10-05-2004, 07:37 AM
Where do you live?
Can't you pick up comics there on a regular basis?

Carmine Falcone
10-05-2004, 09:23 AM
No. I live in Dordrecht. I pick up my comics at Stripwinkel Sjors. But they haven't got a big choice in Batman comics, so I have to order them online or go to conventions in Haarlem and Rijswijk. In which Comicshop do you buy your batman comics Cobblepot? The comics i would like to have are; Tales of the Demon, Haunted Knight, when In Rome(when it's out) Also i would like to have knightfall and perhaps No man's land. But if my amount of comics is growing as much as this year I will have alot of batman comics in a year of 5/8! :D :D :D

Skipper
10-05-2004, 09:32 AM
You got a nice collection there :)

Where is your HUSH Bats? And Mattel 6' bats?

Carmine Falcone
10-05-2004, 09:35 AM
Don't have them...........yet. :D

I've ordered the Hush bats and Joker, and i don't think it's neccesary to buy the Mattel bats, thank you.

Guyverjay
10-05-2004, 09:57 AM
You have Batman and Robin?:(

WHY?

Cobblepot
10-05-2004, 10:50 AM

I pick them up in Amsterdam sometimes in Rotterdam.
The Hague als has great Comic shops.
You want to pick up When in Rome as loose comics or as a tradepaperback?
Cause part one is already available in Holland.
Does Sjors also have comics, maybe they can order some 4 u?
The guy in Amsterdam (Gojoker) saves them up for me.
He can also send them at my home adress. But I always pick them up myself. I don't trust our postal service with them.
I collect the main Batman titles right now, monthly:
Batman
Detective Comics
Legends of the DK
Batman (that new animated series comicbook)
Gotham Knights
Sometimes I bring home:
Catwoman
Robin
Nightwing
And I collect the "big" mini series, like When In Rome.

No man's land is really cheap on Bol.com, just make sure you get the American editions and not the british by Titan Books.
O, and make sure u bag your comics. You can buy baggies from Ultra pro or Comic Defense in a lot of shops.

*and hey everyone check my "who's your favourite artist" poll, in the comics section*

Carmine Falcone
10-05-2004, 11:58 AM
I want to bu CWIR in TPB. Do you already have the first issue?

When the TPB is out I'll ask Sjors or they can order it.

And about NML; I've seen the first three volumes (TPB)really cheap on some site. just € 27,99 but I do not completly trust it.

Cobblepot
10-05-2004, 12:34 PM
Man that is way to expensive:

Check out this link.
Very cheap and u can trust them (http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/nl/-/EUR/BOL_ParametricSearch-Start;sid=dOEHYdCnGAsHYJHFuCI5VjB_ds1yBnIh2YY=)

Tabblad Engelse boeken, zoeken op No Man's Land. ;)

Carmine Falcone
10-05-2004, 12:54 PM
Well, on BOL.COM are the first 3 volumes together more then on the site I found them...but I don't trust that site really much...

Ik moet ff gaan, work out!

Carmine Falcone
10-05-2004, 01:20 PM

10-08-2004, 03:56 PM

Carmine Falcone
10-12-2004, 02:14 AM
I will.

SHADOWBAT69
10-12-2004, 09:40 AM
do you have any desire to get older issues? 70's or 60's? there are alot of good detective stories there. when you start a collection, especially with Batman, there is so much that is out there. is there any one thing you want to concentrate on? comics, figs, art, etc?

Carmine Falcone
10-12-2004, 09:49 AM
NAh, I don't have any desire to get into old comics. I just stick to the regular/cool ones and some more I can find. I want to concentrate on the comics mostly, but I wouldn't say no to a nice poster of B89 Br or BB :D

SHADOWBAT69
10-12-2004, 10:00 AM
i'm curious, why?

when i started i didn't do the older books either. but once i checked them out, i couldn't stop. lol

the reason i'm asking questions is because i started a collection thread awhile back. but it kinda became "my thread". i wanted to know about others collections as well.

Carmine Falcone
10-12-2004, 10:06 AM
I don't like the old campy comics, I like stick to the ones in wich Batman is a dark, bittered character who uses rough methods to get information from criminals etc.

SHADOWBAT69
10-12-2004, 10:10 AM
ah, see, thats what the LATE 60's and 70's books are. when Neal Adams took over, that changed it all. i think one of my favorite lines in those comics was when Bruce said to Alfred , "never in the daytime, Alfred."

Carmine Falcone
10-12-2004, 10:18 AM
cool..
How is Tales of the Demon, how good is it??

SHADOWBAT69
10-12-2004, 12:06 PM
the Ra's al Ghul stories are very good. it reprints some of the Neal Adams books. i have the individual issues. you'll also see some of the influence these stories had on TAS Ra's episodes.

Cobblepot
10-12-2004, 12:55 PM
U should aslo pick up: The Demon Awakes.
It is a must 4 Ra's fans.

michael jordan
10-12-2004, 05:07 PM
cool..
How is Tales of the Demon, how good is it??
I already told you Carmine, lol. It is descent, the only good ones are the Adams stories in it, the rest are cheesy and flamboyant. I hate seeing Batman out of his element in like a snow outfit and skiing, it is just goofy.

Cobblepot
10-16-2004, 05:13 AM
What did Micheal do to get banned?

Carmine Falcone
10-16-2004, 11:52 AM

BTW: I just recieved the Batman and the Joker from the HUSH figure line! Fantastic figures! (God bless HENK ;))

Cobblepot
10-16-2004, 11:57 AM
what did you pay for them!
That Batman Rules!

Carmine Falcone
10-16-2004, 12:33 PM
Batman: € 24,99
Joker: € 21,99

+ € 5,00 verzendkosten

= € 51, 98

And yes it rules! :up::up:

Cobblepot
10-16-2004, 01:32 PM

Yendor and Dick Boss is selling bags and backerboards, make sure you get the right sizes
DV & TLH and those magazines are a little bigger than the average comics.

THE HARDCOVER YEAR ONE LOOKS GREAT! I LOVE THE COLOURING AND THE SKETCHES! damn good. only € 20,-
I also bought a Sin City TPB and some european comics on Stripfestijn op het Scheffersplein.

I haven't seen Batman Begins toys yet, but Dordrecht will get a new moviestore (Acme's movie store) which has ALOT of movie merchandise and replicas, but that doesn't matter because I don't like the BB figures...they look cheap IMO. I will buy some sin city action figures there though.

I hope that the boxes from TAS will be released in Holland. So I'll wait for that.

The reaper made his first appearance in Year Two.

Nice collection.
You should use the "macro" mode to get nice pics when shooting objects very close to the camera, most digital camera have it. And to put the camera over some surface to let it perfectly still will help too. The focus will be better.

Yeah, The Penguin figure is great. I actually think its really underrated, as a lot of people say they don't like it. I don't know why. It's certainly the best Penguin figure I've ever seen.

Thanks for the Macro tip, batmaluco. It seems to have worked pretty well. So well in fact you can see how ridiculously dusty that surface is - needs a clean methinks. Here is my new and improved collection:

The Joker bust is new.I just got him last week.He cost me 100 euro. But he's worth every cent. These pics cannot do him justice. He's simply awesome.Magnificent detail on him.

And here are my figures:

Nice collection, why don't you start your own thread?
I'm waiting for my Tim Sale figures to arrive, I'll have them next week.
How's your Batman's ears, are they okay?

Joker

My collection is nowhere near big enough to warrant it's own thread. What you see there is all I have.Oh I also have a Penguin figure I just got. It's the same one as in Keyser Soze's pic, from the Secret Files series.

But I do have ALOT of Batman comics and TPB's ;)

That Joker was a kit or not?
It looks great.

Joker
02-02-2006, 02:09 PM
The Joker was a kit,but I didn't paint him.The comic store people did that. They had him on dislay in the window.I spotted him as I was leaving. And I simply had to have him. He's just beautiful.

They do alot of kits. You can buy them yourself. But I'm no artist,I'd make a mess of the painting. So I bought the finished product.

Thanks for the compliments guys :)

So your a Joker fan and a Dock Ock fan, that's a weird combo.
How'ed that happened?

Joker
02-02-2006, 04:18 PM
LOL! And what Batman villain would be a good combo to go with Ock?? ;)

I don't know, why does anyone come to love a villain?? Something just clicks with you.Joker, like Doc Ock,has got style. He is great at what he does. They are both very intelligent, though Octavius is more intelligent than Joker.

I love Joker for his insanity, and the villainous comedic flare he has.He thinks Gotham is his stage to perform. And Batman is his to kill.As villains go,Joker not only threatens all of Gotham, but also the Batman too. He's the best kind of villain. He's not just personal with Batman.

I love Doc Ock for his classiness, ruthlessness and egotistical personality. He is by far Spider-Man's deadliest arch enemy IMO.The Green Goblin is all about being personal with Spider-Man.But Ock does it big.He threatens not just Spider-Man,but everybody.Millions of innocents. Also like the Joker,Ock wants to be the one to kill Spider-Man in a grand and glorious fashion.

My love for Doc Ock is greater than my love for The Joker. But not by much ;) Both great villains.Different in many ways, but also similar in others.

I don't like the sculpting that much.
The promo pic looked good but when you get close it isn't that impressive. Not as impressive as Two Face or The Joker for instance. those are the standouts so I got them first.

What figure do think is the best on your shelf?

Carmine Falcone
02-10-2006, 05:51 AM
My favorite is Two-Face.
close second is Hellboy.

The sculpting and details on both are ridicously good. (As is the paint.)
