Just as I was finishing the following up, I got an email from a reader pointing me to a story from the good guys on DarkHorizons. They posted theirs a few minutes before us, but we got our email before the posted and from the quote DH uses in theirs it seems like we may both have gotten similar messages from the same scooper (and to my mind thus makes the whole thing slightly more suspicious).

It seems Warner Brothers has added a new name into the Justice League movie casting mix. A few minutes ago we received a message from a source claiming to have the inside track on who their looking at for the part of Superman. We already know Brandon Routh won’t be involved, and our source says the guy who may end up being in the blue tights is Rupert Evans.

Our scooper claims to have been a part of some of the JLA casting sessions in London’s Soho. She says of the actors in attendance, “I've heard today that one of them has been cast, or I guess is about to be cast, as Superman. I don't remember his audition, but I was out of the room for a lot of it. Anyway, the guy everyone is talking about is called Rupert Evans.”

Evans is probably best remembered from Hellboy, where he played agent John Myers. Since then the 30-year-old actor hasn’t done much, but he does have that all-American boyscout look you’d presumably want in a Superman... even though he’s not an American. Personally, I think they should cancel the whole thing or make it animated if they aren’t using Brandon Routh and Christian Bale as Superman and Batman, but Warners sees dollar signs and this may be the discount actor they hire as Superman in order to keep production costs down and profit margins high. I’m sure he’ll be super.

It wasn't just the film which was bad it was Halle Berry her acting was not only bad but she didn't portray Catwoman anything remotely similar comics, come on her name wasn't even Selina Kyle. Realistically though if they did include Catwoman in a future Batman film they won't be picking her, she is 41 years old remember and Christian Bale is early 30's and she's starting to look old.

Yeah, but they would have to change them so much that we barely recognise them from the comics. All for a minor role in the movie, with a character that isn't that great. All and all it would be pretty bad compared to how well they can make Catwoman the justice. And it would simply be just any other villian for Batman to hunt down.
And I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't give a ***** if Riddler or Penguin is in the movies. Catwoman is the ony character left that is a must for me.

Plus giving the Catwoman part to Berry is like giving Chris O'Donnell the part of Robin if they ever used Robin in the Nolan films, first he's a good actor but just not good as Robin just like Berry and second the films they belonged in were set in different universe's.

Michelle Pfeiffer is actually 5'7 and 1/2 sorry but I'm a nickpicker, yes Pfeiffer is hotter than most of young actresses nowadays even now(watch Stardust man I wouldn't mind..., you get the point) but Keri Russell is still very attractive and you don't really want a really famous person to play Catwoman personally I don't care too much on height that much and Keri Russel is about 5'5, Pfeiffer is 5'7 and Keri is 5'5 witch honestly isn't that much different.

Aeon Flux was a crap movie. But Charlize was good in it. As for wanting someone who has played a role "100 times", Jack Nicholson had played many "crazy guys" and villains before (and since) playing The Joker. How many times has Morgon Freeman or Liam Neesan played the wise-old mentor role? Bruce Willis or Harrison Ford the action hero? Charlize has played what 1-2 actions roles (type cast? geez..), and was good in them. Even if she were bad I'd still prefer it over someone untested (besides posing with a gun :whatever: ) and doesn't look the part. Although Ledger had never played a villain when his name popped up you could see he had it in him, and in his face, to possibly pull off the Joker. I don't get that all with Keri Russel (and believe me, I've tried).

His attraction to Catwoman at first is because of her appearance and attitude. As it is for every man. His deeper (and real) attraction was because of the similar (yet differant) pasts they share. And Bruce's attraction for Rachel Dawes probably built up over years, they knew each other so well. A greater physical attraction isn't neccessarily needed there. But for a stranger it usually is. Even more so for an adversary. I don't think he's gonna go "wow I bet this cat-burglar I'm chasing has a great personality" or "wow Catwoman's understatedly attractive". A sexy Selina Kyle would help distinguish her from Rachel Dawes and make her pop more in scenes. The last thing we need is another cute girl-next-door type, especially for Catwoman. And it is expected by the fans (not just Batfans, everyone that knows the character) that she be someone stunningly hot. This is a role 9/10 actresses in Hollywood from mid-20s to mid-30s are gonna go for. Charlize Theron fits the bill (and IMO would fit perfectly with the cast): A-list, top class actress, won an oscar (nominated for another), incredibly attractive, well respected, looks the part, can do action roles, the right age, etc. Keri Russel doesn't IMO. Even if it were all equal except for awards, or experience, or looks, or any single factor. It's still enough to put Charlize on top. I'm looking for the best casting choice, not any half-decent actress with a passing resemblance.

And there are actresses that can do all that and more. Charlize Theron for example. And she looks more the part and is more experienced in action roles, and vixen roles. Keri Russel may tick a couple of boxes but if there's someone who ticks more (or all) then you gotta throw Keri out.

I couldn't agree more ! During all the valley of Elah I was dazzled to see that it's Theron.....bit it's not at the same time ! She plays a very common lady and is quite unrecognizable sometimes (really I had to see it in my own eyes to be convinced she was in the movie, all the pics and the pôster I saw didn't strike me with her being in it...I thought it was an unknown actress until I looked closer)!


Sh'es a transformist and could very well be a Catwoman ! And she looks more the part than Keri yes ! Thoses eyes, her allure, the mystery she evokes....it's Cats for sure !
And yes she's an A listed actress but c'mon....so is Oldman and he seemed extracted from Year One in BB, so is Liam Neeson and he was great in BB too

First off, Rachel is not even a real character. They had to set that up so it would play out well for the film.
