I remember an episode where Goku mentioned that he learned Kami-san style of Karate. What I want to know is there a martial art style that closely resembles the moves on Dragonball?
I've never seen this question, so I thought I'd throw it out to see the responses.

shaolin kung fu. I think krillin used to be a shaolin monk. thats why he wore orange clothes(same as Goku) and had those dots on his head.

Its a mixture of various fighting techniques, with shaolin kung fu being a major contributor. Included is pankration, an ancient greek form of martial arts that focuses on complete strength, sambo which is comprised of ancient wrestling and ancient russian hand to hand combat also included is tai kwon do, hapkido and tai chi chuan, a combination of agressive and evasion techniques coupled with high speed assaults and powerful strikes.

There are many different styles. The new Mortal Kombat games are particularly good in sticking to and showing various martial arts and their styles, poses, and attacks. Dragonball trilogy martial arts are very mixed but in the original Dragonball I think Goku and Krillen's martial arts had a Shaolin influence. But I'm not qualified to say exactly which one or whether or not they followed an exact style.

i remember there being a thread in the past based on a ufc combatant who based his fighting style on what occured in the db eps...
i wish i could find the thread and post the relevant link so one could have a understanding on how the fighting style would transfer directly (as as close to as possible) into the real world.
saying this, whatever they said they practiced may not actually what was animated.
it's also clear that other races and fighters may have practiced different styles of combat. i.e. i don't think piccollo practiced in a martial art that would be of earthly descent (or at least he shouldn't have)

dots part is correct
clothes part wrong
Krillin used to wear a yellow type of outfit related to monks before the orange jumpsuit. Roshi gave Krillin and Goku the suits before their first Budokai tournement in Dragonball.
