Well Morgan Freeman is pretty much known by everyone, though I wouldn't say he's commercial.

I just don't see that as a good enough excuse not to at least audition her. I mean if she's really popular and she has the role down to a T, would you drop Jolie because of her fame?

I guess for me, because I'm so used to having her play the "Gwen Stacy" kind of role...nice and approachable. Not really the kind of sassiness cAtwoman needs...which Angelina has demonstrated. Then again, I haven't seen Charlize in a GREAT many movies...primarily the Italian Job.

I just can't see Jolie happening though. She's too well known and too recognizable, and Nolan's Batman isn't about having giant stars in the lead roles. Jolie brings along way too much superstar baggage.

If Jolie were cast, it'd obviousely be because Nolan thought she was the right person for the job, and she'd have done one heckuva screen test. But there are other actresses who I think would be much better for the role. Jolie is on everyone's minds because she's such a huge name, and so many people have seen her movies and like her. But for people like me, who haven't exactly been blown away by what they've seen of her *cough*tombraider*cough*, there just doesn't seem to be much to be excited about. I've never been a fan of Jolie, so I really don't see why I should think she's better for the role than someone else.

Alba would work just fine for the role, but the fact that she's in Fantastic 4 makes the prospect very unlikely. Many actors and actresses are very reluctant about taking multiple roles as Superheroes or Superheroines, and the ones that do (Halle Berry) often find their career swirling down the John. So while Alba may not be a hard sell to the director, I don't think she'd take the role. Eric Bana was approached for the role of Superman, and he didn't want to do it because he already did a superhero with The Hulk. If I were Alba's agent, and I saw what CINO did to Halle Berry, then I would probably be telling her to steer clear of doing any comic book characters outside of Fantastic 4. Especially since it's Catwoman, the role that killed Halle Berry's career (well, technically it was CINO, but her agent probably wouldn't know the difference).

I wouldn't mind Loken, either. She's really tall (5' 11"), but at least Bale is over 6' tall, so it wouldn't really be an issue. But still, many people feel that a tall Catwoman would be out of character and not very cat-like. That being said, my top choice for the role is still Beckinsale.

I really just don't want Jolie as Catwoman. From what I've heard, she can be pretty demanding as an actress when it comes to how her roles are handled in the script, and I don't want to see a script written around her. She's too big a name and as a result she might have big demands. I really don't want to see Catwoman's character written around Jolie, and I'm very concerned that that could happen.

My top choice is Beckinsale, but I certainly wouldn't mind someone like Alba or Loken. But I do not want Jolie in the movie. She's too big a star, and I have a bad feeling that she'd end up competing with Bale alot for attention.

You've got a point. But I think the 2 fan favs (Jolie and Beckinsale) have a better shot of that happening. The movement behind Jolie is almost nearly the same as Bale was for Bats. So that's why I think she has a better shot.

No, I'm pretty sure Jolie's number one because people feel she's best for the role. And I can see why, too. And CAtwoman sort of IS Lara Croft, just not globe-trotting or gadget-using. She is rich, though. (Unless we're working in a "Year One" thing, in which case she isn't)

It's because the original photographs were taken with a blue filter, so I decied it'd be easier to put Beckinsale through a blue filter than to try and remove the blue from the costume. Also, with the first pic, the image of Beckinsale came from the movie "Underworld", and so it was already tinted blue when I got it.

Bale is becoming more and more my favorite actor to play a comic-book role. In an interview with Wizard he said, "I'm playing Batman! That's pretty freakin' incredible. I'm not about to complain of a little sweatiness [from the suit]."
