i really dont find adams attractive. shes really only looks good in Enchanted. Maybe scarlett isnt the best choice for Vicki either, but shes alot prettier and i envision vicki being a little younger(maybe not 23, but a few years younger than bruce, and johansson can play someone older) and someone who is willing to get the story, no matter how hard it is to get. I dunno, i can just envision scarlett as vicki, not that id really want vicki in it though

I'm going off of Michelle P's performance as Catwoman in "Returns" plus Katherine is hot right now with the Emmy win and 'Knocked Up' too. She's getting hotter in films too, so why not bank on that and use her for Catwoman. If they want Catwoman in this series they have to get the actress close to Bale's age. I just think that works. i have all the faith in the world in her acting ability...but one must look at the physical too. she LOOKS like selina....she knows how to move like catwoman, she can play a villian (hancock)... shes the complete package. i just thought those pics showed well how she also looked the part.

Charlize Theron is hugely talented & critically acclaimed Oscar-winning actress. She is versatile & puts everything into her roles (something Nolan likes). Although she is a big name actress she is not a big name celebrity and there is no risk she would overshadow the film in any way. She has a striking resemblance to Selina Kyle (IMO), she is the right age, right height & I think would look incredible opposite Christian Bale. And I believe she can pull of a physical role.

Angelina Jolie is talented but hasn't done anything worth noting since her Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted. It's like she peaked too early. She can be versatile but most of her roles typically seem to be femme fatales. Although she can do physical roles. If given Catwoman I fear she'd give another typical Angelina Jolie performance we've seen dozens of times before. And the fact she is a huge celebrity risks overshadowing the character & the film as a whole. In her (physical) prime she did resemble certain artists' depictions of Selina Kyle, but nowadays she looks terrible. You'd be taking a risk, hoping she might all of sudden decide to try and get her old body back. You're taking a risk, hoping she won't overshadow the film. And you're taking a risk, hoping she won't just do another same old performance. It's not worth it.

As for Keri Russel, she is fairly talented and has earned some acclaim for Felicity & Waitress. The former was a long time ago & neither really sell her for a role like Catwoman. For me, there is huge doubt over her potential ability to do physical roles. Posing with a gun in MI:3 isn't enough, sorry. She isn't a huge celebrity, which is a plus. Appearance-wise I think she looks too cute & girl-next-doorish. Not Catwoman material. She also doesn't really have the on-screen presence, IMO, to match it with the likes of Bale, Caine, Oldman, etc.

For me it's not even a question, Charlize Theron is head & shoulders above any other candidate.

My GOD, it's like two different users but one mind! I agree with everything you've said about Charlize, Angelina and Keri Russell, except that I do have faith that Angelina would get her Tomb Raider body back if she knew she was gonna play Catwoman. BUT, I agree with all your reasons for why she shouldn't play her, even though I'll always love Ange!

For me, Charlize is the best candidate! Her acting talent is irrefutable (except in some tacky soap I saw her do with Terry Hatcher YEARS ago lol!), her physicality is incredible (finally people are starting to see my point that physicality matters!), she's tres statuesque, beautiful, glamorous, stylish, athletic, graceful (has a background in dance) and knows how to wear an evening dress like no other!

I've stated time and time again why it's a no for Beckinsale and Theron, I don't feel like repeating all the reasons why I don't like them. If you don't believe me, look for it. He did have to younger with The Joker too because of Bale's age. They are kind of yin-yang with each other. So the ages had to be close. Although the "left field" choice was Ledger, he may do that with Catwoman IF she is in the next film.
Hopefully that doesn't mean choosing a girl whose sexuality and beauty are not readily apparent at first glance.

I'm with ya there, Crook :up:. I was accused in the past of putting sexuality and beauty above acting talent, which is not true as I would NEVER consider a talentless actress to play ANY film role just because she was sexy :nono:.

However, in Catwoman's case, sexiness is a HUGE part of her character - she's practically the world's most iconic sex symbol, so the actress playing her has to have all the physical attributes as well as the acting ones.

It won't be that hard to find someone with a perfect balance between the two - we've already come up with some good choices here :up:. Hope Nolan's thinking along our lines :cwink:

mcgowan has the physical prowess for the role, yes....i will freely admit that. but when talking about acting she is more or less an unknown. and when you hire an unknown for a HUGE role that is exactly what you get.... unknown. its not worth killing thid franchise because she "has the looks and MAYBE can act"...
