If Catwoman is going to appear on a Batman sequel I think I have found the perfect actress to play her: the Academy Award winner CHARLIZE THERON!!!

Charlize Theron doesn't really have the same "Cat-like", or "Fetish"-like vibe that's important for Catwoman, IMO. Angelina Jolie delivers in this way. ;) I'd say the same for Ashely Judd or Gina Gershon, even though she's a little too old for Bale now. :)

Jolie is the ONLY perfect choice for Catwoman. When you look at her in some pics, it's very uncanny how she looks just like her comic counterpart.

Theron would be my second choice, but she's not anywhere near Jolie for the role. Yes, I do think she's the best casting decision that could ever happen to a comic movie because she is just too perfect. And yes, more perfect than Reeve or Bale.:)

'Jollyjohnny' alerted us that comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis announced this weekend at the Wizard World convention in Los Angeles that Charlize Theron will star in and produce the big screen adaptation of his graphic novel Jinx.

The crime series, published by Image Comics, features a bounty hunter, two grifters, and a treasure hunt.

No word yet on when production may start or which studio is distributing. This Jinx shouldn't be confused with the James Bond spin-off of Halle Berry's character from Die Another Day.

Aww...guess that means she can't play Catwoman if she's already a comic character, IF we want to stick to that rule (Rebecca Romign-Stamos in X2 and Punisher is excluded because you couldn't really tell it was her in X2).

Sorry, but I don't want Mrs. Jones to play Catwoman. My top choice is Kate Beckinsale. She's closer to Christian Bale's age, and she looks more like how I imagine a live-action Selina Kyle besides. And as she effectively demonstrated in Underworld, she's got the whole tight leather thing down (even though the movie sucked).

They're already doing Ra's Al Ghul, so unless they plan on bringing him back I think Talia is probably out of the picture (it's a shame, she could have made a very good leading female in Begins).

Why would she not make a good Catwoman is really the question. I'm tired of all the typical cast choices and I like to be different. I really can't see why she wouldn't make a good one. I don't want history to repeat itself. Halle Berry played Storm in Marvel and Fox's X-Men, then went on to be Catwoman, and she sucked. Alba is playing Sue Storm in Marvel and Fox's Fantastic 4, and so if she plays Catwoman we'd be recreating the exact same scenario that spawned CINO. I don't want this to happen. :P

I think Alba is fit for alot of bat-roles. She could play Catwoman for sure. Barbara Gordan as well. Don't forget TALIA. Oh and last but not least she can also play Huntress. Like Riddler said, Halle was Catwoman and Storm, who cares if she's gonna be in another comic book movie?????? Plus we are talking about a sequel here so Alba might have a change of plans in the future.

Agreed. And if Halle's performance in 2 comic book movies don't convince you, TIMSTUFF. Rebecca Romijn-Stamos has made her CARREER off the X-flicks and Punisher, not to mention Marvel is eyeing her for the role of Black Widow.

Alba has just recently wrapped up Sin City and is about to begin Production on Fantastic Four, slated for a Summer 2005 release. I think if Batman Begins blows up in the movie theaters next year Jessica Alba should consider herself eligble for the BB sequel. FF won't send her carreer into the atmosphere, but maybe BATMAN will.

I think Beckinsale wouldn't be such a bad Catwoman herself, She's absolutely gorgeous. I just hope Van Helsing didn't do to much damage to her carreer. Her accent in the film was horrible!!!!!

Hey, I loved Van Helsing. The little boy raised on Harry Hausin films inside me was screaming with glee throughout the whole thing. Yes, it was kinda dumb, but that just made me love it more. It knew that it wasn't a seriouse movie, and it didn't try to hide this fact, and I knew full well what the film would be going in, and I loved it as a result. It's on my top 5 list for this year, but alot of people probably think I have weird taste in movies since I'm a videogame and anime nerd. :P

I remember doing a thread a while back that had all the main players in the Batman mythos casted with their ideal film counterparts. For the part of Catwoman, it seems unanimous on here since I originally picked Kate Beckinsale as well. Must be the fact that she's a more than capable actress who looks REALLY good in tight black leather!

As for Rosario Dawson, she may even be a better choice for Det. Montoya (for those who don't already know, she was the character who was usually paired up with Harvey Bullock when going on duty). She certainly has the look and the presence for the role.

Kate Beckinsale should be Catwoman rather than Talia because A) There's no garuntee that Talia will even be in this series, so it'd be a waste to save her for a role that may not exist B) She has a better Catwoman look than any of the other fan favorites and C) BECKINSALE DANGIT!

Alba's frame is way too damn small for the role. She's too young. Acting skills are debatable. While hot, just not "Catwoman hot".


Jolie's frame is just perfect, especially if you look at Catwoman in the comics. She's a year younger than Bale. Acting skills are hardly a problem with her. She's hot, and is "Catwoman hot".

I'll give you a couple reasons why Jessica ALba makes a good Selina.:o

She is young and ripe enough for the part. I don't see how people think she looks 18. She looks exactly her age, which is 23. Bale barely turned 30 like 7 months ago. Alba wouldn't have a problem with BALE's age anyhow, she kissed Bruce Willis for crying out loud!!!!!!! Bruce Willis is old enough to be her father!!!!
She has experience in 2 Comic Book films already, she'll be ready for this film by the time both films are released. Jolie would too but that's another story. jessica Alba stands about 5'5 or 5'6, about one or two inches from CATWOMAN's hieght. She wants to play in another ACTION movie as said in her MAXIM interview, FF will be mostly CGI and Sin City will not have her physically active ( not in combat anyweay.) Catwoman would be a role she would love and do justice for, since CATWOMAN is about all about action when stealing and stuff like that. BERRY done f**ked the whole franchise apart, Alba can bring it back.
She would also help WB as well,since Alba's fanbase in the Hip-Hop Community is "like Whoa" ( "Honey" was one fine movie.)Snagging a few extra bucks from fans of ALBA that went to watch the "BATMAN BEGINS" ( WB signing with Rocawear and Rocafella Entertainment proves that WB wants to get more thoroughly involved in the Hip-Hop Community, so you'll never know!!!!!). My point is, she's the perfect magnet for today's youth, and you know WB wants today's youth to watch this flick, ( They were gonna cast Ashton Kutcher as BATMAN for christ's sake, just because they think he might attract enough attention!!!!).Oh and she's f**kin hot...........
