View Full Version : Any Special Cameos ya think?

Hunter Rider

Iv'e been checking up on various GR books using the Comicspriceguide and saw that he's had quite a few crossovers,so having ruled out impossible ones like wolverine and spiderman(i kept punisher b/c lions gate are a small company and would maybe do a deal if the price was right and Blade i think is finished at New line) I came up with these.
So who would you like to see cameo in GR(or sequel)?:) :ghost:

FlameHead

I would love to see Blade have a cameo. Their worlds can coexist so easily. They have to wait for the sequal for that to happen though. Ghost Rider needs to be established first.

blade because gr could fight blackout in a later movie. vampires demons it all the same to me.

Dr. Strange would be cool.

Maybe Daimon Hellstrom, or Satanna.

Blade
The Punisher
Captain America
None of the above.

I like the Hellstrom idea. Makes perfect sense really.

No cameos. Character appearances should stick to those characters who are from the GR titles, or completely new, and themed in such a manner that they can be easily explained in the context of the self-contained GR movie universe.

FlameHead
11-14-2004, 05:23 AM
The self contained GR movie universe that you talk about has a great opportunity to join or help develop a world already known by us; a world of the occult. There is no reason that any character in that type of universe can't join the world of GR... especially seeing there is a very detailed history involving many characters; the Midnight Sons.

WarBlade
11-14-2004, 07:38 AM
The Midnight Sons wouldn't work either. Too tangled. Too many wildly different backstories. Too many different plot threads from too large an ensemble cast.

There's even screen proof of the mess that can happen when mixing things together with an enlarged and varied cast: Batman & Robin in one sense, Alien versus Predator in another. Hell, even X-Men 2 was nudging close to a precipice with the task of trying to keep all of those characters as fleshed out as they were.

The Ghost Rider is a loner by nature anyway. He doesn't need friends. Only vengeance.

FlameHead
11-15-2004, 10:11 AM
Nicely put there at the end... though I do disagree with your comments on the Midnight Sons. Though it is indeed a jumbled mess of characters, it has so much to offer.

As you've probably noticed, the producers of these characters take certain liberties in changing the storylines and characters. Never is the film verstion exact to the story told in the comic. Often times, the movie involves storylines told in several different arcs.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that the Midnight Son's universe has A LOT of storyline to sift through. There are millions of possibilites for film projects.

Why can't Spider-Man cameo? But at what you have listed, I wouldn't mind having The Punisher cameo.

RedIsNotBlue
11-16-2004, 09:45 AM
It would nice if at some point there is a tv in the background and it has a news report of the top of crime family being gunned down by a mysterious figure (The Punisher).

FlameHead
11-18-2004, 02:07 AM
Any little cameo like that would be nice. I don't need lines or a really long time on screen. Just something acknowledging the fact that they all exist in the same universe, ya know?

Same here. These are Marvel movies and I have to see some evidence in them that they even exist in the same universe.

FlameHead
11-18-2004, 07:44 AM
Exactly, and it's even easier to do with the Midnight Son's. Their entire universe is something that is widly known to the world. Everyone knows about vampires, demons , werewolves and the rest of the occult.

I doubt we'll see Stan Lee as he was not a creator of the character and I'm pretty sure he only shows up in moves that feature his characters... but do you think we'll see anybody special or be referenced to anybody special?

I have no idea what they look like but I'd love to see Tex' make an appearance... or perhaps Javier Saltarez? Wouldn't that be neat?

Do you guys think we'll see any cameos at all (Be them actual people or characters)

since it's MSJ writing and directing, I wouldnt be surprised if we got alot of name dropping in it, like there was in Daredevil :o

FlameHead
03-02-2005, 04:20 AM
Hmmm... name dropping like who? I can't remember any name dropping in DD... though I probably just didn't recognize the names.

Name dropping would be cool even. I consider that a mini cameo...

MSJ mentioned that Stan Lee had been written into the script (in November), with a short cameo in one scene.
Not that many people at the production Q&A reacted to it, but I think it's great! I can't wait to see it become a reality.

Abe
03-02-2005, 06:37 AM
there are a few he hasn't done, like Man-Thing, The Punisher, and the Blade films.
but I think his going to try to be in all of them (but maybe not the sequels).

Well Stan Lee tends to just be in the movies where he had a part in creating the character but I think he should be in every Marvel movie just because he is Stan.

Name dropping would be cool even. I consider that a mini cameo...

In DD, when Fixer is talking to Jack Murdock before his big fight, he tells him that Bendis, Mack, and Millar were all his fighters...Brian Michael Bendis, David Mack, and Frank Millar were all Daredevil writers. And the fight itself is against John Romita, who drews alot of Daredevil back in the day.

Awesome. I'll all for havin Stan the man make an appearance. I love playin' the "Where's Stan-do" game...

OK, I remember seeing the Romita refereance... and loving it. I didn't take notice to the fighters referance though. I'm not a reader of DD so I probably wouldn't anyway.

Thanks for the info! I can't wait to see what MSJ does in Ghost Rider. I hope there's lots of name droppin' for us fans.

not really a cameo of a character or a real person but someone from the GR comics...suprised no one has mentioned this yet.

The DD references were awesome.
MSJ really is a comic book geek. Thatīs great.
I just saw the MAN-THING film ( kind of OK horror film, but nothing to do with the actual character ), and there are two characters under the names MIKE PLOOG ( the FIRST GR artist ) and STEVE GERBER ( great MAN-THING and DEFENDERS 70īs writer and artist ).
I love this.
In GR movie, iīll be glad to see lots of references, like Stark Industries, Daily Bugle, Frank Castle, the Ketch family, the Kales, something like that.
Maybe a Jack Russell ( WEREWOLF BY NIGHT ) cameo or Avi Arad himself ( he has a cool mid-eastern mafia look ).
That would be cool.

I made a suggestion a long while ago that I think it would be cool if like there was a tv screen in the background with the news on talking about a group of gangsters being killed and a skull symbol being left...or something like that. I think that would be cool.

Hey Red, I do remember you making that suggestion... and it still is a very good one. I'd love to see something like that... and you're right Carter, with Roxanne being a newsie person, she could be doing a report like that.

You just reminded me about the original original Ghost Rider, btw. They could even pay props to him by mentioning Carter Slade or something. That would be interesting.

I soo would love a Midnight Sons Movie. Perfect Crossover for these two franchises, and it would serve as a perfect test as far as studios are concerned for a future Superman/Batman film. Snipes as much as i can tell, is over the whole Blade thing, but with a Midnight Sons movie, i think hed reprise his role to be in this with Nic Cage. Think anyone with artistic talent is up to doing a poster for this possability?? Id do it but...um... i suck at art. But the fan posters ive seen on this board rock!!!!!

I'm not with you on the WereWolf by Night idea. I think there is enough representations of WereWolves in film and it would be neat to see something new, ya know?

I wonder will Stan Lee make a cameo? I know he usually only does them for characters he created... but they did film one for him in Blade, which wasn't used. Perhaps they'll have him in this one too?

Welcome to the hype WindHawk!

I'd love to see a cameo of someone in the first flick but, you're probably right. They'll save that for a sequel. I'm still dreamin' about havin' Blade there for a scene or two but of course, that'll never happen.

We'll probably see some artists or writers of Ghost Rider make an appearance though. MSJ did that in DareDevil and if he's able, he'll do it again.

My pleasure WindHawk.

Punisher would be awesome to have as a cameo, I agree. There's actually a scene in the movie where Ghost Rider does a "Jesus ride" as Avi likes to call it, where he gets away from some cops by traveling over water. It's funny cuz this happens during the first time Ghost Rider and Punisher meet in the comic. Frank hops on back of the bike and they take off over the water. I doubt we'll see Castle on back in the flick though...

If Carter Slade was the horseback riding GR, I'll bet Caretaker is him. It'd explain why he knows so much about The Rider. Plus, we have seen Sam Elliott on horseback in the Comic Con footage. Quality indeed. I chuckled for minutes after hearing it... though I'm a huge Strange fan too, so it especially tickled my fancy.

I would prefer Caretaker being Carter, since the Caretaker of The Blood really rubbed me the wrong way during his time in Vol. 2.

Something to that extent.
