If Marvel put out an all woman team( no men allowed) who would you want to see on it?The following is my idea of a Kicka$$ team!

Mystique- Leader
Psylocke-(anything is possible)
She -Hulk- powerhouse
Warbird
Lady Deathstrike
Firestar
Emma Frost
Jean Grey

How you like them apples?

It could be done, but you'd need a real good reason why they'd need a super team of all female characters. Why just women and no men? Some sort of logic behind it.

Didn't Marvel have the ever-timely Liberators back in the early 70's, a super-team of women just in time for the women's rights movements of the day? I seem to remember them being at odds with the Avengers or Defenders or somebody.

How many all male teams are there?

Should the Sinister Six of had a female member?

If they tried to do it Like DC's Birds of Prey, it could work. Have some sort of cordinator to manage the team. Guy or girl, doesn't matter. But I would go with Four. Nice even number.

Lets see: Wasp
She-Hulk
Warbird
Tigra

Well, I can't pick without knowing what their purpose would be for joining together. What's their main fuction (Besides selling like any comic book is). Are they an all female team sanctioned by the government? Are they brought together for one particular foe? is it mostly a team gathered together for social reasons?

That, more than just being 'of women' would affect how I picked the membership.

Yeah, I understand. Like, for example, if it was a SHIELD-sanctioned espionage team, I could see it just being Black Widow, Mystique, and Elektra or something.

For a raison de`etate, how about the one from "The Ambushers?" I did not read Donald Hamilton's book, but the 1967 film used female pilots for a UFO because male pilots died immediately after activating its power supply.
Also, the Liberators turned into a disaster after their leader, Valkyrie, turned out to be a shill for the Enchantress. Once the other team members found out, they fell apart.

Let's say as a raison d' etre that Marvel really wants a version of Birds of Prey. With that in mind:

Elektra
Black Cat
She-Hulk
Kitty Pryde

With, oh, say... White Queen as the chick running the show, and whatever excuse is necessary to throw Mystique in there every four or five issues.

I figure, decent mix of personalitites, not too heavy on the mutants, and nobody who's obscenely overpowered.

Well, to make a successful comic like Birds of Prey from DC, you kind of need to have some females with some things in common, who all WANT to be part of a 'girls' club" of crimefighters. DC has more female heroes, by far, than Marvel, which makes this more difficult. Making it more difficult is the fact that many of the characters listed here by others have NOTHING in common. Many people here seem to have simply listed popular female characters that they like and thrown them together - kind of like Bendis seems to have done to create the new Avengers title. I can't see things working well when following a formula like this. Can you really see She-Hulk and Elektra on a team? I can't.

Someone mentioned that the purpose of the team would play a big factor in it's make-up, which is true as well. For example, if you wanted a team of commando-type gals, you'd throw out names like Black Widow, Mystique, Silver Sable, Domino, and Sabre. If you wanted a more light-hearted team with humor and fun, you'd throw out names like She-Hulk, Black Cat, and Jubilee.

It's really hard to pick a roster without also conceiving some sort of purpose or reason for the team's existence. In the currect mainstream Marvel universe, I can think of very few female characters who might even want to be on a team like this. Some that may include:

Firestar
Darkstar
Namorita
Turbo
Magma
Shadowcat
Meteorite
Silver Sable

But I don't know why any of these would be drawn together around a common cause or all be in the right place at the right time. At least with Birds of Prey, you have a team of girls that all have connections to the Batman family of books.

I can't believe no one listed Storm as the leader of an all-woman team.

I really don't see Storm as being a terribly effective leader outside of the X-Men. She's a good leader with the X-Men not because of her tactical skill, but because she cares about them. They're her family and her friends. I don't think she'd have much leadership skill outside of the X-Men.

As for an all-female team, I can see Wasp forming one, and making it up of former Avengers.

well good idea but you can use new characters to spice it up or throw some new and old together but if it's all old then:-

storm-leader (good leadership skills and great power)
she hulk- the muscle (need some strength and well who better)
shadowcat- got the technical skills and brings a touch of youth (also just brings her back to the comics yay)
black widow- the dark one (keeps more experience and adds the human touch plus she's cool)
spider-girl- the vigilante (everybody seems to love spiderman so would bring popularity plus it gets rid of this insatiable need to have female psychics everywhere and just fills in the space as the character isn't as old {writing wise} as the others)

cheki
Powers: As the son of Odin and Gaea, Thor's/Valkyrie's strength, endurance and resistance to injury are greater than the vast majority of his/her superhuman race. He/she is extremely long-lived (though not completely immune to aging), immune to conventional disease, and highly resistant to injury. His/her flesh and bones are several times denser than a human's. As Lord of Asgard, Thor/Valkyrie possesses the Odinforce, which enables him/her to tap into the near-infinite resources of cosmic and mystical, enhancing all of his abilities. With the vast magical power of the Odinforce.
Abilities: Valkyrie is trained in the arts of war, being a superbly skilled warrior, highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat, swordswoman ship.
Strength level: After being given a physical form, the Valkyrie was a proficient fighter with a sword and a superb hand to hand combatant. She possibly had enhanced strength (enhanced superhuman-class 100), and still exercised complete and total control over Thor.

Valkyrie or Brunhilde is a class 45 heroine with a magic sword.

Putting here and Thor as eithr or is wholly inaccurate.

Hmm... an all female team of super-heroes...

"C'mon Jan, cheer up," Jennifer encouraged.

Janet VanDyne stirred her drink apathetically. She really didn't want to be out tonight. She had called Hank today and Firebird had answered the phone. While they were taken by the Stranger she saw a connection between them but she never expected... "I guess somethings are built to last," Jan sighed.

"You were divorced," Jennifer reminded her. She herself was going through a divorce, though a more disturbing one than she would like to admit... her husband was a star-god.

"I know," Jan sighed again. "It's just... I always expected to be the one to get over it first."

"Get your hands off me creep!" came a voice from the crowd.

"That isn't good," Jan said as she turned around. there in the crowd was Carl "Absorbing Man" Creel harrassing a familiar looking brunette. What made things worse was Jan had alread spotted Tiger Shark and Sandman in the crowd as well. "Jen, don't go near Creel, leave him to me. you handle Tiger Shark."

"Okay," the Emerald Amazon agreed as she rolled up her sleeves. "But what about Marko?"

"I said Back off!" shouted the woman again, this time she caught Creel off guard with a punch across the chops, knocking him backwards into his two companions. Jessica Jones didn't like being touched unless she invited it. This was her first time out on the town in months. Luke was at home with their daughter. He had practically insisted she take a night out to be a woman again, rather than a mother. She knew there was a reason she'd agreed to marry that man.

"Oh this is gonna be more fun than I thought," Creel said as he righted himself. he smiled, obviously having absorbed the strength of her from the punch. He lunged at Jessica, who suddenly realized how outclassed she was against Absorbing man. Then suddenly she wasn't there. She was across the room. she turned when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Sorry," said a girl in punkish-gothic apparel. "thought you needed an assist."

"Got that right," Jessica said. "I'm Jessica,"

"Cassie," returned the Goth.

"Help me get these people out of here," she suggested.

Janet delivered a number of stings all across Creel's face. she was shrunk down, luckily she'd remembered to wear a set of her unstable molecule under garments. they weren't fashionable, but they at least kept her from being naked.

She-Hulk was plowing into TigerShark full bore. He didn't even have a chance to get a shot or two in before she had him nearly laid-out. that was when she was blasted sideways by the Sandman. Jennifer spat the grit out and got up, only to be sand-blasted all over again.

"Now this is why I'm glad I partnered with Spider for so long," came a voice. they turned to see a platinum blonde in a leather catsuit standing calmly by the wall. "I learned out to deal with peices of crap like you."

"you'd best shut up Kitty-Cat!" Flint Marko roared. he charged her, but that was when Felicia "Black Cat" Hardy twisted the wheel on the water main and opened it up. Marko faltered for a second, but composed himself. "You... you're just slowing me down, you ain't got me down for the count!" he yelled.

"But maybe I do," said a young woman with silver hair. she opened her mouth and a sonic scream bombarded him dissapaiting his soddened form across the room.

Tiger Shark had collected his senses in the little time that Sandman had bought him and was back on his feet dishing it out to She-Hulk as good has he had recieved.

"You got the E-Vac?" Jessica asked Cassie.

"I can teleport like this all night," she said confidantly.

Jessica nodded and did one of the few things she kept meaning to never do again. she hovered off the floor and took off to help a fellow super-hero. She couldn't help but recall this was how she met the man that was now her husband... she really had to stop doing this.

She caught Tiger Shark off balance and knocked him into the floor. Jennifer took over, with Jessica helping.

with the small club evacuated, Cassie telported back indoors to see that Jan might be evading him but she was tiring and Creel wasn't. She teleported over to in front of Absorbing Man and said "Catch me if you can," before she teleported a few yards away.

"Get back here!" he yelled. as he swung at the darkly dressed woman.

after a few more teleports Creel was lured into position and blasted by another sonic blast from the silver haired woman.

with the last of their opponents on the ground the women gathered together and looked at each other. Jennifer broke the silence as she nursed her ribs, "Who needs men?"

the others started chuckling. "You know," Jessica said, "this was an all girl team up, and not one of us had to be slutty to take them down... well... sluttier than normal," she said nodding to the Black Cat.

Felicia gave a friendly flip of the bird at the Wasp.

"Who are you two, by the way?" asked Jan to the Cassie and the girl with the sonic scream.

"Cassie St. Commons," replied the Goth. "I go to ESU... I used be a hero... my name was Dusk."

"Motormouth," replied the Sliver haired girl. "Passing through on a break-up bender and thought I'd help out."

"Break-up Bender?" asked Jan, feeling sympathy for the girl.

"I teach the guy about friggin' morals and how to, you know, THINK and he finds some bimbo on a planet of amazons and says he's in love!"

"Men," they said in unison, only to burst into giggles upon hearing their syncronization.

Spider-Man and Iron Man had arrived at just that moment. Peter leaned over to Tony, "I think I'm afraid," he said with a shudder.

"We were pretty good out there together," Janet said to the girls as they walked past Tony and Peter, leaving clean up for the boys to handle. "We'd make a pretty good team."

"I am retired," Jessica emphasized.

"That's okay, but you don't have to be on the street kicking ass... every team needs someone looking stuff up. Last I heard you were pretty well connected as far as information goes."

"What the hell," Motormouth shrugged. "Might be interesting."

"I could use some Female-empowerment," Jennifer said. "Working for SHEILD the femal I saw the most was an LMD called 'Agent Cheesecake'... she looked about as you would expect."

"You're serious?" Cassie asked. she nodded to herself, "Hells yeah I'm in."

"Well, I'm doing some freelance for Misty Knight a lot, but I'll give you my pager for if you need me." Felicia looked off and decided to hail a cab. "If I get home soon I might find somethin' waitin' for me. Later girls."

Or for a Plan B, there's always...

1) Squirrel Girl
2) the White Rabbit
3) the Black Cat

(sticking with the cute-fuzzy-mammal theme :D)

SQ would be the "Straight Man" With White Rabbit ,... With Black Cat Being The disgruntled leader since running with women is definetly not her thing,...
(Back in the day she was sleeping with other heros after rejecting Spiderman,...)

They would get into trouble constantly, (Most times the white rabbits fault.)

And in the Begining they get bailed out by the rest of the MU - then in the span of maybe 10 issue or so their querky MODIS OPERANDI will start to Jell and they become to the NEW Heroes for HIRE,.. what the old Nightwing Restorations used to.

Just out of curiosity which are ungodly powerful and which are just there?

Enchantress is a god and in addition to being able to disable pretty much any guy with just her looks she also has Asgardian strength, fighting skills and magic.

Sue Storm has been called the most powerfull member of the FF many times and Malice is her dark evil and unrestrainted side.

Dark Phoenix many believe is the most powerfull mutant in the Marvel universe

Mystique isn't that powerfull over all but a shape shifter with excellent fighting skills can always come in handy.

White Queen is an extremley powerfull telepath.

I can't picture anybody on that team just kind of being there!

OH!! Malice.

Okay, so the dead weight is Mystique and Emma.

Mystique is good for espionage and such, but nothing the others couldn't do easily.

And Emma is nowhere near the Phoenix's level. Phoenix could commit to Emma's greater feats with absolute ease.

Yeah, but Emma walks around in a white leather corset and not much else. That would have almost the same effect on men as the Enchantress has. Emma is plenty powerfull as a telepath as well. Sure she seems weak next to Phoenix but how many others can make her look weak?

As for Mystique, being the weakest member of the team doesn't make you useless. The Avengers always had somebody like Thor on the roster but that never stopped them from having Captian America types on the team as well.

"So you just connect these two wires here," Motormouth said. "And... ITS ALIVE! ITS ALIVE!"

"Melodrama much?" asked Cassie as she walked past. she sat at the counter. in all the setting up of the new headquarters for the team, there wasn't much for her to do. Jen and Jessica had super strength and were handling carrying heavy stuff... and light stuff... and when they felt playful other teammates. Jan and Motormouth were hooking up the tech bits. Jan was also handling the decor. Cassie felt a bit superfluous.

"So, do we have a name yet?" asked Motormouth as she pulled herself up from the floor. she grabbed a cloth and wiped the grease from her face. She was rather enjoying this world. it was a nice break from the universe-hopping. she was on a team now and hopefully she could find a guy... that wouldn't dump her for some bimbo-amazon... She took a breath. that wasn't what this was about. "You know a team name?"

"Actually when I went to SHIELD," Jen replied. "They assigned us 'The All-Winners Squad.'"

"Lame," Jessica replied.

"Unchallenged," agreed Cassie.

"I agree girls," Jen replied, "But we wanted to stay in the City and if we do, they get to name us... it was that or Fem-Azonians"

"You know," Jan smiled, "Suddenly 'All-Winners Squad' doesn't sound so bad."

"Not sure I count," Cassie said quietly.

"Why's that?" asked Jessica, setting down a box.

"Oh... well... the team I was on, we didn't even have a name..." Cassie stammered out. "We... we were just bunch of... of slingers... We had to break up a couple of weeks after we started... and hell, I died on my first mission... and then we just had to totally cave to Mephisto."

"Wait, wait, wait," Janet said. "You fought Mephisto?"

"You died?" Jennifer asked.

"You were on a team?" asked Motormouth. "Any guys?"

Cassie looked around at them. "Yes I was on a team, yeah I died... possibly still am dead, never did find out for sure, and I know a couple of guys... one died for real, one moved to L.A. and the last guy is a real prick I wouldn't set up my enemies with." she fidgeted. "We bombed the whole hero thing," she replied.

"If you faced Mephisto and came out alive," Janet said shaking her head. "You must have done something right."

"So, if you don't know about your status on life and death, then you probably don't know about how your powers work." Jen was thoughtful as she brought this up.

"Guilty," Cassie yeilded.

"There are a number of professionals who specialize in meta-medicine," Jen said. "I bet... yeah, we should take you to see the Night Nurse, she could probably find out whats up with you."

"Um... okay, but can we get off me," Cassie said, distinctly uncomfortable. "What about her," she pointed at Motormouth. "We don't even know her real name."

"Harley Davidson," she replied easily.

there was a stunned silence around the crowd. they were all waiting for her to let them know it was a joke.

"No, really," she affirmed. "My name is Harley Davidson."

"I've heard worse names," Jennifer thought aloud.

Actually an all female team that was like the New Avengers would be more like this:

Wolverine
Spider-man
Thing
Human Torch
Hulk
Daredevil
Cyclops

Note that none of them are actually women so no one could possibly recognize it as an all female team. The only give away would be that the title would be "Female Heroes"
