Adam is Dave Ross
I came up with a good idea of how to get Dave Ross into the show. The Doctor and the new Companion should go back in time to New York 1972 to see the World Trade Center before the towers fell. Then there should be a Human/Dalek person who survived and lived on as Dave Ross, a name he picked for no known reason.
1972 was when the towers were the tallest in the world.
I was gonna write that as a fan fic but I can't think of a plot really.the bug woman said something about a "comglomeration" and being the last one of her peolpe to whihc the dr said "comglomeration...thats what i said!" and then jack said "you're supposed to say sorry" and the the dr said "oh yes...i'm sorry"
Ah... Didn't think that had to do with his sayings. I was expecting:
Doctor: "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry"
Other: "For what?"

I always thought it would be cool to go to a parallel Earth, just hop around forever, that'd be awesome. If you could correctly rotate a black hole or even cause a bubble in Quantum Foam you could create a Doorway to another universe, I'd love that. Hell even changing your gravometric vibration would in theory take you to a parallel universe that has that vibration, or rip you apart at the speed of light, either one would be interesting.

Or you could just go find Quinn Mallory and "Slid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sliders)." What if you could travel to parallel worlds? The same year, the same Earth, only different dimension? A world where the Russians ruled America? Or where your dreams of being a superstar came true? Or where San Francisco was a maximum security prison? My friends and I found the gateway. Now, the problem is: finding a way back home.

Yep. Yep. Supported by such Metaphysical theories as:
String Theory.
M-Theory.
Quantum Interpretation (Many worlds)
Chaotic Inflation
Bubble Universe
Einstein-Klaus-Klien Theory
The only other alternative to Many-worlds in Quantum interpretation is the Schrodinger's Cat which is infinitely more metaphysical and philosophical (Whenever you can't see it it is in all states at once until you see it, even then it has no definitive property until you measure it.) That basicly adds god to the equation, if you have to have someone view it to give it a definitive state that implies that there is someone who observed us in this Universe or that Universe is somehow self-aware.

Well, I suppose it will be interesting to see her much more aggresive character vs. the Doctor. Martha and Rose were a bit more submissive and passive, whereas Donna was far more...aggresive, bossy, shouty.
Well, we'll see how it goes I guess.

Hmmm, I was really disappointed at first, then ambivalent, now, I'm looking forward to it. I really liked Donna in the Runaway Bride. Some of her stuff at the beginning WAS awesome, but I loved how much she stood up to him and slapped him and "This friend of yours, before she left, did she PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE?" is one of my favorite bits and by the end, I loved Donna too (the last scene with them is great). But (Note: this is her at the end of the Runaway Bride), she's not "companion material." The Doctor probably wouldn't have asked her under different circumstances. IMO the main reason is because I'm sorry, I like smart people. I like people who notice Cybermen in every homes and when 1/3 of the world's population stood on rooftops while a great big spaceship hung over your head. But y'know what, I realized two things. One, after all her travelling and experiencing the Doctor, maybe she grew a bit smarter. I'd love a bit in episode 1 like "It's like when the Toclafane as- aw, never mind." "You mean when the Toclafane assassinated the US President?" And the Doctor looking over at her with a classic David Tennant smile. She can be a bit smarter and retain her standing up to the Doctor. Two, even if she isn't, mid-season, we're getting smarty-pants Martha back! IMO Doctor/Martha/Donna is possibly one of the best combos, right up there with Doctor/Rose/Cap'n Jack. Martha's smarts, Donna's stubbornness, all wrapped up in one awesome package. I'm really looking forward to this season and ESPECIALLY the second half now. I mean think about it! We're getting two eps worth of Steven Moffat written Donna (I especially hope he gets the second half of the season two-parter so he can write more Martha too). That is awesome. :D

You're just saying that because Tate has a capital rack.
Tate was fun to have around in "The Runaway Bride," but she was overall useless. She was pretty much the episode's McGuffin. She didn't notice anything important (Cyberman invasion. Seriously, how do you miss the ghosts all turning into robots? Didn't she wonder what happened to the ghosts?). She didn't have any good suggestions (dinosaurs?). She even caught on to stuff slowly (Lance, why are you standing there and laughing with the villain?). Her only positive notes were that she was funny, and she wasn't in love with the Doc. Also, her knockers.
Sally and Tim (and for the hell of it, Elton), damnit!
She does have a capital Rack. She is the perfect companion, she'd give you something to look at when RTD plot devices fail.

I'm proud to say I love Rose, Donna AND Martha. :)
Interview with RTD:
"We're bring back the Ice Warriors next season, but they're from an Alternate Universe and there leader is the Meddling Monk! They forge an alliance with the Homosexual War Chief from a pocket Dimension and then invade earth with the ships made of human flesh. Its going to be a great letdown, but it will make me and the BBC lots of money, so I'm good."

Sally and Tim (and for the hell of it, Elton), damnit!
then that will be her character arc then. becoming more useful and thinking on her own unlike martha who just did as she was told

Been away for a while: just wanted to say that, overall, I really enjoyed the last series. David Tennant finally attained a little gravitas, and has grown on me a great deal, Freema developed beyond a pretty face and a squeeky voice, we had some memorable new aliens and monsters, and the re introduction of The Master was great fun.
I do hope the race of Timelords will eventually be restored. They looked quite cool in the penultimate episode's flashbacks.
Kylie: yay!

Im sorry but this is bull****!! Catherine Tate is wrong for the show, shes ok as a guest star in a xmas speacial but not full time. I felt she was the worse thing about the Runnerway bride and there are much better actors out there and better companions for the Doctor, man or woman. Everytime she opened her mouth in the speacial she seemed like she was in one of her comedy characters and she was going to finish every sentence with "Am I Bovvered!!". The character was so dumb too so this choice gets the :down from me.
And why is there so much hatred towards Martha!!
Anyhow rant over...........For Now!!

I don't understand this, either. She is gorgeous and yummy and ever-so-nice. She was a tad less sassy than Rose, but I thought that was no bad thing, really. Her exchanges with Shakespeare were classic. Her voice was and is a little bit squeeky, which I find charming but many people don't. All in all, she gives me a warm glow. Rather than the cold, queezy feeling that Catherine Tate brings about.

Somewhere in this thread, I rattled off a lengthy rant about why I didn't like Martha. Most of it was about her crush on the Doctor, and the fact that everything the writers did with her felt like they were trying too hard to make her a "black, middle class Rose."
She redeemed herself a little in "Last of the Time Lords," though. Enough to push her above Mickey, but not enough to place her with Rose & Jack.

'Easy Rider' star Dennis Hopper is set to rev across the galaxy, with a role in Doctor Who. The Hollywood legend, 71, is in talks with bosses of the cult TV show about a guest role. If he signs up, he is expected to play a baddie in the fourth series which starts filming in Cardiff later this month.
An insider said: “Dennis is a big fan of the show and bosses are really keen to get him on board. Discussions have been going on for some time but his diary is proving a nightmare to work around. However everyone is hopeful they can make something work.”
Doctor Who bosses are aiming high for the new season after the last run, starring David Tennant as the timelord, pulled in audiences of more than eight million viewers.
Pop megastar Kylie Minogue has started filming scenes for this year’s Yuletide extravaganza.
The new series is set to be the last one headed by Russell T Davies, the drama writer who successfully relaunched Doctor Who in 2005.
He has overseen every series since but now wants to concentrate on other projects.
Although there are no plans to make any more series, TV Biz can reveal it won’t be the end of the timelord.
The show will return as a number of specials, scattered throughout the year after screening of the fourth series ends in 2008.

The Season 5 as specials thing was speculation on OG for a few days and it's a well known fact that the tabloids like the Sun (who reported the Dennis Hopper thing and in no way are to be trusted) steal speculation and report it as news. The Hopper thing could be cool, but you can't trust the Sun. Sure, every once and a while, they report the truth but since they report every single piece of tiny DW speculation they can possibly imagine, they're bound to get it right once or twice.

Okay, new fan seeking help.
Starting earlier this year, I decided to start watching classic Doctor Who episodes. I started by buying "The Key to Time" saga, featuring T. Baker. I then looked around frantically for "Destiny of the Daleks," the episode immediately following the final part of "Key to Time," which also features Romana's wacky regeneration scene (which I've seen on Youtube). Uh... turns out that's not available on DVD in the US. So I skipped over to 'City of Death.'
I'm thinking I might just go on to (eventually) buy the remaining 4th Doctor/Romana episodes. After that, I'm at a loss. Does anyone recommend any particular Classic Who stories I should get? Any particular Doctor? Anything I should avoid? And don't just say "watch all of it," because you all know how ridiculous those BBC prices are.

Yeah, when he's ninety. :woot:
"Would you like to come and see the unniverse?"
"Now, i'm in a wheelchair."

Anyone think they are releasing all these tidbits of information about RTD leaving, and new companions etc, just to gauge the fan reactions? You know the producers monitor the Doctor who boards...
Also, Doctor who is far too popular for them to cancel it after series 4...
but telling us it's cancelled boosts the hype for series 4, and then when it does come back, it's even more beloved...

All you fans who hate Martha, you will be begging for her to come back once Catherine tate arrives. :woot:
I have just started getting into older Who myself. Jon Pertwee was an awesome Doctor. I would start off with 'Inferno'. I thought that was a fantasic story myself.

Not a fan of pertwee, Hartnell is the best so far...

Inferno is easily the best story from the Pertwee era. Some good Tom Baker stories are the aforementioned City of Death, as well as Genesis of the Daleks and the Talons of Weng Chiang, but they aren't Romana episodes.

I'd watch Tomb of the Cybermen, one of the best Second Doctor stories, The Talons of Wein-Chang, a Fourth Doctor adventure akin to Sherlock Holmes, The Caves of Androzani, the Fifth Doctor's regeneration (directed by the same guy who directed Season 2's Cybermen two-parter, the finale, and this year's 42 and Utopia) and the Curse of Fenric, an awesome WW2 story with the Seventh Doctor.

Yes and fans at forums like outpost gallifrey have tried to put his stories into canon and since the parallel universes came to exist in doctor who canon it seemed likely his stories took place in one of these. RTD not knowing when fans are on to a good thing and going with it went on to say there are no such things as alternate doctors. The time lords exist in one dimension but can travel between them meaning only one of each time lord in existance anywhere. He did this to add to the heartbreak of doomsday- he wants to highlight that there was no chance of rose meeting another doctor and living happily ever after.
adric is evil
oh he's no good- i watched warriors gate where he just talks to k9 wanders off and gets bullied by romana but in traken he is actually useful and jokes with the doctor about the doctor not being as good as he thinks he is. Also its adric who booby traps the source and 'saves the day' for lack of a better phrase and thats all on his own initiave and smarts compared to martha who isn't half as intelligent and only does as shes told.
By the way sci fi are/have shown the first two episodes of series 3 tonight in america so we may want to quieten down on the spoilers just in case some people wander in here

Well, since Cushing's Doctor isn't a Timelord he can very well be in the Other Universe. They just need to explain how he got time Lord tech (Maybe a Tardis crashed because of the Time War that had the Records of the Doctor leading the fleet and decided the Police Box was good) Hell, his last name could be WHO and since he was a scientist he is a Doctorate :D
There, eat it RTD.
