I was thinking that if they brought in this character maybe they could use Brendan Gleeson. I know he doesn't look very llike the character in the comics but i'm sure he could pull it off. Who do you guys think could play him?

Could be anyone really. Anyone fat. I'd rather not see some big-name really obvious choice like Goodman or Gandolfini. Someone lower-key would be better. Gleeson could be all right with a dye Job.
Casting Goodman or Gandolfini as Bullock would be like casting a Deniro or Pacino as Falcone when a Wilkinsone will do... sure they would have been good, but at the same time a pretty unimaginitive and cliched choice.

John Goodman. I like Nolan's idea of casting character actors in lead roles, and leading stars in supporting roles. Tjis goes along with his theory.

I think Goodman is too old. In the new films' continuity, I don't think there should be a Sgt. Bullock. However, freshly-minted -Detective- Bullock might work. The only problem is that there aren't many young, fat guys in Hollywood. I heard that some of the Backstreet Boys porked up. ;). I actually think this would make for a great sequel. Loosely following the The Killing Joke, Gordon gets kidnapped and Bullock helps Batman to get him back. Or Something.

I know it seems that way (and that's my own personal opinion)...but things change. I know virtually no one in the fan community thought of Oldman as Gordan, but he'll be great. As long as the guy gives a strong screen test, I could care who Nolan chooses.
You know, it's amazing, but we'd never seen a live-action version of Bullock before. I believe he was in the first draft of Returns, but that's it. Another mileston for Batman, I hope.

Well, they did make the Green Beret trained Flass into one fat f**k, so I'm not sure if the smaller character's weight matters much to Nolan and crew. :p
Here's another suggestion: Bob Hoskins. He practically did Bullock when he played Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?

Gandolfini is Bullock. I'm a huge fan of John Goodman, thouh. He played a cop before previously in Fallen with Denzel Washington, so he can definitely pull it off. But I've never seen him do a dramatic role (I've never actually seen Fallen).
I also think Michael Madsen would be great as Bullock. He's an awesome actor and would fit well within the cast.

What about Giamattti?
I think Gleeson, Gandolfini, and Madsen are the best suggestions. Out of those, Gleeson is the best choice. You don't have to give him that much screen time for him to be engraved in people's minds as Bullock. If Madsen or Gandolfini are cast, it'll be a much meatier part. I really don't want to see Bullock developed too much, but a nice mention would be nice. Then again, they did cast Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.
I can accept Liotta and Belushi, but Gervais, Reilly, and Goodman just don't cut it for me. Gervais is a Brit, and to me doesn't even look like Bullock. Reilly is a talented actor, but doesn't have the gruff presence to play Bullock. Goodman could've played Bullock in any of Burton's movies. He would've been ideal, but I think his window of opportunity is gone.

YES!!! I'm quoting myself, I cant beleive nobody has picked this up and ran with it, he is so damned perfect for the role!
Liotta is my choice for Salvatore Maroni.
At this point my top picks are:
James Gandolfini
John Goodman
Michael Madsen
Meat Loaf (yes, I'm sorry but I think he can do it)
Tom Arnold

Well, he's not my top choice, but I think he'd be awesome. He has acted before, and he was good in Fight Club.
he's been acting since the 70s actually. *cough*Eddie in Rocky Horror*cough* but i don't know about him being Bullock.

does anyone think jack black could do it.

he was good in Kong, but even then he was still the "comic relief" role. Bullock needs to be serious, tough, imposing really.

Ted Levine would be cool............but he's CLayFace if they ever do him. His voice, it's just to good.
John Belushi was the ultimate Bullock....RIP.
James Gandolfini is my top runner, with John Goodman and Brendan Gleeson and Brian Dennehey close behind.
Ray Liotta would be great, but he could be used as another character. Jim Belushi would be ok as well. Oliver Platt same category.
But Gandolfini, Gleeson, Goodman and Dennehey are my top choice

indeed - Goodman is my number one.

I don't know what's Bullock's age difference with Gordon normally, but in real life, Michael Madsen is born same year than Oldman, and John Goodman is 6 years older than them. If they're supposed to be same age, this just adds to my top choice, Madsen.

Madsen is a good choice. He's an actor that doesn't get a lot of attention.

i dont think the age difference between Bullock and Gordon should matter much. Flass looked ten times older then Gordon in Batman Begins.

He is not that fat (but then again Flass was skinny) so he could put on a few for the role...but I pick Chris Noth

Noth would've been a great Flass.actually you're right he would have been.....but I can see him doing this. He is kind of a wise guy, and this guy plays arrogant enough that he could talk down to Bats a little

I agree Noth has the attitude, but he'd definitely have to gain some weight. A thin Bullock wouldn't gel with his character. He needs to be a fat, arrogant slob. Noth seems too charming, at least as far as looks go.
