The snow we just got sucked, it went right below my knees. And I don't know who else here lives in Manhattan, but did you guys hear about Tim Burton being at the Virgin Music store in Union Square this past saturday? He was signing Corpse Bride DVD and NMBC merchandise for 2 hours only. I missed it. Which really sucks.

Actually, the Mets are getting a new stadium, but Shea is only 43 years old, they don't needs a new stadium.
And I agree, I don't want to see Yankee Stadium torn down. I have many fond memories from there, but the place is worn down and outdated. What the city plans to do is build a park around the facade of old Yankee Stadium, tearing down only the rehashed areas of the stadium. So it's not like the whole thing will be destroyed, just the newer portions. They will make the old portions of the stadium into a baseball park for the neighborhood, which is necessary since they are taking over McCooms Dam Park for the new stadium.

I also ate mc.d's like nobodys business. damn mc.d's...
I used to go there for Star Wars CCG cards back in the day. Hell, he was one of the guys who still sold the initial Premiere series in limited edition boxes for less than $100. Now he's just wrestling. No more comics and ****, just bootleg wrestling tapes from around the world.
McD's is a sickness waiting to happen. But the McD's there is a beautiful one. I went there for a birthday party once. Not a bad one, for a McD's.

IS fat, get that right.
He sells tapes, dvds, wrestling figures and belts, shirts, **** like that.
He also used to put on a show (one had Low-Ki v. Eddie Guerrero as the main event, why did I ever miss that show) once every month or so before he started balking on payments a ****ing over wrestlers. His shows were shut down, but with help of a SUCCESSFUL NY promoter he's putting on a show in May.q

Oh yeah, anyway, membership is $140 a month if you sign an annual contract, and $155 if you're paying month-to-month. Also, there's an initiation fee of $525.
If you're ever in the Union Square area, you should go check it out. Very posh.

I feel out of place in this exhibition though. So far I'm one of only two drawers, and the other is hyper realistic. The rest of the pieces will be paintings and sculptures.

It would be a nice time to break out my suit. Its been a couple months since i've been in that bad boy.
However, I MAY end class on saturday at 5. Give or take 90 minutes to get home. Give or take 60 minutes to change + get to QC....
leave me give or take 90 minutes. worth it?
Some of the artwork being presented are amazing pieces, from what I've seen. But I wouldn't force it if you can't. As said, the gallery will be up for 2 weeks, so even if missing the opening, you can still come by and check out the show itself.

i probably wont check it out at all. honestly i'd go just to meet you, say waddup, kick back a couple beers & hotdogs, and go our separate ways back here.
As fun as that would be, it would probably be a bad time to meet up. There is going to be throughout the 6 hours around 300 people in and out of the place, and I honestly have no idea how long I will be there. Only so long you can stare at the same art, even when bull****ting with everyone.

Ok, a friend of mine lives in the Bronx. It's not a bad area persay, where he is, but on the news they had found a briefcase with an arm and a leg in it only a block away. That's NYC for ya.
Abaddon
04-04-2006, 06:18 PM
what kind of suitcase was it?
8Ball2/JanG5
04-04-2006, 06:21 PM
A briefcase I think. I don't know. Or maybe just a travel suitcase.
Wow, a breifcase? Usually severed limbs are left in dufflebags or paper sacks or grabage bags. Over the last year, the discovery of severed limbs just doesn't seem that rare anymore.
8Ball2/JanG5
04-04-2006, 06:31 PM
I'm telling you, this was either a suitcase or a briefcase. It was square, whatever it is. Probably a suitcase, unless it was a very big briefcase. I don't remember and don't know if the one who told me about it remembers exactly either.
Hmm... suitcase sounds more plausable. You can fit a good set of legs or arms and torso in a suitcase (how the hell do I know this ****? Gotta stop watching horror films). It's unfortunate that there has been so many dismembered limbs in the city as of late.
It is almost on an average of every 3 months a new set of limbs or dismembered body has been found somewhere in NYC. Almost gets disturbing.
Abaddon
04-04-2006, 06:57 PM
Its the mob
Nah, mobs have mass graves in vacant lots that get accidentally dug up in Queens (boy, was the disturbing to see on the news that one day).
These seem to be other types of crimes, none of them seem related at all, either.
Don't let this prevent anyone from visiting NYC. We're still a beautiful area. We have some great traffic jams.

I need a place to shoot my project.
I don't know about large empty lots or back alleys, but Long Island City has an abundance of industrial factories as well as plenty of abandoned railroad tracks which are used for garbage dump sights.
I've used those railroad tracks for plenty of photographs years ago, leading to some very interesting compositions.
It's not a vacant lot, but it could be something you can use.
Are you willing to give any details about your project? Inquiring minds'd like to know.

Sounds interesting. The project is really just a film excersize. Trying to scout for locations and can't find anything appetizing.
Then I definately suggest Long Island City here in Queens. It was a lot of fun, and heavily industrial (although I like the ambiance given by industrial areas in photographs).
Hey, you spoke to boyscouT on occassion, you have and idea why he was banned (why he requested to be so)?

An industrial setting could definitely be beneficial to my shoot.
Anyway, about boyscouT - i'm really not sure why he requested to be banned. He was following in my footsteps? Dunno. He'll be back. They always come back.
Well, enjoy your shoot. Just gotta say, if you use the railroad tracks, be wary of security cameras and cops. Technically, you're not supposed to be there. But the end product is worth it.

Great. Recovery went & going well, but it's going to be a 6-month ongoing process with these scars, especially now that it's spring/summer time. I need to keep bandages on the wounds or else the sun exposure would lead to unwanted results. These operations put me out of commission from the weight room for 3 months, so it's good to be back, lifting again.
