jk.
Does this movie scare anyone else EVERY TIME you watch it? It's such an original horror movie, though its not just horror. It's got mystery, suspense, action, and noir in there somewhere. But what i mean by original horror film is that the movie has few jumps or surprises, but gives you and leaves you scared. I have seen the movie multiple times, and I still get chills at the last scene, and it stilll leaves me with a creepy feeling. Which is why I'm still awake at 2:40 writing this. Any thoughts on the movie?

The only reason it freaks me out is because it's disturbing how it can actually happen in real life.

I made this thread so we could take about the movie here.
I think Se7en is one of the very best movies ever made, it is bloody brilliant. The story is amazing and the cast and acting is stunning too. I also must say that this one of the most exciting movies I have ever seen. The end was just too exciting to describe.
Also the sets and locations are brilliant, the city is so dark and you don't know where the hell it is.'
The location of the end is just surrealistic..and so awesome.
I LOVE this movie.

I have to second this, some great acting ( Freeman, Pitt, and especially Spacey), and great direction by Fincher. The city really is great, always raining and dark. The chemistry between Mills and Somerset is awesome! This movie is truly brilliant!

Se7en for me suffers the same thing as movies like American Psycho and Fight Club. I love all three, yet for some reason i always seem to get bored with hearing about them if you know what I mean. Not so much bored talking about them but rather they get talked about to death.
Love the film though.
Carmine Falcone
01-15-2005, 02:34 PM
The movie doesn't have 1 single bad or boring scene in it IMO. The scene in which Mills and Somerset are standing in front of the door of John Doe's apartment and Doe comes walking into the hallway, he sees them and shoots on them and then the abnormally exciting chase through the City is awesome.
When they entered the home of Doe, that was disturbing all those note books with his sick stories in it. And then HE CALLS...creepy.......
I can go on and on saying how much i like this movie.
Dark Donnie
01-15-2005, 02:36 PM
I know what you mean, but I really don't hear about Se7en as much as I do American Psycho or Fight Club. Those two(at least American Psycho) are probably the most talked about on these boards. I think Se7en is the superior of the three films BTW.

I still would like to see a sequel to this with Fincher directing.
Pitt's character has gone wacko and becomes kind of a vigilante with horrific ways of killing his prey. Freeman's character is called out of retirement to help track him down and bring him in alive.

Se7en is an amazing movie. It was one of the few thrillers that truly disturbed me (Saw and Natural Born Killers, the latter of which I never sawm did the same), and I think that's why it's so good.

And all was right with the world!
Kevin Spacey ROCKS in Se7en, and that is, in no way, an exaggeration, especially when John Doe was talking to Mills about his victims in the car. That was pure brilliant acting from Spacey there.
Should've been nominated for more than a mere Oscar.

I love this film. Obviously Freeman is exceptional along with Spacey and to a degree Pitt and Paltrow (in her limited role). The story is great as is the dialogue, but the way that film is shot is one of the most remarkable things about it. Fincher sets the mood and keeps you there. It's dark, disturbing, rainy, disgusting, filthy, and creepy. Then just when he allows you to see the sunshine, the outside world, out in the open, he finishes you off with the shocker.
Absoultely briliant!

My sister put me on to this movie when I was in middle school. I've been watching good movies since :) I really like it. Fincher really knows how to make the environment come to life. I hated the ending though! Not that it was bad, but just that Doe had killed Pitt's wife, head in the box. Sad ending.
