John always looks plastic...

A man lives at the corner of the street,
And his neighbors think hes helpful and hes sweet,
cause he never swears and he always shakes you by the hand,
But no one knows he really is a plastic man.

Hes got plastic heart, plastic teeth and toes,
(yeah, hes plastic man)
Hes got plastic knees and a perfect plastic nose.
(yeah, hes plastic man)
Hes got plastic lips that hide his plastic teeth and gums,
And plastic legs that reach up to his plastic bum.
(plastic bum)

Plastic man got no brain,
Plastic man dont feel no pain,
Plastic people look the same,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Kick his shin or tread on his face,
Pull his nose all over the place,
He cant disfigure, or disgrace,
Plastic man (plastic man).

Hes got plastic flowers growing up the walls,
He eats plastic food with a plastic knife and fork,
He likes plastic cups and saucers cause they never break,
And he likes to lick his gravy off a plastic plate.

Plastic man got no brain,
Plastic man dont feel no pain,
Plastic people look the same,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Kick his shin or tread on his face,
Pull his nose all over the place,
He cant disfigure, or disgrace,
Plastic man (plastic man).

Hes got a plastic wife who wears a plastic mac,
(yeah, hes plastic man)
And his children wanna be plastic like their dad,
(yeah, hes plastic man)
Hes got a phony smile that makes you think he understands,
But no one ever gets the truth from plastic man (plastic man)

Plastic man (plastic man).lol

Yeah, but it compelled others to be attracted to it, didn't it? That's why I said "bona fide."

Hm. Makes perfect sense. The Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, and Amazing Stories were dumping grounds for sci-fi short stories. At this point, it's become nigh-impossible to write a science fiction series without at least one of its episodes mimicking one of those shows.

I swear, if I see one more TV show where the people are somehow being controlled or kept in line by attaching an electronic doo-dad to their heads that stifles human creativity and places the human race on a collision course with an evolutionary wall, I'm going to snap.

RTD DOES stick tight to continuity. Show me an example otherwise or better yet, show me one of these many interviews.

Correct me if I'm wrong, in Season 1 the Doctor takes Rose to see the End of the World. In Season 3 the Doctor takes Martha to a far future Earth because Captain Jack hopped on board "making his Tardis go further into the future than it had ever been"... But if the Earth still existed, then he must have gone further into the future with Rose.

When the TARDIS took the Doc, Jack, and Martha to the end of the universe, that wasn't Earth. That planet belonged to Chantho's bug-people.

It's irrelevant, anyway. After The End of the World, humans got nostalgic and built a New Earth in a new star system that was supposed to mimic the original.

Joan Collins to join Doctor Who?
http://i13.tinypic.com/6as2gs3.jpg (http://tinypic.com/)

Dynasty ***** Joan Collins will play a Doctor Who villain in the forthcoming series of the hit British show, according to media reports.

The 74-year-old Dynasty star is reported to play The Doctor's arch-nemesis Time Lady Rani.

A BBC insider told British Newspaper The News Of The World, "Joan's perfect for the role.

"The Doctor Who team are delighted they've managed to sign Joan. It's a real coup."

The sci-fi show was re-launched in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston in the lead role with the controversial choice of Billie Piper as his assistant.

The show was a hit enticing a legion of new young fans to the forty year old programme and snared the Most Popular Drama, Most Popular Actor and Most Popular Actress at the 2005 National Television Awards.

David Tennant stepped into the title role at the beginning of series two and enjoyed another succesful run with Piper who had stayed with the show and repeated the National Televison Award triple.

After a popular third season without Piper they are currently filming season four with Tennant still in the lead role making him one of the most popular Doctor's and the second longest running behind Who legend Tom Baker.

Not so keen on the Rani coming back - i just thought she was a pretty lame villian. But i'm sure they could spice her up a little.
I'm still waiting for ice warriors and sontarons (amongst others) Also it'd be cool to see cybermen from this universe cause they had a much cooler history.

unfortunately i think its too late for a huge multi story dotor who, too many ar etoo old. But then again it worked fine for troughton and C .Baker in the two doctors.
I always thought Syl McCoy was cut short as the doctor, and that little intro in the movie was hardly an adequate send off, but he had aged some at that point so perhaps it would be less noticaeble using him again. luckily being sci fi there no end to the amount of excuses they could come up with for the physical ageing for a doctor who had already regenerated when younger...
easiest still would be just to use Christopher Ecc. Or P Mcgann.

RTD has already said he won't be the one to cast a new doctor- he's off when tennant is. However i think he would be great. He's decended from charles dickens

If he leaves, he'll have regenerated into the Eleventh. You want Tennant as the Twelfth? I'm with Sinister. I love Tennant but I'd rather have him leave and going out strong then drugging it out for 200 years like T. Baker, if he didn't want to. We'd get a new Doc and Tennant would be where he wants to be. Sorry, I guess me and Sinister are crazy thinking of what the actor wants to do and hoping for his OWN best and not some silly TV show first (it's like those people who complain about Eccleston leaving, despite his dad's and his own illnesses, just because of some silly thing).

Doctor Who is science fiction. Time Travel, it's advantages and disadvantages. Not to be compared with those other programs. If you're an SF fan, you need to watch it from the begining of season 1. If you're not an SF fan, well than this show probably isn't for you, because the only other things it has is: action, a touch of romance and suspense.

I have never watched it from the start ever, nor have I seen that doctor who ever it was first, me I watch random episodes, seen the films and the one which was on the other day over here, but I never miss the new episodes, so you don't have to watch it from the start I never had.

I've never watched it from the start, either. I tried, but the Hartnell episodes just bored the living hell out of me. The original Doctor is nothing like the fun, bouncy, curious character that later Doctors evolved into. He's crotchety, condescending, and more than a little obnoxious at times. I only started liking the Doctor himself with the introduction of the second Doctor and his dry, sarcastic brand of humor.

perhaps if this were the David Tennant Appreciation thread rather than a thread devoted to that "silly TV show" we'd all agree with you. faulting people for being concerned about the effects of Tennant's departure on the show is asinine when it's the show itself that we're all here to discuss. try climbing down off your high horse.

thats cool. Its worth a peek at an episode but you have to know what your letting yourself in for. Its no greys anatomy or lost for the most part. Expect something that has to appeal to 8 year olds as well as your average adult (but you like harry potter so that shouldn't be an issue), its a little camp as well and melodramatic at times. episodes you should watch- the empty child/the doctor dances(two parter), the impossible planet/the satan pit(two parter), utopia, human nature/ family of blood (two parter). The finales really only work if you have watched the series for the pay off.
There is really no need to watch the old series for the new stuff-

Yeah, I liked him as Claude more than the Doctor, actually. He does snarky cynicism so well. I hope Claude comes back in Heroes season 2.

He would fit in here so well :woot:

I know I do, I hate all that stuff... I was watching a holiday video of the first time we went to Florida and it's cringe worthy, but my mum was loving it.

I get the same thing...In English last year, whenever we had to do a presentation in front of the class, the teacher would film it, and then play it back through the interactive whiteboard, so we could see ourselves and learn how to improve....I bloody hated it.
