Hello Hypesters:

Kenny Eugene McCall here with an upcoming new series fanfic idea from SHH! Presents...

2005 is almost upon us, and even though you're enjoying Marvel Spotlight in the Marvel Films forum, how many of you are watching Justice League Unlimited on Cartoon Network?

Even though this augumented version of JL is pretty good, there are some episodes that need improvement. And it could be much better with the show returning to its hour format, which would be nice for fans of the show.

So I came up with a very slick idea to improve the Justice League series the way it should have been: give all those heroes that were spotlighted in the first and subsequent episodes of Justice League Unlimited their own damn showcase series, while preserving the integrity of the original Big Seven of the Justice League.

I call this series...

DC Animated Showcase

Join your host, J'Onn J'Onzz, the Martian Manhunter, as he present solo episodes featuring some of your favorite (and not so favorite) DC Comics characters, and maybe some Bruce Timm pics to go with those episodes, too!

The fun begins January 15th 2005! :batman:

Okay Hypesters, Listen Up!

Just like in Marvel Spotlight, What DC characters would you like to see get their own Showcase episode(s) (This includes anyone in the original Justice League run of the show except for Superman and Batman)?

Kenny

A more mature version of the Teen Titans (not sure if it would work, since most of the characters haven't been used in the Timm/Dini unverse you're using, but, one can ask, eh?)
The Bat-Family (Bats, Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl)

GL-Corps#28
12-14-2004, 10:13 PM
In no certain order...
Steel
Plastic-Man
Different Eras of the JLA (Giffen-Dematteis, Morrison, Satellite, Current)
The entire Bat-Family
Each member or the Bat-Family seperate or paired off.
Kyle Rayner (!)
The Green Lantern Corps
Ollie Queen / Connor Hawke / Roy Harper
The JSA

Dudes:

Nightwing definitely needs his own spotlight arc, period!
It's about damn time that the Justice Society, not the Justice Guild, get theirs!
Black Canary, Huntress and Batgirl need their episode!

Others:

Blue Beetle and Booster Gold
The Gray Ghost
The Ultimen
Wildcat (both Ted Grant and Yolanda Montez versions)
The Atom and Atom Smasher team up.
Fire and Ice vs. Volcana and Killer Frost
Vigilante (Adrian Chase) vs the Suicide Squad!
Flash and his Rogues Gallery

Keep the ideas coming gang!

Anarky. Taking on the government, and by extension, The Justice League. If you're actually doing episode scripts or synopsises, I'd be interested in writing that one.

I'm doing episode synopses Guard, DarkKnightJRK. But if you want to come in and do some bangin' scripts on my series, go right on ahead guys, I would love to see what you've got!

I would appreciate it very much!

Does it have to be a SCRIPT? Because I'm not really good at script-writing.

I'd like to see Episodes featuring indivdually....
1.) Nightwing ( Nightwing is one of DC's best properties that hasn't got the big push he needs)
2.) The Question ( my favorate character in JLU)
3.) Dr. Fate
4.) The Flash
5.) Green Arrow
6.) Green Lantern
7.) Black Canary
8.) The Atom
9.) Aquaman
10.) Captain Marvel ( Although Timm doesn't like CM- I would)

The Ceb-man!

Babs Gordon
12-19-2004, 09:36 PM
Can I third the Nightwing thing? He REALLY needs his own show. Nightwing TAS. Forget just one episode ;)

I'd love to see a Birds of Prey episode with Huntress, Black Canary and Oracle (guest appearances by Ollie, Ted Kord, Dick Grayson are possible)

The Flash definitely needs his own episode.

Babs Gordon
12-19-2004, 09:37 PM
I could probably write a birds of prey one. I'm not sure how this whole thing works yet though... do we just write a script?

Kenny Eugene McCall
12-19-2004, 09:54 PM
Babs Gordon, this is a short episode synopsis fanfic. Just like in Marvel Spotlight, each DC character gets a five-episode spotlight mini-series, with the option of being spun off into their own full series.

Think of it as a weekday series where one DC hero gets his own week of episodes before being spun off into his own Saturday morning series on the WB or Cartoon Network.

Kenny Eugene McCall
12-19-2004, 10:01 PM
Babs, since you volunteered for both Birds of Prey and Nightwing, you can work with me on the Nightwing spinoff after his five-episode stint. As for BoP, I'll write alternating seasons after you spin off the Birds into their own series.

Kenny.

OKAY FOLKS!!!! Since I can't wait any longer, I'm going to give you DC fans a couple of sneak previews of our DC Animated Showcase series, which will premiere officially on January 3rd!

This sneak preview features the Leaguers that really need their own showcase shows done right! No need for production info here for now.

Episode One: DC Showcase: J'onn J'onzz, Manhunter from Mars

J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter (Carl Lumbly) gets his first real showcase episode, as he is being interviewed by an inquisitive Garfield Logan (Greg Cipes) of Young Justice at his home in Opal City. Thrill to the real story of the alien being who would become the most interesting and often-ignored heroes in the DC pantheon! From his relationship with his family to the brutal war with the mysterious invaders that led to his 500-year sleep and subsequent arrival on Earth in the JL ep "Secret Origins," It's the shapeshifting green man from Mars' time in the spotlight in this special sneak-preview episode!

Episode Two: DC Showcase: Flash, The Fastest Man Alive!

Taking certain liberties with the often-confusing Flash origin, this is the story of a young man named Wallace "Wally" West (Michael Rosenbaum), who at age 13 was visiting his uncle, crime scene investigator Barry Allen (John Wesley Shipp), in Central City when he accidentally engulfed himself in some mysterious chemicals. But, the reaction to the chemicals opened a gateway into the Speed Force, which gave him the power of superhuman speed! Thus, the true story of the Flash is born, as told to his brother Bart (Matt Valencia) by Wally himself!

Episode Three: DC Showcase: The Legacy of the Green Lantern Corps

From Abin Sur to Kyle Rayner, Guest writer and executive producer of DCUAnimated's Green Lantern animated series, Kryptcom, thrills us to one of his Green Lantern series from his website! Plus, my own take on a Green Lantern story featuring the possible future of a girl named Jenna Shayera Stewart (Christina Milian), the daughter of John and Shayera Hol Stewart! Now, that's a Elseworlds story if there ever was one!

Episode Four: DC Showcase: Wonder Woman - The Veronica Cale Affair

Since her origin was pretty much told in the original run of Justice League, we're giving Diana (Susan Eisenberg) a first-rate solo Showcase episode, as she must deal with a powerful new businesswoman named Veronica Cale (Lynda Carter)! And she has assembled an army of skilled assassins and female metahumans with one goal in mind: Defeat Wonder Woman at all costs!

Episode Five: DC Showcase: Green Arrow: Brick House!

In a story ripped out of the current comics continuity and set before he joined the Justice League, Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow (Kin Shriner), finds himself dealing with a dangerous new crimelord named Brick (Lance Henriksen), a metahuman so powerful he could rip even Blockbuster to shreds! And when Brick looks to take control of Star City by assassinating its mayor, this dirtbag better be the one saying "Ahhh!" when Green Arrow gets finished with him!

Techno Bat, I'm going to do something a little different, and start the series in the same thread. There is no need for a new thread in 2005. Check back with this thread for the start of the series.

Also, like in Marvel Spotlight, each character gets five episodes each, with a special segment called "The Brave and the Bold" appearing every fifth segment! So look for it!

Let's get a Suicide Squad series going! :D

The roster I'd like to see would have Killer Frost, Deadshot, Solomon Grundy, Parasite, Major Force, and maybe Clayface.

I'm not sure if it would be too appropriate for kids though. Especially with the word "suicide" in the very title. Meh, whatever.

Segment 3: The New Green Arrow Adventures
(a new series featuring Green Arrow, Arsenal, Connor Hawke and Arrowette)

Voice Cast:

Oliver Queen/Green Arrow: Kin Shriner
Roy Harper/Arsenal: Barry Watson
Connor Hawke/Speedy: Scott Menville*
Cissie King/Arrowette: Mackenzie Rosman

*Note: Because of special circumstances concerning Speedy's appearance in the Teen Titans animated series, I have given the codename of Speedy to Connor Hawke.

Episode One: Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters

This episode is a special adaptation of the DC Comics graphic novel, The Longbow Hunters, where GA must deal with what could be the perfect match for the archer in Shado (Zhang Ziyi), the Yakuza's most dangerous assassin yet, and one who is a more deadlier shot than even Ollie himself, while our hero is on the trail of one of Star City's most dangerous drug dealers in Japan.

Episode Two: Arsenal: Payback!

When a young 16-year-old streetwalker is sexually assaulted by her pimp, the girl's parents seek the help of Arsenal to avenge their daughter. But when the pimp's trail leads right straight into Bludhaven, and to the super-strong crime boss Blockbuster, Roy's gonna need the help of his old friend Nightwing (Loren Lester) to give this creep, and Blockbuster, the worst kind of payback in history!

Episode Three: Connor Hawke: Speedy

There's a new kid in the Green Arrow legacy, as we are introduced to a hotshot young archer named Connor Hawke, who's making his first appearance at the all-new Young Justice Academy, thanks to Green Arrow, who just adopted him! But, will this new Speedy be able to cut it when he has to face his new instructor Nightwing, not to mention having to deal with the psychotic ex-warden Lock-Up, in this mini-sequel to the JLU ep "Initiation!"

Episode Four: Arrowette: Rumble Roses

Cissie King gets her very first solo episode, where she teams up with old classmate Rose Forrest (Christy Romano) to take on Poison Ivy's new Black Rose Gang, who made their appearance in the Flash's mini-series! But, even if the two heroines go through Lily, Violet, Willow and Clover, are they really ready for their old teacher, Poison Ivy (Diane Pershing) herself, in her brand-spanking new Flora Lounge?

Episode Five: Team Arrow Bullseye Theater

Similar to Miguzi's Wheel of Gooz episodes, Green Arrow himself will shoot his arrow into a special target board that features the four members of Team Arrow that will be given a second-chance showcase on Friday. If he shoots into the bullseye of the board, then it becomes a Team Arrow episode! This should be fun.

Worse yet, Supergirl must help the Winx Girls and Miss Fairigonda deal with the D-Man's Female Furies: Lashina, Stompa and Mad Harriet, who have inexplicably freed Icy, Darcy and Stormy from that other realm AND put the three witches in the service of Granny Goodness, who has brutally taken over Cloud Tower for Darkseid! Can everybody involved deal with not only Darkseid, Kalibak, the Furies and the Trix, but a massive army of Parademons looking to take out Superman and Supergirl - and Magix - in the process? Man, Bruce Timm's got a tough job trying to translate the Winx Club into the DC Animated style ahead of him in this wild one!

Catgirl/Yolanda Grant: Michelle Rodriguez

Episode One: Kendra

In this first episode in this new series, Shayera's got a problem, as she and her friend Kori must take in a brand-new student by the name of Kendra Saunders (Keri Russell), a girl obsessed with her idol, Shayera Hol! Kendra even goes so far as to model her new costume after her idol's! But, is she ready for the big time when the new Hawkgirl must prove herself in combat with her new Thanagarian mentor?

Episode Two: Chicks of Prey

Whoa Mama! Get ready for a wild new take on "Birds of Prey" when Stephanie decides to form her own school clique based on the exploits of their favorite teachers Barbara Gordon and Helena Bertinelli, and Dinah Lynn's big sister Black Canary! But, can these new "Chicks of Prey" - Spoiler, Blue Canary, Arrowette and Catgirl - be able to cut it when they end up joining Green Arrow and Nightwing in rescuing the Birds of Prey from the criminal organization called the 1,000 in this interesting adventure!

Episode Three: Black Vulcan, Blue Thunder

If we can just forget about that Black Lightning wannabe Juice for a while, I would like to introduce you to an electrifying new teenage superheroine on the horizon by the name of Black Vulcan (Gabrielle Union)! But if you think she's hot, wait until you meet her sister, Blue Thunder (Natina Reed)! But, there's one thing you should know about Joanna and Anissa Pierce: they're the daughters of Jefferson Pierce (Avery Brooks), the hero known as Black Lightning, and he's about to join the Justice League! Speaking of which...

Episode Four: Thunder, Lightning, Static!!!

Remember Joanna and Anissa Pierce, the two sexy sisters from the last episode? They're about to be reunited with a certain similarly-powered superhero in their cousin, Virgil Hawkins (Phil Lamarr), the hero known as Static, as he makes his first appearance at Young Justice Academy as a student. But, if he thinks that dealing with his own father and sister was a challenge, wait until he has to deal with both his cousins and their father, who is about to join the school's faculty in this awesome episode!

Episode Five: Trick Shots!

It's Advanced Trick Shooting class at YJ Academy today, and Oliver Queen (Kin Shriner) and Roy Harper are your instructors! And, that does not sit well with either Connor Hawke or Cissie King (Soleil Moon-Frye), who have to be in the class with the original archer duo! But, when a murderous rival archer named Merlynn (Alexis Denisof) crashes the school and outshoots both Green Arrow and Arsenal, not to mention holding the other students in their class hostage, it will be up to Speedy and Arrowette to use their archery skills to bring Merlynn and the League of Assassins down for the count before it's too late!

Segment 14: Hawkwoman and Starfire: Hard-Traveling Heroines
(Nothing's finer than two tough alien chicks fighting crime in this new original DC series!)

Voice Cast:

Shayera Hol/Hawkwoman: Maria Canals
Koriand'r/Kori Anders/Starfire: Venus Terzo
Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl: Keri Russell

Episode One: Strange Bedfellows

Hey, it's the first episode of this new series, and it's been some time since the events of JL's "Starcrossed" and YJ's "From Thanagar to Tamaran With Love," where Shayera Hol first ran into her Tamaranian counterpart, Kori Anders, and we find the two women now roommates in a swank-ass apartment in Gateway City. They share a lot of things in common, including the fact that they got a bunch of Gordanian bounty hunters looking to cause trouble for Earth unless Shayera and Kori can send these jokers packing back to their home planet in this first adventure together!

Episode Two: Flora and Fauna

What happens when you bring together Dr. Pamela Isley (Diane Pershing), a botanist, and Dr. Barbara Minerva (Sheryl Lee Ralph), a biologist, and put them in the same episode with a Thanagarian and a Tamaranian? Really freaky stuff happens, as Hawkwoman and Starfire must deal with Poison Ivy and the Cheetah when they launch an army of animal/plant monsters upon Gateway City in this fun little adventure!

Episode Three: Of Birdmen and Hawkwomen

Birdman (David James Elliott) guest stars, as he and his nephew, Robbie (Frankie Muniz), take a visit to Gateway City and run into both Shayera and Kendra, who are at Murakami Stadium for the Gateway City Gators football game! Hijinks ensue as Shayera finds herself attracted to the hunky superhero attorney, while Birdboy tries to get him some with the new Hawkgirl! But, when a murderous new version of the B-man's classic nemesis, Reducto (Andy Hallett), starts shrinking the entire populace, our four avian heroes must bring this creep down and return the people back to normal size pronto!

Episode Four: Swan Dive

Yo, it's Advanced Winged Combat Day at Young Justice Academy in this two-part crossover ep with Young Justice Unlimited, and guess what jabronis, Shayera Hol is your f'n instructor! But this story has a lot to do with Shayera trying to reach out to a shy Valerie Beaudry, whose self-esteem gets shattered by a snarky-ass new student by the name of Emilia (Lia) Briggs (Erica Durance), a self-styled diva of a model who thinks she's better than everyone else, and that doesn't sit well with either Shayera or Kori, who join forces with Mari McCabe (Gina Torres) to find out what hold does this new "Looker" have on the boys of the school! But, when Lia uses her powers against both Hawkwoman and Vixen, it may be up to Starfire and Silver Swan to put an end to Looker's shenanigans and for Star to help Val get over her shyness in this new take on the "Ugly Duckling/Beautiful Swan" theory!

Episode Five: Katar Hol: Hawkman Unchained

Shayera is about to get the shock of her life when she and Kori discover a small Thanagarian vessel that crash-landed outside Gateway Park, only to find a very special passenger on board: Katar Hol (Benjamin Bratt), Shayera's twin brother, who just escaped Thanagar with his life after being framed for a crime he didn't commit! But, when Shayera joins forces with her brother Katar to clear his name, they, and Starfire, find out that this Winx job is the work of none other than Starfire's older sister Blackfire (Catherine Disher), who is in league with a ruthless Thanagarian warlord named Onimar Synn (Alan Rickman), who is looking to become the next ruler of Thanagar - with Blackfire as his queen! It's the debut of Hawkman in this thrilling episode!

Yo Ken! You Have Been Kickin' *ss With The Showcase, But I Have Two Queestions: 1. Where Are The Gl Corps Showcases? 2. Are These Going To Be Legitly Published Or This Is Your Bid To Get Warner Bros. Thinking Of This Format? Bottom Line I Like This, Especially The Nightwing And Flash Episodes.

I'm glad you asked that question GLBatFan, The Green Lantern Corps makes their first appearance in Segment 18, replacing Legion of Superheroes, which will be moved to Segment 23, after Flash's return appearance.

I like doing this, especially when it gives me a chance to piss Warner Brothers off for screwing our established animated continuity. But I may pull a fast one in the future and save Bruce Timm's spot in the DC Animated Universe by giving him some of my ideas.

The Justice League was great before it went "unlimited." Too many characters drifted attention away from focus on key characters, their development and audience embracement. I mean can't 1000 superheroes just put the villains to rest? They are just too many. I am not watching anymore. My fave episodes were the ones were Batman's relationship with Superman and Wonder Woman were highlighted. They should just do a Trinity Cartoon or go back to the seven main ones. I am sure they could write awesome stories between Wonder Woman and Batman facing off against the Joker and even Wondie's mythological background. The possibilities are huge!

Kenny Eugene McCall
04-17-2005, 06:00 PM
I couldn't agree with you more Aethea. It is because of Cartoon Network's stupid and asinine 52-episode rule that Justice League could not be continued with the original seven members. In my opinion, the producers of Justice League should have never split the episodes of JL into two parts and just did 52 one-hour episodes proper, preferably without the commercials!

Anyway, they should have just done a Wonder Woman series after the Superman series ended, that would have set the stage for Justice League later on. That would be the idea I would have presented to them in 1998.

Segment 17: GLC: The Animated Series
(A brand-new series about the Green Lantern Corps)

Voice Cast:

Hal Jordan/Green Lantern I: Richard Dean Anderson
Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern II: Jason Marsden
John Stewart/Green Lantern III: Phil Lamarr
Guy Gardner: Henry Rollins
Kilowog: Dennis Haysbert
Katma Tui: Kim Mai Guest
Jennie-Lynn Hayden/Jade: Meghan Black
Sinestro: Powers Boothe
Star Sapphire: Olivia D'Abo

(Note: There is a Green Lantern Animated Series fanfic being done at DCUAnimated. This is its modern-day update on the original created exclusively for Superhero Hype!)

Episode One: Hal Jordan: Emerald Knight

This first episode centers on the very first modern Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. He is an Air Force test pilot with a cushy job at Ferris Aircraft and a sexy girlfriend in Carol Ferris to boot! But, Hal's life is about to change when he is mysteriously summoned to a damaged spacecraft by a Green Lantern named Abin Sur, who grants him the use of an amazing ring giving him the power to become Earth's first Green Lantern! Plus, witness the first meeting between Jordan and a ten-year-old Kyle Rayner at an air show in this episode!

Episode Two: Kyle Rayner: In Brightest Day

This is the Director's Cut rebroadcast of the Superman animated series episode with Kyle as GL. Superman (George Newburn) guest stars as it is ten years later, and Kyle comes into possession of the Lantern ring. But, a power-mad ex-Green Lantern named Sinestro arrives on Eartn to search for the Central Power Battery, and the new GL and Superman must stop him at all costs!

Episode Three: John Stewart: In Blackest Night

In this Director's Cut rebroadcast of the Justice League episode of the same name, as the League must find a way to help John Stewart, the current GL, clear his name on a trumped-up charge of destroying a whole planet set up by the Manhunters, who are looking to overthrow the Guardians of Oa!

Episode Four: Katma Tui/Jennie Lynn Hayden: Sapphire and Jade!

This original episode features Katma Tui, as she takes in a young female Green Lantern neophyte named Jade for training on Oa. But, Kat and Jennie-Lynn find themselves tangling with the crazed Star Sapphire, who is looking to acquire a rare sapphire gem for use in a powerful rail gun, unless the two of them can stop her on Earth!

Episode Five: Kilowog: The Lantern and the Starlet

Flash (Michael Rosenbaum) guest stars, along with Vivica A. Fox, casting director Joseph Middleton and legendary actress Faye Dunaway as the latter three lend their voices to this episode where during a battle with Sinestro on Earth, Flash and Kilowog end up right in the middle of the events of the WB reality series "The Starlet" in Hollywood! Worse yet, our two heroes find themselves going ga-ga over some of the potential starlets in the middle of the screen test for Garnier Fructis shampoo! But, when Sinestro kidnaps the girls and traps them inside one of his evil constructs, it is Faye Dunaway to the damn rescue as she joins Kilowog and the Scarlet Speedster in rescuing the contestants and giving Sinestro the old "Don't call us, we'll call you" speech as the villain's ass is handed to him in this hilarious episode

There's something amiss in the Seven Seas when Aquaman starts getting his freak on with a beautiful woman named Vassa (Marina Sirtis) at the royal palace while his wife Mera is away in Poseidonis visiting her sister and family. But, this is no ordinary mermaid the king is messing with, for this is none other than the evil Sorceress of the Seven Seas, who has bewitched him into turning over the Atlantean throne over to her! And it may be up to a returning Mera to deal with her bewitching new rival for her husband's affections in this sexy little undersea tale!

Episode Sixteen: Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E.: Project: Frankenstein

With apologies to the famed Batman voice actor of the same name, Courtney Whitmore (Adrienne Frantz) and the giant robot S.T.R.I.P.E. are at S.T.A.R. Labs testing out a new weapons system for the league when they meet up with a hunky young scientist named Kevin "Buzz" Conroy (Rino Romano), who is just putting the finishing touches on the second version of the robot to be called "Big Frankie." But, what Courtney doesn't know, is that this "Big Frankie" is the nickname for one of the H-B Universe's most titanic superheroes! And when the murderous Defendroid Atlas (Keith David) launches an assault on S.T.A.R. Labs, it'll be up to Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E., and Buzz and Frankenstein Junior to put the kibosh on Atlas' latest plans before it's too late!

Episode Seventeen: John Constantine, Hellblazer: The Search for Natasha Halliwell

That British motherlover John Constantine (James Marsters) gets his very first Showcase episode ever, in a story loosely based on real-life ongoing events. Episode Eighteen: Robin/Nightwing: The Dukes of Bludhaven

To honor the release of the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard movie, Catherine Bach reprises her role as an age-appropriate Daisy Duke-Strate in this DC Universe adventure where she requires the assistance of the superheroes Nightwing (Loren Lester) and Robin (Matthew Valencia) when her husband, Enos (Sonny Shroyer) turns up missing while helping King Faraday on a case involving the albino crimelord Stephen Mondragora in Bludhaven. But it's Robin who finds himself out of his league when he has to deal with Daisy's twin daughters, Delia and Delilah Duke (Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba), who are looking to make a real boy wonder out of Tim Drake! I wonder where Bo and Luke Duke could be right now!

Episode Nineteen: Space Ghost/Green Lantern: Eclipsia

There, they not only meet up with Supes, but Bloom, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Flora and Mirta are introduced to Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman and Hawkwoman. Watch the hijinks ensue as Flash tries to score with those damn fairies, Batman ends up at Red Fountain and takes over Professor Codatorta's class, beating the crap outta Riven and the other specialists in the process, and even a visiting Booster Gold trying his best to score with Miss Griffin at Cloud Tower! Man, even Diana and Shayera get into the act when they try to teach Amazonian and Thanagarian fighting techniques to over 300 magical fairies at Alfea, all in this hilarious crossover episode!

Plus, there's another reason she's here: it's her cousin Frances Kane (Selma Blair), and it has something to do with Dick's old friend Wally West (Michael Rosenbaum) in a special interconnecting storyarc with the Flash in Segment 22 of the Showcase!

Episode Seven: The Magenta Effect

Remember the other reason Miranda Kane is visiting Dick last episode? Yeah! and it involves the arrival of Wally West to Bludhaven when the magnetic villainess Magenta (Selma Blair) makes her appearance on Nightwing's home turf and putting our hero out of his league! Episode Ten: The Return of Arkady Duvall

The classic BTAS episode "Showdown" told the story of Jonah Hex and his battle with land baron Arkady Duvall (Malcolm McDowell), who happened to be the son of Ra's Al Ghul (David Warner)! Now, Bludhaven faces its greatest threat ever, as Talia Al-Ghul (Helen Slater) comes to Bludhaven to unearth a brand-new Lazarus Pit 300 feet beneath the city so that she can rejuvenate her big brother once and for all! But, even if he returns to his young self, could Nightwing, and even many of the town's crime bosses, be able to stop the son of the Demon's Head from becoming the new "Emperor of Bludhaven?" It's either or, Gene. This is their first time in the Showcase, so in future Showcases, they will use their birth name.

I didn't like the movie too tough, so this Showcase is really based on the TV series with all characters age-appropriate (except for the deceased, which are not listed), just to clarify to the readers of the thread.

More off-the-wall hijinks than a late-night showing of "Showgirls" and more buxom babes than in a 50-Cent video! trixie, trixie, trixie ,what are you up to NOW? AND WHAT HAPPENED TO REX RUTHLESS?

Kenny Eugene McCall
10-29-2005, 07:01 PM
As far as I'm concerned, Rex Ruthless and Dirty Trixie were married for ten years after graduating from Hero High. The villain was killed by the Monster Society of Evil in 1995, causing Trixie to give up villainy in some form or another and become the school's principal in 2000. That's my theory.

Meanwhile, in one of the craziest, death-defying action sequences ever, Batman and Spider-Man find themselves on the pursuit of both the Goblin and the Joker throghout the city! Plus, all the action dealing with Bats and Webhead has also affected the small skirmish between the Black Cat and Catwoman, prompting them to join up with Bruce and Peter to deal with a plot to unleash a psychotropic, hallucinogenic toxin upon the city's water supply, unless Bruce and Selina, and Peter and Felicia, can put an end to it once and for all!

Episode Three: Wonder Woman/Thor: The Fall of the Rainbow Bridge!

Thanks to the madness between Hades and Loki, and the ensuing battle between the Amazons and Vikings, Asgard's Rainbow Bridge has been destroyed, causing a chain reaction that also rips through the protective shield that guards Paradise Island! Now, Thor and Wonder Woman must repel the combined forces of Themiscyra and Asgard, and find a way to repair the Rainbow Bridge before it's too late! Plus, what happens when Circe and Amora meet for the first time, and they start looking for ways to put the men of Earth under their spell? It's a little minisode called "Sexy Sorceresses Gone Wild," only with this episode!

Episode Four: X-Men Evolution/Young Justice: Tripocalyse Now!

Young Justice and the Evo gang are in the fight of their lives, as they face the amalgamated might of the newly-created Tri Sabah Gon, aka Tripocalypse (Christopher Judge), when the might of his power threatens to spell the end of the world for us all, unless Raven and Scarlet Witch can find a way to reverse the spell that created him in the first place in the conclusion of this crossover episode!

Marvel's trashiest girl group meets DC's freakiest girl group, as the Misfits meet the Hex Girls for the first time ever in an adventure which introduces Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer, Thorn, Luna and Dusk to a mysterious Time Lord named Access (Danny Masterson), who tricks the two girl groups into traveling to the Amalgam Universe, where they end up fused to one another and become the girl group Gothica! But will Dragonsbane [Pizzazz/Dusk], Silvermane [Roxy/Luna] and Stormbreaker [Stormer/Thorn] be able to survive in a world with such luminaries as Super Soldier [Superman/Captain America], Spiderbat [Spiderman/Batman], Valkyra [Thor/Wonder Woman] and even Nightdevil [Nightwing/Daredevil]? It's a hilarious introduction into the Amalgam Universe in this special episode!

Segment 46: The Misadventures of Robin and Spoiler
(Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown finally get their own damn series showcase!)

Voice Cast:

Tim Drake/Robin: Matthew Valencia
Stephanie Brown/Spoiler: Hynden Walch

Episode One: Welcome To The Big Leagues, Tim and Stephanie!

Well folks, it has been some time since the events of many of the Batman shows, and of the Hype! fanfic Young Justice: TAS. And boy, Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown have been through a lot, from Tim's nightmarish dealings with the Joker in the Batman: ROTJ flashback to Steph's dealing with her father, the Riddler wannabe the Cluemaster, They've been through it all! Now they face one of the toughest decisions of their lives, growing up, as a 19-year-old Robin and 18-year-old Spoiler deal with stepping out of the shadows of their mentors and becoming bona fide full superheroes! But one thing's still in question: Will these two lovebirds ever get married someday? We'll see!

Episode Two: Brains and Brawna

Remember that overgrown daughter of Farmer Brown's, Emmylou Brown (Dina Sherman), from the Adventures of Batman and Robin some years back? Well, she's back and on her own, this time as a brand-new Robin villainess named Brawna! Think of her as a female version of Bane, without all that freakish musculature and all that Venom pumped in the veins! And, when she comes looking for a rematch with her cousin Stephanie from an episode of Young Justice TAS, She finds herself dealing with Robin instead! Girlfriend, that is not Batgirl you're dealing with there!

Episode Three: Tigress, Tigress, Burning Bright

Paula Brooks (Kristen Bell), the circus acrobat-turned-teen model protege of Eve Eden from the last Nightwing Showcase, has returned, but in Robin and Spoiler's own Showcase looking to score with Robin again in her new identity as the slinky, tiger-striped, crossbow-wielding heroine called the Tigress! And whatever Paula wants for herself, Paula gets, much to the dismay of Robin's current squeeze, Spoiler! My advice to Miss Brooks, watch out for Miss Brown when you meet her!

Episode Four: Gearhead

Now, if I can take the new Batman villain called Gearhead (Will Friedle) out of the Jeff Matsuda Batman continuity, and put him in the established Bruce Timm continuity, this story would go like this: When Tim and Steph go visit their friend Phoebe Monroe (Jennifer Hale) and her mom Penelope (Heather Locklear) at their home, they find themselves in a situation where both Sweet Sixteen and the former Penelope Pitstop are being stalked by Gearhead, a high-tech race-car driver looking to make a name for himself!. But, who is Robert Sutton, and what is his connection to a certain rocket-riding stuntwoman named Roxanne (Charity James)? And, what's his relationship with Phoebe Monroe, her mother Penelope and her aunt Paige (Sela Ward)?

Episode Five: Scream

Stephanie Brown finds herself in a real bad situation, as she deals with Hawk and Dove's rocker-chick nemesis, Kestrel (Gwen Stefani) when she visits Nightwing's home turf of Bludhaven for one of her concerts. But, even Kestrel is no match for the coming of the terrifying sonic witch Silver Banshee (Rose McGowan), forcing the two women to join together to take her down!

Attention Hypesters:

The DC Showcase is coming back in June!

Originally scheduled for February, because I'm waiting for Justice League to finish up, the DC Animated Showcase will return in June to an all-new format based on the "One Year Later" storyline from DC Comics - done in animated form following the events of the JLU two-part series finale!

Also, because of this, the various superheroes and musical groups of the Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network universes will officially become part of the DC Animated family, and will be interspersed within all DC superhero fanfics as well. Could there be a return of the Justice Guild and Seaboard City as well based on these characters?

The fun begins in June with "Young Justice Unlimited: Series Two." Look for it!
