I don't know...maybe we Americans are harder on Jack (no pun intended) because he's also supposed to be American. He comes across as a poor man's Tom Cruise (and these days, Tom Cruise is a poor man's Tom Cruise).

Perhaps if the character was British I wouldn't find myself so annoyed by his antics in DW, or maybe if he wasn't supposed to be an immortal badass. He seems like the type of character calculated to appeal to Buffy fans.

The old series is fine by me, they did what they had the ability to do, but now, they are really just doing things for the sake of it. The Master as PM, you know he'd do something a bit more insidious, I liked the whole -10% thing, but it seems like he's relying on something else, instead of his own superiority

I can't help but wonder about Leo Jones. RTD could've easily had him captured along with the rest of Martha's family, but he made a point of Martha telling him to run, and Martha realizing he hadn't been captured. Where is he? Will he play a significant role in the final episode?

Well well well. We finally figured out why the Master is alive and with a whole new set of regenerations. The Time Lords wanted him to be a player in the Time War, so they revived him. Did they give him a whole new 12, though? Eh, like it matters. They can kill him off and bring him back 20 times, and explain it away.

Loved the view of Gallifrey. Black Time Lords! Hooray!

That portrayal of the American President was totally-- who am I kidding? Aside from the fact that he spoke like a news anchor, that was dead on. I can easily see any one of our Presidents snatching power from the British PM. Of course, that's because the only PM I knew was Blair (oh snap!). Liked the tea/grits line, though.

Since the Master gutted the TARDIS, does that mean series 4 will finally grant my fondest wish, and redesign the TARDIS control room? I like the overall design and the octagon walls, but keep in mind that control panel used to be clean enough for the Doctor to be upset at Romana for drilling a hole in it.
