ummm, Kinda sorta. Im a tattoo artist so I get to do a fair amount of custom artwork for people, but most of the time its stupid little things liek flowers and junk. Theres not too often people come to me wanting gigantic spider-man tattoos or anything.

Nope, actually it wasnt bad at all. The one I got on my arm was a bit worse. I think mostly cause when you tattoo yourself, your not concentrating on the pain as much as you are concentrating on doing a good job.

yeah, youre probabaly right, now that i look at him he is kinda shiny looking. I did a bit of texture, but i dont like going overboard with textures, it tends to kill the drawing, imo.

That's because Hellboy does have apeish features. Look at his nose and upper lip. And in the movie he was mistaken for a red ape.

Thanks for the suggestions. I dont wanna go too crazy with detail, I want his tats to be the main focus. Cus this is gonna be on pretty small mediums usually, business cards, ads, etc. The final one Im gonna airbrush on the wall will be much bigger, so I can throw some more detail in there.

I'm an artist myself, like so many others here, and strive to become better, but find myself amazed by my fortune to be illustrating a historical book at this moment. Your Hellboy is just great with the red pencil and it's a spitting image of Ron Pearlman as his character.

I hope to see your work published along with the likes of Silver S and so many artistical talents here. I'm glad so many artists can come here and express and show off their talents.

Hey great artwork draw4u. It's inspiring to me and has gotten me to pick up my pencils and draw again. One thing I was wondering is I see you do very little DC stuff but as a small request could you do a Superman one? Well I originally did it in blue, but then lowered the saturation levels, so its grey, but it might still have a hint of blue in it.

Looks like a color knockout, probably done in Photoshop. Using the channels and the wizard tool you can select certain lines and then color them differently. Least that's the way I was taught.

This is sweet. THe proportions are just right and the inking and line work is top notch. Colors a basic, but they work.

Just a comment on the character itself...i never understood why the scorpion is green? I never seen a green scorpion...Id like to see a redesign with a brown and black scorpion. I think that would be much more menacing aswell....just a comment.

I heard it was because Green was the cheapest color to use back then. Which is why so many characters are green.

I got the idea for this pose from a little spider-man doodle I saw by J. Scott Campbell, except campbell had him holding onto the web with his feet, adn he was reaching kinda forward or somethign, I dunno, it was a really small pic. Anyways, I always thought my spider-man looked kinda rigid compared to the villains I was drawing, so I tried to loosen him up a bit with this one. Hoping to color it later.

Wow the place is looking killer man. I'm surprised how much work you got done since you found the spot and started renovating it. My local shop has one good artist, but your shop is so much nicer it's ridiculous. Much better chairs, tv's, etc. For the first time in my life I wish I lived in Canada =p.
