I thought you did a great job Ioan Fan! You just can't please some people! :p Lord Valumart....do you have a stalker? Webmistress, are you a friendly stalker or a scary stalker?!! Lord Valumart is one of the few male forum members who is still brave enough to venture into the fan-girl territory that is Ioan's thread here..... we don't want him scared off!!! :p
Kathy :)
here's the whole stroy:
i hit on her, we lost contact, we then regained contact, i put a price on her head, she dislikes me, i said the bloke who plays Anakin in ep 3 should die, she hats me more.

Anyway, back to Ioan.....here are a couple of interviews - the first from Sync magazine ("America's Gadget Guide") June/July 2005 issue, #7. (thanks to Jude and Teresa)
Mister Fantastic
Wee Welsh Actor Ioan Gruffudd Morphs Into a Mighty Man in Tights in This Summer's Fantastic Four
By John Mihaly"
Filling a superhero's tights is a stretch for any actor, and never more so than when he's pouring himself into the spandex tights of Mr. Fantastic, the Silly Putty-limbed team leader of the Fantastic Four. But Ioan Gruffudd (pronounced "YO-an Griffith") - most recently seen as Lancelot in last summer's King Arthur, sharing screen time and meaningful glances with Keira Knightly - is prepared: "I'm expecting kids to start pulling my arms, " he says. The Welsh actor beat out the likes of George Clooney and Brendan Fraser for the role, endured long, physical days in a sweaty costume and put up with the obvious jokes about the contents of his codpiece. (Gruffudd replies to the jibe, "Does everything on Mr. Fantastic stretch?" With a sly, "There's no need for stretching there.") The reward? Make-out moments with luscious Jessica Alba, who plays Susan storm, aka Invisible Woman.
"It was great fun to shoot those scenes with Jessica, but then I'd have to redo it for the visual effects camera without her there," Gruffudd says. "The snickering crew watched me passionately kiss the air."
As the "smart one" from the classic Marvel Comics series, Mr. Fantastic would have no trouble with today's high-tech toys. But the mild-mannered 31-year-old Gruffudd isn't quite so gizmo-savvy. "When I buy something, I sit down and read the book that comes with it," he says. "I'm a bit anal in the sense that I want to get to know something properly before I use it. But when I set up my TiVo, I was so excited to have it that I didn't set it up the right way." Still, Gruffudd owns an iPod, albeit the "look at me" black-and-red U2 version. "It matches the interior of my Jaguar," he sheepishly explains.
Gruffudd may need to tint his Jag's windows, as FF will vault him into Hugh Jackman-esque action-figure status. And when you bump into him, do act impressed - even if he can't reach the top shelf for you. "I'm sure that people will be very disappointed if they meet me," Gruffudd says. "I get a lot of 'You're much shorter than I thought you'd be!'"
There's also one on the ICWales website:
http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0200wales/tm_objectid=15594082&method=full&siteid=50082&headline=ioan--i-m-california-dreaming-name_page.html
I thought this bit was very cute!!
"It's incredibly exciting to see myself up on the posters, that's something that I've only dreamed of and now it's becoming reality. But a poster is here today, gone tomorrow so I'm enjoying it while it's there, running out and taking pictures of myself!"
Kathy :)

Thanks for the articles Another Ioan Fan. Sounds like he is preparing for fame this time out. It was a real thrill for me to walk in to the theater yesteday and see that Mr Fantastic banner hanging there! It must be a real kick for him, since he has dreamed of this for so long.

"I can ballet dance, although i don't like"
But the results are spectacular,as the similarly reluctant Gruffudd noted, specially if you add padding!-Take the Fantastic four example and persevere, lord Valumart. Even DOOM went super disco fashion, if swan lake doesnt convince you.

Personally, I his hair in Hornblower and/or King Arthur. If he's not going to wear it like that, he might as well wear it any way he wants. The heck with him, he never asks my opinion on such stuff. See if I care.
I like the dishevelled look here much better, as well. Because the outfit he's dishevelling is very simple. Black and white. It works. Naturally, he never asks me about his wardrobe either, because that's the kind of stuck up guy he seems to be.
Mrs. F.
/to show my disgust at his attitude, I no longer ask him what he thinks I should wear to work -- I know it's bugging him, deep down

Yes, but it wasn't a good change. The minimalism of black and white allows his casual elegance to shine in the female slaying manner to which we've become accustomed. There's no point in appearing in public looking like you picked your outfit at random out of the clothes dryer, when you can make an simple, classy appearance that causes ovaries to explode from sheer joy.

Aaahh, great pictures Ioan Fan. It's a pity that we probably won't get to see him in a Hornblower uniform again. These pictures are nice to remember him as that great character, he was born to play. Hopefully we will feel the same about Reed Richards!

"Dear God, why haven't I STILL seen Horatio Hornblower yet? "
I will forever thank my luck I knew of the previous Gregory Peck film and adored it, so that I decided to" import" one vhs of "that series" from Britain, just to give it a try-Spain is not the country which would naturally show movies of the Sharpe or Hornblowers type, and it hasnt. And there it was, the Examination for lieutenat( I even didnt know the order) and sweet, impossibly beautiful young Ioan in all his glowing glory
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/morgun/horn28.jpg
Oh well, if they dont make more movies, which would be a shame, at least we got to see him growing up with the character and becoming almost a captain. One epaulette is better than none.

However, I have officially given up on there being any new ones. It's just easier to live that way.
I stand ready to embrace the similarly brilliant, socially inept, and big hearted Dr. Richards in his stead. :)

Anyway, just letting the Ioan fans here who live in the US that Ioan will be in a show called "Class of 2006" on the Biography Channel on Monday 13th June at 10.00 pm.

CELEBRITY ALTERNATIVE: Wow, imagine this - celebs who get attention not with weird romances or bad behavior, but (no way!) actual talent. "Class of '06: Stars on the Verge" (Monday at 10 p.m., Biography) focuses on such worthies as "Horatio Hornblower's" Ioan Gruffudd, "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell, "The O.C.'s" Nicholas Gonzalez and "Ray's" Kerry Washington. More at www.biographychannel.com (http://www.biographychannel.com/) /classofxx.

Just got done watching this show. It repeats a few more times. Ioan was wonderful and looked and sounded "fantastic". The also showcased Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, and Michael Chiklis!
There were different clips shown of "FF" for each of them as well as still pics showing them in other roles. They showed several from "Horatio Hornblower" for Ioan. They spent about two minutes talking but no "one on one" interviewer was shown, just the editor of the magazine speaking and narrating each one.
Ioan was funny with his answer when asked what would have to occur in order for him to be able to say he finally reached the top. He answered: "appearing on Oprah"!! LOL!!!
Hopefully I'll be able to put a link up to our ioanonline site to view a video clip of it. The gal that always does them for our site was supposedly going to do one for this. I'll post again if that happens.

All the contrary, Mrs Richards:oo -what Iīm doing with my silly scannings is giving away the fact that I had gone completely old school with my comics and that I woudnt be so keen on seeing the movie if certain Welsh beauty were not in it and a certain George Clooney was in his place. from what i read in the novel Sue says it first and Reed does not believe her until Johnny snaps her fingers and the fire appears and then Reed says that.

And of course, it was Lynnīs scan from Ioanonline (here in Spain the movie opnes later and there are not traces from the officcial magazine). Only the lateness of the hour and the mental shock I usually get when I try to read the Internet Movie Database FF forum prevented me from giving the credit where it was due. I wasnt inn my senses, literally. I tought the pic was ad hoc to make a comics to film comparison, this time with the theme "Reedīs neuroses about the Thingīs condition and what Sue has to stand, poor woman" and I even forgot to make it.

one of you flirt while the other grabs the standee and legs it out the theater, if he trys to chase the other, the one talking to him flirts more and lowers her top slightly more. thus one of you is in jail and the other has a FF standee....wait, it went wrong some where?

Hi all,
First time poster, but I've been having so much fun reading this thread (as well as the Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic thread :) ) that you pulled me out of lurkdom. I'm a fellow Ioan fan, ever since I stumbled onto the Hornblower series a few months ago. Ioan is incredible in that, and in everything else I've since watched him in. (And if anyone hasn't yet seen Hornblower, stop EVERYTHING and go find it. Today) He's gorgeous, a fantastic actor, a thoroughly gracious and decent bloke. And did I mention gorgeous? I can't figure out why he's not HUGE in the States yet. If this reviewer on imdb.com is right, he hopefully will be soon:
"Ioan Gruffudd is a brilliant actor he surely is going to have a huge career in Hollywood after this. He managed to bring the same quiet authority and dignity to the character of Reed Richards while showing the audience just why he's the FF's leader, something all the FF comic book fans are familiar with."
So, get ready for lots more traffic here after July! Here's to our favorite Welshman!

Just go to any of the several free pic hosting sites that are out there and set up an account. I use http://photobucket.com/ or http://www.imageshack.us/
Once you're set up then all you do is use the "browse" feature and pull up any pics you want from your hardrive (files). It'll load it (them) to an album, then all you have to do is "copy" the url that they assign to the pic(s) and then come here and "paste" it in on the bar that is asking for the url. It'll then appear in your post!

Wow, Ioan Fan, would you recommend Horatio Hornblower as a good TV show? *proceeds to drool over pic*
I'm not Ioan-Fan, but I have to jump in here. The Horatio Hornblower series is fantastic! They've done three series total, from 1999 to 2003, for a combined eight 2-hour movies. Though made for TV, they're better than the vast majority of feature films out there. Watch one and you'll be hooked, both on the series and on Ioan. But they're hard to find at the local video store. I found them at local libraries and through Netflix, then loved them so much that I bought all the DVDs.
Get them now to while away the week before F4!

Here's all of the projects he's been in (list courtesy of ioaonline filmography page).
Some are not accessible to get a hold of due to the fact that they are either UK or Welsh TV productions (all of us true Ioanites have every one anyway.....we have our means  ).
They are only available on VCD (region free) or in different DVD regions or PAL VHS formats. This means they are viewable only if you have a region free DVD player or PAL VHS player.
There are a good amount, though, that you can rent or buy on VHS or DVD. Amazon.com and Ebay have listings for sale/bid.

Technically yes he has a girlfriend, but he's not married to her. If they break up there would be no divorce case to mess with. They can pretty much leave each other when its over. So in my book he is single.

Not so strong that he's actually bothered to marry The Girlfriend after 4 years. This = single! Go for it JulianM.Fan! Wait, what am I saying? Out of my way, JulianM.Fan! ;)

I totally agree with you Mrs. F. After four years, what is he waiting for? Ioan said time and again he wants a wife and lots of children. What does he want? Tom Cruise's salary? It would take years for him to get that far and Alice is not getting any younger while I can wait for ten years since I happen to be nine years younger than her.
