BAKER LAKE, Wash. - Rain-eeeeer .... Bear? When state Fish and Wildlife agents recently found a black bear passed out on the lawn of Baker Lake Resort, there were some clues scattered nearby — dozens of empty cans of Rainier Beer.
The bear apparently got into campers' coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans. And not just any cans.
"He drank the Rainier and wouldn't drink the Busch beer," said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mount Baker.
Fish and Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said the bear did try one can of Busch, but ignored the rest.
"He didn't like that (Busch) and consumed, as near as we can tell, about 36 cans of Rainier."
A wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground but the animal just climbed a tree to sleep it off for another four hours. Agents finally herded the bear away, but it returned the next morning.
Agents then used a large, humane trap to capture it for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual: doughnuts, honey and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier. That did the trick.
"This is a new one on me," Heinck said. "I've known them to get into cans, but nothing like this. And it definitely had a preference."

Is that 52 shots or what? Unless he weighs 1000 lbs, that's probably impossible.

Or 52 strong beers. That's like...208 dollars? Who would do that on a regular basis? Maybe he meant 5.2 :o

Lol I was wondering for a second. Unless you drink like my friend :).
We were at a kegger, and he had set next to the kegs drinking like a fish breathing water. Later on he challenged me to a drinking contest. I was up by about 5 cups and he was staggering around still on the 6th or so because he had already drunk so much. He walks out to throw up, and I just went ahead and declared victory. Nearly an hour later I hear in a slurred voice, "You better get back over here, I'm winning...". Of course later on he passed out in the rain on his back, I was afraid he'd drown like Turkeys do in the rain lol.
Point being, the human stomach only holds so much before you have to piss or puke it out.

36, hm? not bad... i can almost guarantee i've come close to and/or beaten that; based on everything i've heard about my drinking habits. i nearly always forget most of the night when i drink a bit too much. i apparently go on and whatever like normal (well, drunk normal) but in the morning, i remember absolutely nothing... only the first few drinks. last weekend i was told that i chugged a german mug thing (you know the kind i'm talking about) full of 'very old barton' whiskey...
granted, i don't always drink nothing but beer, or nothing but liquor in a single night, but all in all, i'm sure i've had at least close to '36 beers' worth of alcohol in one night.
i currently hold the record in falcon/ellicot, CO for longest keg stand at 4 minutes and 42 seconds. i have a medal and everything.

Wow! I didn't think that actual bears would care about the superbowl. Not to mention it is way to early to celebrate.
