oh how could anyone not like that two parter??

sure as single episodes they were slightly average, but put together and oh were they good:woot: Dalek Sec was used in a fantastic way. rather than just be all Daleky the slow discover of his human side was brilliant, and the accent was fun. the Thay, Caan and Jest were always going to turn, so it wasn;t that much drama, but the turn of the dalek-humans was...only thing about that i don;t get is how did a little bit of timelord DNA get into them...cause the dalek stuff was injected...but the dr's was jsut carried:huh:

8/10 for the whole story.

Lots of fun, but the next time we see the Daleks I would like them to be fully developed and renumerated, with a functional base on an assymilated planet. I think that they generally work better as overlords than underdogs.

Sec knew he would gain human emotions and sort of accepted them as part of the whole human dalek deal. the dalek in Dalek was scared and confused by(and thanks to) the emotions he got. that makes them different enough imo.

Only One Time Lord and One Darlek remain. Its a fight to the Death. What Episode does Captain Jack Harkness return in. I heard it was episode 6 or something.

One of the worst episodes to date, I shall ignore this two parter, it felt pointless, and could have been told beter in a single episode and cut out the terrible cliche moments. I was happy to see the solution to the problem was more than just "send them into a portal" or something like that.

I hated the way they butchered the notion of the Dalek's, need to bring back Davros and do it properly, this is depressing to watch great sci-fi creations being distorted into crapness.

Martha is very irritating, perhaps she would be better if she was part of a small team of companions like in the original episodes, this whole one on one thing is becoming irritiating, and what happened to "one trip forward, one trip back". :(

I was a little confused as to why the Doc took Martha back in time again, but I just assumed he did it to make up for taking her New New York.

I think this episode would've been much better if it had better acting, a tighter script, was only one part, had a different plot, if Talullah & Lazlo weren't there, and if it took place somewhere other than New York.

By the way, what was up with Dalek-Sec speaking so slowly? "I... am... a human... Dalek." "Everything... that they were... has been lost." God, it's like listening to Apache Chief from the Superfriends. "Me... grow up... in America... and speakum English... as first... language, but... speakum... like stereotype."

I liked Martha in "Smith & Jones," "Shakespeare Code," and felt she was okay in "Gridlock." This Dalek 2-parter was so disappointing, I found myself hating every aspect of it, including Martha. She wasn't useful, like "Smith & Jones." She wasn't the plucky little sidekick, like in "Shakespeare Code." She wasn't the damsel in distress, like "Gridlock." She was just... there.

It's like without Rose, the writers don't know how to handle a companion in their stories.

Finally brought myself to "acquire" and watch the pilot of Sarah Jane Adventures. It wasn't bad, for being a more kid-centric show. I was surprised to see how much "spock" the woman had in her attic. Some moments in the episode stood out for me: Sarah Jane's first meeting with Mrs. Wormwood, her reflection on traveling with the Doctor, and K-9's cameo.

That was an awesome episode .... imo the best yet this series.

The creature effects were very good and the whole thing really felt like the start of bad things to come for the Doctor.

Due to a two week gap until the next episode we were treated to a bunch of clips at the end covering the rest of the series ....

Trust me .... by the end of this season we will look back and say it was the best yet!

IP/SP and L&M were the best things about series 2. GITF was the worst pile of crap i'd ever seen and School Reunion, even though providing us with perhaps the only new series villian worthy of a return, wasn't that good.

Lazurus was a good episode, he had good ways of dealing with his problem, rather than a vortex like usual. MArtha is very annoying and her family.....urh! I think the mystery about Mr Saxon was cool, I was expecting him to be the master and he'd get his energy sucked out and regenerate into who we expect to be playing him ;);)

The relationship with Martha is becoming tedius, hopefully jack will defuse this somewhat....

They've hired Robert Engels from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda?

No, really. RTD has nothing on Engels. Engels will give you a 22-episode arc that's incredibly confusing, then have the main characters explain everything at the end using leaps in logic so amazing, you'll swear the show was written by a 5 year old. I still want to punch him in the face for that final season, where we find out every single clue from the past 21 episodes was a red herring, and the ending gets pulled out of his ass.

But I digress.

I didn't know the "coming soon" was just from the final few episodes. I gathered it had to be the final episodes, but I figured the next episode had to be mixed in, too.

Martha will really die. She doesn't have the same kind of relationship with the Doctor that Rose had. I don't see her lasting more than one season. Also, I can't help but think of that "coming soon" trailer in the last episode. That last view of the Doctor standing alone? I think things will really hit the fan this year.

i don't think there will be death, i mean RTD said he wouldn't kill rose because doctor who is about hope. and they were filming jack's goodbye scene in full view of the public with martha there presumably thats at the end of 13 honestly though how long can martha travel with the doctor without missing out on her education to become a doctor. I mean one night has passed fair enough by the lazarus experiment but missing a week, a month can have an effect on her studies. Add to that she will look older if she spends a year or two with him by the time she gets back

I too was disappointed not to be able to download my Doctor Who fix yesterday.

I just sat down and rewatched the first five "Totally Doctor Who" (*cringe*) animated episodes. The background CGI is pretty good, but it's hard not to notice that the flash-animated Doctor and Martha are always in a rigid 3/4 view pose - kinda funny.

exactly i think the martha fans feel that she is being written like she's not as good as rose by the production team and the fact the the doctor had a romantic interest in rose makes martha somehow inferior because he doesn't feel the same way about her. I have a lot of critcism of martha(can you tell:p) but common sense says that we have different relationships in our lives- not all of them romantic but that doesn't make them any less important

You know what really pisses me off? That I'm 90% sure RTD is saving his more original story ideas for Torchwood. Granted, most of Torchwood was crap, but "Ghost Machine," "Small Worlds," and "Greeks Bearing Gifts" had excellent concepts.

Meanwhile, Doctor Who has had retreads of "Unquiet Dead," and an episode per season focusing on the year 5 billion.

3/5 good but as i guessed a rehash of everything from the satan pit and a bit of the end of the world. I was cheering martha's pod to go in the sun. Freema's acting prior to the pod scene was excruciating!!! I doubt this will be one to watch again anytime soon

i dont. RTD says in confidential that becoming a companion entitles you to a key and superphone so where was jacks and mickey's and adam's and donna's? Its him thinking if they sprinkle the moments fans loved from rose like- 'plus one', 'the key' (http://www.loony-archivist.com/who/betterw2/img/gallery/1j.jpg), the phone- it will make martha more acceptable if anything its making me go STOP IT. You want martha to be a character in her own right give her her own character moments because right now the writers are removing them from others like the mother slapping him.

I loved that clip I loved it!!!!! I love Jack in that part

One thing which I was annoyed at the Doc saw Jack why did he run off and ignor him I wouldn't have done that! Martha is going to be all over him - she best know his mine! lol.

Tonights episode was ok, nothing much really got bored, although the eye thing reminded me of Cyclops from X-men lol in parts.
