Some updates are coming...it's just that of late I'm not working on the glitzy spidey stuff, but the dramatic dialogue scenes and such. But I'm just about 90 minutes into this thing. So things are progressing at a good pace. And to put things in perspective reagrding the time factor, I was recently watching "The Incredibles" commentary, and they were working on that for four years with over a hundred animators. So I'd say I'm doing pretty good.

I have to say, and this isn't supposed to be hurtful or anything, it's just with the influx of animated movies, your film looks like an animatic, but it is all your own work which is highly admirable. What program you using for the models and environments?

I won't get into the laundry-list of crap I've been through in the last year and a half, but suffice to say that it slowed my progress to a crawl. But now that I've got some new tech ( just got a new computer that flies and will be getting another soon) I can really get rolling again. So expect updates at a faster pace.

I can't be hurt by that man. The movies you're talking about average in a 150million bucks (Wall-E cost 180 mil).

Plain and simple, I'm not trying to compete with anyone. I'm making the movie
I want to see. Also, to be clear- everything I've shown thus far is generations away from the final cut. This is just the animation and initial render stage. After I have a rough-cut of the entire film, I'll go back in and clean-up shots, add new ones and where necessary, do new animation from scratch. Then I do a final render with corrected lighting, raytracing and so forth.

As for the programs- I'm using 3ds Max for the models and animation. I use Combustion for FX & compostiing and have been doing the edit in Abode Premiere, but will do the final edit with Avid.

Rhings are going really well. I've got over 100 minutes of animation done and the rough cut that I'm putting together plays well. I've got over a hundred minutes of the animtion done, and I have about another 30 minutes left. Then I start diong post (sound, music, FX). I'm looking to get two more computers to help speed up the rendering process.

I've certainly been thinking about it, but haven't made a final decision on it. I'm leaning toward the website streaming idea.But I'd like to see what all the options are. After all the work that gone into this I'd like for it to get as wide a viewing as possible.

I won't lie. When I first checked out this thread I laughed at the idea of just a regular 'ol someone doing an animated Spider-Man film.

Then I decided to check out the script. I was preparing myself to start hating on it before I even read it.

Shows what kind of guy I must be, it was actually pretty damn good. Enough so that I had to finish it.

And skipping forward 50 pages or so and checking out the screenshots, man, I think I'm really excited to watch this bad boy.

It kinda makes me feel like Marvel studios took over and made their own Spider-Man movie.

Thanks so much, guys. I use 3D Studio Max for the animation and modeling, as well as Maya for some of the character stuff. I also use Adobe Premiere for editing and Combustion for compositing and effects.

I remember this from way back, and I'm glad to see that you guys are going through with it! It's so rare to see a fan film production go on for more than a year, let alone 4+, so it's incredible that you guys are going through with this. Hope you stick through until the end!

Just watched the trailer. Impressive. The animation especially caught my attention. I know this is an amateur production, but some of the set pieces and action sequences were very well detailed. Looks like it'll be a fun movie to watch. I wasn't particularly impressed by the editing of the trailer though. With small spurts of music and no music, there was just no flow to it at all. It felt like just a messily put together series of clips and not an actual trailer.

Everything else looking fine, though. Can't wait to see it!

Glad you like the designs. I'm in the middle of writing the third script right now. The story is very complex, but I'm happy with it. As far as the number of villains, not every villain is fully examined. Some are just fights that Spidey has.

These stories are not so much about Spidey vs. Whomever- they're really about really about what Peter Parker's life is like at various points.

The casting for this film is finished. But I'll be starting casting for the second one soon. And four years for one person working on an animated film isn't too bad, since it normally takes at least 3 years to do one with dozens of people working on them.
