Blue Peter Now Doc Who Shizzle!

edit... urmm Spoilers? i can't work spoiler tags though.
It mentioned prisoners Jackie, Sarah Jane and Mickey.. and loads of randomers. Sarah Jane says something about being one step closer to the Doctor. That's from the last episode apparently and they are kidnapped by Daleks. Oh and they showed a clip :D

I'm not following any of what you said there ??

What a shock.

For a race that is supposed to wiped out they sure do appear a lot.

Manic
06-25-2008, 07:47 AM
And they always appear with increased numbers.

Series 1: The emperor survived, then used human game show contestants to restart the Dalek race. Rose wipes them all out.

Series 2: 4 Daleks who didn't fight in the war appear, and they've brought a prison filled with thousands of Daleks. The Doctor and Rose throw all but the original 4 into the Void.

Series 3: The surviving 4 Daleks create a new race of human/Dalek hybrids, but they're soon killed off because they think for themselves. Only one Dalek remains in the universe.

Series 4: Okay, now it just feels like a joke...

"Oi!! Vera Duckworth, put your clogs on and go and feed 't'Whippets!"

translated means

"Hey! Annoying old working class lady (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Duckworth), go and put your simple shoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clogs) and and feed the clichéd Northern English greyhound (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whippet)!"

Pop your clogs mean to die, but I think she did say "put your clogs on". because it's generalised that working class housewives from up North run around the streets in their dressing gowns and slippers.

Donna spoke to her in a mock-Yorkshire accent, which explains the 't' before the Whippets.

In all fairness, I think RTD was saying that in a world where a nuclear space ship falls on the country and renders the entire southern part of England unlivable, the surge of refugees moving to the North and lack of foreign aid would cause Leeds to turn into a ghetto. A ghetto less desirable than Glasgow's inevitable ghettos, clearly.

Rose did make a point later of telling Dalek Sec that she was responsible for destroying the "Em'pra" and the other Daleks, but Sec is now dead. Right, so...
Now that we're near the finale, it's time to go over the themes that have carried over the episodes throughout this series.

Partners in Crime
Rose appeared
ATMOS stickers on cars (reference to upcoming "Sontaran Stratagem")
Donna mentions the bees disappearing (finale?)
The Adipose lost their old breeding world

The Fires of Pompeii
An oracle tells the Doctor "She is returning." (Rose)
The same oracle tells Donna "There is something on your back." (reference to "Turn Left")
The Pyrovile lost their home world

The Planet of the Ood
An Ood tells the Doctor "I think your song will must soon." (Prof. River Song reference?)

The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky
Rose briefly appears on the TARDIS monitor shouting "Doctor!" (or "Donna!) without audio.

The Doctor's Daughter
I couldn't find anything here.

The Unicorn and the Wasp
Donna mentions how they're running out of bees in her time, again.

Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead
Cal has 2 drawings on the wall of her living room: a blonde girl, and a wolf. (Rose)

Midnight
Rose appears on a monitor behind the Doctor and shouts "Doctor!" twice without audio.

Turn Left
Rose appears. Like, for real this time.
Rose basically sets up the finale by saying the darkness is coming and they need the Doctor to stop it. She also mentions the Bad Wolf.
Donna's mother mentions the bees disappearing.
Rose tells Donna that something about her is giving them strange readings, and they've been there since she was born.

Tate has said she's only doing one series...unfortunately. I'm tired of getting use to a companion, then they disappear after only 1 series. Rose was okay, because we had two series of her, but we only got one of Martha, and now one of Donna. :(

Well, truth be told I love anything that Catherine is in, but I feel that she has been vindicated as an actress now. It is a pity if she really only does one series...they both bounce off each other perfectly. It's been a nice change for an assistant not to be fawning after the Doctor.

Oh now that would be a surprise...somewhere along the lines of Rose appearing in Partners In Crime. Or at least Kylie appearing in some way, shape or form. Like her music being heard or her on a telly somewhere, just as a nod to Voyage Of The Damned. We all know that Kylie is a busy woman. Roll on two weeks time...she really is brilliant live. This'll be the second time I've seen her. I believe (and a quick wikipedia look has proven) that Mr Copper was actually a character from Voyage of the Damned, specifically the one who was left on Earth with millions of pounds. Perhaps he funded the technology to find a way back to his own time? Or even, maybe, he was looking for a way to contact the particles that Kylie turned into?

I've got it recorded, I'll download the utopia episode tomorrow and see if the drums are like donna's heartbeat thing. I just don't understand why that was put in there if it was a heartbeat, and then she snapped out of it with a reaction to what was going on.

Plus, the Dr said in the previous episode that it's alomst as if they're destind to be around each other.

You know I never really thought about any involvment from the Master, but might be possible I suppose. I did think that the scene with her on the stairs seemed a little out of place, like it was meant to mean something...

We all know the Master'll be back, and that, let's face it he traded places with his wife before he died. Could it be possible that Donna Noble is simply the Master? Outlandish, and just not likely one little bit (kinda like that idea though).

Just read back a bit and yes, I heard the drums when the camera focused on Donna. Also liked her little reaction when she first laid eyes on Jack. But the regeneration...didn't see that coming. Oh yeah, and I think Billie's death is WAY overdue, leave Donna out of the dying thing.

It took me a while, but I've finally gotten around to seeing this episode. I have some thoughts...

I liked Elizabeth Sladen. She was pure class, all the way.

Gwen and Ianto weren't annoying, which was good. But then, I suppose that happens when the Torchwood crew can't be shown having sex every 5 minutes.

You just know Dr. Grace Holloway and Adam "thingy in his head" Mitchell received that broadcast, probably along with any surviving Earth-based companions from the Old Who show.

"Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister."
"Yes, we know who you are."
I must be easily amused, because that just never gets old.

You all need to stop with the whole "Is Donna the Master?" crap. Donna heard a steady beat, like a heart. The Master heard an entirely different, somewhat syncopated rhythm. Anyway, that lady from the Shadow Proclamation said that Donna was "something new." Rose said Donna has been giving strange readings since the day she was born. Whatever Donna is, she's likely something we haven't seen before.

Dalek Caan is freaking hilarious when he's crazy.

Bees : Doctor Who :: Dolphins : Hitchhiker's Guide

Someone mind explaining to me why the TARDIS didn't translate the Judoon?

I stand by my theory that Caan's attempt to pull Davros from death is resulting in a paradox that's collapsing the universe. I'm just not sure why it would cascade to other universes.

Now then. The regeneration. I have a hard time believing David Tennant is leaving to make way for a new Doctor. Not because he's reportedly in the Christmas special, but because I can't believe that they'd be able to keep something like this a secret. They couldn't stop the 2005 pilot episode from being stolen and leaked on the internet. We knew Tennant was coming to replace Eccleston before Series One was at its half-way point. And good lord, we knew John Simm was playing Harold Saxon and that Saxon would be the Master long before Series Three started airing. This production team couldn't keep something like "David Tennant leaving and being replaced with [BLANK]" a secret to save their lives.

How did Rose know enough about Donna and Doctor's travels to know the Doctor was supposed to stop the Sontarans, but not know Martha was with them? I mean, even if she missed Martha's year with the Doctor, you'd think she noticed Martha when she played a part in one of Donna's adventures.

This was posted on another Who forum as the solution to the regeneration ....

Big spoilers if correct so be careful.

As the Doctor regenerates at the beginning of episode 13 the regeneration energy sparks out and hits the Doctor's hand in the glass jar which he now has in the TARDIS. This causes the regeneration to go badly wrong, causing the Tenth Doctor to remain the Tenth Doctor, and the hand grows into a duplicate of the Tenth Doctor. So, two David Tennant's are running around episode 13.

- The proper Doctor is still in the his brown suit. And Ten's duplicate wears the blue suit. However, the duplicate in the blue suit is human and not a Time Lord...or Gallifreyan.

Some leaked set pictures show Tennant in both suits so I suppose its possible???

I have grown to like Tennant a great deal, and I don't want to lose him at this stage. He was gunned down by a Dalek's energy beam, however, and his regeneration had begun. It would cheapen both those elements of the mythology if they were reversed or betrayed, unless the reasons were absolutely compelling.

*cough*Magic Reset Button*cough*

I agree this is like the doctor turning old in the sound of drums. A cliffhanger moment. There's so many theories about what will happen next

Another bit of info I found on another message board. David Morrissey was heard doing dialogue with the new -- and likely temporary -- companion for this year's Christmas special. "The Doctor's companion will do what the Doctor says! Now go!"

Proof much? And, if I'm not much mistaken, the Doctor usually refers to himself in the third person only after post-regenerative trauma. This could indicate that in "Journey's End," Doctor #11 is in no shape to one-up Davros. Here's my even more refined theory as to what happens.

At the beginning of next week's episode, regeneration #10 completes, and there stands David Morrissey, the Eleventh Doctor. Everyone is excited until he begins demonstrating HIGHLY erratic behavior. Possibly even debilitating physical weakness. Hearts sink, until...

SMASH! Reacting to its original owner undergoing the somewhat traumatic regenerative process nearby, the Hand bursts from its preservative fluid and begins crawling around. The Hand begins to change, to grow... And after an offscreen growth/morph process, DAVID TENNANT stands up, stark naked and his usual, wacky/toothy self. ("Huh, naked. That's weird.") The Hand has, itself, regenerated, the Doctor's tenth regeneration being the catalyst. And because the Hand was still settling into the ninth regeneration, it keeps the traits of the Tenth Doctor. It is, in effect, Doctor #10 reborn.

Also, since the Hand was cut from the Tenth Doctor at a time following his own post-regenerative trauma, this Doctor is far more stable than the Eleventh Doctor, both mentally and physically. Doctor 10v2 is already up to speed with the situation because he and #11 have their memories more or less tied together through the Tardis. After quickly dressing in his favorite blue pinstripe and trainers, he's ready to face Davros.

In any case, Morrissey's Doctor is quickly ushered off screen to go rest and settle into regeneration. We will likely not see him until the end of this episode, and he will likely not be of much use before the Christmas special.

Now, I'm not sure how far apart the Tenth Doctor's glorious return will be from the time of the Doctor's tenth regeneration. The way I described it above, it would be almost immediate. But personally, I think it would be kind of neat to leave the companions to deal with Davros on their own. At the last minute, just before it looks like everyone is royally screwed... In walks Tennant! And he looks at Davros and is all like, "BOOYAH!" Kind of like how last year he was pretty much out of commission until the Angel Network de-aged him.

The rumor that the Doctor gets split in two in the finale has been floating around for ages. And suspicions have been high about Morrissey, one of the leading candidates to be the Eleventh Doctor, being in the Christmas special and wearing an outfit that smacks of the Doctor's closet. But up until this point, no one could quite fathom how they'd execute the split. The fact that the Hand has been getting more screen time as of late has been a big clue. And now, we have a cliffhanger regeneration before our very eyes. The evidence is mounting.

2. 11th doctor stays in alt universe while Tennant stays.

3. Two Tennants

4. The regenerations happens and we get doctor 11 but the hand grows into 10.

5. The hand will save the doctor from regenerating into 11

Well that was a Fantastic episode! With all the characters involved it did not feel too cramped, it felt epic. I also believe that this is not the end of Tennant and something will go wrong with the regeneration and that Sarah Jane, Gwen and Ianto are not Dead. I had a thought . People are saying that there are going to be 2 Doctor's. One in a blue suit, another in the brown. I really dunno where it'd fit in, but if they both survive, it reminded me of what River Song said, about him not being "her" Doctor. In that she only ends up with the cloned Doctor. But also she said that when he showed up "with a new suit and a haircut", perhaps for some reason it was the other Doctor that shows up there, not her's, given the different suit and hair. It doesn't really go anywhere, but it seemed to fit.

Right I've thought and thought and thought about it and

As for The Doctor

I think that the way Jenny regenerated (as herself) will come into play with the doctors regeneration, this could also be why they focused on the jar hand since they grew Jenny from the skin off the doctors hand.

As for Donna

I was thinking about the phrase Davros used "children of time" and eventually I came to the conclusion that Donna has some sort of Timelord ancestor(making her something new) but she doesn't have enough Timelord DNA to regenerate or anything, but her DNA gives her some form of (inadvertent) greater awareness, which is why she is always somewhere else when all the alien stuff happened before she met The Doctor.
