I agree ShadyKitty, when they decide to use Venom in a Spider-man movie (my moneys on either 5 or 6), they need to make sure they pick the right guy as Eddie Brock.
The Venom side of things will probably be handled with CGI anyway so that's ok, but the Eddie side of things they need to get spot on.

Well he's deffinatly got Brock's physique, but having never seen him acting I'll take your word that he'd be good enough to play Eddie.

I'm sure he's done some acting but he's more of a comedian and he's got his own band too...

He's got the physique, the look plus he is already interested in the character so that's a bonus.

I don't think Venom would be too dark a villain for the Spidey movies, actually... the concept and theme is definitely dark, but it could be kept from falling into being too depressing by keeping Venom's traditional sense of humor from the comics. :)

I think Lizard in spiderman 3 is more likely. I mean are they going to skip the secret wars and the black suit or what? The best idea for spiderman 3 I have seen is the Sinister 6 I mean, Sand man, electro, Kraven, Dock Ock, vulture, and substitute Goblin for Mysterio and that movie rocks! Venom in spiderman 5 or six??? maybe I dont think Tobey Maguire will be spidey by then so who knows

I think we'll have Lizard in S-M3, although that might be abit to obvious. Green Goblin 2 (Harry) will make an apperance also I think. Thats why I think Venom will appear in either 5 or 6. Chances are by then we'll have a whole new creative team & cast by then anyway. I've heard someone say else where that Raimi is doing a 'Goblin saga' with the 1st three movies. Whats from saying we wont have a 'Venom/symbiote saga' in movies 4-6? That would be awesome.

S-M5 = John Jameson brings back alien symbiote from space. We see spidey in black suit for most of the move before he realises it's trying to take over him, then we have the usual seperation in church then the movie could end with the symbiote bonding with Eddie.

S-M6 = Venom Vs Spidey. Simple as :)

p.s. They really asked Molina back? Cool, but I can't see how that would work though! :confused:

He could be stunned,or dazed.But if Molina was asked to return by Raimi then I'm happy.The way Ock went down he could easily be brought back in a million different ways.
And hes notorious for repairing his damaged tentacles.Making them deadlier than before.

But on the subject of your thread............I'd like to see Venom appear in a movie.I'm not sure I'm keen on a saga of it though.

Ok, maybe a saga such as what Raimi's doing at the moment with the Green Goblin might be abit much for Venom. But I think they would have to use at least two movies to get a decent story out of it. I really don't think a Venom story could be told in a single movie. Unless it was about 5 hours long that is! :D

I think the reason he didn't say "I want to eat your brains!" in the 90's cartoon is becasue it was originaly a Saturday morning cartoon aimed at kids. Don't think parnets would be to thrilled about that. Although I'd love to have heard him say that. lol :)

Henry Rollins is a punk legend. He's mostly been doing spoken word albums and tours the past few years, and dropping an album with his band now and again. He's also done quite a bit of acting the past ten years or so:

I've seen him in several flicks, and I think he'd be perfect for the Venom role if they ever decide to use the character in a film. He can play crazy and pissed quite well.

Sure thing. If you like punk, check out his solo records or the band that made him famous: Black Flag (one of the grandaddy's of more mainstream punk). Of the films I've seen him in, I'd recommend:

Johnny Mnemonic (the story is cool, Keanu is atrocious, Rollins is awesome)

Morgan's Ferry (not a cinematic triumph by any means, but not a bad little indie film)

Bad Boys II (He's fun in that film, and hey...it's got a lot of explosions :D )

Does the shirt show Carnage over the park? If it does its probably a shirt left shirt from Hallowen Horror Nights from like 2 years ago. Yea Scream should be brought back. She was here for a little bit and then just disapered. Same thing with Hybrid.

I had noticed the hugh amount of Venom related threads in the S-M3 & Spider-man squels forums, but I try I keep out of thouse forums at the moment anyway because 99% of whats in them is pure BS.
IMO, there is zero chance of Venom appearing in S-M3. Eddie Brock on the other hand is always a possablity, after all he was mentioned quickly in the 1st movie.
As I've said earlier, I think Venom will appear in either S-M4 or 5. He's to popular for them not to include him in a movie (or two).

I agree.Spider-Man 2 is still in theatres and they already have threads on what plotlines and villains will be in Spider-Man 3.I think they should introduce Eddie in 3,just like they did Dr Conners in the 2nd.Not a huge part but just a couple of scenes with Peter in the Bugle maybe.

Well Vapor & a few others seem to think that Henry Rollins whould make a good Eddie/Venom, but having never seen him act I can't pass judgedment (I have just bought Bad Boys II on DVD which he's in so I'll let you know after I get round to watching that). Although he does indeed have the right look about him to play the part.
To be honest, I havn't realy thought about who I would like to see play Eddie. Obviously have to be a big guy, well bigger then Toby anyway!

I have no idea who would make a good Venom.Hes one of the toughest casting choices out of all of Spider-Mans villains.I mean I can think of other actors who would of made great Goblins and Doc Ocks.Not that Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina didnt do awesome jobs and I wouldnt have anybody else but them in the roles.
But what my point is before they were cast I could think of numerous actors to play Doc Ock or Green Goblin.But with Venom I honestly cant think of anyone.

Well I'm not sure about Kirsten Dunst.Shes adequate but not the the ideal MJ.With all the other actors they are perfect for the roles.But Venom is a villiain and Raimi seems good at picking his villains.And hes getting better at it too.I mean Doc Ock wiped his ass with Goblin in the movie :D

Not bias just stating the obvious.Goblins costume and most of his lines were very corny.Doc Ock looked cool,his villainous lines were cool,and he put more hurt on Spidey than Goblin did :cool:

Hopefully by the time Venom is due they will have perfected the cgi for characters like Venom.

yeah, GG's costume in S-M1 was abit duff! Mask was cool but the rest wasn't to hot IMO.
With the CGI in movies getting better all the time, by the time they get around to doing a film with Venom, it should be perfect. Remeber, S-M3 isn't out until 2007 so where probably looking at 2009-2010 for number 4, thats like 5-6 yeasr away. Who knows how advanced CGI will be by then. Should be perfect by then though yeah.

No, not really. What we'll probably see along with GG2 is the Lizard (if we see a second villain at all), which is kind of a shame because at this point, I think we've done "brilliant and somehow likeable scientist goes mad" into the ground. I for one am ready for a change of pace in that dept, know what I mean?

Its just wishful thinking on my part. I'm definitely ready for a new type of villain, and the only possible way we'll ever see Carnage is to see Venom first. (Not that I think that's a bad thing) As UK remarked, the best we can hope for is for them to set up Brock. They've been teasing us with him for two films now, its time to go ahead and do this.

Yeah you dont want to see another victim of science accident villain.I'd have to agree,but if they are following with their subtle hints then its Gobby 2 and Lizard.And Lizard is also a science victim turned villain.

it was about 200 bucks. I also picked up some other art in a package deal this was part of. including some mcfarlane spiderman and ultimate spidey

For me it would have to be Mark Bagley's version of Venom he drew for ASM in the early 90's. Classic look, adapted from Mcfarlanes original. He's not to big & bulky, yet still looks good.

IMO Bagley definitely does the best Venom. I was very surprised to read recently in Wizard that Bagley wasn't really all that fond of drawing the symbiotes - I guess because he does it so well, its hard to think of him not enjoying it.

Well until recently neither has Doc Ock or Green Goblin. Goblin wasnt in either of the PS1 games.

Doc Ock and Venom were in one of the PS1 games.I love that game.It rocked :D Spider-Man vs The Kingpin on the Sega Genesis had Doc Ock and Venom too.I loved that too.

V vs C was superb. Artwork, dialogue, everything was great.
Venom #17 on the other hand, was another matter. Really didn't do anything for me at all. Only thing I thought was good was the referance towards the bible & how the great flood was infact going to be aliens invading & wipingout the human race rather then a big wave as said in the bible. That was funny!

There was talk about a Venom movie being done a year or so back. But thats all it turned out to be, talk. The film company that baught the rights to the Venom brand has now lost it. It ran out I believe. So the rights are back with Marvel so he's all clear to go in a future Spider-man movie now. :)

Thats what I know/heard on the matter anyway. If anyone else knows more or anything different then please correct me. :D
