i'm still messing around trying to get the brightness and stuff better, but the intent was to make the helmet look more like a WWII German helmet and just some sense of formality to the uniform to emphasize a sense of superiority in Lord Vader.

the mask is inspired partly by a gas mask and also by james bond's rebreather, it's not meant to be his entire breathing device, i just figured if I had to use a machine to breathe, I would hide as much as possible under my uniform.

When I have time to take the time and do quality work, I'll try to post a better Vader and ideas i've sketched for the emperor, stormtroopers, and some weapons. But I'm really bogged down with homework. It's amazing how in college you can spend less time in class, but more time on homework than in high school.

She was some red-headed warrior princess of that Amazon-ish planet that rode rancors around...forget the name of it...anyway, she was a student of Luke's at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, became close friends with Jacan, Jaina, and Lobacca...her arm got blown off in a sparing session with LUke, because she hastilly constructed her lightsaber, but never got a bionic arm for some reason...I think she had a relationshjip with Jacan at some point...and she had a ship named the Rock Dragon.

My Qui Gon is Asian (based on Ken Watanabe of Last Samurai fame). He still taught Obi Wan, but by the first Episode...Obi Wan will have already been a knight. Qui Gon won't die in the first Episode.

Mace Windu is pretty much the same Mace Windu...just a different appearance. He'd also have a more interesting personality (he's been boring in the first 2 prequels). Aayla Sacura is originally a Twi'lak (the race with 2 tentacles coming out of their heads) but I changed her to a humanoid (Darth Maul's race).

Darth Maul will play a more important role in my version of the prequels. He'll basically be Darth Maul plus Darth Dooku...except he won't have the force lightning power that Dooku has.

My only problems with the design are the length of the mask, the shape of the helmet, and the body garments.

That is awesome. I always thought some of Ralph MacQuarrie's vader concept art was better that the final version - yours reminds me a bit of some of that.

I always thought it would be cool in Episode 3 if Anakin became Vader and got some form of the armour BEFORE he had the accident and bacame a cyborg. That armour could have been something like this.

The Anakin/Vader with the mask and long hair, well, imagine it with a mask more like DorkyFresh's (sans helmet). In fact imagine DorkyFresh drew all these :)

The Yoda is what he might have looked like hundreds of years ago. This was drawn maybe 8-9 years ago.

I've been having this idea for Yoda's clothing (and the clothing of the Jedi Council in general) to mimick that of Hindu and Bhuddist Monks for a while. I'd be interested to see if somebody could render that on paper.

Good....I wanted him to look harmless and peaceful. If a Sith were to come up to him and challenge him, they would underestimate Yoda's abilities based on his looks.

I also gave him darker eyes simply because I like the black eyed look on steretypical aliens (big heads, gray skin, skinny frame, big black eyes) and I wanted to give Yoda the same type of feel snice he IS an alien. My Yoda also has an old wound from a lightsaber battle with the sith before they became nearly extinct.

If I ever get good enough...I'm going to make him in 3d and animate him to fight like Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat's character) from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. He'll be precise and skillful...unlike in Attack of the Clones where he jumps around like a rubber ball. My Yoda will often take out an opposer in less than 3 moves.

That's the thing...my Yoda will never use his lightsaber in a REAL fight, but he WILL use it to teach his pupils and students. My Yoda is so in tuned with the force that even if someone as talented with the lightsaber as Darth Maul or Anakin were to confront him...he could simply hold out his hand and stop them from even moving or getting close enough to slash at him.

yeah yeah yeah. what I meant was; what about taking a jedi and turning him to the dark side. Similar to the apparent change in appearance the anakin goes thhrough in the 3rd movie.

n8dogg....your stuff is pretty good. i kinda like your revised Palpatine...but I'm not sure if that's supposed to be his hair or some kinda tattoo or what. The costumes for the Jedi are pretty good. They feel like Jedi even though they're not wearing typical Jedi robes. I like the shoulder pads and chest of Darth Vader...but I'm not too keen on the mask, torso, or belt. Actually...I'm not exactly sure how everything is placed on those parts.

Good work though.

Nope....the finger was there from the start. I drew the outline and then detailed it in as I moved downwards. Actually I think the last things I worked on were his boots and his lightsaber...

I see what he's saying. The lighting on his finger goes abruptly into the glove making it look like it was "added on" if you want to focus on that sole transition. It's fine.

But, Yoda was still just an overgrown frog with rabbit ears...Id like to see you just take the premise of the character and make him your own...just think in your head...what would a 900 year old jedi master look like? Same for Vader...redesign his suit completely...totally change it...it should have a minimal resemblence too the original.. Just my opinion anyways...

Okay im guessing the image is waaaayyy to big but anyways. This is my fett design, well one of them anyways. the idea was reeallly influenced on cobra commander/ refugee style. The missle on his pack is "bladed" because i figured if your gunna have something blow up you might as well have it be spiky. other than that... its just fett!!

i finally saw star wars yesterday for the first time, i saw A New Hope, and the Empire Strikes Back, and although i still have 4 more movies to go, i thought it was pretty decent.

so i looked through all the pages in this thread today and there is some cool redesigns in here

In the past year or so I just sorta thought that if I could re-do the Star Wars universe, I'd do several things differently.

I like the Strong, Silent Darth Vader...very stoic and Frankenstien meets Dr. Doom. However, it doesn't really refect the way Anakin acted before he turned, or made his way over to the darkside.

Basically...he'd be a lot less solid and more fluid. Acrobatics, very fast, yet still strong. Having the odd helmet sort of detracts from articulation and such, so I just sorta got rid of that.

I'd also change the origin of Darth Vader. Instead of the suit being a life-support system, it'd be more of a choice. He'd fallen and was injured. But technology and the force managed to heal him a lot better. Instead of hanging out on a star destroyer or the death star, the imperial base would be located on Mustafar. I figure a final showdown between Obi-Wan and Vader once again on the same planet that ended their friendship would be totally kick-ass. The deathstar would also be a lot smaller, more powerful, and sort of a satalite, controlled from Mustafar.

As for Anakin, he'd still have character. He'd be a lot more talkative, and angry. The helmet/mask would be removeable, though he'd still have scars. He'd wear it for intimidation purposes. And maybe for some sort of reason a la an ancient sith style or whatever.

Its based on a WW2 german helmet mixed with a Kabuto samurai helmet

Its one of the things the Prequels did do well - great saber fight scenes
