THREE AND COUNTING: With a mid-June start date in Toronto scheduled, it's still unclear just which members of the original Baker family will be on hand to join father and mother - Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt - and eldest sister, Piper Perabo, in "Cheaper by the Dozen 2."
Hilary Duff, who didn't really have much to do in the original, but did make an impression, is currently making "Material Girls" with sister Haylie for Martha Coolidge, and after that, has several more of her own vehicles in the pipeline. She is doubtful for a return.
Tom Welling - who has been juggling "Smallville" acting chores with his work on the big-screen remake of "The Fog" - could do it, but will he?
Juvenile actors Kevin Schmidt and Forrest Landis are reportedly coming back for the feature that will involve the Bakers on vacation, competing against a rival supersized family.

A mid-June start? That would be tough for Tom to swing....
They've started mid-July usually for Smallville, right? So, he'd have maybe a month or three weeks to get his scenes in.
He'd probably jump at the chance if it's possible to fit it in his schedule given how much he enjoyed doing the first one.
hmmm they are filming in Canada so if his part isn't too large......When does The Fog wrap anyone know?

Its not like it's really close. Toronto and Vancouver are the equivelant distance from one another that BUffalo is from Seattle. I'd assume the only way he could do it is after the Fog wraps.
Would he even really want to do it regardless?

It's set to wrap in May, but the exact date wasn't published I don't think.
And Vancouver isn't close at all to Toronto, as Hulk pointed out.
So, he couldn't overlap Smallville and CBTD 2 really....

So, he couldn't overlap Smallville and CBTD 2 really....I doubt he'd have to, the shoot for CbtD in 2003 was only about six weeks long. I don't expect this one will be much dfferent. He'd have a month between the start of shooting for CbtD2 and the start of shooting for SV, which is plenty of time to film a role of the scope his was in the first movie.

I kind of hope he does it. :ducking: :)
I know it wasn't exactly an art house film.. but I thought it was a cute family movie.. and my jaded kids even liked it. It certainly gives him a whole different exposure than a film like "The Fog" will give him.. and a broad fan base is only a good thing.
I'm also being selfish because I love Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. I know Tom has said how much he likes SM too, so I'm hopeful he'll be able to do it.
One thing though.. I dearly hope they make him college-aged at least and not a high school student again.

If he does do it, I just hope the script is better and his character actually gets some kind of arc that actually is shown onscreen.
I will probably see it in any case, the kids loved the first one although I didn't like it much.
If Tom is in it, I will see it in the theatres at least once.

I agree it was fun to watch with my kids they just giggled and giggled. I also agree it would be good for his career. I just can't see him turning it down if it is at all feasible his reasons for taking it in the first place were personal and the director really liked him also. Plus any exposure for their star is also good for Smallville so everyone wins. Sorry about my geography guys.

Here's something that just goes to show how broad SV's revenue stream actually is. People who argue SV is nothing in the grand scheme of things (usually in context with the upcoming Superman film) need to look outside the Nielsen box, literally and figuratively...
Excerpt:
A Upoc.com text-messaging group for the TV show "Smallville" ballooned into a network several thousand strong, says David Friedensohn, CEO of Upoc Networks. In response, The WB network, which broadcasts "Smallville," created a text-based contest in which one viewer would win a cameo on the show.
"That little campaign generated 10 million text messages," Friedensohn says, adding that his company made "a little teeny tiny piece of money" on each text sent to the contest.

You seriously think that any one in their right mind would think Peterson is better looking than Welling?
Peterson is attractive, but handsome? No way. I can think of a dozen men in Peterson's age range that are tons better looking than him as well.
It's not just his age, I'm hardly a teen myself.

I think alot of people are under the impression that he is actually a teenager. I had to explain to a friend that he wasn't 16 I didn't want her to think I was a perv. Plus I think it's hard for women to imagine theirselves with someone who looks like that it's intimidating. I think it's nice he's second.

But any project involving pictures of Tom gives me a nice warm and fuzzy and puts a smile on my face.Heh, you really might be disappointed. ;) It's not a project, it's just me being typical of me. Which could mean any number of things, actually....
Anyway, I'm here because I stumbled across something interesting. CbtD2 will have a production schedule lasting from June 13 to September 2, which is both longer than the first one had AND longer than I expected.
The first had a production schedule from early April (technically it was march 31st, but one day is unimportant to moi) through early June, with a roughly 45 day shooting schedule. My best guess is that CbtD2 will have a shooting schedule of about 60 days, and all but a couple of weeks of that would directly conflict with Smallville.

Is it impossible? Might the Smallville people give a bit. If they want to go for more years than the contract wouldn't it be smart to make their star happy (if he really wants to do it) I still think it's good for him career wise even if it is a small role. This thing could turn out to be sometype of franchise if the seguel does as well as the first.

Not necessarily....
I mean, it depends how badly they want him and how creative the production manager is.
Say Tom has about a three or four week window to shoot his scenes from CBTD 2, so even though the film is shooting for more than two months, the production manager (I believe that's who lays out the shoot sked) arranges Tom's scenes to all be shot in a row during when he can be available.
Films are rarely shot in sequence, so even if Tom is mainly in the first and last parts of the movie (like he was last time) there's no reason his scenes couldn't be arranged so that they are shot consecutively.
The same could be said of Hilary Duff. She's busy, apparently, but if they want her they could probably make it work.
Logistically it'll probably be a nightmare, however.

More Smallville Season Four DVD Info!
The complete fourth season DVD set of Smallville is due for release in the United States on September 13, 2005. We'll let you know when it's available to pre-order on Amazon and such sites; at the moment, it hasn't been listed yet.
Extras previously revealed here at KryptonSite and on other sources include a Lois Lane retrospective including interviews with actors Noel Neill, Dana Delany, Margot Kidder, and Erica Durance; and commentary on the episode "Spell" with Erica Durance, Kristin Kreuk, and Allison Mack with director Jeannot Szwarc.
We have now learned some details on two other commentary tracks.
"Crusade" features actress Annette O'Toole (Martha Kent) with executive producers Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Ken Horton. Commentary on "Transference" comes from actor John Glover, and he too is joined by Al, Miles, and Ken Horton.
The first three seasons have been released already. Click on any of the links below to order them!

I was reading in entertainment weekly that Ray Romano after every episode gets online to listen to people pick it apart. That he has done that all the years his show has been on. It's kinda funny really it's the first mention I've heard of a TV star that does that.NOt that I think Tom does but I've always wondered about the guest stars and others. His eyes are astonishing in that photo...Agent Pat, you really honor this man with your gorgeous pictures. I know I appreciate your efforts. He is simply perfection! :)Oh, thanks bunches, Chel! But honestly, Tom makes it easy. Every time I see various screen captures of him, I'm reminded of just how perfect a casting choice he was for Clark. I know it's easy to get used to a particular performance with repeated viewings, but I don't know any other actor who can elicit the kind of sympathetic pathos Welling can with just a glance - and then be able to turn on a dime and be strong and commanding when necessary. He really does have that one-in-a-million look.
On a somewhat on-topic, but unrelated note, I read a thread this morning on Usenet that had me reevaluating some recent decisions LOL. Some folks here know I live in Boston. Well, technically, I live about 10 miles north of Boston. My hubby had recently got a job offer to work down on Martha's Vineyard. It was a BIG offer - one of those you really should THINK about this before saying no type offers. But we'd have to live there (it's a requirement for the particular job.) Now, the Vineyard is a beautiful place. In the summer. But it has its drawbacks too. It's an island for one, and getting your car on and off is one helluva kick in the teeth. There's no bridges, so you have to rely on ferries - most of which are booked up for sometimes a YEAR in advance. Most islanders have to have two vehicles because of this - one that stays on the island, and one that stays on the mainland....
Anyhoo... I digress. Point is, we basically turned the offer down because the drawbacks outweighed the benefits - one of which was a VERY nice salary. Then I read the thread I've excerpted below. Hee! I'm not gonna be telling my hubby 'bout this, but secretly I've been screaming schitt! schitt! schitt! ALL morning LMAO!! ;)
Again, this is an excerpt. I haven't changed the content, but there were other parts that I intentionally left off, but the entire thread can be read HERE (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/HPFFDG/browse_thread/thread/179a740b6ad211f6/) for those who are interested. All of the parts specific to Tom are here though...
...Speaking of Tom Welling - I have met him a couple of times... he is VERY QUIET! More so than I would have expected... And he doesn't look that tall? But then again, I was working and he came into work out and later have dinner....
Oh well...

( ^ I'm still LMAO over that post)
Tom Welling went to school with the younger brother of some boys I went to school with... His wife is from a town just across the channel... Weird, isn't it? Because he is Canadian... Anyway... He got married on the Vineyard and he comes down all the time. The inn were I work has a health club attached and he works out when he is in town. Strider - I promise that next time he comes in, I will SAVE the towel he uses and I will FED-Ex it to you!
Sancy
is HE nice? If he's not, will you lie to me, so that I can still like him?
Strider
Hey Strider,
Actually, he was very lovely. But very quiet. He takes the term taciturn to a whole 'nother level. I can imagine that he wanted to lay low - but where I live, there are so many persons around, no one would care. Hell, I have even gone toe-to-toe with Harvey Weinstein! And, YES - his lips are NATURALLY as red as they look on the show!

Some more tid-bits on The Fog...
Sci Fi Wire caught up with Tom Welling, star of upcoming horror remake "The Fog", and he spilled the beans on the movie. Firstly he said that this new version of the movie was set to be "more modern", with characters who originally featured in the movie at a mature age, now being played by actors half their age. He also told the site about the new fog effects we will see in the movie, for a sequence involving a truck:
"We did a sequence where we're in the truck, and this cloud of fog is coming toward us, and literally the first time I saw this I was like, 'They've got some well-trained fog,' because this thing came around the house, came at us, and then all of a sudden I heard this thump and these three guys stood up with these lights on their chest and fog machines. They're inside the fog, so they can't see. So they're just taking their steps, and they ran right into the truck."

I'd just say what a big fan I am and what a pleasure it is to meet him.Exactly. It really depends on the appropriateness of the situation. Bumping into a celebrity on the street or a restaurant is a completely different circumstance than say a press junket interview set up to promote a show or film. I'd basically play it by ear. I'm not even sure I'd have the ballz to say anything at all. I also get the feeling he's the type of actor that just wants to be left alone, and I wouldn't want to infringe on that space.
There was that fan encounter described by the security woman at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. She did her job - eyeballed his identification like anybody else and moved onto the next tourist. It would have been out of place for her to say *anything* to him beyond the responsibilities of her job. I commend her for that. Doesn't mean she wasn't allowed to have weak knees in the process though - a reaction I most likely would also have had in her place. LOL

True... if I were working or something, like the security woman in Paris, or I just saw him on the street I probably wouldn't say anything at all. I'd try to respect his privacy...
If I met him socially, like at a party or something, or if a mutual acquantaince introduced us then I'd say the above.

I think that it's like any other situation, you have to be courteous and considerate of the situation. Obviously, I'd never interrupt anyone having dinner or who was clearly otherwise occupied. If I saw a celeb I admire just walking down the street or in another casual situation, I'd have no problem going up and letting them know I'm an admirer of their work. If it was Tom then I'd walk away gracefully, go around the corner, and throw-up. ;):D
I did meet Roger Daltrey once at a con.. I tried to shake his hand and he grabbed me and gave me a big bear hug. Fortunately, my friends were smart enough to take pics. I also walked by Eric Clapton while I was shopping downtown Chicago one day.. I didn't want to say anything to him though, he was with friends. When I met Trent Reznor (who I was a BIG fan of) I wasn't intimidated at all for some reason. Up close they all put their pants on one leg at a time. ;)

I did meet Tom at Rite Aid once, and he seemed fine with being approached..my friend approached him and I tagged along (I had no idea who he was, and I was still awestruck by his beauty) He chatted sweetly, and even asked me a question. Basically, celebrities are like anyone else--sometimes we're in the mood and sometimes we're not. I guess you can gauge the situation and say something simple and safe and let him take it from there.
But bothering people while they;re eating, working out, or god forbid in a bathroom is a big no-no to me. I tend to leave people alone if they're with their significant other too.

LOL, sorry. I was living in Los Angeles at the time, I moved a year ago..the Rite Aid in question is at the corner of Fairfax and Sunset. Um..well..as far as what he said.. I don't remember that much of what my friend and him talked about. She did some work for the WB, so she was talking to him about that. I unfortunately was staring at his eyes, trying to decide what color they were (all of them I eventually decided, with blue and green being dominant, as we all know:D) Anyway, because I was being oh so polite and staring at the poor man like an idiot. He smiled, looking a little amused and asked me if I watched the show. I decided to be honest, and said "No, I don't..but I will now!"..yeah I said that, lol. He laughed a little and I swear he blushed. My friend confirmed he did as well, so lets say he did:) This was in 2003, in April or May, I can't remember, probably May. So he was probably about to, or had started CBTD.
Anyway, so thats my exciting story, I just wish I had known who he was so I would have paid closer attention, but damn I was too busy thinking he was probably the most attractive man I'd ever seen.
And I didn't keep my promise...I only started watching after seeing the premiere of season 3, by accident at the Grove in LA, while shopping--on a huge screen--Tom in Exile on a big screen, I had no chance, lol. Then I was hooked:)

Wow... your story rocks!!! Nothing like getting an invitation to watch the show from the man himself. See WB. You have no one else to blame for your slacking ratings but yourselves. Just put Tom in the aisle at the grocery store. People will take a sample and come back for more. :D

I'll go with Pat's answer.. Literally, uh.. no, but fictionally I've read my share of hot vamp books. In fact there's a character in a series I've read that happens to be a vamp that I think Tom would be perfectly cast as.

Yep, I totally agree.
I started watching only because of my sister said I should (it's a show about Superman after all) but I stayed watching because of Tom.
I've even converted a few people with my reviews too. Oddly enough. I really don't think my thoughts are all that profound, just Smallville geeky, but some of my writer friends have begun to watch the show.
I recommended they watch the Pilot tonight on ABC Family to see why I fell in love with the show.
Gawd, but the Pilot is some great TV.
One guy who's very esoteric in his tastes even said "That Lana Lane (sic) is one hot chick. I can see why so many people like this show!" ;)
Literally? Oh, hell no. But the act in fiction has its appeal. Chloe licking her finger tips in Spell after clawing Clark's chest with her nails was HOT HOT HOT!!! LOL ;)
Yes, it was....
There's something very sexual about how vampirism is portrayed in movies and in books...
One reason I hated Van Helsing is because the Vampires weren't sexy, except in their human forms.
Their transformation into something more or less resembling demons took out any appeal that story may have otherwise held for me.
Love or hate Tom Cruise as Lestat, there is no denying that Interview With A Vampire was a very sexy film.
And Brad Pitt as a Vampire? That was very yummy and I don't particularly find either him or Cruise all that appealing.
Now, if someone put Tom Welling into a Vampire film, they'd quickly become "Midas rich."

Eh, I have to admit I started watching it just because of Tom too. One time I was home sick and was flipping through the channels and he was on the screen. I was just staring at him and had no idea what the show was about.
Later, I tried to tape the show. I didn't even successfully tape the whole episode, but I watched that tape over and over. I'm pretty sure it was Metamorphisis. By that time, I had figured out if was about Superman. My family told me they watched it and it was good and the rest is history.
You know I may actually get the chance to meet Tom. They are doing interstitials for my station about real life heros and they wanted TV heros to introduce the spots. They were trying to get Tom, Dean Cain, etc. I doubt Tom will do it. But I actually don't think I'd want to meet him at work, especially if he is as quiet as everyone says he is. It's boring sitting with the celebrities. You know they just want to get the job over with and leave. And I usually feel the same way. I wouldn't mind running around getting swag for Tom so much though. ;)

Does anyone watch Buffy I *tried* to watch the show. I *tried* to like it. It made me groan - in a bad way. I know a lot of people liked it - and still do - but I can't stand the darn thing. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard.
I just finished the whole series on DVD and I found Spike incredibly hot...Bleeeeech. Sorry, didn't do a thing for me. None of them did. I found DB overstuffed (literally) and the bleach blonde spiky hair thang just isn't my cup-o-Joe. But don't listen to me. I'm a *wicked* tough critic and re-heeeely hard to please when it comes to male beauty and what I find attractive, so pay me no heed. It does bring up an interesting corollary though, especially since the recent discussion in this thread touched on TW's "fangs" and him playing a vampire. (LOL!)
We've discussed various ideas for roles, but I confess vampire never came up in my head as a consideration. Irrespective of his atypical set of chompers, the more I think about this - and look at various photos and screen caps - the more I think he'd be PERFECT. The funniest part about that? The screen caps that help the imagination along the best are the ones where he's either playing Clark on RedK (or other OOC situations) or when he's being very Supermanly. LOL! Whoda thunk? I'll post some examples later on tonight, but I tell ya, it's a hoot!
Do you guys find that stubble on his face attractive?http://www.patcostello.com/smileys/confused.gif
http://www.patcostello.com/temp/ny1.jpg
You're kidding, right? That's like me asking you if you find women's boobs attractive. :p
If you're looking for actual reasoning, I'm not sure I can put it into words. Tailored stubble "decorates" a man's face like make-up does for women, and it contributes to that strong, rugged look some women find attractive in the opposite sex. Look at action heroes in films today. How many of 'em are perfectly clean-shaven compared to the 3-day stubble look?
Seriously though, I just don’t get the scruff thing in the promotional pictures of him? He doesn’t have it in the show...I think you just answered your own question. On the show, he's playing a character made up to look like a teenager (albeit not so successfully these days.) But when he actually *looks* his real age, he's even more attractive (IMHO.)
Why do you think The WB is using those promos? They're not pimping SV anymore by selling "Clark," otherwise he'd be clean shaven, dressed in plaid or a T-shirt and have a barn scene in the background (see 2nd season promo photos of the cast.) Clearly, that promo photo is selling TW, just like that HUMONGOUS billboard photo posted here a few days ago.
It'll be interesting to see what next season's marketing spread looks like because whether by accident or intentional, I think Welling's popularity is skewing older with each successive season. His appeal isn't just isolated to teenaged girls anymore. I still laugh (not mockingly - it's just funny) at posts from men who feel the need to identify themselves first as being very heterosexual, and then ask about how to duplicate Welling's hair style, or something along those lines.
Isn't that the billboard pic? Where did you find it?Hmm... not sure, but I scarfed the image from DTS. Those guys are usually on the ball with this sort of thing. ;)

Hello, I'm long time lurker...
I have found this:
http://www.fametracker.com/2_stars_1_slot/welling_somerhalder.shtml
into this:
http://lost-forum.com/showthread.php?p=141570#post141570
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Tom Welling vs. Ian Somerhalder
Battle of the Aging Girly-Boys
There are two things little girls love: boys who look like girls, and horses.
A psychiatrist might tell you there's not as big a difference between the two as you might think, but this is Fametracker, not Freudtracker, so we'll just observe that a little girl tends to get her first crush -- her first celebrity crush, anyway -- on a boy who isn't too intimidatingly masculine. Barely pubescent, even. Her idealized pretend boyfriend is determinedly smooth of cheek, long of lash, and waxed of chest. If she ever even gets to see enough of his chest to tell; the less she sees of his dangerously uncovered flesh, the better.
The problem for those who start out their careers as Non-Threatening Boys is that eventually, nature will assert itself, and your beard's gonna come in. When that happens, the teen-idol torch gets passed to a new generation of hairless WB stars, and you have to start having the kind of career where you appear in TV shows and movies watched by people who can vote. (And not just for American Idol.) This is the point at which Ian Somerhalder has arrived, and Tom Welling's going to be there very soon.
Welling and Somerhalder have followed parallel paths throughout their professional lives, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that they're hitting this career milestone together. Both started out as male models. Both did a few TV guest spots before landing on a WB drama (Somerhalder on Young Americans, Welling on Smallville). Neither has successfully made the jump to movie star yet (though Somerhalder's come closer, with supporting roles in such pretentious crapola as The Rules of Attraction and Life as a House; Welling only played one of the titular brood in last year's Cheaper by the Dozen).
Perhaps because the bloom is starting to fade from Tom Welling's rose (and because the show is on a slow decline), producers wisely attempted to bolster his appeal by adding Somerhalder as a recurring guest star last season. Somerhalder did his part to prop up the pretty as mysterious Kryptofreak (or was he?) Adam Knight; because of the character's murky backstory, his being named "Knight," and the DC Comics connection, many fans speculated that Somerhalder's character might turn out to be the teenaged Batman to Welling's teenaged Superman. (And hey, if the two of them just happened to get it on, I mean...well, the possibilities of superhero-on-superhero lovin' are largely unexplored.) (Heh heh. I said "explored." And "large.")
Anyway: maybe Adam Knight was going to end up the Dark Knight, and maybe he wasn't. We'll never know, because Somerhalder went and got himself cast on Lost, ABC's new breakout hit drama. It's not quite a grown-ass man role yet -- he has yet to take a leadership role and seems to be the second-youngest person on the island, after the Oz dude's son. But it's not a kid role either; he was seemingly not a dependent minor when he stepped onto the ill-fated plane. And besides, the longer they stay on the island, the dirtier and scruffier he's going to get. There's no hiding the secondary sex characteristics when your Gillette Mach 3 is floating somewhere in the ocean. Anyway: Somerhalder's Boone seems to be a an in-between stage in his life, just like Somerhalder. It's also a great role for those who enjoy seeing Somerhalder knitting his lovely brow, all perplexed at the unfathomable situation he's found himself in. He may not be the smartest or most capable man on the island, but he's certainly the prettiest.
Meanwhile, Tom Welling is still playing the same big dumb alien. So...good for him.
Advantage: Somerhalder, a.k.a. the one who isn't still on The WB."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope see TW in more mature roles...

I dont get the point of that? I've never thought either Welling or Somerhalder ever looked "girly".... That article makes a number of flawed assumptions too. Smallville's ratings were pretty high last season when Sommerhalder came on the show. Even if they werent, what would bringing a no name actor like IS on the show do for ratings anyway?
yeah Welling's been the lead in a network TV show for what will be 5 seasons and has a budding movie career. Every show IS has been on has either been canned or his character was killed off after a few episodes, and I dont think the guys been in a movie since "Rules of Attraction". Is it to soothe the wounds that IS fans have over on that Lost forum to make them feel better.
IS is an ass anyway, graceless and totally without class. I'll never forgive him for bashing the show just because he wasn't happy with the direction his character took.
He deserved to killed off another show. Serves him right.
Tom will have a much longer and more fulfilling career because he can *gasp* actually act, unlike Somerhalder who just emotes.

Just because the first few seasons they made him up to make him look younger, he's "girly"...
He is a tank, unlike the very slim Somerhalder.

I couldnt stand DB either but Spike was just a hell of alot of fun(not bad cheekbones either) It's one of those character not beauty things... and the first sex scene with him and Buffy my god.....Watching it for the first time during my Smallville addiction was interesting. You have Spike who is aggressively sexual evil/good verses a much more attractive man playing a fairly asexual role. It does make you wonder a role ilke that for TW would be like having Transference Clark all the time. Could you imagine ? :D

Thanks, Melly. :) I love that look on his face when he was talking to Jonathan and Martha.. Perfect and wrenching.
The Teen Choice awards nominations cover all ages, it's just whatever happens to be popular amongst teens. It's one of those award shows that personally I find to be very suspect in a "whose PR firm or studio paid the most to us this year" kinda way.. but, meh.. as long as Tom shows up again, I'll watch.
I already voted, btw.

Electra takes 'Cheaper' shot in comedy sequel
by Boris Kit
Los Angeles (Hollywood Reporter) - Carmen Electra has joined the cast of "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," a sequel to Fox's hit 2003 comedy remake.
Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt return as heads of the Baker family who, while on vacation, find themselves in competition with a rival family of eight children, headed by Eugene Levy. Electra plays Levy's new wife, a former actress.
Hilary Duff, a veteran of the first movie, is also in the cast.
Adam Shankman ("The Pacifier") is directing. Shawn Levy, the director of the first film, is serving as a producer.
Electra has appeared in the features "Starsky & Hutch" and "Scary Movie." She also stars in "Dirty Love" with Jenny McCarthy.

I'll be surprised if he takes it though. Not because of the film itself, but because of the lack of time off before SV kicks in again. Welling works his freakin' TAIL off on SV and is apparently "everywhere" during production. I would imagine he'd want to have a *few* weeks off before SV hell starts up again. But what do I know? If he takes the role, I'll be ecstatic. I'm the furthest thing from a Steve Martin fan you can imagine, but I wouldn't be going to see Martin. :p

If he's doing it he's been signed for ages - I'd bet my soul (not that it's worth much, but hey....) on that. Maybe he doesn't have to film long and decided to do it? He has to be back on SV in about 6 weeks doesn't he?
Well they also added his name to the cast list on CBTD2. I don't see how/why it would be wrong. I'm really happy he could use the exposure and the last movie did very well. Who knows it could go on for a long time like a modern day Brady Bunch.I think there's just something appealing to people to imagine themselves in a large family like that.

I'm not aware of any official confirmation (Although it could be in the early morning print edition of THR or Variety and I'd be one of the last to know!) yet, but I have been expecting some sort of press release. I was expecting one by the end of May, actually....
For me it's pretty much been a given that he would make some kind of appearance, however brief it may be, but as everyone here knows I don't like to place absolutes until there's been a press release. And even then things can change! I'd be very surprised if Tom isn't in this, and as far as I know he'd be the only one of the original 12 kids who aren't appearing in this one if that were the case.
However. IMDb accepts information from untrained gibbon monkeys, so without knowing where their info came from you shouldn't put all of your eggs into that basket - not unless you want to break most of them. The information they have in Tom's bio list is especially laughable. ;) It's at best only a few steps above TV Tome.
There really isn't much time left to announce him for this movie.... But then would he be given a press release at all if he's only making a 15-second "Hi and goodbye" appearance?
Well if nothing else we might get some more interviews with Bonnie Hunt gushing. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. I wonder if the family they are competing with has a brother in a similar age that may give an idea as to the size of his role. Also with listening to the commentary on the first, so much filming time is taken up with wrestling small children. Tom's role would have to be so much easier and quicker to film. Thanks for the update though I didn't know that IMBD wasn't a reputable source.

I think The Fog will probably be a better film, especially if you're inclined to see either because of Welling's involvement. He's the star of The Fog verses what will probably be an underused supporting actor role in CBtD2. I think the latter appeals more to fans of Steve Martin films and "kiddie" stories. At least The Fog will be aimed at slightly more mature audiences. I say again, "slightly." LOL

I know I'm probably stating the obvious here, but I'm re-heeely looking forward to seeing Tom's performances next season. He upped his game SO much going into the third season after working with - of all people - Steve Martin in the first CBtD film. Going into S5, he will have a LEAD role in a feature film under his belt and he will have worked with Martin and Co again in CBtD2. Welling has pretty much been non-stop for well over a year. That kind of on-the-job training and intensity - working with different directors and writers in different genres - will only accelerate his abilities and experience with the craft. He's one lucky guy.
And James, I'd say break a leg tomorrow, but that wouldn't go over too well, would it? ;) So I'll just say enjoy the drugs while you can. LOL G'luck! We'll be thinking of ya.

GMTA!
I was thinking the same thing not too long ago.. I think you're right.
And James, I'd say break a leg tomorrow, but that wouldn't go over too well, would it? ;) So I'll just say enjoy the drugs while you can. LOL G'luck! We'll be thinking of ya.
Yep....

They moved our threads? ****.
Well that confirmation about Tom in CBTD2 puts a big smile on my sleepy face. I thought the first one was fine enough for what it was.. but hopefully this one will be better. Steve M. and Bonnie H. are two of my very favorite comedians.. even in a marginal movie.. adding Tom to the mix is a Nirvana cocktail for me. :D
James - you know I wish you well. Hopefully they'll finally figure the knee thing out and get you all put together again. Stay in touch.. I'll be just hanging around myself. ;)

And now I'd better sleep. Busy morning tomorrow (duh), so I'll speak to all of you in a few days. :hyper: If nothing else I'll make a good one-legged Pirate come Wednesday.

TW and Maggie Grace made EW's Must list in this week's ish.
(The one with Routh and Bosworth on the cover.)

Tom Welling & Maggie Grace
Fright Club
Ages 28, 21
Mustworthiness In updating John Carpenter's flawed gem The Fog — the 1980 horror flick about a billowing bank of haunted, pissed-off mist that rolls over a sleepy little town — its producers concocted a can't-miss formula that worked scarily well last year for The Grudge: Take some TV talent — in this case Smallville's Tom Welling and Lost's Maggie Grace — and schedule a Shocktober release.
Favorite Movie Monster Grace: ''You can't do much better than the Blob.''
On the Remake ''It's more modern [than the original] in terms of special effects and spectacle,'' says Welling. ''I think audiences are looking for that. If you watch the original Fog, it's outdated. You can appreciate it for its time period, but I think audiences nowadays are a lot more sophisticated.'' (Outraged horror fans, please direct all protests to Welling's management.)
How's Grace's Scream? ''Pretty good. I've been cultivating it on Lost,'' she says. ''I like to work on it at stoplights — see how much I can freak people out.''
Hey... Didn't 'Lost' Crush 'Smallville' in the Ratings? ''Maybe that's why [Tom's been] giving me the evil eye,'' jokes Grace.
Did TV's Clark Kent Want the Movie Role? Despite rumors that he was considered, Welling says he wasn't approached. ''They literally would have had to cancel Smallville for me to be available.''
Next For Grace, season 2 of ABC's Lost. For Welling, season 5 of The WB's Smallville and a Cheaper by the Dozen sequel.

This is just a thread for ANYTHING about Welling? Not appreciation, just anything?
In that case, I am compelled to mention that he is the worst actor I've seen in at least 10 years.

The only thing similar about these 2 pics is that they contain 2 hot blondes...;)

I do not think that word means what you think it means.Well lets just refer to how SHH defines it, shall we?
"Trolling is considered the starting of a thread or posting in an established thread or forum for the express purpose of ticking off as many people as possible that would normally be reading that thread or forum. Trolling can result in a warning or probation. Continued trolling may result in banning."
http://www.superherohype.com/forums/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item#faq_new_faq_item_trolling
If you'd like further elaboration, I'm sure C.Lee (SHH mod) can explain it better for you.

I'm not here just to piss people off. It's a general discussion thread, as I said. And I would like to think that i'm not alone in my opinion here. Welling pales when he's up against Rosenbaum in any given scene, for example. Of course, I could say the same for Kruek as she compares to Mack.
Anyway, now that I know that dissenting opinions are unwelcome and seen as "trolling" here, I'll bother you no longer.
Whoa I just noticed something, Routh has bigger biceps than Welling :o

Not really. BJ's arm is flexed, TW's is not.
Now compare BJ to this image, where Tom's arm is flexed in a very similar way....

I don't think so, on all points, but you're entitled to your opinion.
I think we need to give a cookie to whoever said that the SR fans would be over here bashing us over the heads with this...
(And you know who you are... ;) )
I think I will ritually burn my copy once I pull it from my mail box. :D

Thanks... I'd like to think so. :D
I had a friend once who was born within fifteen minutes of me on the same day (just in a different state) and we got along like peas and carrots right from the get go.
I felt like I'd known him for years from the first time we talked... I only found out much later that our births were so close in time.
He was pretty smart too, kinda nutty, but smart... ;)
I think the same could be said of me. :D
