Interesting. I would have thought that the only football-type choices would be European football or Rugby. I wonder how popular the US football games are among those local communities.

Trust me the USA sports over here are very rare.

It can not win if it is up against Heroes.

cause heroes does really rather simple effects and does well where as dr who does rather complicated effects and does sub par:huh:

we had American football at my old school it was so unpopular we didn't have a team the next year *although the school had a pin pong team so I wouldn't read that much into it*

Trust me the USA sports over here are very rare.

Basketball was big in my school. The three main sports where Football (soccer), Rugby and Basketball.

American football isn't nowhere near as popular as english football.
I was a basketball fan when I was about 14 and followed LA Lakers.

primeval has better effects than dr who casue in primeval they don;t really call on them that often...the 2nd series looks to have more beasties running around than previous and i'm sure they can do well with it...

dr who on the other hand tries to much on such a limited budget:csad:

They also lack creativity sometimes when it comes to their aliens. If you compare other long running shows like Buffy which had a vast veriety of demons. The current revived DW has been pretty unimaginitive.

I only watched one Aussie show, Kath and Kim im sad aren't I lol.

Most shows I liked are US or Canadian well where 4400 was cancelled :(

Heroes is good, but its only as big as it is due to being on mainstrem channels, there are better shows, heck BSG is better then that any day.

It was not main stream.

I was talking about in the US, in the UK it got hype before it airred on BBC, but shows are always bigger on the other side, but I was just saying thats why its so big.

But now its on BBC2 people know the show or have heard of it, but it was getting hype before it showed and the some people from it where on BBC breakfast, and ITV talk shows when no other sci fi show gets that as there not on a main strem channel like Sky One.

Well it was not due to advertising over here that is for sure. It's just a good show. If it was as popular as it is now when it started it would have been picked up by Sky for sure.

Still TV is good what ever country, but you get so much more for you £ over there :)

- Patrick Troughton's son David Troughton will be in series 4 as will Chipo Chung, playing a different character than Chantho.

WHO NEWS!!!

Davies: 'Doctor Who' will be around for years
http://pics.livejournal.com/ecctv/pic/00b37ffr

Russell T Davies has promised Doctor Who fans that the series will be around for years.

The writer, whose modern version of the classic show has been a smash hit, said: "I reckon the long-term future of Doctor Who is safer now than any other drama on telly."

There were fears that the programme may not last after rumours that current Doctor David Tennant intended to quit.

But Davies said that "a secret history of phone calls, dinners and face-to-face conversations" had led him to feel sure of its place on British TV.

He added: "For Doctor Who, there are many New Years to come. And that's a promise."

WHO NEWS: Serious End OF Series Spoilers!!!

John Barrowman has let slip that he will make a surprise return this year to help save Doctor Who from death.

http://i31.tinypic.com/10frj3a.jpg
His character, Captain Jack Harkness, is to be brought back for an amazing end-of-series climax.

The Doctor (David Tennant, 36) will be seriously hurt in an explosion and he will have to rely on Jack and Sarah Jane Smith, (Elizabeth Sladen, 58) to come to his rescue.

In a sensational master stroke, show writer Russell T Davies, 44, has decided to reunite some of the doc’s old assistants for the climax of series four.

And they will include Torchwood’s Captain Jack, played by John, 40.

The plot was supposed to have been a big secret, but your Daily Star discovered details last year.

Now John has admitted: “Let’s just say there is always the possibility that when the Doctor needs help to fight off someone or something, he calls on Jack.

“He is the muscle and guns man. I can’t say too much – wait and see.”

Elizabeth – who was the Tardis companion for Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, 73, in the 70s and made a guest appearance with David Tennant two years ago – is also back.

She let slip: “I’ve just heard I’m coming back. I’m so excited.”

They will also be helped by Rose Tyler, played by sexy Billie Piper, 25.

I was going to say he should meet the face of boe but you know what I think that they would screw it up some how I have a bad feeling about it.

I think the story behind uncovering Jack as the Face of Boe was brilliant. My friend and I spent a whole week checking to see how believable it was, and we couldn't find any flaws.

no...the important thing is that donna will have a low cut top on:up:

So, I've heard that Martha, Donna, and Rose will be in the fourth series. Is this true?

There are no flaws with the idea that Jack lives to become the face of boe as it was a mere hint at the end of season 2. There are no facts to back up the theory but you can assume with confidence that Jack = Face of Boe...

Well, I definitely agree. At the end of season 3, he states how he use to be called the Face of Boe. The only thing is during the episode of "New New York" (I think it's season 2), the cat nurse said that he's the last of his kind. However... he could've simply made up a story of a race of Boe-kind. I just find it amazing how they brought in that theory after already having the Face of Boe in previous episodes.

Indeed in fact was there an episode in season 1 that said the face of boe had a son?

lol, I remember that! How could he give birth to a son is something I always wondered...
And did you notice that Cassandra says something like, "back when I was a little boy" in the first season? I found that funny as well.

Jack/Face of Boe has a son seemed odd.

I wonder if they would ever bring up again in a future Doctor Who episode, or if they'll just ignore it like Cassandra's "back when I was a little boy".

Maybe...if they run out of ideas they may go back to a time when we can see Casandra as a little boy but the character I think was done to death...

I was upset when they brought her back, but I also thought that episode was hilarious! The scene where Cassandra switches from the Doctor to Rose is hilarious (though it was kind of vague on how she was able to do that).

Indeed it was a goof fun to have Eccles move out of the DR role for a few minutes.

New guest stars for Doctor Who

British actors Alex Kingston and Colin Salmon are set to star in the next series of Doctor Who.

Alex, best known for her roles in ER and Moll Flanders, will star in a Steven Moffat penned two-parter as River Song - a mysterious character who meets The Doctor on an expedition to uncover the secrets of an abandoned library.

She's joined by James Bond regular Colin Salmon, who also stars in the two episodes.

Alex said: "I used to watch Doctor Who through the crack in the door. I was so terrified but I couldn't tear myself away. I loved it so much and I'm so delighted to be a part of the new series."

Award-winning actress Catherine Tate is reprising her role as Donna, the runaway bride, and will star as The Doctor's companion throughout the new series alongside David Tennant as the Time Lord.

The first episode of the eagerly awaited new series will witness Donna tracking down The Doctor during an alien emergency in modern day London.

Further guest stars already confirmed to appear this time around include Sarah Lancashire, Felicity Kendal, Lesley Sharp, Georgia Moffett, Lindsey Coulson, Fenella Woolgar, Tim McInnerny, Peter Capaldi, Phil Davis and Tracey Childs.

The fourth series of Doctor Who is now in production and will hit BBC One in Spring 2008.

yep Colin Salmon. He is in his buddy Paul W.S Anderson movies where he usually gets killed by laser nets (AVP, RS, ect).

He was also Charles Robinson in Pierce Brosnans Bond films and in the new Punisher War Zone movie as well as live action Blood: The Last Vampire film.

I think that was just the writer having a little fun. You'll note even the Doctor, who seems a good deal more clued up on Jack's condition than anyone else, dismissed the idea immediately.

And also, Boe did die. As things stand jack simply cannot die at all.

Hmm few issues with that. Yes the DR did dismiss it but not with any real explination as to why he dismissed it...he jsut said "no".

Also we do not know enough about Jacks condition to say that he can live forever. Plus the face of boes death was more by choice as he gave his life to save the humans at the time. As if to say he has some control of the power/lifeforce that keeps him going.

The Doctor saying 'No' is good enough for me :cwink:

Seriously though, I still think the writers were just playing with us, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later what they really have in mind for Jack.

Wow, two movies and that makes it a recurance does it...

Blood: The Last Vampire was a sucky movie, but I hear there is a TV show that explains it... I'll pass on the TV show but I might look out for the live movie, I do like vampires even if Hollywood never gets them right.#

Also we do not know enough about Jacks condition to say that he can live forever.
The Doctor said he was a moment of time stuck that way. He also said to Jack that there might be an older version of him out there in Utopia

And assuming 'with confidence' that Jack really is the face of Boe based on one throwaway line isn't?
