not digging north star... not many a gay man would look like that... thought the rest are pretty awesome
as for the cap design in the previous post... dude, i think you need to work on proportions.

umm huge goatee for one... and 2 him and his sisters costumes should be similar, you pretty much gave auroras her normal one, but for some reason you moved northstars star to the middle of his torso.. when it'd make more sense to have it on the opposite side of his sister, or at least put hers in the middle too. Im just saying NS is usually a well dressed prick of a guy, and he doesn't come off that way in your design at all.

I love the Sasquatch pic, and I would like to see it finished and coloured...
By the way, I really believe Northstar dress is great. I believe that Spiderboy feeling about the lack of gayness is not caused by the clothes he wears, but for the squared jaw, the Serj Tanjian´s beard and the macho attitude.
Now is the moment for Spiderboy to discover that gay men haven´t got a queer gene. Hey, I can swear that they are not always soft and girly! Amaze yourself
! Some friends of you could be homosexual and you could never discover it!
Maybe you would prefer something more clear in the picture like... a big pink neon sign on his chest! or maybe... a neat pink feather stole! or a black leather tanga!
Mrh7448, lets work on something like that!!

you do realize your talking to a gay guy right? i know what other gay guys are like, and gene or no... i dont think the design fits northstars character. now a tiny french like goatee would work, and id still get rid of the star in the center, and just move it over somewhere.

I Think Uriondo responded that way because of how you worded your comment. Putting the fact he was gay as the most important thing. It was a strange wording. The comments you made regarding the design really had nothing to do with the fact that Northstar is gay but more that you think the design doesn't suite him.
Your first comment was just worded in a strange way.
I tried to get him to look a little cocky and egotistical, a little patronizing. As for his costume not looking like his sisters I didn't want it too. I wanted them to have a unifying theme (the star) but I didn't want it to look like they dress alike. They are two individual people and there was a point where Aurora's costume looked nothing like Northstar's.

nice sketches. I'd love to see them polished up. I also agree with some of the comments and think they should be considered. Thats all part of it, though. These are all pretty raw ideas that could have more adjustments and tweaking.
Its is nice to see this thread popping up again.

i happened to stumble across an old Luke Cage villain called Mr. Fish. don't know much about him but i thought is original design was hilarious so i "updated" him by making him look more like a threat to a guy like luke cage.

Wow guys! Some of those redesigns are spectacular!
I made a redesign of Spidey, but I don't think it's any close to what you guys are doing, and yes I know he looks like a Pokemon but I figured out that if Peter didn't have that much money while he became Spider-man he couldn't afford a great costume. So I stuck to a simple blue costume, with black lenses to make him look like a Spider and a red big spider logo at the back (which is not the part of the material, i'ts like a rubber-logo stuck on to the costume so it looks like the spider was sitting on him). So the four red things on the front are the legs of the spider. And why did I make him blue, not red? I guess I just got fed up with the old design...
Noneless here he is, and I'm not to good with photoshop but it was ment to keep very, very simple (He is still in progres):

I've been thinking about how they are going to bring Captain America back eventually and when they do I think they will put him in a new costume to try it out and to keep people guessing. I'd like you talented folks to take a crack at it. Remember to change anything that wouldn't make sense. Or take the Ultimate approach being if they created a character right now for 2008 called Captain America how would he look. In my opinion the Ultimate cap didn't go far enough. Can't wait to see what yall do!

One of the best cap redesigns ever:
Thought I'd bump this thread with a quick redesign of Captain America. I did all of these in about 30min so they're nothing spectacular. If I get some time soon I'd like to do a better quality drawing of this suit...I think it has promise. I haven't figured out what (if any) changes I'd like to make on the shield, but here's a quick rundown of my ideas...
I always thought it would be a cool storyline to have Tony Stark/Iron Man stumble upon Steve Roger's frozen body somewhere in the artic (like he did in Ultimates). Upon reviving Cap he learns of his past history and the super soldier program he was involved in. Wanting to continue his crusade against evil Rogers decides to join Stark's newly formed government funded team "The Avengers". Knowing that his uniform of old won't cut it against the criminals of today Tony Start outfits Steve Rogers with an updated version of his former uniform complete with all of the latest armor/technology and Steve Rogers once again assumes the mantle of "Captain America".
- The suit itself is loosely based on the body armor from Batman Begins. Clad in the colors of the country Cap has sword to protect this kevlar/nomex bi-weave is tear resistant, fireproof and capable of stopping a bullet from a distance.
- The helmet is also a kevlar/nomex bi-weave with an adamantium plate grafted to the front. The eagle icon on the forehead serves as a GPS tracking device, and the "wings" are really a radio transceiver capable of 2-way communication with any member of The Avengers. The chin strap on the helmt is tamper proof and emits a powerful eletrical current (which Cap is shielded from due to the insulation in his helmet) if Cap is ever rendered helpless.
- Built inside of each glove is a high powered magnetic pulse generator that is capable of pulling certain objects directly into Cap's reach.
- The utility belt is an homage to the one Cap used to wear during WW2. On the belt is a canteen, first aid kit, flash gernades, high powered explosives and smoke pellets.
- The shield (not pictured...yet) is made of an indestructible adamantium alloy. The outer rim of the shield has been fitted with a diamond like substance capable of cutting through almost any substance known to man. The shield itself has been magnetized in sync with the magnetic pulse on Cap's gloves so it returns instantly after being thrown, or can be instantly rendered useless if used against him.

And in Color:
Here are some quick color jobs of the helmet and body armor. I don't have time to throw some color on the pic of Cap but if anyone wants to take the liberty to do so then feel free.

I like the mask. It's the bodysuit that I have a problem with. But your mask, IMO, is impractical. The horns protrude so far that Kingpin or Tombstone could easily grab them, trapping DD, & f--- him up.

I don't like the wraparound cape on Black Panther; there's too many comparisons to Batman as it is.
I added the arms to make him look more Ant-like, plus I figured being a scientist he'd want an extra pair of hands around so he'd build some
I see what you're saying with the Batman comparisons, but I decided to go with styling his cape this way as it looked better than my other sketches... maybe I was inspired by Bats, just never really thought of it before

I was wondering if someone can give a new color scheme a shot for this Spider-Man pic. I wanted to try red where he's normally blue, black where he's normally red, and use red for the webbing. Any takers?

it's hard to tell the way that pic's done. normally the black wouldn't be flat black, and wouldn't just blend into the shadows of the red like it does in flats. it might not need different shades of red in that case. who knows.

Here are a few quick drawings.
They are sort of me trying to draw what these characters would look like on a X-Men live action TV series. Something like Buffy, Angel, or Smallville.
first:
Logan
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Logan.jpg
sort of based on this drawing,
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/garney_wolvy.jpg
only I gave him jeans. The idea is that this is like his favorite shirt instead of a costume.
next:
Sabretooth and Mr. Sinister
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/creedandessex.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/creed2.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/creed-1.jpg
It was sort of meant to be Sabretooth's costume made from real world clothing.
He wears a brown leather bomber jacket, with a wool collar. Only he has ripped the sleeves off. He wears jeans or leather biker pants, and boots. I drew gloves and wrist bands but I think he shouldn't have them.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/NathanEssex.jpg
Nathaniel Essex is different. He dresses more unusually. I thought it would be cool to see him dressed like this while other characters are dressed real worldish.

Thanks. Glad you liked them, especially Sabretooth.
Mr. Sinister is still a work in progress, thats if I ever get back to working on him.
Since it would be a live action TV show like Buffy, the characters would have different costume changes, different clothes to wear and not just one costume.
So Sinister would have a variety of different, but similar styled, outfits like the one pictured. Essex wears more outlandish outfits like that.
While Sabretooth doesn't realy care what he wears but he also doesn't really wash them or change his clothes too often either. So its safe to say that his clothes all look similar. Pants (jeans, leather pants) with a shirt or some sort, and his sleeveless jacket. He could have gloves or no gloves (fingerless) and maybe even have a bandanna.
Anyway, thanks.
I also have some X-Institue school uniforms I have been working on too (for the live action series). I'll post them soon.

Thank you so much, I am glad to get some input on my Juggernaut Designs. I was trying to design, realistically, what a TV series might make him look like while still trying to stay true to his classic look from the comics. It’s still in progress.
Here are some other pics,
I was trying to recreate the X-Men Uniforms, how a TV series might make them while still staying true to the classic uniforms of the comics. I came up with the idea that the uniforms are actually school uniforms and not costumes. So here are a few ideas, tell me which you think work best:
Here are the original uniforms. (For comparison)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/thxmen1stline-up.jpg
To start off, I changed the masks to hats
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/hatsandbucklesb.jpg
(of coarse they wouldn't wear them all the time, or most of the time.)
and here is their X-Men Belt Buckles
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/hatsandbucklesa.jpg
Artistsean
09-18-2008, 03:31 AM
I tried to redesign their costumes into school uniforms,
The yellow and blue became school colors, and instead of spandex or leather they wear regular fabrics.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets5a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets5b.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets6a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets6b-1.jpg

The last two are my school uniform renditions of the blue suited giant X-costumes.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets3a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets3b.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets2a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets2b.jpg
So these are the jackets. Tell me which you like, and which you don't. My thinking is, realistically, if Xavier started a school he wouldn't be able to make several different school uniforms. So let me know which you think works best, and Ill let you know which one I like best.
Artistsean
09-18-2008, 03:32 AM
Of coarse they don't always wear jackets, and even if they did they would need something under them. So here are some Xavier Institute shirt designs:
(Keep in mind, I wanted to keep the classic X-Men costumes in mind)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets5c.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets6c.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets2c.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets1c.jpg
This one was just some fun, really if they went out there to fight they would wear protective gear right?
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/bulletproofjacketandshirta.jpg
Artistsean
09-18-2008, 03:32 AM
Here are some more (short sleeved)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/bulletproofjacketandshirtb.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets1d.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets4.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets7d.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets6d.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/bulletproofjacketandshirt001.jpg
And the the ladies uniforms would be similarly styled, but for ladies.
Again, let me know what you think please. They would have the same styled long sleeve shirts, short sleeved shirts, jackets, pants, and hats. They would also have blue skirts and dresses.

As for Juggernaut, I had to keep his proportions realistic. Really his shoulders would be too thin for his massive helmet. Also he wouldn't be able to move his head really with many of the helmets he is drawn with. Maybe that's part of his character, his helmet holds his head in place and makes it strong but then he can't move it. So I was trying to design one for a movie or TV show that would work. I don't think you could get closer to the proportions from the comic than the Vinny Jones body, well maybe with a body builder like Ferigno (spelling?). I'll give it a try.
As for the X-Men uniforms. I was trying to design something that I could see kids in the real world wearing. Regular fabric clothing that would be colored yellow and blue with X-logos, but still looks like Kirby's classic X-Design. The costumes worked in the comics. But if X-Men was a live action show like Buffy, Angel, Smallville, and shows like that, they costumes would have to be different. I am glad you guys liked my school take.
My idea would be that the show would focus more on Xavier's Institute, instead of being a combat team. They do fight, but its usually because they are the only ones to stop it and they are dragged into it.
Their school uniforms would become less prominant when the more students like Colossus, Storm, and Wolverine joined.
I'd love to hear which designs worked best for you, and which didn't. Did you like the hats? Belt? which shirt? What could be improved on? Maybe I can work on them more.
Personally I liked the ones that were sort of a mock classic X-costume, the ones with blue collars and sleeves, and yellow torsoes.
What about these?
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets1ab.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/xshirtsandjackets1bb-1.jpg
I took away those seem lines (I just imagined they'd be gone, but now I actually erased them.) Does that improve them, or are they still not right?
Let me know please. I'd love to draw a final version, the entire first team (Scott, Hank, Jean, Bobby, and Warren) in their school uniforms.

As it stands, I'd like them to be just a little more distinctive; embroider an "X" logo onto the suit or something to that effect-right now it just looks like a jogging suit.

What I was trying to do with these two, above, was to recreate the originals. The original costumes didn't have any x symbols except for the belt. So I wanted to see what people thought of that. But I agree, without an X symbol its too plain.
Did you see the uniforms on the previous page? What do you think of those?

I like that one too. I would imagine that design might come in later on like Season three or something. I like them so much, its just that I was attempting to redesign Kirby's classic design. i like magneto's look.. but as for the X-men school uniforms... blah.. they'd look like dweebs wearing those helmets. I just don't see the school which is sooo big on diversity even having uniforms.. if anything they'd just have t-shirts like most colleges do. sure its a school, but it still has a college like atmosphere about it.
The only time ive even seen uniforms for x-students is just the "young recruits" kinda thing... which is usually black and yellow costumes based off of the 5 original x-men designs... the originals wore em, the new mutants wore them, and the young x-men wore a variation of them.

I really wasn't factoring in the helmets; they look like Captain America year one. I definitely wouldn't want them.
I do like the idea of the X-Men having some semblance of a team uniform, though. I feel like the rainbow costumes have gone too far. It would be different if they were just a bunch of individual solo heroes brought together by a crisis, like the Avengers or the Justice League. But they're not. They're not just a team-they're a family. They live together, work & play together-some of them even hook up. They're more of a police force or a military unit than your typical superheroes. They exist to protect innocent humans from overzealous mutants, & protect innocent mutants from overzealous humans. Their uniforms should reflect that, IMO.
Besides, half of them just seem to be wearing anything, regardless if it fits their name/theme or not.

Thanks for your input.
I idea I was going with was that the original five would wear them, Xavier would possibly use school uniforms to try and give his new students a feeling of belonging and that they are not alone. Since many of them being mutants had a feeling of being alone and different.
Eventually in Season Two, I would imagine, that the uniforms get phased out. Leaving only vague traces of them every now and then. (also sort of like the comics) They would sort of just wear more realistic clothes.
But one thing I wouldn't get rid of would be the Xavier "X" logo belt buckles.
At least thats what I was originally thinking. But more than a few could still wear things like the Xavier Institute Jackets, or shirts.
Those sketches above that I posted at 10pm (from my sketch book) were earlier designs. I eventually changed my mind and went with the more realistic clothing like shirts and jackets made of realistic looking fabric. The ones with the helmets were just me trying to make the masks work in the real world. I did use the Ultimate Captain America for that. But I eventually went a different way.
I am glad you guys liked the Magneto, but it wasn't entirely me. I sort of drew magneto wearing the House of M Red Guard's uniform. (the group Wolverine, Mystique, and rogue were part of.)
But it was a start of a different idea.
Thanks.

Well I agree to some extent, I think there should be definately something in the costumes that unite them together, and there usually always is, but some characters just dont fit into that mold (storm and emma for instance) But through time most x-men costumes do indeed have a common theme, in the original X-force, they all had the same style costume, just different colors, in the 80's/90's more then 50% of the x-men wore yellow and blue, in New X-men they all wore yellow and black with a ribbed pattern, in Astonishing they all wore yellow and navy blue/dark grey, and even now most of the x-men now wear a suit that has a similar leather pattern like cyclops... (aside from storm and emma (for the most part)) some it works, some it didnt, i hardly recognized Dazzler in last weeks uncanny in her new team uniform

I dunno, i could be biased because ive never been a fan of school uniforms, its probably the unique/artistic side of me, sure i know in places that have high gang violence it helps, but at a school with no inner problems, i dont see the point. Most mutants seem to have an artsy indy vibe about them anyway, i just don't see them wearing uniforms for class...

My line of thinking went that they are the X-Men. The X-Men in the comics have costume. But those costumes wouldn't transfer well into the real world. But Their costumes are more individual now, more like their clothing instead of costumes.
I also wanted to being Jack Kirby's original costumes to the real world. So instead of having them wear costumes, the originals would wear a school uniform.
The later students might not really, and the uniforms would eventually be phased out for the most part.
(the reason the originals wear them, in season one, is because Xavier is JUST starting his school. Phase One of his plan. But these students, he can tell, feel alone, isolated, like they are the only mutant on earth. The show starts when mutants first start appearing. So its a new thing to everyone. So he tries to help them feel part of a family, connected. So he uses uniforms.)
At least thats the excuse I came up with. I love the original Kirby costumes.

Except those are boring and limits mobility. If there was more individuality between the members and seemed more like plain cothes fabrics it would have worked fine.

Fabric wise probably, but I still feel like its so tight her heads gonna pop off. Theres a difference between form fitting and tight. Certainly, there was a difference between each costume but they did a better job of differentiating them in the comics.
For example, not exactly what I'd want but an example of how more creative they could have been capturing the individuals classic style/colors with a modern more team oriented design.

Fabric wise probably, but I still feel like its so tight her heads gonna pop off. Theres a difference between form fitting and tight. Certainly, there was a difference between each costume but they did a better job of differentiating them in the comics.
For example, not exactly what I'd want but an example of how more creative they could have been capturing the individuals classic style/colors with a modern more team oriented design.

the Three at the end: After his Beastly transformation. The next is when he shaves off all the hair, showing that its not his skin. And the last is a variation on color. I was thinking, being as fury as he is it would stand to reason that he wouldn't wear much clothing because of the heat. But It also is reasonable that the cost would be too much (Hellboy couldn't do it all the time and its a movie, this would be for a TV show.) So like the movie Beast wears a shirt and short pants.

Angel
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Iceman.png
Iceman, again if this was a TV show the cost to have him turn into ice or cover himself with ice would be too high. So I came up with the idea of having his skin turn pale and bluesh (like he was freezing to death) and then have snow form on his shoulders and on top of his head. And have his eyes glow bright blue, and his hands look icey. The last one is in case the show ever did have Bobby covered in snow or ice.

Notice in Season Two Wolverine and Thunderbird wear their regular, civilian clothes, instead of school uniforms. They only wear the Xavier Institute "X" logo belt buckle. I am thinking of having most of the X-Men in season two wear regular clothes. What do you think of that idea?

Your entitled to your opinion. The idea was to try and make costumes, or real clothes, using the classic X-Men costumes, that would be realistic in the real world today. Something that wouldn't look like yellow spandex or a goofy costume. Plus its more realistic and functional, in my opinion, to have Xavier have school uniforms instead of superhero costumes (in the real world anyway.)

In my idea, Xavier starts his Institute to make a safe place for mutants to go to school and to be a safe haven. Not a fighting team, but they time and time again get dragged into it. So originally their uniforms weren't for combat. (also the original costumes were that color.) (also the colors in the real world wouldn't be as bright, still yellow and blue, just not as bright as the computer makes them. Plus there would be shadows and what not from the real world that would effect the coloring.)
But you just gave me a good idea why they would end up phasing those yellow and blue uniforms out. Because they keep getting dragged into combat without warning and their uniforms aren't helping them. Nice idea.

I only have "Paint." I don't have any other programs, like Photoshop. I sort of agree with you guys. But really my only options are yellow, blue, mustardish color, and darker blue. (Only have a handful of color options.) But other than the bright colors, which I can't really change, what do you think of the rest?
I just used those colors because they were close enough.
Yellow and blue. (but I think a darker blue and a darker yellow might look better.)
Also, I don't know if I stated my idea.
Its a Live action TV series for the X-Men, done in the style of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, Heroes, or Angel. (So the budget would be similar)
In this idea I thought that instead of making the X-Men a team of superheroes to defend mutants and humans, and stop evil mutants and humans,
that Charles Xavier starts a school, "the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning," as a afe place for mutants to get an educations and feel safe.
He uses uniforms to help them feel connected and like a family. He never intended the school or its students to be a superhero fightinhg team. But time and time again they get dragged into battle either because they are attacked or are the only ones capable to stopping it.
But the focus of the school is teaching and providing a safe place.
(So thats why they have school uniforms instead of costumes or combat gear.)

Thanks, glad you like them. That was sort of the point anyway, the colors would be a shade of yellow and a shade of blue. But the idea was that this time the uniforms would be made of real fabrics, not like the leather costumes in the movie or the costumes in the comics. Made to look like real clothing, while trying not to loose any of the comic... essence, I guess.

He would be sort of more willing, happy to do so, wearing the traditional Xavier Institute shirt. Of coarse, like anyone else in the show, he would have a wardrobe and change his clothes regularly. So this isn't what he wears all the time, is what I am trying to say.
To look metal I thought he could wear like a skin tight metallic looking fabric, or a metal armor like in X3, and a combination with CG. to make it less expensive I guess.
He would also have gray contacts, and a helmet hair wig.

Isn't that interesting how they did colossus for the x3 movie?
Now I remember why I colored it the way I did.
I didn't want anyone to think that they were meant to be a leathery type material or made of black material with blue shine. I also wanted to show that the pants are like a kackie, school uniform, dress slacks, material and not jeans. Season two people wear jeans and what not. (and in season one the students don't always wear the uniforms, but the pants in Season One are like fancy dress slacks.)
I wanted people to understand that they are a blueish type color fabric material (like cotton). So thats why, I have dabbled a little, very little, with the color pallet but I normally don't use it since it takes so much time to get the colors right and I have bigger fish to fry (my comic portfolio and what not.)
But thanks, I had forgotten about the color pallet.
I am glad you guys like the designs, and the idea that they are realistc clothing.
Here is more of Season Two characters. (I am currently working on Season One's bad guys.) In the mean time here is:
Anna Marie/ Rogue
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Rogue21no.gifhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Rogueprelim.png
Like always I have included the version from the comics, but with Rogue there are so many versions. I picked this one for comparison and reference. She wear layers head to toe, to protect herself and others from her powers. She would be like the Rogue on X-Men Evolution. She doesn't fly or have super strength. She absorbs powers and has them for a limited time. (She starts out as a villain with the Brotherhood.)
This is where I got the idea for her wardrobe from:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/102116-100671-rogue_super.jpg
Shiro Yoshida/ Sunfire
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Sunfire-UncannyTheComingOfSunfire-S.gifhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/sunfire.png
I included the the original from the comic to compare and contrast and reference. He started out with his Uncle's Terrorist group during Season One, thats when the Xavier Institute Students met him. It wasn't until the death of his father that he changed his life around. He accepted Charles' invitation during Season two and joined. But left because he isn't a team player, and the death of team mate John Proudstar.
His eyes are redish, so the actor would normally wear red contacts. But when he is using his powers the the actor would then wear glowy contacts. Plus CG effects and what not.
Fred Dukes/ Blob
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/x_blob_rar.gifhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/FredDukes.png
I included the original comic version for compare and contrast and reference. He almost enroled at the Xavier Institute during Season One. But he was swoopt up by Magneto. I show him here in an Xavier Institute school uniform because he was a member for like a day. Also it might be cool to do an alternate reality episode where Fred actually became the leader of the X-Men.
(I hope you guys like them, let me know what you think. Even if you dislike them, thats fine. Just be nice about it, I am very sensative.
Anyway, I am currently working on other characters like Banshee, Magneto, and Nightcrawler.)
Let me know what you think.

Its meant to be made out of material like the costume in the movie. His helmet, maybe, could even be made out of metal and painted one color like the movie. (Only it should keep the elaborate decoration, he is meant to be a king of sorts right?)
I got the idea from this:

and this

Here are two more:
Pietro Maximoff/ Quicksilver
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Quicksilver-1.png http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Quicksilver.png
He wears a variety of clothing, like the other characters, but like the other characters their clothing is similar to the idea on Smallville. Their clothes hint at their comic book super hero costume. He wears lightning bolts and similar colors. (ideas like that.) He also wears clothing that helps in his running, like running shoes, pants, and shirts. But he doesn't always dress to run. As a character he is constantly moving, having trouble slowling down much less stopping.
Cane Marco/ Juggernaut
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/juggernaut2tm8gd-1.gif http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/juggernaut1.png
Juggernaut is a little difficult to handle. Is he magic like in the comics? Or is he a mutant? If he is a mutant then his clothing should be realistic, real material. (I think he wears coarse think material like burlap or denim.) He also wears heavy boots.
But if he is magic, then that opens up more options, his costume shouldn't look natural. But then that opens up the magic into the show. Adds something that might take it out of reality and maybe hurt the show.
I am thinking he should be a mutant.
On the show he is a man that stands at about 6 something- 7. He is taller than most of the cast. His costume would hopefully give him the ability to move his head and turn his heck while still looking like a bulky helmet like the comics. I may go back in and fix his wrists so that they don't look like Popeye's. He is supposed to be wearing leathery wrist bands.
I got the idea from this comic drawing from Identity Disc:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/identitydiscJ.jpg
Gives him room for his head and neck, is simple, but realistic.
Let me know what you think. About the designs, costumes, ideas, anything.

Ororo Monroe/ Storm
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Storm-Original-Spz.gif http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/storma.png
Posted with her original comic book costume for reference and comparison. I sort of designed her similar to her look on X-Men Evolution, although on this show she is younger. (About as young as Colossus, and by Season Two whatever age the original five students are.) Her eyes only turn white or very bright blue when using her powers like in the movie. But when she isn't using her powers they are regular eye color looking. They don't even have to be blue. They could be brown, that way when her eyes change its even more shocking. She is very Earthy I think, I think thats what her look is called. I could be wrong.
She also wears colors and clothing reminiscent or hinting at her comic book costumes. She first shows up in Season Two, but becomes a regular.
Please feel free to comment and remark and everything.
Thanks.
More to come soon, including Apocalypse (maybe) and Nightcrawler.

They're not actually supposed to be jeans. More like a loose light weight material. Some sort of pants that would help with running, but aren't track pants. Maybe slacks or something, I don't know. But I agree Jeans would hinder his speed.
Thanks for liking the track. It would also be something cool for stores to sell, I think. Quicksilver track suits:woot:

bud, hate to break it to you, but eh.. lol i highly doubt those track suits would sell well.. lol thats the hardest part.. the costumes need to be things that kids would actually wear too.. and not all the X-men are comic fans who typically have a different view of fashion at times.... so it'd really very.. it'd be interesting to see what a real costume department would come up with, something functional, trendy, realistic, and still reflect the comic counter part

I was halfway kidding. I was just thinking if some character would wear something that unique that the merchandising department would sell them, sort of a joke. It would be a fun prop though, not something I would buy either.
I think the shirts would sell though, a plain colored blue or green shirt with a white lightning bolt would probably sell. A Track Jacket might sell but not as much, a track suit even less. But the shirt would. But I am not a marketing guy.
What I am trying to do is show how the X-Men can transfer well into a live action TV series with minimal changes, and sometimes those designs would sell. I would buy some of the Xavier uniform clothing. I would buy the Quicksilver shirt.
Anyway, here are more of Quicksilver's wardrobe. Just to give more of an idea about what his clothing COULD look like. (not necessarily what it should.)

What do you guys think of the other characters? Like Storm, or Juggernaut?
What sort of clothing should Toad wear? Should he wear a jumpsuit? Or a shirt with a design from his original costume?
What about Scarlet Witch? What should her clothes be like? Like X-Men Evolution? Like Perez' gypsy look?

These Sentinels aren't giants. They are a little above average height.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Sentinelsexample.png
The Sentinels would first appear in Season One, and pop in now and again throughout the series as enemies.
The idea is that these are actually actors in costumes, (like Dr. Who's Cybermen.) So that the budget would be smaller. Then effects like the Sentinel's strength, and energy blasts from their hands would be added in. (Even at this size, a Sentinel smashing through a wall, blasting some mutants, maybe even leaving many dead [like the vampires in Buffy[ would still keep them seeming threatening and dangerous.)
Then the voice of each and every Sentinel would be provided by one voice actor and digitally altered to sound robotic.
Something like this (about Human Sized Sentinels) might only work for a TV series.
In the comics, originally, the Sentinels weren't that giant. They were big but not sky scraper size. See:

Hmm....I dig, very nice. But I think you could scale them up in later seasons to help visually illustrate the changing anti-mutant political climate. No reason to drop the human-sized ones, just have a big "watchdog" to coordinate them and stop any potential escapees.
Is there supposed to be a difference in each member of that row of Sentinels, or am I just blind?

I don't seem to have what most people might refer to as "artistic talent". I do have Hero Machine however.:yay:
I made The Punisher: Old West style.

That is very nice, Hero Machine is a good way to go. Especially since they keep updating it. Nice Old West Punisher. I could see him and Jonah Hex teaming up or something.

There is no difference. I was just showing (like in the very last Cybermen) what they might look like in mass.
I do like the idea of adding larger Sentinels later (like the comic) it would make sence and if the show was successful the budget could become bigger and allow for larger Sentinels.
Here more,
The Key Humans in the Anti Mutant Movements that starts during Season One (and continues):
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/KellyTraskCreed-1.png
Gradon Creed: Founder and Leader of the "Friends for Humanity"
Senator Kelly: political voice for the anti mutant movement
Bolivar Trask: Inventor (taking credit anyway) of the Sentinels
Reverend William Stryker: Religious voice in the Anti Mutant movement (constantly seen on TV preaching anti Mutant propaganda.
Trask and his Sentinels:http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/TraskandFriends.png
Father and Son:

We could have an episode where Graydon and Victor meet one on one, or something like that. (during Season three.)

Ah, gotcha. Good work on the mutie-haters. Have Gradon and Victor ever met? I don't read the x-books that closely, but it sounds like it would be an interesting conversation.

I don't know if they have ever met. I would imagine they have. I think that conversation would be very angry, violent, and possibly little talking. But I don't know. That would be an interesting story to read.
Here is one I have been working on.
He is another "villain" from Season One:
Calvin Montgomery Rankin/ Mimic
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/F7_xm29_mimic.gif http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Calvin.png
I have an idea how he would fit into the series. I always wanted them to use this idea.
Calvin was just an regular kid, that is until he got around the Xavier Institute students. He quickly developed all their powers.
Because mutants are a new thing and mass histeria is running rampid Calvin was convinced that the mutants had done this to him, turned him into one of them.
(I haven't developed the story that he would be featured in, just this idea.)
Calvin learns that he is a mutant, only he is a special type of mutant.
He is a mutant whose powers only manifest around others with powers. (there are some mutants who need an outside source to stimiluate their powers, like Black Tom with needing wood to project his powers or Bishop needing to absorb energy from another's powers, in order for them to use their own powers.)
Without these outside stimuli, like another mutant or wood, these mutants would never show any powers or signs of being a mutant.
So Calvin is the first one of these mutants to be revealed.
He is, sort of, a freak among freaks. And feels even more alone than when he was just a teenager, even more alone than when he thought he was just a regular mutant.
I am not sure how his story ends in this episode, but I think he somehow ends up in prison. (I would like to see Xavier reach out to him though, even though he attqacked him and his students.)
Not sure how expensive it might be to do Mimic on the show, I mean the effects just to show him grow in size from Beast's powers might be a lot of money or hard to do. Would they have the actor wear prosthetic muscles to make him look bigger or would they use a fake body for him being skinny? I am not sure. But it would be cool to see.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/futureMimic2b.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/futureMimic2bc.png
Future Calvin/ Mimic: I think it would be cool to have Calvin return later, broken out of prison by Mystique. After she looses Rogue (who was like her daughter but also her perfect weapon) she finds Calvin. She becomes a mother to him, and a trainer. She turns him into her new perfect weapon. (this episode featuring future Mimic would be sometime after Season Three, where Mystique first appears.)
She teaches him how to use his powers to their full potential. How to combined powers to make them work better. (Like using Quicksilver's speed, Colossus' unbreakable skin, and Blob's power, to become a human wrecking ball. He also absorbs many other powers like Wolverine's, Mystiques, Pyro's, Cyclops', Angel's, and others. She also has trained him to be able to hide those powers away too, like a library. So that he doesn't always show Angel's wings, or Colossus' metal skin. He can turn back to regular Calvin, and spring those powers when he needs them. And maybe thats how she gets him to join her.
This could also work as a "Future" episode, like how Heroes goes into the future from time to time. This X-men show could travel into a alternate reality future and we could see Calvin as a perfect weapon of Mystique's. Wearing all black, with a scar on his face, buzzed hair, and acting all gritty.
for some reason the picture keeps getting turned smaller, anyone know why?
And here is my idea for Toad, just an idea:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Toad-1.gif http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Toad-2.png http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Toad2-2.png
But I am not sold on this idea. Anyone else like it or have a better idea?

Design for Sean Cassidy Banshee, mostly for Season Two:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Banshee-UncannyTheDoomsmithScenario.gif http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y138/artistsean/Bansheeseasonone.png
Pictured here next to his comic bok appearence in order for you to be able to compare and contrast and reference.
Sean is briefly seen in Season One, one episode (two at most) as a terrorist (possibly along the lines of Magneto but not affiliated with Magneto) along with his cousin "Black" Tom Cassidy (who doesn't even really have a speaking part). However he is actually under cover. (Or should he be?) He later returns to become a regular cast member at the start of Season Two. He is older than the other students (like Colossus or Storm) so he transitions into teaching at the Institute. Sean sticks around a while, even falling in love with Moira McTaggert. He can eventually leave when he returns to Ireland to go back to working for their secret service agency.
Let me know what you guys think about all these, even my ideas.
