actaully donna will proabably be the best new who companion of them all since she's more likely to punch the dr than kiss him, and will probably never get to cocky for her own good and actually be of more use than a medical student who really showed very little medical knowlage...

To be fair I think that Rose was a much better character with more depth, where as Martha was just used to show that the Doctor didn't have to love everyone. IMO Voyage of the Damned if much better than The Runaway Bride, but mainly because I don't rate Catherine Tate as an actress. She's a very good comedian, but the only way I've ever seen her act is angry...by shouting. With that in mind, I'm warily looking forwards to Season 4 because we have the promise of Martha returning, if not Rose.

As soon as Astrid said she wanted to be a companion I kknew she was dead. Donna look like shes gonna be annoying. They probabley wanted a totally different companion after Rose and Martha but a gobby middle aged women who gives the Doctor sass ain't a good idea.

I like that the douche survived and the nice fat couple didn't. Saved it being too predictable like most disaster movies which is pretty much what Voyage was. It was Posiden Adventure in space.

Max Capricon was a lame villian. If they where gonna make him a cyborg atleast make him a cool looking one. They just made him a head in a box on one of those granny mobiles.

Well, viewing figures were MASSIVE and the press reviews are mostly very positive ....

As a Dr Who fan part of me loves to hear stuff like that but the other part knows this could be epic and even better if RTD walked away.

I have to agree with Lord Valumart and 04nbod. this year's special was a huge disappointment and the new theme is awful. first of all, I find it difficult to believe that a race capable of building an interstellar luxury spaceship and possessing teleportation technology is still using forklifts. I would expect they would have developed something similar to the magnetic clamps seen in Army of Ghosts and Doomsday. also, any reason why Astrid couldn't have jumped out of the forklift just before it went over the edge? not as if it has doors. and I was pretty annoyed that no explanation was given as to how the bow of the Titanic, which seems larger than the TARDIS exterior, could crash into the console room.

Xmas episode was kind of sad really lol no happy funny, but it was ok not the best. But I liked the preview the best lol.

I've finally "acquired" this episode, and am ready to weigh in...

What the hell was up with them not explaining how the bow of the ship ended up inside the TARDIS like that? I was hoping the chameleon circuit got screwed up, and the TARDIS ended up disguised as something larger, but nooooo, we just got spoon-fed bullcrap.

The new variation of the theme song is good, but I'd like it more if they also changed the visuals. Watch the opening with the previous theme. When the TARDIS switched from the blue wormhole to the red one, the horns in the background made this whining sound as the TARDIS slowed down. The strings were more prominent, and it felt like the visual of the TARDIS falling through time was animated specifically to that tune.
Now... not so much. Still, I like it better than McCoy's theme, with the wacked-out digital bass line.

What's up with this TV show not explaining why there are so many humans in space? I easily accept it in episodes in the distant future (humans have left Earth for the stars), and episodes where they don't explain what time they're in at all (I assume it's always the future), but this took place in Christmas 2008. Why are there more advanced humans living on other planets?

I don't mind that Astrid's name meant nothing. In fact, I'm glad. Some of you Who fans and your anagrams, I swear...

I loved that fat couple. The husband's death was so needless and tragic, but when Foon sacrificed herself to stop the Host, I was shocked. I was thinking she'd at least survive. Hell, I was hoping Slade would be the first to die.

The "I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord." scene didn't make me cringe nearly as much as the soundbite did in the trailer.

I watched it on the day and have only just come back to the hype to talk about it.

Hmm it was hard to get a good feel for it for a while but I have to say it was not that great IMO.

I liked Max...he was well played. But the DR was a little over the top - yes more so than usual. The whole "I'm the DR baby I will be your Hero" was a tad retarded. Also like Manic says above the dead lock door on a bridge! WTF?

Killing everyone off for no real reason was dumb. I did like the hosts :)

Information - RTD has so many issues he feels compelled to spell them out in DR WHO.

I easily accept it in episodes in the distant future (humans have left Earth for the stars), and episodes where they don't explain what time they're in at all (I assume it's always the future), but this took place in Christmas 2008. I just saw Voyage of the Damned. Fairly entertaining, but I couldn't figure out what kind of tone RTD was going for. It hopped from funny to traumatic to emotional to gruesome and back all the time, and it wound up feeling kind of muddled. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry sometimes (metaphorically, of course; I actually watched the whole thing with a stoic grimace on my face, as I tend to do for most shows).

I think VotD's deaths have to rank up there with some of the stupidest deaths I've ever seen, too. Rather than killing off people slowly, like survivor stories are supposed to do to make you more edgy and fearful for the others' safety, RTD apparently forgot to kill anyone and then decided to drop a bunch of dead weight all at once in that bridge scene. 3 bloody characters all die within a ten-minute span of each other in relatively stupid ways. Only Balafacalata (or however you spell it) had a cool death, which was slightly ruined for me by the Doctor not using his magic-screwdriver-that-does-everything-but-only-when-it's-convenient-to-the-plot to recharge his power cell or whatever. The all-time dumbest death scene had to be Kylie Minogue's character, though. The forklift had giant, open sides. She could've jumped out anytime before it went over the side. Frankly, I'm glad she died; no one who's too retarded to figure that out deserves to live, as they'll just clutter up the gene pool.

I will say this for VotD, though: it had the best "I'm the Doctor" speech out of any of the episodes I've seen. :)

The whole Balakalafata thing fell a little short if you ask me. I never felt like I had to care about him. In fact I don't think I even care for the DR that much anymore. Rose was the only one I really cared for in terms of her character.

The answer is yes. There is a very very very small section of schools that do teach Baseball and USA football, they even have cheerleaders. In fact Northhampton is such a place that does it.
