I'm practicing anatomy which is why i didn't draw the clothes over the muscles and whatnots, mmhmm.

Man, I really dig your style, a bit of Michael Turner and Alex Garner and Brian Stelfreeze (vs. card game artists). For your last set there, Superman looks a bit awkward- chest and neck. THe one above it is amazing though. All the rest are pretty awesome though. It looks like you recycled some sketches there. Make sure though, to not make them look like they have no skin. This batch was much better than your first ( flash pretty much didnt have any skin) and your Big Boss, Mystique, and Spartan rocked.

Thanks, I had no ideas who the last two artists you mentioned were and I checked out their stuff. I am forcing myself to go back and actually finish sketches I started. The skinless ones are well skinless, I was practicing musculature and since this is a superhero forum, I stuck some superhero flare on them and posted them. Thank you for the c & c.

That is true, I am trying to learn to draw different body types and faces. Even as goood as Michael Turner and Jim Lee are they redraw the same basic face, you know, I think it only takes a little practice and drawing from life to get out of the rut. Thanks for the comment. :hellboy:

These are photo referenced. I'm drawing some pics from photos to practice anatomy. I was having somewhat of a block on poses, etc. and I'm trying to get over that bump so I can draw as much over the summer as possible (College = zero time to draw). When I run out of ideas I don't draw and this has tremendously hurt my growth as an artist. So I'm hoping this will boost my skills a bit. I have to be careful not to let referencing become a crutch though.

I'm drawing a rough manikin underneath each picture first to learn proportions and make sure everything goes in the right place, basically following the Andrew Loomis model. Then I go over the rough manikin type model adding details and finally add costume and such. So far I have been shying away from legs I noticed. This routine is helping me with speed, proportions and anatomy. I am trying to do one a day. I was drawing small heads on my figures too and have been so far pretty unsuccessful in breaking that habit, I think these pieces are an improvement, but let me know what you think about that.:o
