Personally I love Venom/Eddies 'Protector of innocents' thing he had going on.
I liked that fact no matter what he did, how many people he killed/injured, if it ment he saved or protected someone, in his eyes he was doing OK.
Plus this way, he IS an evil version of Spider-Man in almost everyway. Which was what first drew me to him anyway. :cool:

I don't see him as evil. Just because he has a scary bunch of teeth, a slimy tongue, and a black suit...He has a twisted way of being a superhero...he is more of an anti-hero. Villians have no regard for human life, Venom does.

I haven't gotten the first TPB of the Venom series, so I can't comment on that art, yet.
__I have ordered it, and hopefully I'll have it by Saturday, since I'm travelling soon.
__I read the TPB "Run" and I found the first artist HIGHLY satisfying, and found the second one...fair. I can't say enough good things about the charactors, and the plot. I highly recommend reading it just for either of those two elements.

I enjoyed V vs C a lot despite the last issue and continuity error, definitley check it out. Crane's art is absolutely gorgeous.

Upon first reading it back in the day, I remember being uite pumped after ASM#375, but now it just plain sucks.

The first 3 issues where interesting, and Bagley was good in the first 3 issues, but then Ron Lim on pencils for the last issues really sucked and the stuff w/ the extra symbiotes was brainless.

It also did not add up how Spidey let Venom go after Treece at the end.

Thoughts?, who liked it in it's entirity?

Hey fellow Venomites. Remember a few months ago (November I think) I said that I managed to order a 'Real Action Hero' Venom figure (the really kick ass one from Japan) from a UK supplier? Well I e-mailed them the other week asking if they'd recieved any yet to ship to me. Anyway I got one back from t hem today & it turns out there original supplier let them down but they might be able to get it for me from another supplier. For about £170! F**k...That!!!
So now it looks like I'm not going to own this figure. Bollocks! :mad::(

I only read the last Lethal Protector, so I can't comment on Bagley's work. But I recall that Spidey was a little distracted with the diggers to stop Venom from going after Treece....maybe that's just me.

Jawline modified a bit from the original, cuz I liked the way the Ultimate version's symbiote strung between his jaws. Ugh, disgusting... so of course my Venom had to do it.

I have seen it, I'm neutral on the subject.

If that is an inexpensive kit, it's probably made of Styrene. Those are the hardest possible kits to build, because every piece has two halves, so you have this huge seam running around everything. It's okay, nothing that great.

Plus the sculpt does not wow me, so I'll stay content with Horizon Venom and "Consumption," which I'll be working on this week some. [this coming week is spring break for me. And much needed, too.]

They were the 5 new sym's in the story Separation Anxiety.I'm not sure how they were created and their last appearance but all 5 are dead now

The 5 symbiotes from seperation anxeiety, Scream, Lasher, and 3 other unamed symbiotes debuted in Venom: Lethal Protector. When an orgainization called the life foundation captured Venom, they extracted his remaining offspring (like how the Carnage Symbiote was) and artifically matured them and bonded them to elite guards.

At the end of the story the Syms were destroyed, but re-appeared in seperation anxiety, (cant't remember how) then in a later issue, all the Symbiotes aside from scream were dying, and bonded together, and then bonded to another guy and formed hybrid.

As far as Scream, she is still active as far I know, and the last story I saw her in was Venom Vs. Wolverine: Tooth and Claw.

I don't know Hybrid's status. And I'm pretty sure Riot was just created for a figure, but he may have been in the "Planet of the Symbiotes" storyline, I dunno.

Pink Female Symbiote - Leslie
Yellow Male Symbiote - Ramon
Blue Male Symbiote - Trevor
Green Male Symbiote - Carl

All un-named as Symbiotes though oddley enough.

Riot - From the Planet of the Symbiotes mini series. Haven't read it so can't say anything more.

Lasher - See above...

Hybrid - A combination of Leslie, Ramon, Trevor & Carl's Symbiotes merged as one (How the hell this happen god only knows as they wheer all killed in Sepiration Anxiety!) & joined with a Scott Washington. He was a good guy also.

SILVER S- I just followed your link to the latest Boy Genius and then splurged a big chunk of time reading the first 50 or so... Thank-you for such hilarity. It's a fantastic concept. I love how you charactorize Ock, Spidey, and Eddie. They feel simultaneously spot-on to the canon charactors AND divergent. The divergence is always intelligently and creatively extrapolated. Eddie is the least canon, obviously, of the 3- but even though you've gone really far into the animalism of the charactor, that's still a trait that is classic to the CB Venom, so not for a moment did it feel disconnected...but it was so much FUN, too. You know what is neatest? This is how kids would play-act these charactors, for the most part...this is what kids would be drawn to in the charactors. And this is what we're drawn to, also, but we obfuscate. Until we see something like this and recognize the FUN of these extreme qualities.

... man, I am so bummed by recent revelations in the 3 forum I can hardly stand it. I can't believe how upset I am over all that. We could have gotten Venom in 3, and look what we're gonna get instead! If tears would do any good, I would cry. Awful, horrible news.

my knowledge of these characters is extremely limited, but i can give you my take on everything. (that is if you want it :rolleyes: )

one of the few venom storylines i have in full is venom: the hunted. this contains two storylines one in the first half of each comic and one in the second half. they also diagree as characters simultaniously die and exist in both. in the first half, the anonymous four symbiotes, i don't know their names, each get eaten by a phage(alien who eats symbiotes) and at the end donna/scream gets attacked by the phage with undisclosed results other than that "there is, like, this very weird and very seriously hurt lady up on the roof of the first car." i think she had the top half of her head eaten off. therefore she's dead. i don't really know.

then in the second half o' the story, scream isn't mentioned, but hybrid exists alive and well, clearly not being eaten, though in the other comic his separate parts are separately ingested. can u make any sense of this? he's separate and dead, and at teh same time together and alive. WTF. that's all i have to say.

aside from that, Symbiotica, if you get the time, i think you could do a very good pic of scream that would totally do justice to her character. PLEEEASSE.

__Yes, that art doesn't do much for me. The way he depicted the symbiotic web-line seemed too fibrous- stiff and woody, like a tree trunk- it has no movement in it. That kind of sums up the whole of that page for me- looks static.
__SM 3 forum...to me, it looks like just a new round of rumors- but then, I thought the same of K's "unfortunate incident" in NA2, and YOU called it correctly. However, if Black Cat is a primary player in SM3, I feel that Raimi will develop and employ a charactor that is useful to the plot. I think she'll be depicted more interestingly than she is in the comics, more honestly, both sympathetic and negative- if you follow. She'll be a "sad case," I'll bet, not an icon for young girls, not somebody you'd want to emulate. That would expand on a facet of the early charactor, wouldn't it?
__I'm upset, of course, if there is a continued absence of Eddie Brock. I did hope 3 would set up for Venom in 4.
__Clinicals in Psych?! Wheeeee, Nemo Through the Looking Glass! Heh, heh- my sister had some funny things to say about her psych rotation. You know how young men buy those "clever" shirts that say things like "This Isn't the Life I Signed Up For"? They wear them a few times and then pass them on to charity as soon as they hook up with a female. So guess where those shirts wind up? On the backs of the homeless mentally ill, where they fit better than their manufacturers could ever have anticipated! Hilarious. A psych ward full of people emblazened with "I Can't Hear You Over the Voices In My Head," etc.

Straight up ridiculous...and Toxin...way to be creative...just another form of Venom. Maybe they can make a symbiote named Poison, Snakebite, Secretion...I mean come on. And give him an original look, not a mixture of existing characters. You can only apply the crazy symbiote story so many times before people just start to get turned off.

Stick with the orignal, that's all I'm saying. They already tried making 5 symbiotes in the early Venom issues, a good symbiote named Hybrid and a few others and they bombed. Learn from your mistakes, don't repeat them...over and over and over.
