Voice Actors needed for my Animated Spidey movie..

Hey folks-

You folks may have seen my postings of both of my Spider-Man scripts. In addition, I've been working on doing an animated film based on my first script, and I need voice actors to perform the roles.

What I need is for folks interested in doing the character voices to e-mail me Wave or mp3 files of themselves performing lines of the characters. Pretty much all newer systems have some capacity for recording sound. I'm not terribly concerned that the sound quality be fantastic, just clear.

As a suggestion to those interested, definitely read for more than one role. I'm especially looking for female performers for the roles. Right now as I'm starting to do the animation, I'm making the sound files to work on syncing the dialogue. And believe me, performing the female character lines is creeping me out ;)

One suggestion to folks reading for the villains, particularly the Goblin- try not to get too "cartoony" with his voice. Actors seem to play roles like that in a an over-the-top manner (See the Batman films post Joker). But I'd rather the villains be more sinister than manic.

Uh.. That's debatble.. ;) But- As they're professional voice actors they'd be expecting money for doing the roles, which I have none to pay, since this project is both about fun and about perfecting my directing skills. Anyway, feel free to read for some of the roles yourself.

Glad you like 'em. The spider has eight legs but they are close together. For the final rendering I'm going to make the spider look more like the movie design.

There's no real cut off. Submit your auditions as soon as you can. Believe me, I have a ton of work to do aside from the lip syncing. Until I have the voice actors cast, I'll be both finishing the characters for animation, creating the sets and doing the non-speaking animation.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I've been trying to work out some of the other secondary characters as well, like Electro, Morbius, and Conners. I was gonna give Norman a shot, but I figured whoever did GG should do Norman and there's no way I can pull off a Gobby laugh. I actually recorded a scene between Pete and Norman, but I think I forgot to save it. Wouldn't come close to Threshold's Peter/Spidey anyways.:)

Thanks. I was really happy w/ how Morbius turned out, but I noticed that I pronounced every word w/ and accent except "the" but that's a minor nitpick. And I will have that JJJ done this weekend. I'm drinking beer instead of whiskey tonight to go easy on my throat.:D

Yeah, the casting is completely open.

However, as it stands now:

Marjorie will be performing as Aunt May. She brings an energy and vibrance to the character that I was looking for in my writing. I didn't want May to come off as frail.

The Hype member Green Goblin is doing Norman/The Green Goblin. His audtions were freakin' scary. Exactly as I'd imagined the Goblin in my writing.

Lumberjack for JJJ & Electro. Again, beautiful reads from him.

EVERYONE ELSE to be played by Threshold.. ;) That's a joke, but only kind of. Although pretty much everyone will be doing multiple roles, one thing I've been concerned about is having anyone have to perform a conversation with themselves. But Threshold pulls it off without a hitch.

I'm still not certain however about the most important role, that of course being Peter/Spidey. Both Threshold and Nightwing have given me really good reads, but I'm still mulling them and other reads I have over. Obviously Spidey has to be given the most care in the decision process.

At the same time I welcome anyone who wants to submit auditions for the multitude of other roles available in the script.

Threshold, I like your Peter Parker voice. It has just the right amount of nerdiness in it (although, that might just be you ;)). Your Spidey voice sounds great as well. The one thing I didn't like about SM the movie was that Maguire used the same voice for Spiderman. I like how you've changed that and added more character to the voice.

Well they may not be as fun, but you could try for Flash, Robbie, Connors, or other more "normal" roles that also need the everyman voice like Peter's.

As Lumberjack suggests try reading any of the supporoting characters you see- But- Also try any (or all) of the Enforcers and Harry.

I want to apologize to you folks for taking so long to respond, but I'm working really hard to prep the characters for animation. To give an idea of what I'm doing, for each of the characters I've posted here (And more beside) I have to make about 30 facial positions for, so it's very time consuming. This is aside from rigging the characters' bodies for animation. But I'll be getting back to all of you soon with the next steps we'll be taking.
