" types. Its not that I'm *decrying* costume-tweaking. Its needed to some extent.

I just don't get it. The character's already ruined, why quibble over the white emblems? People are strange.

[and :up: to Venom smacking Supes around... I should hunt that up just for a good laugh.]

OMG!

I came home from my graveyard shift a few minutes ago, my house was ransacked and I saw little muddy foot prints all over the floor! And on the wall in the kitchen was, "Watch your soul" and then I saw two little eyes peering at me from outside the window, I ran out onto the deck only to find nothing. But I did hear laughter, i'm not going to sleep at night.

That picture was taken by someone i know at a recent doll "meet-up," that's the combined collections of about 40 people. Venom III is even more worthy of the name Scorpom now he has his Scorpion style tail. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad to be honest...

Actually, the guy writing this (Kolins) is the main reason why I'll be checking this book out. He did a great job during his run on 'Marvel Team Up' so here's hoping he'll deliver the goods this time around too.
Who knows, the dude may even 'kill' off Scorpom for us. Wishful thinking I know, but screw it! :p

Not being funny, but we've seen two (maybe even three) Green Goblin, one Shocker, one Hobgoblin, one Mysterio, one, Scorpion & god knows how many other Spidey villain 'fan threads' die on their ass within the space of a month...IF that. Now, if a Green Goblin thread can't stand the test of time, what hope does a piss-poor, mish-mash or a villain like Scorpom have? I mean really, come on!

Eddie's too hung up on the value of innocence, at least, he was in the issues I've seen him in. He wouldn't rape anyone.

That is, when I say Venom, I mean the REAL Venom. Not the lethal protector, not the confused crazy with no motivation or chracterization. Leave the insanity to Carnage, who perfectly embodies it.

I love Venom for who he began as - a man with morals, but with one motivation: destroy Spider-man. This is him, pure of essence, before any of the other crap happened.

I drew this little ditty on Ultimate Venom. Y'all might not like him, but I do. For one, he's alive. And you have to admit, his motivations are pretty good. The only thing I dislike about him is how he doesn't refer to himself as "we", but otherwise, I like the character.

I WAS going to do a comic on Eddie, post-Venom arc, sensing Peter nearby and turning into Venom, hopping a fence and into a graveyard to get to him, and then noticing what Peter was there looking at - a grave, reading "GWEN STACY - A girl who understood the world better than it understood her". Peter, of course, had already walked away. The suit would receed, and Eddie would lament the loss of Stacy and blame it on Parker.

Unfortunatly, no. :(

Bagley draws my favorite Venom, so I've been screaming & shouting for Toy Biz to give us a Bagley styled Venom figure for months & months & months. We do have a Romita Jr style Venom though (Sinister 6 boxset) & two other Venom figures but I'll be damned if I can tell which artists version each on eis based on. lol

As for recommending an alternative Venom figure...if you can't get hold of a loose Sinister 6 Venom, I'd suggest you go for the one from the latest 'Spider-man Classic/Amazing Spider-Man' series. Should be pretty easy to find.
Bagley draws a awesome Venom, but I hate the Ultimate version. It's too much of a hulking monstrosity.
I have to say I like both. The only thing that annoys me is when Ult Venom get's passed on as regular Venom on merchendise or whatever....grrr!

Personally speaking I don't have that much faith in Grace's acting ability. From little of seen of him so far he is nothing special & doesn't even stand out as a 'good' actor when compared to other up & coming young actors of the same age...& I gave up hope on this movie a looong time ago, I can tell you. :down:

Well they didn't kill off Eddie he just got cancer and the only way the symboite could cure it was to fully become venom but Brock did not want that so now the symboite went away and now Eddie is who knows where but im guessin that when Eddie is about to die the symboite will join with him again

Eddie Brock last showed up in 'Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #8' (Venomous: Part 4). This is the issue where he, ahem, "killed" himself. & he got a whole panel to do it in too! Lucky Eddie! :down

That pretty much sums up what happened in MK:SM pefectly, IMO. But I have faith that once Marvel have had their little fun with 'Scorpom' (see 'Beyond' in July), they'll return the Symbiote to it's rightfull host.
Hell, that may very well be the only good thing to come out of Venom being in S-M3.

Well, once again, the evil that is ebay lured me in & I ended up winning an auction for a Japanesse, 'Kaiyodo' mini figure...thingy! lol
Anyway, it's based on Ultimate Venom (Ult Spidey & Ult Green Goblin also available) & I think it looks pretty damn cool. The finish on the figure (metallic purple) is very nice, IMO. Plus, it's possable...kinda! :up:

But you know what?

I'm absolutely pissed off with this little thing. Peter up and DESTROYED Vegan, remember? Well heres the kicker.

It turns out, Vegan is much more then a class 20, or class 40. From Marvel's own site, Gargan is now a class 75, he's as strong as COLOSSUS.

And Peter, somehow, after being ambushed, and outsped by him, up and ****ing knocked his block off.

What a crock of ****, and what terrible writing.
That's probably the most annoying thing about this whole Scorpom mess. The combination of Scorpions own powers plus those of the Symbiote should of made Scorpom damn near impossible for Spidey to stop & should of turned him into one of his most dangerous foes, ever! Instead he was still portrade as a lilttle b*tch & got his arse well & truely whipped by Spidey...who then dropped a building on him.

Overall this is a pretty decent statue. The paint application in places (chest spider mainly) does leave a lot to be desired, although the blue shading on it is very nice.

If I had to give it a mark out of ten, I'd probably go with 7/10.
Not the best statue ever, but still pretty cool.

Thanks. It helps if you know exactly what it is you're looking for. In this case, I ran a search for "marvel saga collection venom", & was lucky enough to find one auction currently going on. By a UK seller thankfully so that was easier on the P&P.
Also, if you just type "venom" into the search engine, get ready to do a lot of sifting through to find something you might actually be interested in.

We'll I do an advanced search and input venom ______ figure. For example, I have the alternative "green" Venom the Madness figure, but I want the original black one, so I'll put Venom Madness in the advance search for collectibles. Still I usually don't find what I'm looking for...the closest result was the Five set figures and I only need that one one figure.

Try running the search in the normal search window, & not the collectables one. I never use specific catagorie searches. You tend to miss out on a few things if you use them I've found.

I'm missing a lot of the early Venom figures, so I've no idea wtf the 'Madness' Venom figure looks like. Hell, I might have it for all I know! lol

Remember a few months back I previewed some pics of a Venom bobble-head that would be coming out this year? Well they're finally out (thanks to Electro UK for the tip off ;)), & they f'in ROCK! Literally! To see just what I mean, check out the video of Venom, & Doc Ock, in 'action' in Doc Ock's lair (http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201363&page=89). :up:

So yeah, for once I actually managed to find a piece of Venom merch without scouring in the internet or raiding ebay. Makes a plesant change, I can tell you. lol

As you can see from the above pic, Venom looks fan-f**king-tatsic! The sculpt & paint job on him are as good as anything I've seen on any statue. & all for under a tenner. Bargain!

These bobble-heads are so cool, I'm going back for the Spidey & Carnage ones later in the week & I'll even go as far as to give this Venom a 9.5/10 rating! If you buy any piece of Venom merch this year, make it this bobble-head. :venom:

I wouldn't say my 9k posts here on the Hype! where for nothing. I'm sure one or two had meaning, or a point to them. ;) lol

The bigger avatar doesn't really bother me that much to be honest. I was still using a 75x75 one when i could of been using a 100x100 anyway...

Plus, the way I post, I'll have a 100x100 avy in no time. :D

I've been wondering what video game characters could be used for the SM3-Video Game. How do they go about choosing them?

At least the Venom in the new Heroclix set is amazingly powerful, and probably the second best, maybe third best peice in the set.
