Given that Luthor is standing with the JLA and the title, would I be right to assume its an adaption of Morrison and Quitely's 'Earth 2'?

If so, thats absolutely awesome.

It always pissed me off how the cover art promised something awesome but the interior art never delivered on it such as Superman #242 while I'm not dissing on Curt Swan who did the interiors it's Neal Adams cover that excites me more.

Yeah, this still happens to me. I'll see some awesome cover, flip inside and it's like "This is it...?"

It's "Your Favorite Superman Pics", not everyone elses. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't favorites of Young Superman. No, that would be like puting Peter Boyle's comedic satire of the Frankenstein Monster from Young Frankenstein next to Max Schreck's Nosferatu and Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera. Unlike George Reeves' Superman, Micheal Keaton's Batman and Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, Adam West's wacky dancing Batman was a comedic satire of the Batman character, not meant to be taken seriously.

have you watched reeve's superman or wonderwoman. hardly the serious show.

and adam west 's batman is actually pretty close how the comics were during that time. people tend to forget it. while the character was very dark on onset, the dark batman image we think of today is largely thanks to frank miller's DKR, BYO, and then followed by burton's batman.

and i think of reeve's superman is a better compliment to keaton's batman, not reeves.

have you watched reeve's superman or wonderwoman. hardly the serious show.

The Adventures of Superman and the New Adventures of Wonder Woman are serious shows with some comic relief. Jimmy Olsen provides comic relief on the Adventures of Superman and the robot named Rover is the comic relief on the New Adventures of Wonder Woman while George Reeves' Superman/Clark Kent and Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman/Diana were serious. Alexander Knox and the Joker provide comic relief on Batman, and Jen and Josh, the Ice Princess, Catwoman and the Penguin provide comic relief on Batman Returns while Michael Keaton's Batman/Bruce Wayne was serious.

and adam west 's batman is actually pretty close how the comics were during that time. people tend to forget it. while the character was very dark on onset, the dark batman image we think of today is largely thanks to frank miller's DKR, BYO, and then followed by burton's batman.Yes, the Batman comics became light and comedic in the '40s, '50s and '60s but that's because of the censorship by DC's Editorial Boards, not what Bill Finger and Bob Kane wanted Batman to be. Batman by creators Bill Finger and Bob Kane was a serious, very mysterious, terror striking creature of the night lurking in the shadows. That changed when DC editor Whitney Ellsworth created an Editorial Advisory Board in 1941 trying to make Batman as wholesome and tame as possible to protect DC from the growing criticisms of comic books in the 1940s and 1950s by Sterling North, Fredric Wertham, Greshon Legman, and the U.S. Senate which lead to the 1954 Comics Code Authority forcing comic book company's E.C., Gleason, Fox, Fiction House and Quality out of business.
Link that talks about the Editorial Advisory Board:
http://www.english.ufl.edu/imagetext/archives/exhibit1/dc.shtml
These book excerpts are from Comic Book Nation about the Editorial Advisory Board DC had:

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3098/batman1249510538books.png
And the effect on Batman:
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/4046/batman1249510850books.png
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7711/batman1249510914books00.png
Bob Kane said in his autobiography Batman & Me, "The editors placed increasing limitations on what Bill and I could do. We had our first brush with censorship over Batman's use of a gun in Batman #1. In one story in this issue he had a machine gun mounted on his plane and used it. Bill wrote that story; not I. It was his idea. It was inspired by the Shadow pulps in which the hero used two blazing forty-fives. We didn't think anything was wrong with Batman carrying a gun because the Shadow used guns. Bill was called on the carpet by Whit Ellsworth. He said, 'Never let Batman carry a gun again.' The editors thought making Batman a 'murderer' would taint his character and mothers would object. The new editorial policy was to get away from Batman's vigilantism and to bring him over to the side of the law. The whole moral climate changed after the 1940-1941 period when Batman #1 appeared; you couldn't kill or shoot villains anymore. In fact, the story resulted in DC preparing it's own comics code which every artist and writer had to follow. It forbade any whippings, hangings, or sexual references. Even the word 'flick' was forbidden because the lettering (all in block capitals) might run together."

and i think of reeve's superman is a better compliment to keaton's batman, not reeves.Micheal Keaton and George Reeves better compliment each other. George Reeves was 37 when The Adventures of Superman started and 44 when it ended. Michael Keaton was 37 in Batman and 40 in Batman Returns. Michael Keaton's Batman/Bruce Wayne is serious, and George Reeves' Superman/Clark Kent is serious, much more so than Chris Reeve's cartoonishly saintly perfect Superman and campy bumbling Clark Kent. Chris Reeve's Kent went beyond "mild mannered" status and straight into "bumbling". The result was that Chris Reeve's Clark Kent was LESS believable and serious, not more. Why would a bumbling idiot be a reporter on a major paper? Michael Keaton's Batman and George Reeves' Superman are closest to the versions by the creators. George Reeves had the slicked back hair and the bulky look like the original comic book Superman by Siegel and Shuster with a firm jaw and thick bull neck and the squinty eyes. Michael Keaton had the mysteriousness, darkness, and terror striking of Bob Kane and Bill Finger's original Batman. Bill Finger and Bob Kane's Batman killed and Michael Keaton's Batman killed and Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Superman inadvertently caused the deaths of crooks and George Reeves' Superman inadvertently causes the deaths of crooks in the episode "The Stollen Costume". Siegel and Shuster's Superman was not a perfect saintly boy scout, and neither was George Reeves' Superman. As Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Superman had limits to his powers, as did George Reeves' Superman. George Reeves' Superman was incredibly powerful, but not a SuperGod like Chris Reeve's. He certainly could not support the entire San Andreas Fault on his back and lift it back into place (as Chris Reeve did in Superman: The Movie). He couldn't turn back time to make everything all better by flying around and around the earth. He couldn't make Lois forget his secret identity by kissing her (as Chris Reeve did in Superman II). He couldn't make ten duplicates of himself. He couldn't make beams come out of his hands. Nor could he effortlessly lift a helicopter up with one hand. He could lift a helicopter, but he had to noticeably strain to do it. Yet such limitations in his powers created tension, and made his accomplishments much more exciting. Siegel & Shuster Clark Kent was a confident, aggressive reporter and George Reeves Clark Kent was confident, aggressive reporter, not a nervous bumbling idiot like Chris Reeve's Clark Kent. Whenever Chris Reeve puts on Kent's suit and glasses in the Superman movies he becomes a walking parody of a real person. His "clumsy buffoon" persona bears no resemblance to anyone in the real world. No one in his right mind would act like Chris Reeve's Clark Kent does in order to hide his identity as Superman. The sheer ludicrousness of his behavior would only serve to draw more attention to himself, and the fact that he is trying to hide something. Chris Reeve's Superman is the ultimate boy scout and his Clark Kent is extremely campy, which is in common with Adam West's Batman, and Cathy Lee Crosby's Wonder Woman.

If anything, Reeves' Supes should be better paired with Lewis Wilson's Batman of the 40s.

Lewis Wilson's Batman costume was pretty terrible, poorly fitting. His cowl was lumpy, his ears were crooked and his cape was way too short and his tights have a lot of noticeable creases. Very amateurish, especially compared to George Reeves' Superman, or Michael Keaton's Batman. And Michael Keaton's Batman and Batman Returns films have a retro 1940s/1950s look to them. Also George Reeves' Superman had four seasons of color episodes, while Lewis Wilson's Batman was only in black and white. Lewis Wilson's Batman of the '40s Serials is better paired with Kirk Alyn's Superman of the '40s Serials.

Someone is watching Superman on the fateful night Lois interviews him, recording his every move. Superman
http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/imgs/grey_loader.gif
has to race off to save people from a burning building using his freeze breath to extinguish the fire. Lois isn't giving up and races to quiz Superman some more for her interview. How'd he learn about his powers?

A daydreaming Superman wakes in the 31st Century during an early training session with Sun Boy, Brainiac 5, Lightning Lad, Bouncing Boy and Element Lad. The teens are trying to make Clark learn how to perfect his freeze breath while battling his team mates.
Suddenly Clark is back to Metropolis and one his first days at the Daily Planet. Lois and Clark are vying for Perry's praise, but both fall slightly short.
Lois isn't quite Pulitzer yet, her Superman article is deemed lazy and Clark still needs to prove himself as a hard hitting reporter. Perry sighs as news of a big story comes in. Lois' cousin Chloe Sullivan can't make it in time so Lois & Clark beg for the chance to cover Lex Luthor.
The two warring reporters discuss Superman and Lois' reveals Superman mentioned 'friends'. Could there be more superheroes like him somewhere? Perhaps from another dimension or the future? Clark laughs it off, but Lois points out it's no more ridiculous than a man fighting crime as a bat.
Again they are unaware of the outside force watching their every move, so the reporters rush to the press conference where a young Lex Luthor reveals his Lex-o-Skeleton 3000 a multipurpose armor capable of great deeds. The amazing armor is working perfectly demonstrating its feats of power when an outside force hacks into its mainframe turning it on the innocent crowd.
Lex watches in horror as the suit starts firing indiscriminately and Superman arrives to intervene. Superman growls at Lex to stop his attack and Lex yells it isn't his doing, promptly attacking the Man of Steel.
We jump back to the 31st century where Clark and Brainiac 5 discuss Lex Luthor. Superman questions Lex's legacy and his own. Brainiac 5 compromises his own calculations of time ripples and tells Clark to keep an eye on Lex.
We're back in modern day and Superman pins Lex to the ground, super-speedily shredding the armor like tissue paper.
Lex is quite displeased that Superman has ruined his billion dollar suit and made him look incompetent in front of the world press, vowing to find out more about this strange new visitor.
The strange viewer and instigator of the Lex-o-skeleton 3000 malfunction reveals himself to be Brainiac 1.0 watching from a hidden sanctum recording 'The Son of Krypton' Not The End...

Intergang has been providing Rupert Thorne with super criminals. Batman has gone to Metropolis to confront Bruno Mannheim. However, Mannheim calls the police, which forces Batman to use other means to bring down the villain. The Dark Knight must team up with Superman, and a new plan is set into motion. Clark Kent is captured by Intergang because of articles he has written in the Daily Planet. He manages to escape his bounds and use a sonic signal watch to contact Superman. Kent was really Batman in disguise. The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel battle Intergang to later discover that Mannheim has been outfitted with a cybernetic body like that of Metallo, complete with a Kryptonite heart. Batman removes the meteor from Mannheim's chest before he can attempt to kill the Metropolis Marvel.
