ok i'm not a Catwoman aficionado, but i love the way Kate Beckinsale plays Selene in Underworld, and if she can do that she can definitely pull off Selina Kyle. and you don't even have to get rid of her accent! Selina Kyle sounds like an "English" name to me

Those are some great pics of Theron. She has some very similar features there to Jolie, minus the lips.

I have stated in the past (in this thread) the many reasons why I don't like Angelina Jolie for Catwoman. The poster I quoted was referring to her appearance, hence that is why my comment does also.

I've flirted with her as an option in the past. But she is very hit and miss; sometimes when I see her she reminds me of Selina Kyle, other times she doesn't and looks too old.

Keri Russell is my favourit choice for Catwoman. She's a hell of a good actress. Rising star. Not A-lister. She have recently showed an amazing award-worthy acting performance in 'Waitress', and (judging by the trailer) she looks amazing in 'August Rush'.

She's very beautiful, one of the most beautiful young actresses in Hollywood at the moment. She IS sexy. She's very sexy in a non-****ty classy moviestar kind of way. Without being over the top. MI3 showed that she can be a tough badass. There's a scene where Crazy-Tom throws her a gun and she cathes it she gets a very killer look at her face. It kinda reminds you of the one in the pic that was posted but meaner. Meaner than I've ever seen Jolie or Beckinsale or Theron do.
She can be sweet & wonderful which I believe Selina is. Makes her more human.
Keri has the big rock n roll hair that Selina has. It's not black but it's atleast not blonde. Shows some wildness.
Even though she has not done much action roles, MI was enough. And not too much.
I think Keri Russell fits the casting much, much more than Theron.
I believe Selina is very sexy, beautiful tough, but also sweet and wonderful.
I also think Selina & Bruce's relationship should be more based on love than lust. You are talking like ther is only one version of Catwoman. Every writer in the comics hve different interpretation of the character. Nolan will have his. There is no define version.

The reason I don't want Theron is becasue of a few reasons.
*uneven actress(1 great performance, some good, some mediocre, some bad).
*too much of a star, doesn't fit the casting.
*looks nothing like any Catwoman I've seen(mostly becasue of the blonde, staright hair)
*She played an extremely simular character in Aeon Flux. And she sucked. I don't think she can do it much different.

I disagree. Theron is a big name actress, but I don't think she's a big name celeb. I don't see her plastered all over the magazine stands or all over TV. I know nothing about her outside of her movies. Where as with Jolie I know too much.

Theron seems a much more versatile actress. With Jolie 4/5 movies she does seem to be "femme fatale" roles, and they all tend to blend in to one (at least for me). And with Jolie it's been nearly a decade since she's done anything of any real acclaim (Gia, Girl, Interrupted, etc.) Theron has been critically acclaimed, being nominated for two Oscars (and winning one) in the last three years alone. Not saying that's the reason Theron is better, just one among many. They add up. I've yet to see a reason why Jolie would be a better choice.

That's where I disagree. Catwoman has to be decently tall for me! If she doesn't have the body of a goddess in that catsuit then she may as well be Batgirl lol! My DC Encyclopedia says the Cat is 170cm (5'7"-ish I'm guessing, I use metric and can't be bothered converting) which is taller than the average girl but not exactly what you'd call statuesque, as someone said, it's really not that important to the character, so I'm open to any actress, as long as she can act. :up:

Maybe because some nationalities are more capable of mimicking an American accent than others. For example, do you think an Icelander like Bjork would be able to sustain a convincing American accent for the duration of a film?

Sorry, but I'm being realistic. It's naive thinking to assume that just because a person can make noises with their mouth they are instantly capable of speaking another language perfectly. Voice coaching is good, but it can't work miracles! How many American actresses would be able to speak flawless Cantonese?

The fact is with Eva that she's not very believable in physical parts ! She said so herself and it made her refuse some roles in the past ! That's my big problem with her as selina !
