I really don't like the Ultimate Venom, and the reason is because they're going to just change his color...and probably with no explanation; he was purple for crying out loud, why would he return and have a black color to him all of a sudden? Kinda like how when Peter first meets Venom, there's a box in where, after Peter swings away from the football field, it shows the white spider logo on Venom's chest and that's the only time...and then in the Ultimate Spider-Man video game, it has this whole story of how Venom eventually gets that spider logo by taking in the remaints of the Venom suit particles inside/outside Peter.

And just imagine if Brock Lesnar got the part to play Venom...sure, his acting skills might/be capable of sucking, but at least Venom would be this huge monster.

I highly disagree. Brock needs balance; if they get a muscle bound guy who can't act(it's not impossible to find one, but you've just got to look) then this will hurt the character. Sure he'll be a big monster, but if he's got horrendous skill, he'll will be a laughing stock; can you imagine poor delivery of a dramatic and painful bonding sequence, poor delivery of dark humor and sadistic, threatening lines? Acting skill is a bit more important than looks in my opinion.

I disagree, I would rather have the actor be fantastic than the actor looking very muscular. As I have said before, Topher did an amazing job as Eddie Brock/Venom. :up:

See, I care what one of the most important Spidey villains should look like...I didn't have any grudges on the looks of Green Goblin(which was fine with the armor, because the Goblin suit was part of what OsCorp made) and Doc Ock(a brown trenchcoat works better than a green jumpsuit), but, even though the symbiote itself looked good, the look and size of Venom, no, it just wasn't Venom...he was just Eddie to me, just for those reasons...and the only thing I liked was that his webbing was black and opposite to Spider-Man's webbing. Venom should've been bigger in size than what Peter was, because Eddie Brock was always a stronger-sized person, and we should've got the 616 Eddie Brock and not Eddie Brock, Jr., especially since we didn't get the Ultimate version of Venom and the Venom suit. Just my own opinions.

Wow you sound ridiculous...I was talking, way back on my first post about Venom's colors...the Ultimate Venom, when he first began, he was purple and now on that latest preview of an Ultimate Spider-Man comic, it shows a black Venom, and my question and complaint was that, why did they change up Ultimate Venom's color and I hope they give a reasoning to that, and not just have him show up with a new color.

No...no way the Eddie Venom(he's not Venom imo, he's Eddie Venom in the movie) in Spider-Man 3 was near McFarlane and Bagley's version AT ALL. And as for that question, why would the symbiote make Eddie a beast in the comics and not Spider-Man? It all deals with that anger and aggression that the symbiote has for Spidey, hence why it made Eddie this huge monster. What is the book your writing about?

Well I thought of it back in high school, and worked on it in my free time...it's this story about an Arcangel(Adam) who was in the crossfire during a battle of two other higher-ranking Arcangels(Mordacai and Michael), with one double-crossing the other because he makes a deal with the Devil(Mordacai is the one who made the deal) and the younger Arcangel gets sent to Earth, so he doesn't get killed because he's the "Prodigal One" to be a savior of some sort. He comes down in a storm of lightning and he gets brought down by lightning to this house owned by a police officer, his wife, who's a nurse and their fifteen year-old son, named Andrew...that all happens while Mordacai watches and the Devil brings him to Hell(I only call it the Underworld) and he is damned to be the Devil's mercenary(that idea was just a new one after I watched Reaper, lol).

Time passes by with some insight on what happens to Adam. He joins high school with Andrew, trying to keep his powers hidden, blah, blah, blah and then the story comes right back, two years after graduation: Andrew had left to join the Army, his Earthly mother died from an unknown disease that I didn't get much into, and Adam is 20 and dealing with massive headaches, caused from him not doing what he needs to do; to become a true Arcangel but it'll be different since he's on Earth and there's no way for him to come back to the "Heavens", but he can however participate in some training with Michael(who still lives, but at a weakened state ever since Mordacai attacked him) and it happens when Adam falls asleep one night and his essence is carried out of Earth.

Flash-forward 5 years and Adam awakens in his bed; his father has kept the house but he also lives in Phoenix now where Adam hears his father's voice yelling at a man who just robbed a bank. Adam comes down to stop it, but his father gets shot and Adam deals with the man, accidentally killing him with his strength.

So, yah, it's a twist on what would happen if there was an Arcangel on Earth...my twist is that he becomes a superhero; no mask, just dark clothes with an insignia on his shirt and chest that developed while his "essence" was training. There's Mordacai that escaped from Hell(Underworld) when Adam returned back to Earth and Mordacai becomes the villain in the story.

Possibly could use some work, but it's something I thought of and just went with it...so far, I'm liking it; others may not, but it's just something I am enjoying on my free time.

A huge magical burst almost destroys them all, but insteads restores everything back to normal and sends Kulan and Sonja to their times. Peter and MJ talk about her wearing mideval chain thongs.

The original Venom was so interesting and he just pulled us into the story. I really can't say the same for Gargan Venom.

In short time I will be releasing the first chapter of my story, "Spider-Man: The Speed of Darkness" which is a re-telling of the entire Venom myth. I am pleased with the progress and how it is turning out.

Plot: A massive object from outer space impacted Siberia June 30th, 1908. The blast leveled over a half million acres and was a hundred times more powerful then the atomic bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima during World War II. Fast forward to present day, a man named Talon Gosselin, an Astrobiologist has discovered meteor fragments from the Tunguska explosion of 1908. Gosselin will take a trip to New York City to visit his old friend Doctor Curt Connors whom which will make a startling discovery.

Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man, a superhuman protector of innocents is on the trail of a powerful crime syndicate led by a man only known as the Kingpin. Standing in his way is the powerful super villain known as Electro, and the sadistic madman known as the Sin-Eater followed by the Enforcers. A good friend of Peter Parker from the Daily Bugle, a journalist known as Eddie Brock has been following this case for quite sometime now, the more they uncover they see a trail of corruption leading right into the police force.
All the while something quite extraordinary will forever change Peter Parkers life, something from beyond the stars which will result in an eerie black suit and turn Peter to the darkside. ...Gargan still has the symbiote by Thunderbolts 120. From the solicts, it sounds like Venom has gone renegade and left the TBolts behind. This could prove either good or bad for Venom. On the one hand, Venom is interesting in the pages of TBolts, but he hasn't been able to branch out and do anything all his own. Leaving the TBolts will give Venom a chance to stand out, but he's also leaving the sanctuary of the TBolts creative team.

In short time I will be releasing the first chapter of my story, "Spider-Man: The Speed of Darkness" which is a re-telling of the entire Venom myth. I am pleased with the progress and how it is turning out.

Plot: A massive object from outer space impacted Siberia June 30th, 1908. The blast leveled over a half million acres and was a hundred times more powerful then the atomic bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima during World War II. Fast forward to present day, a man named Talon Gosselin, an Astrobiologist has discovered meteor fragments from the Tunguska explosion of 1908. Gosselin will take a trip to New York City to visit his old friend Doctor Curt Connors whom which will make a startling discovery.

Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man, a superhuman protector of innocents is on the trail of a powerful crime syndicate led by a man only known as the Kingpin. Standing in his way is the powerful super villain known as Electro, and the sadistic madman known as the Sin-Eater followed by the Enforcers. A good friend of Peter Parker from the Daily Bugle, a journalist known as Eddie Brock has been following this case for quite sometime now, the more they uncover they see a trail of corruption leading right into the police force.

All the while something quite extraordinary will forever change Peter Parkers life, something from beyond the stars which will result in an eerie black suit and turn Peter to the darkside. Everything Spider-Man stands for, everything Peter Parker loves and holds dear to him will be threatened. Mighty Avengers 7 is out. The Venom Virus arc. Mark Bagley's artwork is hot!

Spider-Woman rejoins the Avengers. Black Widow is uber pissed. Ms. Marvel seems ok with that. Ares wants to make Jessica Drew is, he so horny for her. Tony asks himself "Who does he trust" when he begins to realize that someone on his team is a Skrull assigned with killing him...including himself (yes, he might be the Skrull trying to kill himself. That makes sense no matter how many times I repeat that). Meanwhile, some astronauts in outer space (where else would they be?) are examinig/fixing some destroyed spaceship/satellite/something (I just read the book, and I did skip some parts) when a strange...orb falls to Earth and lands in Manhattan (where else could something like this happen?), exposing everyone to a virus that (for lack of a better explaination)...turns everyone into symbiotes. Black symbiotes and red symbiotes...think Venom without the white spider symbol (or you can just think of Ultimate Venom, ha!) and think of Carnage without the black swirls splashed on his red "skin" (or just think of Ultimate Carn...ya know, this is Bagley right off the helms of USM, off course these guys are gonna look Ultimate-esque.)

Marvel Adventures Spider-Man is out, with Venom as Spidey's sidekick.
It tries to be a humorous story where Venom escapes from prison and decides to team-ip with Spider-Man to become a "Lethal Protector."

The White Rabbit gang is on a crime spree when Spidey and Venom takes them on. Venom acts as if he genuinely wants to reform and Spidey reluctantly shows him the ropes. When they finally track down the White Rabbit at a docked ship, Venom gets himself captured and bound with chains in front of a large foghorn speaker. White Rabbit threatens to blast Venom with sound if Spider-Man doesn't surrender. Spidey reveals he knows the two (Venom and White Rabbit) are working together. Earlier when Spidey and Venom where tracking down the WRG (White Rabbit gang), Venom showed an alarming amount of knowledge on the subject of "Alice in Wonderland", the smae knowledge Spidey has (the stealth suit transfered Peter's memories to Eddie so that's how he knows). So.....ya know, the whole plot was so convuluted, you reeeally have to read this book to see how this all leads Spidey to discover that Venom was working with White Rabbit. And why were the two working together? 1) For the absolute dumbest reasons (I'm sure, they weren't explained), The White Rabbit sent letters to Edddie while he was in prison and they fell in love...

WHAT?!?

...and 2) Because Venom wanted to trick Spidey into lowering his guard so Eddie could "return the stealth suit to him". WAIT A F.U.C.K.I.N.G. MINUTE! In his Marvel Adventures deut, Eddie WANTED the stealth suit! Why would he actually want to go through all this crap & give it back?! And no, Eddie wasn't being controlled by the suit, so it was using him to get back to Peter, EDDIE ACTUALLY WANTED TO GIVE IT BACK!

The writer doesn't even try to take Venom seriously in this book. He purposely treats Venom like a joke (yes, this is a joke story, but c'mon!), creates a complicated rationale behind both Eddie and the White Rabbit's connection and a non-sensical reasoning behind him trying to give back the power symbiotic stealth suit!

Pass me the blunt while I await Ultimate Venom's return in USM. That's the only Venom worth investing interest in now. We've lost Venom, peeps.

Eddie Brock to get his stand alone film, Venom is coming back to the big screen!

One of the biggest disappointments from Spider-Man 3 was how they developed the villains, or actually how they didn't develop the villains, but between the three baddies that we had to contend with the biggest let down was Eddie Brock A.K.A. Venom.

Venom, by far one of the coolest villains in the Spider-Man universe, was played poorly by Topher Grace and was definitely one of the biggest let downs in the entire Spider-Man trilogy.

Not to say Topher Grace was the wrong man for the job, but with poor material and a badly put together movie, you just weren't going to get any stellar performances. I mean, asking God to kill Peter Parker is one of the lamest lines I've ever heard.

But Venom fans rejoice, Marvel is moving forward with a new stand alone film, yep you heard right, Venom is coming back to the big screen.

We've confirmed that "the studio" has met recently with several "A list writers" about a spin-off film.

Eight years ago, New Line Cinema held the theatrical rights to Venom. Since then, the rights have reverted back Marvel. But does Sony have complete control over the character since he was a part of Spidey 3 or does Marvel control the rights to the character with Sony only having distribution rights?

We have to assume that since there is movement and there has been recent meetings with writers this property must belong to Marvel since they have made an interim agreement with the WGA and proceed to develop projects during the current strike. Either way, one thing is for certain, Venom will get a second shot at the big screen.

Will it be a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type of storyline or are we going to see other characters from the Marvel universe such as Scorpion or maybe even Carnage? Let the assumptions and speculation begin. We will try to get Marvel and/or Sony to go on the record early next week.

Here is more info on Venom:

Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, is the name given to the first symbiote life form to appear in the fictional Marvel Universe. The creature is a sentient alien with a liquid-like form. It requires a host, usually human, to bond around for its survival. In return the Venom creature gives its host enhanced powers. In effect, when the Venom Symbiote bonds with a human to form a super-villain, that new dual-life form itself is also often called Venom. The symbiote, with or without a host, is an arch-enemy of Spider-Man, who was the first host it merged with before its evil motives were clear. After Spider-Man rejected it, the symbiote went on to merge with other hosts and so began its popular reign as the villain known as Venom.

The Venom Symbiote first appeared in Secret Wars vol.1, #8 where Spider-Man first encountered it and unwittingly merged together. After Spider-Man rejected it the Symbiote merged with Eddie Brock, its most well-known host, in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (April 1988). Its current host is Mac Gargan, the villain formerly known as Scorpion.

Originally, the Venom symbiote was portrayed as a mute and lonely creature craving the company of a host. More recently, it has been shown as increasingly abusive of its hosts, and having the powers of speech. Also the Venom Symbiote itself has no known name, as Venom is essentially the moniker it has adopted since its history with Spider-Man on Earth.

According to S.H.I.E.L.D., it is considered one of the greatest threats to humanity, alongside Magneto, Doctor Doom, and Red Skull.

The Venom symbiote also appears in the film Spider-Man 3 first merging to Spider-Man's suit and then to Eddie Brock. Wikipedia

And his design was awesome, and I'm not talking about the one posted above with the orange background on the cover (Which is a pretty damn good design, too). I'm talking about this. Similar to the original Venom, yet different. One of the better Venom interpretations, IMO. And the the spider-emblem on his chest is neat! He was always meant to be a different Venom, just like Spider-Man 2099 isn't Peter Parker. The writers of 2099 handled Venom pretty good, the plot line involving Venom was a real page turner. This is one arc I highly recommend reading!

I find that most people that hate Venom are classic spider-man villian fan boys. That don't like it when a bunch of people say Venom is better then there favorite villian. Doc Ock and the Green Goblin are examples. But I say Venom is all classic!:sym:

I have to say that I grew up with anime (dragon ball z, fist of the north star...) and my first contact with Spider-Man was with the cartoon, and it did make such a constrast with the other cartoons, but it was "average" for me, and in the show, I found EVERY villain's look to be cheesy (and I still find the green goblin's look cheesy for example) except for one guy: Venom. I can't explain it, but in every episode I saw, I was always like "oh in the end he'll beat him" but when it was Venom I thought that maybe Spidey would loose

That's what I think is one of Venom's strongest features, he is one of the most charismatic villains ever and has a huge visual presence

The Ultimate Spider-Man game wasn't bad, it just had some flaws in it. I did enjoy playing as Venom though. Spidey3's game storyline had flaws to such as the story. There were things I liked about the story and things I didn't.
