Here's a Cap remix done for a movie by Capt. Rogers and crappily colored in paint by yours truly:)

I like that but it resembles Ultimate Cap a little too much. I'm a big fan of the Ultimate look for Cap so I'm interested in seeing what they'd come up with for a possible movie that wouldn't be an exact copy.

I think you've got a good start but I'd try to make it a little bit different....maybe darken the colors, do something with the star on the chest...etc.

Oh and for being colored in paint that's pretty damn good.

I think If Cap was used in a movie they would use his Ultimate version, or closely based off of it.

Ya, the ultimate avengers dealy was meant to be the "real" heroes. So i could see them using that costume. By real i mean if they were in present day actual hero form... like alive. But ya, the ultimate Cap Am costume did look neat. I dont think theyll add the wings on the cap. Unless they can come up with a good use for them.

Thanks alot on the coloring comment man i really appreciate it especially coming from you:) When capt. rogers drew it i was like that's awesom i must color it. It took like forever cause i was doing it at work.

The colors are meant to be darker but it was weird doing it in paint. I wanted to show the texture for the materials in my head you know. Like some kind of plated kevlar for the the blue. And the white on him is kinda of a dirty off white canvas color. Everything dark grey is like a quilted protection. And everything light grey or silver is meant to be like a flat metalic silver.

Heres a Red Skull Redesign ive been working on. Instead of actually having a red skull he has a more task master style mask. The skull part would be metalic red the jaw area would either be his face are a black mask he wore underneith (havnt decided). The circle with the Nazi symbol would be white and he would wear a common Nazi uniform.

The Question

And below, you will finally find my work. I took what I thought were the best of both previous costumes and added them together. I took the mask, the gun holsters, the energy shield, and the sword from the later version and added it with the early costume. I also made the pouches larger on his belt, shifted the sheath for his sword onto his right shoulder instead of at his left thigh and strapped a bow & arrows to his other shoulder. I also removed the pirate boots (gave him some neat looking shin guards instead) and scrapped the undies as well.

Good, but you forgot something:Task Master is supposed to have wrist thingys that mimic Spidy's web shooters and Wolverine's claws.

MOONWING

Real Name: Dick Grayson

Identity/Class: Extra-dimensional (Earth-Amalgam) human

Occupation: (currently) Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.; (formerly) circus acrobat, freelance adventurer, special Central Intelligence Agency operative

Affiliations: S.H.I.E.L.D., Colonel Bruce Wayne, Black Bat (Barbara Gordon), Sergeant Joe Rock, Colonel Nick Fury

Enemies: Hydra, Green Skull (Lex Luthor), Baron Zero (Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker), Deathlok (Jason Todd), Madame Cat (Selina Luthor), Nuke (Bane Simpson)

Known Relatives: none

Aliases: Tim Drake, Marc Spector

Base of Operations: S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier

First Appearance: Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 (February, 1996); Detective Fury #38 (in Amalgam continuity)

Powers/Abilities: Although he possesses no superhuman abilities, Moonwing is both a superb acrobat and hand-to-hand combatant. As an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Moonwing possesses keen detective skills and has access to a wide assortment of technological gadgets, such as the S.H.I.E.L.D. jet pack he uses to rocket into battle zones. Moonwing is also proficient in the use of his crescent-shaped boomerangs.

History:

Dick Grayson spent his early years as a circus acrobat. During his family's high-wire act, a celestial celebration in which young Dick played the man on the moon, Grayson wore a costume adorned with lunar imagery. After leaving the circus, Grayson became a freelance adventurer and later became a special Central Intelligence Agency operative.

(Detective Fury #38) - Young CIA operative Dick Grayson caught the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Bruce Wayne. Seeing great potential in the former circus acrobat, Wayne requested he be transferred to S.H.I.E.L.D. Grayson quickly rose in the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. despite the fact that he suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder -- he also assumed the identities of high-flying crime fighter Tim Drake and costumed mercenary Marc Spector. Though frequently confusing, the skills exhibited by all three personalities were highly valued by S.H.I.E.L.D. Grayson eventually took the code-name "Moonwing."

(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 (bts)) - Dick Grayson left S.H.I.E.L.D. for a period of time to attend Oxford University. During his absence, his protégé, a young man by the name of Jason Todd, assumed the mantle of Moonwing.

(Dark Claw: The Murder Gag) - Unfortunately, Jason Todd was presumed to have been killed when he was caught in an explosion. Unaware that Todd's still-living body was retrieved by the criminal organization known as Hydra, Dick Grayson eventually returned to the mantle of Moonwing.

(Secret Crisis of the Infinity Hour #7) - Moonwing, as well as many of Earth's other heroes, were transported to Apokolips by Dr. Strangefate to assist in preventing the evil Thanoseid's plan to warp reality by using the Infinity Links. Moonwing watched on as American Girl (Carol Barnes), the former sidekick of Super-Soldier (Clark Kent), heroically sacrificed her life to further the heroes' cause

(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 ) - "Mission: Destroy Hydra!" - As S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft engaged Hydra skipjets in a dogfight above the Green Skull's Hydra Base Omega, Moonwing, Bruce Wayne, and Black Bat (Barbara Gordon) were aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier preparing to lead a team of ground troops in for the kill.

Outiftted with jet packs, Moonwing and his team leapt out of the Helicarrier and attacked a battalion of Hydra agents on the ground outside Hydra Base Omega. But while Moonwing was busy taking down a Hydra agent, he was attacked from behind by Deathlok (Jason Todd), the former wearer of the Moonwing mantle who now fought on the side of Hydra. Feeling betrayed by both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, Deathlok vowed to kill Moonwing and then destroy Wayne. Deathlok unmasked Moonwing and then began to choke the life out of his former mentor. Fortunately for Moonwing, Colonel Nick Fury and Sergeant Joe Rock had commandeered an aircraft and shot Deathlok in the back. Although he felt sorry for his former friend, Moonwing left Deathlok's body behind and went to look for his fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Moonwing reunited with Black Bat and Bruce Wayne and led a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents into the Control Level of Hydra Base Omega. Unfortunately, the Green Skull (Lex Luthor) had activated the Planetsmasher Program, a weapon designed to cause an earthquake that would drop the entire East Coast of the United States into the Atlantic Ocean, and there was no way to deactivate it. Moonwing and Black Bat battled Baron Zero (Wolfgang Von Strucker) as Bruce Wayne fought Madame Cat (Selina Luthor). But before they could evacuate, Hydra Base Omega exploded as the Green Skull watched on from a remote location.

Thought I'd bump this thread with a quick redesign of Captain America. I did all of these in about 30min so they're nothing spectacular. If I get some time soon I'd like to do a better quality drawing of this suit...I think it has promise. I haven't figured out what (if any) changes I'd like to make on the shield, but here's a quick rundown of my ideas...

I always thought it would be a cool storyline to have Tony Stark/Iron Man stumble upon Steve Roger's frozen body somewhere in the artic (like he did in Ultimates). Upon reviving Cap he learns of his past history and the super soldier program he was involved in. Wanting to continue his crusade against evil Rogers decides to join Stark's newly formed government funded team "The Avengers". Knowing that his uniform of old won't cut it against the criminals of today Tony Start outfits Steve Rogers with an updated version of his former uniform complete with all of the latest armor/technology and Steve Rogers once again assumes the mantle of "Captain America".

- The suit itself is loosely based on the body armor from Batman Begins. Clad in the colors of the country Cap has sword to protect this kevlar/nomex bi-weave is tear resistant, fireproof and capable of stopping a bullet from a distance.

- The helmet is also a kevlar/nomex bi-weave with an adamantium plate grafted to the front. The eagle icon on the forehead serves as a GPS tracking device, and the "wings" are really a radio transceiver capable of 2-way communication with any member of The Avengers. The chin strap on the helmt is tamper proof and emits a powerful eletrical current (which Cap is shielded from due to the insulation in his helmet) if Cap is ever rendered helpless.

- Built inside of each glove is a high powered magnetic pulse generator that is capable of pulling certain objects directly into Cap's reach.

- The utility belt is an homage to the one Cap used to wear during WW2. On the belt is a canteen, first aid kit, flash gernades, high powered explosives and smoke pellets.

- The shield (not pictured...yet) is made of an indestructible adamantium alloy. The outer rim of the shield has been fitted with a diamond like substance capable of cutting through almost any substance known to man. The shield itself has been magnetized in sync with the magnetic pulse on Cap's gloves so it returns instantly after being thrown, or can be instantly rendered useless if used against him.

I'm dying to see what you could do with Iron Man :D

When I do redesigns I try to make their look practical, like it serves a purpose so when I think of their costume/uniforms...whatever you want to call it, I try to think of what it would look like in the "real world". Cap would need protection just like Batman because although he is strong, he's not bulletproof. The wings on the head never served a purpose so now they are much like Batman's "ears" in that they house the radio receiver. I was also never a fan of the ears poking through the mask...why do that??

One aspect I never understood was how Cap's shield came back to him. It's not a boomerang so it would just continue to fly until it lost momentum, now (I think this has been done before) his shield is magnetized in sync with the magnetic generator in his gloves so once thrown, the shield will return. A cool thing I thought of was "what if Cap's shield was used against him?" well now if someone were to throw it at him he could stop it dead with a wave of his hand.

All of this technology is courtesy of Stark Enterprises of course.

Iron Man will be shown in time...I've been working on him for over a month now because I really wanted to do something cool, like a blueprint skematics type of breakdown of the suit.

The only challenge is coming up with a look for Iron Man that hasn't been done before. He has so many variations on his armor it's tough to think of things that haven't already been done.

But....if Stark would do this much for Cap's suit, just think of what he'd do for his own.

Well, I decided to give OneDisturbedSOB's cap redesign a try. I took the suit and colored it, and drew, a head from scratch. I tried to base it off of his version of caps head, but it came out looking about 20-30 years younger than it was supposed to. But I figure eh, its a face, so not bad for my first "from scratch" photoshop head. And you can probably figure out where the hands and feet came from.

Yeah. The story was that the Super Soldier formula was tested on some black soldiers befor Steve Rogers got injected with it. That actually would have been protocoll for testing a new drug back in WW2.

Excellent... really looking forward to seeing your design. Did you go for the more Gundamesque (Ultimates) feel for the armor, or did you go for the old school spandex/shoulder pads look of the armor?

0neDisturbedSOB
07-21-2005, 04:21 PM
Gundamesque all the way, but he's not 10ft tall. I wanted him to maintain the armor aspect, like you're able to tell that a person is WEARING the suit rather than seeing a person INSIDE a huge machine. My Iron Man would be about 7ft tall inside the armor.

I've kept the repulsar rays and rocket boots intact, just made some minor tweaks here and there. His helmet looks pretty sweet too, very stylish and cutting edge.

i told someone else here this trick, so ill tell you. when your drawing. use a light blue drawing pencile, not a blue colored pencile, but drawing pencil, you can find them at art stores n what not.

when you have your drawing all done, go over thelines you want to keep with a no. 2. or dark drawing pencil. that should make it look cleaner when you scan and copy. the copy machine wont pick up the blue at all. scanners depending on your setting wont pick it up either.

give it a shot

Some quick head sketches of my Iron Man redesign. The helmet resembles the currently one from "The Ultimates", but I've changed a few things. I always thought that the look they used of being able to see Tony Stark's eyes through the eye holes in his helmet was completely ridiculous...it made the helmet seem like a shell over his head. You'd think a guy that spent a few BILLION dollars on a suit like this would have a helmet that could actually do something....like protect his eyes!

I like what they did in Ultimates with making the helmet the central nerver center for the entire suit. I also liked how they allowed Stark to have computer information displayed in his helmet. All I did was modify the helmet a bit and give him an actual SCREEN for his information to be displayed on.

I am going to clean this drawing up using some line art in Illustrator. I am also going to do different views of the helmet and make a "blueprint" sort of deal this way I can better explain what I wanted to do. In the meantime I hope this works for you.

I'm pretty sure that series has already been done. It was part of the Marvel "Mangaverse" that was done a few years ago. You can pick up the TBP in stores....some stories are cool (Avengers, Spider-Man) but some are just lame (Ghost Rider, Punisher).

Ok here's a PREVIEW of what I've been working on for my Iron Man redesign. Iron Man has always been one of my favorite characters, but I could never take him too seriously because of the ugly suits he's worn. I have always hated the look he had of you being able to see his eyes and mouth through the open areas of his helmet...it made me think of someone putting a bucket over their head and cutting holes in it.

When I decided to take a stab at it I REALLY wanted to make it look as if Stark got his moneys worth having spent billions of dollars on the armor. I am a BIG fan of his new "Ultimate" look, and even his current look in "INVINCIBLE IRON MAN" is a huge step up.

I've been toying around with redesigning Iron Man for over 2 months now, and it wasn't until recently when I saw a teaser for "Ratchet Deadlocked" that I finalized my design. I wanted to make the design look like an actual blueprint sheet to give it more of an "official" feel to it. I referenced some blueprints online and went to town....I even made a crappy Stark Enterprises logo to give it that extra sense of realism....if Tony Stark were real and had this made I would want him to hold this EXACT sheet in his hands.

I hope you can all read the specs I wrote. Please keep in mind I am by no means a technical designer, and about 90% of the technical words I used I improvised on so bare with me.

So without further delay I present IRON MAN....well his helmet at least.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/OneDisturbedSOB/Sketchbook/Side-helmet-specs-02.jpg

I will be working on a front and back shot of the helmet, and of course the really hard part THE ARMOR.

Hope you like it.

Thanks a lot. Yeah I did put a lot of thought into it since I never thought Iron Man had a proper suit of armor (with the exception of Ultimate Iron Man and the current one). I was really trying to make something look like it could be worth billions of dollars. As far as the technical aspect of it goes, I've been reading a TON of Iron Man comics lately and I've tried to note certain technical jargain they use to make it sound more realistic.

In the end though I BS'ed my way through the whole thing.

To be honest I am a huge fan of the ltimate iron man look as well. I dunno, something about the older suits and having the "skin tight" look didnt make sense to me with respect to the most advanced piece of technology on the planet. The "Ultimate" suit is by far my favorite interpretation of Iron Man's armor I've seen. It's like I said, the rest just made his helmet look like a pale over his head with some eye/mouth holes cut out. I do like the suit they gave him in the INVINCIBLE series because that kept the idea of the classic armor, but gave it a much more believable look (glowing eyes..etc).

I was wondering what would DC versions of Marvel characters look like? You know, capes and melodrama?

No, more like continuity, depth, and less b*tching and moaning...

Sorry SOB i don't really dig your iron man design good art though like the tech sheet view. I hate the ultimate armor it's too bulky and mechish to me. Now i do completely agree with you SOB about granov's design it completly works and looks great. Should be the movie version IMO.

Actually I really like his Ultimate armor....it's just a lot more practical and realistic than any other version out there. The armor he currently sports in the comics is cool too, but in the real world it's just not practical. If someone were to built a suit of armor with all of the hi-tech gadgetry like Stark has, there is no way it could be as sleak and compact as Iron Man's armor...it would look "techy" and bulky like the Ultimate armor does.

Just my opinion but Ultimate Iron Man is the best version to date.

word....... one thing i really like about the ultimates and the ultimate marvel...... its all believable, nothing to to far fetched. ironmans armor is realistic, they even went threw and showed you how thor really works.

its all good so far, probly why it saved marvel from bankrapcy, that and some major movies. haha cough spiderman, cough cough

take your time with your stuff man. if you rush it all it will look like crap, and your way better then that. i do know the feeling of tryin to get alot of different things done at the same time. but i dont rush because i know the art will suffer, your one of the top guys on here, take your time and im sure it will look great.

I'm not talking about this iron man
http://www.funky-stuff.com/bd/moebius/Super_Heros/IronMan.jpg

where they are trying to say the yellow parts ar metal that bends and can deflect bombs.

I'm talking about Granov's design
http://www.sofos.com/adi/illustration/imco02.jpghttp://www.sofos.com/adi/illustration/imco06.jpg

See form meet function and it's not hideous like the ultimate version. IMO

0neDisturbedSOB
08-03-2005, 11:32 AM
I like Granov's design a lot, but it's still a little too form fitting for my liking. Iron Man isn't supposed to wear a COSTUME, he's supposed to wear ARMOR...IMO Ultimate Iron Man conveys that perfectly.

Plus I like how his suit actually "jacks in" to his body via the plugs he has.

RAMORE
08-03-2005, 11:38 AM
I'm all good with the jack in but if you look at midevil armor it looks very similar to granov's design only better which it should considering the technology. I just don't like my iron man lookign like mech gundamwing thing. to me tech gets smaller not bigger. if you did a 90's version i would be for the ultimate version bigger bulky like they are still working things out but wer'e in 05 they're are hand held devices with internet phone picture color computer capabilities.

Mr. Marko
08-03-2005, 11:39 AM
I still enjoy this one better.
http://www.hillcity-comics.com/poster_misc/iron_man.jpghttp://www.hillcity-comics.com/poster_misc/ultimate_ironman.jpg

It just has more of a gritty, tech feel to it.

0neDisturbedSOB
08-03-2005, 11:41 AM
I guess I just prefer my designs to be more realistic. If someone were to build a suit like that, it would have to be bulky to house all of the technology Iron Man has. We are not at the point where we can make technology like that, as compact as it appears in the current comics. I do like Granov's design, I just like the Ultimate version better.

WOW that's really gundamesque but it's very cool looking:) I gues what throws me off most about the ultimate version is the helmet:( In fact i don't mind most of the iron man above i would just take off the giant gun, and the flaps above his sholders and part of the piece on the side of his helmet.

yeah, the house of M ironman, its a big gundam like machine he used for fighting in what seems to be like a sport there, for humans. if you dont know much about the house of M story line, probly not gonna know what and whyit looks that way, but its cool for how the story is going. in short, humans and mutants switch, now mutants run the show and humans try to survive.

it is pritty good right now, you should check it out if your into marvel.
