dude I have a 10 year old version of Photo suite, and a kodak photo editor program, it just takes some practice and knowlege of what works and what doesn't.
Photo suite is cheaper by far tho lol

There should be a selection tool. My photo suite has a free hand selection tool that you trace the figure you want, save it to your clipboard and then paste it to the background you want.

AMW gets credit for the idea here, but, this is an example of Freehand Selection or cut and paste with a cartoon and sphere effects applied.

I found the doom mask was more effective tho with this type of idea.

I've been doing this for years, and the computor graphics is basically self taught. Took me about 3 months just to figure out how to use the programs I have.

Thanks. If someone with a better knowlage of photoshop want to clean up the 4 or anything be my guest. I anted to have like a smoke and light effect for the symbol like the offical wallpapers but i'm not that good :(

Well here are a couple of things you can work on Jester.

First Photo Suite has a section in it that you can create collages with. After you've copied part of a picture, you can apply the pic to another. When you do this, in Photo suite you can choose to fade the edges of the copied pic to hide the selected areas of the pic.

Something that helps out ALOT is increasing the pixal per inch of the image you are coping from. When you do this it also helps hide the cut areas after you've applied it to another photo.
Don't confuse this with zooming in on a picture. Zooming in does work when you're working on a small part of a picture, but it doesn't increase it's actual size, the more pixals the better.

Smoke does take pratice. Try using movies with fire and smoke in them for reference. Watch how the smoke moves, much like water.
Smoke can be made easly with a brush in photo suite by changing the opacity of the color on the brush.
All I can say is, it is easier than it sounds. You just have to get used to the programs you're using, and pratice practice practice.

I drew the layout & figures roughly myself (referencing a poster from the comics) then manipped whatever photos I could find to fit over the figures I'd drawn, taking bits and peices from them, manipping them and 'painting' in the rest. For this one Reed's face, shoulders and chest were adapted from an existing still up at the official site, the rest of him (body, arms & hands) were drawn & 'painted' in photoshop to match. For Sue her head, torso and right arm were adapted from another still, the rest was mine. For Ben I took his head from one of the other posters, then dropped over sections of the rocks on his body and his legs to match the sections of him in the pose I'd drawn then painted over where needed to get all those bits to blend & match, and with Johhny I lucked out as I could take him mostly from a screencap taken off the Showest trailer and only had to clean that up a bit and add his flame trail and face (again manipped from an existing still).
The background was adapted from two photos: a nightime city shot and a suitable looking photo of rubble.
And with the Doom pic his head, shoulders and torso come from one of the stills we have seen, the rest I had to guess from the trailers and pics of the toys.

Lastly, there's no clean standalone full logo I could find and I don't know the typeface for it so to make an authentic looking one I redrew that and used photoshop's 'styles' effects to match the format (bevelled metal) of the movie sites logo.

For this one Reed's face, shoulders and chest were adapted from an existing still up at the official site, the rest of him (body, arms & hands) were drawn & 'painted' in photoshop to match. For Sue her head, torso and right arm were adapted from another still, the rest was mine. For Ben I took his head from one of the other posters, then dropped over sections of the rocks on his body and his legs to match the sections of him in the pose I'd drawn then painted over where needed to get all those bits to blend & match, and with Johhny I lucked out as I could take him mostly from a screencap taken off the Showest trailer and only had to clean that up a bit and add his flame trail and face (again manipped from an existing still).
The background was adapted from two photos: a nightime city shot and a suitable looking photo of rubble.
And with the Doom pic his head, shoulders and torso come from one of the stills we have seen, the rest I had to guess from the trailers and pics of the toys.

Lastly, there's no clean standalone full logo I could find and I don't know the typeface for it so to make an authentic looking one I redrew that and used photoshop's 'styles' effects to match the format (bevelled metal) of the movie sites logo.

I manip pics too, but what I've maniped are buildings from a Renaissance faire to look like an actual building, Taking out obects that don't belong or that I don't like, and adding things that I do like.
You're a great talent Wobbly, I think you should put something together and send it to Fox!

:) I have to concur with what everyone is saying! Your talent is 'heads and shoulders' above anyone here. First time I say that pict, I was sure that was an OFFICIAL Release work. Ask Fox for a good F4 logo and send them your work! Carpe' Diem! Never go to the end wondering 'what if'! I used to have a small record label...when I was 25! I'm now producing tracks and have some stuff being considered by a major label, and I'm Moby's age. You're never too old, but don't wait to become old...live till that day doing what you do well!
