Seriously...MASK was the best toy of the 80's. It was like a combination of GI-JOE and Transformers. Ironically, the worst vehicle of them all was the car the good guy leader (Matt Tracker) drove. The doors would pop open and serve as wings for his flying car??? WTF?? It just looked so cheezy compared to all the other cool vehicles they had.

Man, this is a thread to remind us of the good things from the 80's. Why did you have to bring up one of the worst things to come from that decade?
Um....I guess that's a matter of opinion. What's so bad about the Chicago bears having a 15-1 season, Superbowl trophy, "Refrigerator" Perry, one of the more unique football player nicknames, and a hit Rap Song? I bet you won't see the Bears repeating that anytime in the near future.
KetchBlaze
09-11-2004, 06:43 AM
And with any luck, we wont see anyone repeating such things. Yeah, the 15-1 record was impressive. Yeah, Fridge was mildly amusing, even tho he was nothing without Walter Peyton and as much as I hate to say it...Jim McMahon, but the rap song? Rap anything for that matter.
Ehh, that whole thing was about as annoying as the "Icky Shuffle".
File that under the mullet for things best left forgotten about the 80's

Well if it came down to it and some immortal, invincible, omniscient being asked me what to bring back from the 80's with the choices being the Superbowl Shuffle or the Greasy, oily, Michael Jackson styled perms, I'd choose the Superbowl Shuffle. And I guess it would seem said God-like being has listened to me.

The Garbage Pail Kids trading cards-- twisted version of Cabbage Patch Kids
I had Karateka and King's Quest for an original Apple computer
I remember the BattleStarr cartoon... his horse had a rifle named Mary Jane, and the dingo's always went into town trying to steal "Cactus Sweet Water"
Owned ALOT of TMNT action figures and toys
LOVED the cartoons caboose gang (moose was my favorite too), and Nintendo Kid (where he got sucked into whatever game he was playing, and he had a Nintendo game pad as a belt buckle)
Mario and Luigi's Fun Hour, Saturday Storybreak Special (Bob Keenan "Captain Kangaroo" was the host "The Monster's Ring" (squint one eye, recite a chant, and this kid turns into a monster), and "How to eat Fried Worms" were my favorite). Captain Planet and the Planeteers (I had a crush on the Russian babe, Linka)

I can safely say I have never seen them changed to HERO turtles. It's always been TMNT for what I saw too.
In Europe they were renamed the HERO turtles... everyone else got to keep the NINJA line.

They should reissue the Battle Beasts...but instead of stickers, have a little digital screen that would randomly cycle through the fire, wood, and water logos.
Once you know which beast had what symbol...the game wasn't very fun.

I was a big fan of ExoSquad, and I collected the figs last year (missed em when I was a kid) those things are so cool and so much fun
but I'd heard about some playsets, and saw em on ebay and got em
the ****ing things were quarter scale to the figures! the average exosquad figure (which are battle suits with GI Joe sized pilots) are about 6 inches tall. the miniture playsets, however, came with mini figs that were only 2 inches tall. rip off

I remember my cousin getting the yellow lion first (the metalic one of course) and telling me he was gonna get the whole collection.. only to see me get the who set on my bday.
I loved the detail of the lions seperately but after a while the parts used to get loose easily and arms and legs would detach in a second.
